Went back to check on the location of this one and it's turned into a bit of a dumping ground so have decided to archive this one.
Checked in on this one tonight after work. Uplifted cache as area quite wet and boggy. Also had a bit of a clean up as it appears rubbish gets blown into this area. Will have a think about moving this one slightly to a better location.
Out caching with littlest Paua Ranger today as he has a teacher only day. He commented that this is one of his favourite kinds of caches... nice and easy to find. TFTC!
#6551. Interesting history of the little lagoon. A quick park and grab in Papakowhai this morning. A couple of cars were parked nearby, but GZ was all quiet in the rain. Quick find and took the cache into the car for some shelter. The cache was wet and the log sheet completely soaked and torn. Put in a fresh sheet of paper as a temporary log. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the informative description and the cache.
The log sheet was completely soaked and torn. Have put in a fresh sheet of paper as a temporary log in the meantime, but it will need to be properly replaced.
Arrived to find the cache complete exposed, so no problems finding it. Covered it up before moving on. TFTC
Could see this one on approach. Nothing amiss and covered up the container with leaf matter and the rock. TFTC
#1653 Made a wee detour on the way home from work today to pick up a couple of caches. A stunning afternoon to explore a couple of new spots. Not really any lagoon to speak of today- just lots of mud, rubbish and a yucky smell. Spotted cache on approach so hid a little better as I was leaving. TFTC!
Couldn't find this a few weeks ago, and now I know why - it was under water. We had an extremely high tide. Easy find today, and nice hide. Thanks.
#526. The Little Lagoon was looking a bit muddy and smelly today. But one royal spoonbill was seen feeding there alongside a white-faced heron. Cache was near road but in an area with a bit of privacy. Quickly found with a good hint. Signed and on to the next one. TFTC
Found by hubby, treasure hunting Tim. No treasures in this cache so we left a few to keep it going, tftc
This one was of particular interest to me as I lived in Paremata (on the hill close to the edge of Papakowhai) in the early 60s through to the 70s and knew none of the history apart from the existence of the lagoon!
A straightforward find, cache in good condition.

I read that it was a drive by so I drove there and grabbed it. Quick find. TFTC
Nice quick find here today, left boys in car eating there ice creams while I jumped out located cache, signed it and back on the road again.
Visiting my sister nearby in Aotea, so I took the opportunity to grab a few nearby caches that I hadn't previously found. Another nice quick find here, TFTC!
A nice easy one to bring me up to 500 for the year. Quiet here today apart from the odd dog-walker. TFTC
I seemed to be racing a jogger between caches. I won!! A quick find thanks.
Well, work has finished for the year, and it is time for the annual road trip to Auckland. Today was from Picton to Paraparaumu.
Thanks for the hide.

A nice quick find. The lagoon was practically empty today, just lots of mud and the odd puddle.

I always enjoy reading cache descriptions which contain historical information. Thanks for that.
I wasn't able to park where I wanted to thanks to a fleet of buses hogging spaces. It just needed a short walk though and my GPSr led me to the correct spot for an instant find.

A quick find while out and about this morning. The GPSr took me to the wrong tree at first (which also had signs of a possible cache hide) but then settled after a couple of minutes and took me to the right place. Signed log, TFTC
Nice quick find after a detour that has avoided us up till now due to rain and darkness. Cache in good order. TFTCSL
I'm always happy to detour for a cache after coffee and chocolate cake. Found with bkj97 on the way to town. T4TCSL
Quick find and my final one today on sunny afternoon of caching. GPS spot on for this one and I was nicely hidden from road by parked buses. Thanks for the cache.
There are approximately 100 Geocaches that I have found over the last month or so and have not found time to log, so I do honestly and sincerely appologize for the lack of originality in my log for this cache, as it will be the same as several others, I am just trying to keep my page up-to-date with my real-time caches (I'm logging my caches on the date-of-find, nonetheless), and since it was found so long ago I don't remember it clearly enough to write anything specific about it. [Log written on the 13/12]. Thanks very muchly for the cache!
Nice easy find today while in the area for the CITO event. It seems that everywhere we stop for a quick cache these days turns out to be one of Just-Lookin's caches. Thanks for bringing us here and great piece of history on the cache page too. SLTFTC
A quick find today, after struggling on my first visit some weeks ago. All made perfect sense this time, and appears I didn't extend my search far enough, or in the right direction on my first visit .
Very nice to get the smiley today.

Nearly got muggled by a parked bus driver nearby but manged to avoid him spotting us! Quick find, TFTC
Mycro Man wanted to go on a Train Ride at the Aotea Lagoon, but for some unknown reason the train was closed today. So we decided to quickly grab this one before heading home to watch a movie. Thanks for the cache.
Have walked past here frequently, when walking the dog, on the way to the larger lagoon. TFTC

Quick find while Mrs S was visiting a school in Titahi Bay. Just had to wait until the mower man had his back turned before moving in to make the find. TFTC
Cache # 2,023 - A quick find, just as advertised. Very busy area, between the cars, the walkers, the joggers, the busses and the cars that seem to pull over and just sit there by the side of the road. Waited 5 minutes before leaving our vehicle (did this with Violet Butterfly) and everything was clear. As we were signing the cache looked up to see a car had parked in front of ours with the woman inside curious as to what we were doing. I somehow doubted she got out to go rummaging herself (lol). TNLNSL. TFTC!
Did today with The Wandering Dragons. Quick find, nice little area. Good to have a quick one today, as neither of us are feeling particularly well. Thanks!

A quick find. Interesting history here, driven along the road so many times and never had any idea of how it was formed, I just thought it had always been like that!

Took a look late this arvo to make sure cache still intact and confirm it is in place. Thanks for the log Caligulanz as I took iphone & garmin up to confirm co-ords which I have updated and should help make for an easier find

Hmmm, not sure what was going on here for me today. Appears to have been easily spotted by others. Co-ordinates put me in the middle of the road, so I extended my search on both sides of the road. Only found one hint item of significance, and no cache under that. May just have been too well re-hidden for me today.
2TF FDF. Well done on your first FTF, despite the GPS dancing round and not wanting to stick to one side of the road!
Quick find on the way home from work thanks! Was a bit worried about looking suspicious at rush hour but snuck in between cars and luckily it was in the first place I looked. Sat nicely hidden from cars and signed the log.
Oh and thank you for the history, I didn't know that's how the lagoons were created! In fact it was only a month or so ago that I was talking to LCBuilder about how unnaturally straight the edge of the harbour was and now I know why!
Just realised this was my 600th find! Wow thanks
