Our plans were derailed a little yesterday as we managed to get a flat tire just two hours after leaving Sydney. It was difficult to deal with as our rental company didnt offer any help whatsoever, so after I swapped our wheel we ended our drive earlier, and settled in for the night. This morning we had to figure out what to do with the car but still keep moving south; after a long morning we managed to get our car swapped for a new one (boy does that sound strange) and we continued our drive. We stopped by [the Guinness world book of records whitest beach](https://coord.info/GC3YA18), and after Laura had a short swim, we got back on the road and eventually made it to the target of our adventure today; the [worlds first earthcache](https://coord.info/GCHFT2). We do love ECs and that was our 295th EarthCache found. It was quite the memorable and unique moment and experience. Once we were done at the Wasp Head, we condinuted driving south down the windy and busy road which the locals call the highway. Indeed, it is in no way a highway. But alas, we stopped at this ninth stash of the day, and though we passed many other stashes along the way, I needed a short stop along the long drive in the darkness. At GZ, we both searched for a while, though we only managed to find the magnet. Bummer. I ended up drafting this DNF log at 6:19 pm. Thanks nonetheless dghoffy for bringing us here, while on our trip around Australia! Perhaps next time..

08-Oct-22
Day 8 and my last day in Bermagui before heading home. Goal today was to complete the SST series (Minus my DNF's), majority left are south around Tathra and Bega plus grab any others along the way.

Had a DNF here a few days ago, but was thinking about it last night and come up with another idea. Sure enough I had a look at the area from a different perspective and the cache was quickly spotted. A nice hide, gets a FP from me.

Tftc!

Predominantly creative hides on this series kept things interesting. Got this one but it had become dislodged from its hidey spot and we found it down the bank. We could not replace it in the correct location but have put it in a sensible spot near gz and not too obvious. Scenery beautiful. Our thanks to dghoffy for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

22-Oct-19
This is the last day for picking up more of this fun series, along with ilook4geo. We realise what a lot of thought and preparation has been put into the cache placements and names as well as the apt camo used on so many. Each log had both lots of initials noted on it before being replaced as found.
Many thanks go to dghoffy and elysium_au for placing and maintaining such a worthwhile series of caches.

A challenge but we got there!

Spending a glorious weekend down the Sapphire Coast as part of the Canberra Invasion. Whilst the invasion meant the chance to catch up with many cachers at events and at different spots (and a delightful excuse to celebrate Lovetherabbitohs 18th birthday), I spent most of the weekend on the hunt with the CGI crew: Fitzy_1965, DarzeeDi, Minniek , K8TYBEE , GLISS!, GSC2000 Lovetherabbitohs, B0tmun, death_killer & my_name_jeff_1. Thanks so much for keeping all the caches alive and making this weekend a possibility! Tftc

Out and about with nibletricecakes and the Goulburn/Canberra crew. Scouting the coastline for treasures... my first big caching weekend! TFTC (and trail)

10-Jun-19
One of many many caches found during our SST caching invasion - thank you !

10-Jun-19
Headed to Wallaga Lake for a bit of an invasion by people from Canberra & Goulburn. A group of us convoyed for most of the long weekend. The group known as CGI (Canberra Goulburn Invasion) consisted of fitzy_1965, darzee di, nibletricecakes, k8tybee, GLISS!, GSC2000 and my geokids Lovetherabbitohs, b0tmun, death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.

Day 3 now all packed up and ready to head home but not before finishing the SST series and any others along the way. All caches were quickly found. We certainly loved the variety.

I think this was my most favourite cache of the weekend. I love how you make caches to just fit.

10-Jun-19
Sorry for the generic log, some with an added comment - this weekend a few of us from Canberra and Goulburn decided to travel down to Bermagui and do the SST series and some of the other traditionals, camping at Wallaga Lake Big4.
Today was day 3, final day of our adventure and what a great adventure it was, loved the company, lots of laughs and stories making it a successful fun long weekend. I just loved the different caches and ability to park safely and enjoy the experience, some a little harder to find than others but found in the end Smile. We signed logs as team CGI (canberra Goulburn invasion) and we all enjoyed ourselves, we all had a great day and all said how much a fantastic series it was. Tftc dghoffy and elysium_au

Sorry hoffys, but this is going to be a generic log, as I have trouble keeping up with the youngsters I cache with, let alone making notes for individual caches. It will however save you reading every log! SmileSmileSmileSmile
Weeks ago it was decided to resurrect the idea of Canberra Invasions. I had not previously been involved in these adventures but enthusiastically signed up and this is our second this year. What a fabulous time we had. The main targets were the Event on Saturday night to celebrate an 18th birthday and the SST series. Both were achieved as well as some extras thrown in for good luck.

Thanks to all the COs for the effort they put in to creating the caches we found, but especially to dghoffy . What an incredible set of caches. I especially loved the names allocated to the caches - wow what great imaginations you have, and this spilled over to the creation of the caches. Well done d! It was wonderful not to have a series of mint tins or sistemas and their placement was great too. Evil at times TwistedTwistedTwistedTwisted but so much fun! SmileSmileSmile I especially appreciated the fact that there was always good parking on roads that can be busy - glad it was a winter long weekend not one in summer.

All caches were eventually found, sometimes with a little bit of help - thanks to the COs and GrimRaider and were signed or stamped as Capital Crunchers. Brilliant series so thanks again and it was great to have you share the weekend with us.

Cache 5203 on 9 Jun 2019.

This was a long awaited and planned geocaching mission to the south coast with a few other Canberra cachers. Bobl27, TikvaNZ and I drove down Saturday morning and picked up a few caches on the way to the main goal which was the SST. We picked up 19 caches Saturday getting warmed up for the main day today, Sunday. And such pretty views from so many cache spots.

This cache: nicely constructed cache! FP

Thanks dghoffy and elysium_au for the cache and the fun!

Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a very well designed, constructed and placed cache. The cache and contents were I good condition. Thanks dghoffy and elysium_au for the cache and a very enjoyable series. This cache earns a favourite from us.

Just about to give up when we spotted something on our final search. Cool hide, TFTC

30-May-18
A series I will never forget, extremely challenging at times as every cache is different and there is no hint. Without a hint you approach GZ each time like a newbie, and if co-ords slightly out finding some caches becomes hard. Day 3. Nice bridge, cache well blended. Tftc

28-Apr-18
Day 4 had me starting in Mollymook and heading down the coast back into VIC and ending up in Bairnsdale. Enjoyed the winding forest roads a bit too much before being stopped by the authorities. 20 caches in total, and that's after a GPS malfunction. Saw a lizard and a Wallaby so not a lot of wildlife today.

16th find and it took a while to find this one. I was hoping I wouldn't have to find a way under and glad I finally spotted something out of place.
Grabbed the TB and wanted to swap one but didn't have one that fit.

Thanks for the cache

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work.

Favorite for this one.... loved it

15-Feb-18
Overnight trip around the SST with Seemyshell and Brewmaker. I was really impressed with the wide range of unique styles and sizes. Another huge selling point on these were the interesting names for the caches (instead of numbered), which makes it easier to remember each location and find. Thanks to all the Cache Owners of the Sapphire Coast (namely dghoffy and elysium_au) for injecting the greater area with good quality caches. Thanks For The Cache!

This bridge cache was awesome! Nice homemade camo!

14-Jan-18
How do you turn a straightforward drive back to Sydney into a 12 hour trip? Geocaching with AWTYOW, Geogangstas and Gabstar along the way. Although we recognised we had to be selective and not stop for everything we still made this into a big day! At least we had fun and saw some great places along the way. TFTC

A quick find on the trip home TFTC

This was our eighth find of the morning (although we had to resist stopping for more of these - too hard with two cars to stop at some). Gabstar spotted it and we really liked the camo - a favourite point for the effort. This is a great cache! Can't wait to come back a have a go at the rest of the series.

We have been visiting The Saphire Coast since our childhood and have always loved family holidays. Now there's just the 2 of us and we still love coming here. There's no better way to explore than on our very own geo-tour. We are interested to see if we discover any unknown (to us!) treasures on our journey today. We have already seen one whale from the shore, fantastic!
Another beautifully crafted cache that blends in well.
Another favourite from us.
