Ahoy there Bandits

Once agin I be sittin' ere sippin' on a Captain Morgan rum (stronger this time) as i'm scratchin' me travels in th' ship's log. Let me tell e about th' interestin'' travels we had today. Once agin our ships sextant device had us sailin' all o'er th' seas, it must be a landlubber device 'cause it seems t' hide some o' th' marks on th' map 'til we've well passed by. We started our our sailin' track where we left off yesterday 'n meandered our way t' th' main prize, leavin' some booty fer tomorrow.

We found yer map close ter whence th' navigator said we best be lookin'. It says we were supposed t' find some dubloons along th' way to the chest, but some lubber bust 'ave taken them cuz we found nowt on our trek. We found th' treasure at 12:06:00 PM today. Th' booty be in good condition, we looted naught but left a smiley badge 'n scrawled our mark on th' parchment inside. Thanks fer th' hunt today.

Cap'n Ian an First Mate Penny.

Went out today to collect a few of the caches on the Bandits Treasure hunt and before to long I had collected over 20. Thank you Bandits for all the effort that must have gone in to making this treasure hunt possible.

Attempted 40 of the series today before I ran out of daylight. Had a great day trundling round the forestry tracks and appreciated the cache placement near room to park out of the way. But the GPS was all over the place, compass spinning and reading up to 20m off at GZ, so really had to rely on my caching senses. This was certainly no powertrail, and DNF'd four of them.

Spent a while on this one. Not sure if there were coins to be found at the landmarks, because I didn't find any!

Thanks Bandits.

In town to celebrate a number of family birthdays - the perfect opportunity to follow in the tracks of Jack Sparrow in his quest for treasure in "Them thar Hills" On a 50yo Birthday tip off from the B/dale bandits back in 2014. "Aargh Me Hearties" - great scenery, history, mystery and treasure among the mountains. Not to mention the heart pumping climbs and strangling spider webs! So many dark places defended by artillery or other perilous weapons we encountered thru' the adventure.

Apologies for the late logs, we are still catching up after an almost fatal computer meltdown.

Thanks B/dale bandits for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Time for some real treasure huntin' Razz
With a proper map 'n' all Smile
Findin' the map was me first problem !!

So I found the 'Pirate' setting on me GPS,
which helped me find the starting point and map,
by switching off the satellites Smile
Pirates never had satellites for navigation Wink

With map in paw,
I was soon on me way to "X" Big Grin

Thankfully the ships crew had experience at these treasure hunts as the search for the map was fruitless, other treasure was spied strewn around the ground( put back were it should be) but no map to be had. Captain took the lead and ventured forth into the unknown with blind faith in his abilities. Shiver me timbers he made the find, guess thats why he made captain. Merriment and a jig or two followed and then back to the ship we raced. Tftc

The SSwhitewebbs set off from van dieman's land a few weeks ago and today they neared Bairnsdale and set out to plunder the area. We had a great day finding 41 pirate themed caches and searched hard for some others we couldn't plunder. We appreciated the time and effort that went into creating this series. Thanks for the fun. Now for the cache hunt, we located the map and followed the trail up the hill and around and found the booty. Recorded the clue. TFTM

After another long sabbatical away from the hunt Twisted, it was time to get out and find some treasure againBig Grin. So with the geo pirates loaded and me first officer aboard this time, we set sail to collect a bit more of that pirates treasure.
The junior crew had done a couple of these ones before and where very excited to do another CoolCool. With map soon in hand and calculations started [^] it wasn't long before loot was discovered, oh and what loot it was SurprisedSurprised. For the junior crew it was like xmas had come early Big GrinBig Grin.
A big thankyou to B/dale bandits from the geo juniors.

Once more in charge of the map reading (I learnt my lesson from the previous three maps) I headed off in the general direction - UP - with misschief18 following and Bentley TB bounding along in front. My counting might have been a bit off but the first clue was quickly in hand, with the bounty quickly following. Clue number four to the final was also quickly noted down. Another great idea in a beautiful area. Thank you to Lisa for giving us the opportunity to explore this great country. A favourite from me

Arrr, we quickly dropped the anchor of "The Silver Ghost" and set out to find this treasure. The Captain (taurus1955) led the way, but first mate (Bentley TB) always tried to lead and had to be called back into line. I (Pegleg) watched carefully for any other pirates that may have been lurking behind the trees. Left a pirate coin here. Giving a favourite for the container, the variety of loot it contained and the special location. TFTC

One guy and a girl - three nights camping - East Gippsland

We decided to go somewhere camping over the Easter break, Friday saw us have a sleep in, head down the road caching as we went and doing something rare, setting up the tent in daylight! A bit of night caching topped the day off. Saterday started relaxing in the tent before a late breakfast then hitting The Bandits Pirate Hunt series. We made it back to camp for a bit of cow on the weber before venturing to the Bairnsdale Speedway. All in all a great day!!

The Bandits Pirate treasure hunt series saw us winding around the bush, weather was great, with a few memorable caches. As time was getting away from us we decided to grab the last multi before heading back, hmmmm a Patrol parked here, what do you reckon they are doin? Up the hill were littlemerpip and
Lagavullin3, they already had the map, introductions were made and we continued to GZ. Not often you come across fellow cachers!

Thanks for the cache B/dale Bandits!!!

After spending some time in the forest on rally preparations, lagavullin3 and I found ourselves on Howitt Spur Road only a short distance from this cache so off we went to hunt it. Drove down Blacks Camp Rd (which we will be using for the car rally at the end of March!) and pulled off the road not far from GZ. Following the GPSr and after checking a few spots we had what we needed to do in hand. Walking up the hill we found the next spot easily and just as we were about to continue on, we saw another couple of people walking up the hill towards us! The chances of someone else being here are rather remote so waited for them to approach and meeting the ktcvic team! After a quick introduction we all continued the hunt and had the cache in hand after a short walk. This is a nicely done multi and it was very well laid out, thanks to B/dale Bandits for this one.

While spending a couple of weeks camping at Tambo Upper we decided to head up this way and do as much of this series as we could. By the end of the first day (we took our time, and didn't start very early) we still had about 15 caches to go. However, as we were enjoying ourselves so much, we decided to return the next day and complete the series.
We found every cache to be a well themed surprise with a few being very memorable. We only logged a couple of DNF's over the two days. The multi's were something we hadn't done before and we thought they were a lot of fun.
All in all we had a great time and learnt a bit on our way and got to visit a different part of the country.

Very glad to be invited along as part of the pirate party to find several caches in the area. Thanks to the B/dale bandits for all the trouble they have gone to put all these caches in the area. Hope to find some more of them another day.

South Coast January 2015. I spent a few sunny days exploring from Eden to Orbost and beyond. A very interesting part of the country. It took me a while to get to the right spot to access these caches, but then the fun started. I found that my GPS did not like the trees at all and all of these had to be found using caching sense most of the time. The collection of containers was very interesting and apart from a few DNFs it was a great day caching in the forest, even if it was 40 degrees ! The multi's you have in this series were a great idea, and made this sport even more like cross country navigation. Thanks.

This is definitely a finally found it. Again the technology was struggling as the first part of the multi was finally along side and our broadside had forced it to divulge its treasure. Again old fashioned navigation came to the fore, and the crew were able to snatch the treasure. The Nomads of the seas were in attendance regaining the last piece of their treasure map.
What stunning ideas and execution in the construction of this cache. Another immediate favorite. SL and cleaned up after the attack. When all was shipshape, the Nomads of the Caribbean, with treasure map in hand, set off to parts unknown and I thought that it was time to go home, having spent at least an hour longer in these dangerous waters that the plans had allowed for. Did these plans get carried out, or was there a mutiny? Check out logs for the missing multi's to find out!

Now that the bananas have got the hang of the system if was now a little easier.
But that doesn't mean that it is any less enjoyable.
Far from that.
For these hides are not only well put together, they are fun to do.
Probably the best way to do a multi the bananas have ever seen done.
And I hope that B/dale bandits don't mind for in the back of our mind thus idea is going to be used somewhere else.
Sort of a badge of honour for the success here.
And then of top of that the landscape is just wonderful.
All that work to put the mud on the outside of the tree. Never seen anyone go to that much trouble before.
But that just shows how much effort has gone into this series.
And certainly deserves a favourite.
Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Love this game.

***FTF*** For the greynomads. We got going early today with the intention of doing the Multi caches in this huge series by Bairnsdale Bandits - well done Lisa. Things did not go well with our first try but things got better with this #11. This area has lots of hiding spots and GPS reception can be a bit 'hit and miss' at times. Aeroguard, a torch and a sturdy poking stick are essentials in this area.

Where on earth did you get so much 'Pirate' paraphernalia Lisa ? Such a large amount swag here, kids will be pleased !!! In keeping with the theme of this series I shall sharpen my navigation skills and scour the Spanish Maine for a suitable crew that can be pressed into some sort of gang to pillage and plunder in the hunt of missing bounty. Well done Lisa. A Favorite coming your way. Left the Pathtag for others to move on.
