Trouve ! / Found it ! Trouve vite fait au bord de route. La bote n'a plus de couvercle mais reste au sec...4507me cache trouve.Merci Nic-jay pour la cache found quickly on the side of the road. The box no longer has a lid but stays dry...4507th cache found.Thank you Nic-jay for the cache
A quick find among the spider webs. Lost its lid but all dry. Thanks for the cache.
I stayed in Upper Hutt last night for a wedding. Despite having lived here for six years, I don’t think I ever visited Whiteman’s Valley.
No problems finding a parking spot and walking the short distance to GZ. Unfortunately, the likely hiding spot was guarded by the biggest spider I have ever seen. Interestingly, it seemed like a different type to any I’ve seen before, so I’ll look it up to try and figure out what it was. I did try various other spots just in case, but no luck

TwigNZ is desperate to get just a few more caches before the mega, and I am always keen to help, so we headed up Whitemans Valley.
Nice and easy. The cache is getting brittle from UV/heat damage. No lid any more.

Tomorrow after work I will start my journey north to attend the Auckland MEGA, which will be my 5,000th cache if I can engineer my caching before Saturday to make it so. Knowing that the weather forecast for tomorrow is less than favourable, I really wanted to find some caches tonight to release some of the pressure, so the Seagnoid and I headed out to Whitemans Valley to see what we could find.
We didn't turn here, but we may have parked up close by in order to search for this one. A very quick find in the first place I looked due to the accurate co-ords. The container is missing its lid, and therefore the log is damp, but otherwise it's ok.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Straight forward find. The cache needs maintenance. Top crumbled with brittleness.log was wet and hard to remove. Tftc.
I scored some cheap flights to Wellington for the weekend! I had a great time exploring and finding caches!! TFTC!
Out this way today for bit of a tiki tour around a place we use to live. I’ve even run around here but never taken time to stop and do any caches. Had some time off in the evening with Gr33nslime so we decided to pop up here a couple of times and work through some of the local caches. Some of the Trads were easy to get, others like Bunyip’s Bog with a real stick in the mud, as in take a stick and drag it through the leaf little till you hit pay dirt (and not mud). In the end it was always a nice quiet evening to come up and get some caches done while enjoying the serenity of the area.
# 1340 So near by again looking for that extremely challenging bog based cache near by. Thought it was about time to pick up a few of the others along this stretch. JimmyNZ made the find here and pretty easily. The log was just a rolled up chunk of brown goop so I deftly flicked it out and replaced with a sheet of waterproof paper, that should last a few more finds. Spent a bit of time just enjoying the river and the nice evening with the screeds of cicadas around. Cheers nic jay for this one.
Found it, but couldn’t retrieve the log book out of cache as it has now turned brown. Needs some maintenance here
Parked just past, and walked back. Cache in first place I checked, nice one. Log too wet to sign. Replaced as found.
With my current visit to the area winding down into the last few evenings, and still having a car at my disposal, I decided to take advantage of the (unusually) ambient weather to head out and grab a few caches. I did a loop from the back of Upper Hutt along Whitemans Valley and back into Silverstream via Blue Mountain Road. A dirty dozen finds for the evening but quite a lot of DNFs too which I see is the norm with some of those caches on that route. All in all a good side trip and just the thing to log them over a cold beer.
T F T C to all the COs for their placements.

Found while cycling the circuit from County Lane, Harcourt Park for morning coffee and around the Whitemans Valley and a great whiz down Blue Mountain Road. With it being a rare fine day it was a wonderful ride on River Trail and country roads. TFTC.
Nice quick find here even got asked by a cyclist if we had found what we were looking for.
Thanks for the placement and the smiley

I'm calling this a find. I found something matching the hint in the expected location but the log was blank and there was no cache ID that I could see. Clearly I am not the FTF and yet I was filling in the square reserved for the FTF. I don't know if the log was replaced without a maintenance note being posted or whether there is another cache here.
The weather is grim today, so a car-based trip around Blue Mountains and Whiteman's Valley until I run out of time. Quick, easy find, but I was glad I had a suitable extraction tool to hand. TFTC
Found during a car based cache mission due to the cruddy weather.
Nice little magnetic cache - missed it the first time around.

This one took awhile to find and was awkward to search for with all the cars going by. Found in the end though, TFTC
I must admit I was a little nervous on this one. No worries but kept an eye on the traffic. Not had as there was none. Cache was soon in hand. TFTC
2nd time here - quickly located in nearly first place I looked - glad to get this off the watchlist. Quite a bit of traffic (car and bike) today. TFTC

While you can reach the container without standing on the road it is a tiny little thing and so much easier to find if you do stand on the road. I missed it on the first pass as I was expecting something larger. TFTC.
Find # 2529. A third day of cycle caching from Petone to Maymorn and back using the Masterton train to get to Maymorn. Cycled back via Whiteman's Valley and the Hutt River Trail - 50km of cycling. Only a 100m rise in elevation from Maymorn to the top of Blue Mountains Road but a 200m descent to Silverstream - the train did all the work! Very quick find in nearly the first place I looked. SL TFTC
#1560. This one took me quite a while to find as I completely missed it in the first place I checked. So headed along checking all the areas that the hint object could be hidden. Must have spent a good 10-15 minutes searching everywhere on that bridge. Was about to give up when I tried the obvious places once again and couldn't believe it. There was the cache. Exactly the type of container I expected as well. Nevermind. Logbook was dry. Signed and returned as found. Another nice slice of rural living in Whiteman's Valley. Thanks for the cache.
I was fortunate to make a nice quick find of this sneaky little hide today between muggle drive-byes and rain showers. SL TFTC
A very cool cache and a change from the normal containers usually found on park and grabs. TFTC!
Logged as 2 x Wbond (Wbond-Jnr was with me). Found whilst standing on the end of the bridge.
#1832 Enjoying the afternoon sunshine with a wee trip to collect some caches. Spotted three goats scrambling up the bank as we approached GZ- a couple of very cute kids! Quick find here as I managed to look in the right spot first- wahoo! TFTC!
I have replaced the missing cache. Please take care to hide it exactly as you find it.
Was with mealmate aswell and didn't find it bit disappointed but oh well! Please confirm if still there or not!
Easy find thanks

Fairly quick park and grab while out on a drive through Whitemans Valley taking geo-grandma out for a coffee at the short straw. TFTC.
Cache # 2,270 - Another nice quick find with Astro Hunter and Violet Butterfly, and a relief after the very long DNF just prior to this. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Did with Violet Butterfly and The Wandering Dragons today. Thanks!

Yet another cache located in an afternoon foray into Whitemans Valley with Chrisval7. TFTC
Found while out and about with our grandchildren, on a visit to NZ from South Australia.
I searched for a wee while in the wrong place but I spotted the cache as soon as I decided I would need to expand the search area. TFTC.
Came over this way to do a job for work on a Saturday morning and grabbed a few caches before heading home. TFTC
Not quite where I expected it to be but still a fairly quick find in the rain this afternoon. Signed log, TFTC
#5896. Passed GZ ... so walked back. Spotted it on approach. Replaced as found. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Find number 10 of a personal daily best of 30.
Attempting to clear out the caches in Whiteman's Valley. I had to run back to the bridge to grab the cache as I discovered the place I had pulled over was a driveway so I didn't want to be hanging around too long. TFTC

Stunning day, early summer? A foray into the upper reaches of the Hutt.
No turning back now.
Cache find was straightforward after a bit of peering and poking; log signed, cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

A nice afternoon for a country drive. I enjoyed my hour in the country. Thankfully the cache was very visible and a quick find, not sure I'd place a cache in this situation. TFTC
Out and about on a wee caching mission with Yeetrees. Just tidying up a few caches around Whitemans Valley and enviroins.

Quick park and grab, had to patk where the bus turns and walk back to locate tge cache. Found with jax479 TFTC.
nice horse nearby. Found today with Selesi on a days caching thru Moonshine Rd and Whitemans Valley. TFTC
A sideways look from a passing cyclist while we put our best nonchalant looks on (why would two adults lurk in such a spot?), cache retrieved and then we DID turn here and wander back to the vehicle. With metal-art enjoying the lovely Whiteman's Valley/Mangaroa drive.
Beautiful sunny day today to collect a few of the Hutt Valley caches with tmann421. Nice quick find by tmann. Enjoying this series of caches and great containers. TFTC Nic-jay
