Quick find once the information loaded. The log is a little damp. TFTC!!

Spotted this little sucker from the Geovehicle before getting out. A bit wet, but waterproof sheets make signing possible. TFTC.
Last day of our trip, and with the family catching a few extra zzzzzzzs I snuck out for one last cache. Picked up a few adventure labs an oldie and a few trads that will help with a few challenges im working on.Cache was found quickly log signed and safely returned to its rightful place for the next finder.Off to the next I go before returning to Brisbane.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cs he available for fellow cachers to find.Cheers.
I found this cache with scramping on our way to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra. Another country pub that is gone. Thanks for bringing us to this location and for the cache, chooknchunk.
Found with hevwalker on our trip to GeoBash Canberra. Dropped in for a quick drink but the bar was dry......but there was a cache...hooray. We quickly had the logbook signed and replaced as found and set off to find the new cache...TFTC xxxxx
We checked on this area yesterday and are now satisfied that this cache can be safely re-enabled.
Important Notice:While the major fire front has been suppressed, there is still fire activity in the area in the form of smouldering stumps and trees. Local agencies are still attending to hot spots, falling trees and road damage, and may be doing so for the next few weeks. Many roads are still closed or are open for local resident access only.PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND ANY CACHE THAT HAS BEEN DISABLED DUE TO THE BUSHFIRES, regardless of whether you think it is safe or not. Any 'Found It' logs while this cache is disabled for this reason will be subsequently deleted. We will check out each location and arrange re-enabling of caches as access and safety allows.Thank you for your understanding.Jo and Glen (chooknchunk)
This cache is an an area subject to fire fighting operations (22-23 Feb) and may have been impacted by the fire. It has been disabled until it is safe for the CO is able to check the current condition of the cache.
On a day out with deanside and tenkae, our main target was a nearby golden oldie but we couldn't resist stopping off on the way there, just for a few short detours. This one was a quick find, thanks. Wish we could have seen the original building in all its glory.
Spending a wonderful day caching with great friends Tenkae and ConnieandRick. Love the historical info! Thanks chooknchunk for bringing me here and contributing to this great game for others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside
Found by The Empire + HWe had been yearning for a break from the daily grind, and the prospect of heading into the bush was like a breath of fresh air. The cityscape gradually faded into the rearview mirror as the road stretched endlessly before us. We rolled down the windows, allowing the sweet scent of blooming eucalyptus trees to fill the car. As we approached Ballarat, the landscape began to change. Rolling hills dotted with wildflowers started to emerge, and the colors of spring painted the world in shades of green and gold. Time to change the shoes to avoid getting too wet! A quick find, thanks for the cache chooknchunk.- M
Next stop on the run around the area and after a chat to local about a few things and mentioning geocaching, he told the cache was on the fence...and the next one around the corner was in a log. He wasn't a cacher, but he certainly knew about these couple. Small place I guess.
Cache was found as per the hint...both in the listing and from the local. Signed the log and I was off around the corner.
Thanks again chooknchunk...

With a main aim of the Ballarat GeoTour, the Rutherglen Easter Series, Brolga Bill's Bike Trail (BBBT), and Brolga Bill's Puzzles (BBP), a group of us headed down from Canberra/Goulburn. What a great day it was driving around the Ballarat region. A Beautiful City. The next cache on our list. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, them continued on to the next cache on our list.
Thanks chooknchunk !!

Ballarat and Rutherglen Christmas 2022 Trip. Day 3. Yesterday was a full day completing the Ballarat Geo Tour caches. Today Fitzy_1965, Smitten Granny, Kitty Katch, Joolay and albida33 jumped in one car and headed a bit further afield to do the Christmas tree puzzle series and a few older caches well to the north of Ballarat. Next on the agenda was getting to the challenge Caches that could be driven to a bit south of town. The final activity of the caching day was some of the LAB caches around town. At then end of the day we met up for a great dinner before retiring for a well earned night.
As we headed from old cache to old cache we stopped for a cache or two and a bite of food for lunch.
Thanks for the cache chooknchunk

A much cooler day today with scattered showers while travelling with Albida33, Fitzy_1965, Joolay and Kittykatch. First up we attacked the presolved Christmas Series then headed north for some older caches before returning south for the challenge caches and whatever else might pop up.
Thanks for the company to my geobuddies and the caches to all COs. Logs were signed as BCI 22 as it stands for Ballarat Christmas Invasion.

A quick driveby while staying with friends near Raglan. Learn a bit of the hotel's history from a local who now owns the property anf gave me a hint where to find the cache . TFTC.
We have sold the shop in Avoca, and we need to clean it out before we settle in a few weeks. We took a different route as we had found all the caches on the other routes we have taken to get to Avoca in the past. Neither of us had ever heard of the township of Chute, only the author. We made a quick stop here and could see the cache from the road. The log was quite wet, but we dried it and added our names, and returned it to its spot. It appears the O ring has perished, and this would be how the water is getting in. Thank you for this cache chooknchunk.
Travelled out to Avoca to join in the celebration events and explore an area I’ve not been to before.
Continuing my adventure around the countryside and found this cache hanging around. Inked the logbook and carried on my caching adventure.
Thanks chooknchunk for the cache.

I love this area north of Beaufort. Gorgeous hills and really pretty with the low cloud and rain. A property you probably wouldn't look twice at if you were driving by, but that's what makes Geocaching so interesting; you get to learn much more about the places you go past on your journeys.
A weekend away, hosted by the lovely chooknchunk. Today’s guided tour - Ben Major and surrounds.
The first for the day. Another interesting location.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, chooknchunk

It seems like forever ago since AusFox; Neville_devil and I had made it out for a big day of caching. AusFox; had his eye on some unloved days that had been building on some caches on Mt Cole so that was our destination for the adventure.
When the target caches where done we turned our attention to other caches in the area.
Here we thought we were about to be given the third degree from some locals but they knew all about the cache and others in the area too.
Thank you chooknchunk for the hide

First time in a while that I’ve been out caching with SimsFamily and Neville Devil for the usual laughs, insults and amazing locations regardless that the white beast has height issues.
We headed for Mt Cole to start the day, then on to Waterloo, Beaufort and Rokewood and everywhere in between which made for great locations and hides which made for a great day out.
As we arrived we were greeted by a local who informed us where the cache was and told us of another close by (local visitor advise).
They continued across the road with their wheelbarrows.
Log signed and replaced as found

Re-enabling now the Victorian Covid19 restrictions say we can "participate in some recreational activities, adhering to the rules". Please use common sense, maintain social distancing, attend to hand hygiene and stay safe.
Temporarily disabling this cache due to the Corona Virus.
Geocaching is not "essential travel".
It puts others at risk when you travel unnecessarily, no matter how isolated a cache may be.
Please stay at home.

Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. Unfortunately the log was very wet and difficult to sign as the ink from existing logs and new logs is smearing and smudging. Thanks chooknchunk for the cache.
Hatzofff and I are now on a short six night break from QOGM 2019 preparations, and have three of those nights in the Raglan area with chooknchunk. Thanks guys!
Today was our second day, and we explored some caches in the Raglan to Waubra to Beaufort area.
Great history. Love caches in areas that teach us something. It was very wet underfoot today - hatzofff got soggy socks!
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 10.26 AM on 24th August 2019. TFTC, chooknchunk.

Saturday. Event day. International Geocaching Day. WooHoo!
Maybe I'm the last to log this one for the 17th.
But then again, it has only been a week and for some reason there were an awful lot of geocachers in town that day.

Another cache found on our meander towards Beaufort after being up on top of the world at Major views. Thanks chooknchunk for keeping the history alive via geocaches, otherwise we would have just zoomed past totally unaware.
I came to Beaufort for an event, and went home with 38 smiley's - what a great weather we had for caching. Nice quick find with au.fait and Alansee.
Thanks for the cache, chooknchunk.

After making a start on finding some of the new wherigos in the area, family Perpetuallylost decided to head further afield for a bit more sightseeing and so headed up to Waterloo and Mt Lonarch. Thought this was going to be a quick find but with so much water laying on the side of the road finding a spot to get to the cache proved difficult. Eventually found the cache, which had a very wet logsheet due to the seal missing, but thanks to the all weather paper i was able to sign it. Another interesting part of local history, thx chooknchunk.
Wasn't going to come this way but the pull of the caches are strong. I started by ignoring where my GPSr was taking me and thought that I knew better. After searching very thoroughly here I decided that maybe my GPSr was telling the truth especially after rereading the cache page and the hint. Well, off I trotted and straight into a very watery ditch. Luckily, it was a beautiful Winters Day and the subsequent wet shoes, feet and jeans weren't too much trouble. I located the cache exactly where I was pointed to in the first instance but, it all adds to the excitement of caching.
My dad put that sort of cladding on a house that we used to live in and, I hate it. It is interesting that they won it in a Radio competition

Found while out and about with au.fait and muzza today. An easy enough find today, with the owner of the place gardening when we arrived, but disappeared to leave us in pleace.
Having completed the Musical Gully series it was time for Alansee Muzza and myself to continue the never ending search Heading towards home but still caches to find and an event to attend in Geelong yet Leapt over the ditch and kept our feet out of the water at GZ while signing the cache Thanks ChooknChunk
We were so grateful that it wasn’t at water level because the place is literally flooded.
Cache high and dry but the log is wet, however it’s waterproof paper ( o ring is missing)
TFTC an easy find with interesting history.
Plenty of noisy peacocks present.

Day two of my break had me leaving Lexton and heading south west today.
Another piece of local history and you cannot really tell that it wa# an old hotel by looking at it.

Having a couple of days caching in and around Ballarat as well as a country drive. Unfortunately the weather turned anti-caching so looking forward to being down this way over Xmas/New Year to see more of this lovely area of Victoria. Sorry about the generic logs but appreciate the time and effort that all COs have given to place these caches in your areas. Happy caching to all.
Visiting Ballarat and decided to go out into the countryside to do some caches. The weather was not the best - some moments no showers and next there was. Found a few caches and this was one of them. Thank you to all CO's for the placement of these caches in the locations. TFTC
No one around early in the morning on a working day, just singing birds and crowing rooster. Log was a bit wet, but gave it a wipe and was able to write on it. TFTC and showing me around this very interesting area
Today we had 2 main caches in our sights to help towards the Ausmer Challenge! Now that we had found them both we could concentrate on other caches that we had ignored on the way to Forte's Ground, this was the second of those.
GMelbs GPS again led him one way, my phone the other, this time my phone was on a winner but I hadn't spotted the cache yet, GMelb did when he came to join me lol
TFTC and the history of the house/hotel. Fancy winning it in a radio competition!!! There was smoke coming out of the chimney but we didn't see anyone - GJMMelb

Quick fly-past maintenance check after the report of a wet logbook (thank you - much appreciated).
The nice thing about stone paper is that on a sunny day like today, a quick dab with the towel and its nice and dry again. Its still the original logbook and a few of the earlier signatures are fading but other than that its still going strong. Don't forget to wave to the neighbours in the hotel if you see them out and about. They love us geocachers learning about their historic house.

Tripping around the area with chooknchunk and semi-muggle mate Spud after the events in Beaufort today.
It is great that so many of these old buildings have survived. An area so rich in history so long after the gold rush has faded.
Thank you for placing this cache for us and others to find chooknchunk.

TFTC. We were in Beaufort for the two weekend events. We had been on caching runs to the south and the east and today we were heading north. We had plotted out a loop from Beaufort through Raglan and Waterloo and back to Beaufort. We thought a couple of hours before lunch and then relax and enjoy the afternoon sunshine.
We can imagine the number of hotels on the goldfields. We haiku from Williamstown and I can still remember the number of hotels in a small area. They are greatly diminished today. If only the wall of these old hotels could talk.

We believe that you guys should go and work at the information centre you have so much knowledge of the local area. We do wonder if at any point in the future that the hotel will be restored to it's former glory. Probably not practical but it would be interesting. SL TFTC
A quick and easy find as we cache our way around the Beaufort area today. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

Oops went straight past this one on my way to Cyril. ANyway tunred back for it after a short trip to Raglan and back. SO logged this one at 12.29pm. Log was damp so quickly stretched it out and dried on top of the bonnett. This seemed to do the trick and returned to its hide in tact. TNLN TFTC chooknchunk
More interesting local history to be read and viewed. Our devices had us on the same side as the house/hotel initially and we couldn't find the cache DOH....we realised our mistake when eventually the phone decided it wanted to be across the road.
Thanks chooknchunk for the placement here at the historical structure.....we would really love to see it stripped and see the original materials underneath.

I was pleaded that there was no one sitting on the verandah across from GZ as I approached. The cache was easily visible so made for a quick find. Now into Beaufort for some lunch before an assault on the CH series.

Today we left the house at 8am and returned at 9.30pm. Not a huge count today, instead we managed some fantastic (& killer!) walks with amazing views. A great day!
