A beautiful day to be out this beautiful area with Happy Feet and Omegaman1971. What a beautiful part of Australia to explore. Without Geocaching I would never have found so many interesting places in my travels. We really are so fortunate.
A short search, found cache, stamped and returned... Another one down in the series. Had always wanted to do this as a GeoTour - **BUT** 'you snooze you lose' Cache Container is still in situ - Not sure why this was archived.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment Lake Eildon GeoTour. Appreciate your effort.

Apparently I am very difficult to by presents for so when it came to Christmas time the family had no idea what to get me. The muggle-missus did some inter-web searching and saw the Lake Eildon Geotour and booked me a hotel for a few nights as a gift from Santa.
I stumbled on this one almost by accident. I was in the area looking for information and must have spent too long looking at my phone because I was approached and asked whether I was looking for the geocache. I replied that I knew where the cache had been but that I was under the impression that it was no longer in play. My helpful muggle said that it was still there so I found it and signed the log. After caching at the recent Mega with Roostaman an honeysucker plans were made to do a few days caching around the Eildon area, with the vans set up at Alexandra Show grounds we had three days of touring the area finding some fantastic caches. Thanks Lake Eildon GeoTour for the cache.
**# 15472** Found on a perfect summer day with Rebel Acts and honeysucker.
We started on the L.E.G. series and also picked up a few other caches along the way.
Lots of excellent views, some 4wd tracks and not many muggles around.
Luckily this one was still here in place for us to find.
Thanks for the tour and the cache Lake Eildon GeoTour,

Please excuse the generic log for the series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series, even though I have a couple to complete for the whole deal.
As my wife had gone away for a few days, I figured it was a good time to do some caching and bonding with Crusty K9. This is one of the caches we found. tftc.

As the GeoTour evolves into a series we will be removing this cache location from the series. Any and all tb's will be collected and moved on.

Ever since the emergence of this tour, it's been on my high priority list of caches to do. Being born and bred Victorian, it had been a while since I had been to Eildon, so with the announcement that the tour was officially ending it's geotour status, I made plans to get down here before that occurred. I left Newcastle yesterday and arrived in Merton late that night to start the tour early this morning, and with sticking strictly to the caches on the tour, finished the tour in around 12 hours.
Well I finally made it to the start line on the tour, although by now I was a little over half way into it. Given this caches location, I wasn't sure what I would be up for in finding it. In the end, I couldn't believe it was just...there! I wonder what non geocaching folk think of it when they see it.
Gratias Lake Eildon GeoTour.

This is a log I forgot to log. I retrieved a TB from this cache and caused its owner much distress thinking it had been lost in an archived cache until much later on when it was "discovered" in my position at an event by a much more attentive logger than I.
Cache found and log signed at about 10:00am (my favourite type of container)[^]
To both the CO and the TBOwner....I'm sorry.

Found with Zobo04, Hearse068, BorisB&Natasha, Bounty Trackers, De Ja Vu, KTCvic and Velocachu . We signed the cache with our Geo Nerds Stamp. The plan was hatched to do this tour before it was finished. Accommodation booked and we were all good to go. Where else would you stay but in Bonnie Doon of cause. Oh The Serenity, We had a fabulous time gallivanting around the area with lots of laughs along the way. Nothing like being in the center of town . A fun cache TFTC
Found with the rest of the Geo Nerds. We had a great fun weekend traveling around the area guided by caches. Thanks heaps to all the CO's that put this great series together. We had a blast. TFTC
Knowing the GeoTour was to end soon prompted the geo nerds to plan another fun weekend of caching.
Another good find on this tour with some more stunning scenery to go with it. From the naked rolling hills to the dense pine forests, all so beautiful.
A special thank you to Lake Eildon GeoTour for the cache and all the effort for putting it together.

Gonefishen07 and I were talking about the Lake Eildon Geo Tour coming to an end and we decided to contact all the Geo Nerds to see if we could organise a weekend away to get together and get it done before it ended. Weekend was booked, house was booked and where all going to Bonnie Doon
Thanks to all those involved in this fantastic tour around Lake Eildon. All caches signed by the Geo Nerds.

Who wants to go up to do the Lake Eildon Geo Tour? That was the question asked, all said yeah so the Geo Nerds band got back together for another fun filled few days. Accomodation was booked at Bonnie Doon with name of Serenity, cue the many references from the beloved Castle!
Saturday saw ten of us pack into two Prados full on a fair trek around Lake Eildon, finished by the GIFF event at Acheron and the last two L.E.G Caches due to the roads being closed for Targa Rally on Sunday.
Ventured to GZ, Trent got out and made the find, grabbed TB.
Thanks for the great series!!

Log was stamped as Geo Nerds consisting of Gonefishen07,Borisb&Natasha, Hearse068, Zobo04, DeJaVu, Velocachu, KTCvic and myself Bounty Trackers.
Gonefishen came up with the plan of doing the Lake Eioldon Geo Tour before it was gone, so we all agreed, Lets get up there and do it.
KTCvic was straight on to booking a place that would sleep 10 people in Bonnie Doon for our 2 night stay.
Gonefishen Borisb&natasha and Hearse068 and myself all meet up in Pakenham so we could cache our way up while DeJaVu and KTCvic where coming up later as they had to work. BorisB&natasha gave the keys to the Prado as she wanted to be a lady of leisure and be chauffeured.
We laughed all the way and just had a fantastic weekend away with great friends, cant wait until the next adventure.
signed log thanks for the cache.

Our eighth geotour cache for our second day touring. We knew we in the right place when the locals working here gave us the thumbs up. After the hard work it was off to a local Cafe for an early dinner and the submission of our Earthcache answers from earlier on.
Out for a day of geocaching and doing the L.E.G. caches in Eildon. At first we were not too sure about this one as the GPS kept taking us on to private property, but after a wave from the locals we knew all was OK and we were in the right spot. Mr Pooky then made the quick easy find. TFTC TNLN
JMelb of GJMMelb suffers from car-sickness quite easily and can't even be in the car reversing down our driveway without "feeling" it, so it was with a little bit of encouragement and advice from Geocachers of Victoria FB group we decided we would definitely do this L.E.G series for our Anniversary weekend away. Loaded up with Ginger Bears, Ginger beers, Lemonade, Ginger cordial and twisties we made it through the The Black Spur on the way here with very little trouble Yey!!
On the Friday night we had a notification of a new cache that was published near Marysville so we decided to divert on the way to see if we could get a FTF, which we did yey!!! Great start to our weekend!
Continuing on, we arrived at Eildon and saw the Lake Eildon Geotour sign!! Cool!! We came straight here for a nice easy find and we were feeling a bit conspicuous when we realised that of course the people here would know about the cache lolol!! Found the first answer to the crossword and we were on our way.

Find # 3451 @ 17:29
Found while doing a solo trip around the "LEG" caches.
No real major plans for the trip other than to attempt to find all the Tour Geocaches, maybe find the odd other cache, a spot of sightseeing and to enjoy what this part of Vic has to offer.
***EDIT****
Thankfully no Muggles around, but then again I guess the resident ones here would/should know all about the cache at their front door.
took the option on taking a seat on the comfy chairs to sign the log and log in a couple of TBs

2nd cache of the day near the premises of the co-sponsor. Easy find with this one as the place was empty when we visited. Needed a drive around to find the clues, asked a local and he did not know, lol. With a bit of luck we found what we wanted before preceding to LEG 2.

I see why this cache is a great TB hotel, so good that we dropped off three that have been with us for a while. Great tour and we were soon on our way. TFTC
Well. We weren't sure that the coordinates were putting us in the right spot. But it was right there. Felt a little uneasy approaching GZ. TFTC
We came, we saw, we found..
Cant believe we are ALMOST done... The tour is ALMOST complete.. Its been a MASSIVE day and we are all tired and hungry.. Thankfully this was a super quick find today :)

Having completed 2 of the L.E.G. series on our way up on Friday and then `13 right around the Lake today (Saturday) we decided we had just enough energy to knock these four and the final over. ( We had originally left these ones close to camp just in case we needed to do them Sunday morning before we left, we didn't want to be finding caches on the way hope towing our van) Still in Convoy Teamthommo in their GeoLandcruiser and Ms-enchantress and youngin's in her all-terrain Falcon we zipped around to do these hopefully giving us enough time go back to camp have tea ( Bushaman's Sysages of course!) and go to the twilight market. A quick find made by MS.

Well I don't know if after today's start I can call myself a cacher anymore... had a false start but got pushed onto the right track thanks to a PAF. Things can only go up from here, right???
The story of how I got to do the Geotour. I have 5 weeks of leave. I drove from where I'm living in Darwin down to Adelaide with my two geopups (who are in a kennel for a few days while I tour Vic). I spent a week in SA catching up with family. Then thought I would spend a week catching up with mates from Vic and spend a couple of days completing the Geotour. I am pretty chuffed with the effort today 15 in total after a bit of a confused start this morning. I want to thank all the owners and organisers of this Geotour, it has been great!!! Also Thankyou to the Melbourne catchers (they know who they are) who printed out the Geotour info for me, gave me a bed for the night in Melbourne before commencing the tour and being PAFs and general advice. I spent a fair bit of time in this area chasing rapids in a kayak for about 7 years so this part of vic is very familiar to me. I saw heaps of Rapids today and was rather tempted several times, but I have a mission.

Third find for the day in the Lake Eildon GeoTour, even though this is supposed to be number one (its messing with my head this out-of-order business). Loved the boldness of the hide, and thought it great that this business is a sponsor of the tour. Yay for great local businesses! Cache signed and returned, then crossword answer obtained, then time for yummy lunch at the bakery. Think we'll be back tomorrow for a dessert treat when we're back in town to complete the tour. Thanks GeoTour-ers
My map was showing the cache to be inside the real estate agents! A bit worrying on a sunday but we found it none the less. Tftc
Wow this cache is my 900th find ! I decided that the group tour would be a great start for my run to the big 1000 !! This cache was my first finding in such a obvious place !! Got muggled as someone walked out but just nodded said hello and quickly left ! Fav point from me
Mrs and kejajo89 jumped out and had this before I could make me self a potato chips sanga, love a quick drive by
Cool spot woohoo number one wife did the stealth mission fish opening weekend lovely and green here today
Lovely to see a large cache so boldly placed. Quick find thanks Lake Eildon GeoTour
We parked on the road opposite this GZ and quickly found the cache container here. Took the opportunity for a bite to eat from the onboard fridge, although a visit to the Bakery soon found us eating some tasty goodies. I'd recommend you at least try one of their Wagon Wheels, which I savoured for some time.
Thanks for another LEG Series cache placements here, also your great support to Geocaching in general.

A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way around the area today with mcsee&petal. The GPS was way off target for this one but a look at the hint soon had us back on track. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Suscoe had a big day today heading off bright and early to get around here to start the day at this cache, Over 100 kilometres to find the first one and then we found caches one by one on the way back to Eildon.
It was a delightful day, lots of fog early and then a sunny and mild day emerged.
Thanks to the Lake Eildon Geotour folks for this cache and for the work put into the tour.
We will have to return one day to complete the tour, however we do have a few hours tomorrow morning left and so a few more might be found.
Now off to the hotel for tea, we reckon the fire will be on.

Very cool. Great size, didn't swap anything. Thanks to the friendly real estate agent who assisted when the GPS wouldn't. TFTC. Oh, and this #100 for us!
After having spent some wonderfully relaxing time at Wakiti Creek Resort with Sewthat and Honeysucker, muggle partner and I decided to undertake the Lake Eildon GeoTour, accompanied by Brodie.
I'd heard about the GeoTour in detail at a meeting in Nuriootpa about a year ago when I first met Clever Monkey and since the GeoTour sounded so awesome, I'd wanted to do it ever since! [^]
It took us 3 days and we had lots of Ooohhhh moments while enjoying the scenery, a couple of Oh No what have we got ourselves into[?] moments while getting to caches, some Why can't we find the cache[?] moments thanks to cache thieves and some amazingly ongoing and supportive communication from CM throughout which was hugely appreciated [^]
Now that muggle partner has experienced some of the beauty in this area, I have much more chance of getting him back here again for an extended stay
Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.
Now this does feel strange, walking into this location to find a cache
A quick find and I remebered to both SL and to retrieve the clue
Now to find our way around Eildon to gather the crossword clues.
A pretty town and we bought supplies from the supermarket for the next few days, too.
Our thanks for your ongoing support of this GeoTour [^] because if it wasn't for the GeoTour, we wouldn't have been here!
Please keep in mind that I currently have no favourite points left otherwise every cache on this GeoTour would receive a FP for the wonderful adventure that this GeoTour provided

#**Parrots Quest to Lake Eildon Geotour to find their 10000 cache.**#
##Day 1##
We have finally made it to the Number 1 cache in the tour and our fifth for the day so far.
I signed the logbook whilst Mrs Parrot went to see John and Jenny over in reception at the Eildon Parkview Motor Inn ([03] 5774 2165).
This was going to be our base for the next 4 nights as we have given ourself plenty of time to enjoy this Geotour and get to see the local area whilst find the caches around the lake.
This motel was such a fantastic place to stay.
John was able to tell me about the roads up to Bonnie Doon which helped with my planning and they made sure we had a great stay. There were microwaves in the Laundry so we could heat up food to take back to our room.
The Birds, the birds, they were so tame and flocks of them were present whenever we went out to the grassed area.
A kangaroo greeted me one morning when I opened the door.
This was a great little town to stray in. Their was a petrol station and foodworks with a liquor store.
There was a couple of take away stores. I got a great Chilli chickem burger at one of them.
Checked out the towns artwork. Someone had added a beer bottle at his feet.
Such a pretty place to be the base camp for our adventure.
Then up to the Dam we went to have a look and get some information.
We found the little picnic spot over by the tower and then we had another celebration.
I made up a plater and got out some drinks.
Then at 5 o'clock we celebrated being Mr and Mrs Parrot for 37 years.
Thank you for bringing us here I am glad we chose this area to bring up these milestones.

Felt a bit awkward looking for it with no one around or inside the real estate. Laughed when I saw it!
I love a cache in plain sight! As we were doing the obligatories, and coughing (the burning off that we had seen from a distance all day was here, and the town was oh so smoky - not good for the washing we left on the line at the campsite!) I noticed a gent in the real estate office, which I knew was a sponsor of the GeoTour. Now coming from the big smoke (ha ha pardon the pun), I'm used to seeing real estate agents wear suits and business attire, not shorts and thongs (even with a business suit) so after getting over that shock, Mark seemed like a nice guy. We discussed the missing answer at Juddy's Hut (he didn't know what I was talking about) and gave me a laminated map of the area and a free pen along with his business card, showed me his geocoins (whose codes I took for discovery but I'm wondering whether they're activated?) and then pointing me in the direction of the War Memorial. I thanked him for his sponsorship and reiterated I wouldn't be here without the geotour before tactically disengaging and returning to the waiting mini Canary I had with me, who had been standing alongside the car for about 15 minutes in the smoke!
Day 4 of our Road Trip.
Tenth of thirteen for today.
My son made the obvious find with Skyebomonkeytown after chatting in the Real Estate.

It was a dark night, and the Motel guests were getting last things out of their cars before gathering in their rooms for the night. We, two shady characters, let them attend to their business until the car park was quiet and deserted. By now, it was a quick and easy swoop to get to the container. We prefer caching in the daylight and taking in lots of views, but here it was probably much easier to be sneaky under the cover of darkness.
Log signed, code retrieved, but no TBs in the hotel. Pity we did not have one to put in.
Thank you for another one of these amazing containers! Looking forward to tomorrow, the designated caching day of our trip.

TFTC. Nice easy find. Felt a bit strange at first but then realised that the occupants were Geotour sponsors. Not many people about so stealth was not a huge requirement.
33 degrees today & our first find around Eildon TFTC

Very obvious, easily found cache... Worried I was invading someone's property!!! tftc
My husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I really had nothing materialist that I really needed. So my 1st answer was, I want to do the Geotour at Lake Eildon. I just didn't think it would stick .... but here was the day, I had been packing the car the night before, car fully stocked with snacks & food, there was no reason not to go. The temperature was 25 and overcast and a slight breeze. It was one of the days that the road just took us. We rolled into Eildon destination travel bug hotel. We could not get a internet connection for awhile. I sat in the car, turning my phone off and on, whilst the other 3 Ninja's were confident that the big trees in the park were the perfect place and they wanted to show me they had it with no clue. I couldn't help but think travel bug hotel .... hotel. That surely isn't too much of a coincidence ???? Once we had read the hint, everything started to fall into place & the log was soon signed. Because it's a TB Hotel, we added another really special one for it's travels. MUST GET THAT CODE word ... snap & photo taken for grid & we were off for our adventure. One down of 20.
That awkward moment when you look like a total creep to the people within - even though they know what you're up to TFTC!
This one was super obvious, felt like we would be muggled really easily. Thanks for the cache
Today I had to drive up here to drop off my son who is camping near Lake Eildon with some school mates.
I stopped to find a few caches before driving back home to N.E. Melbourne.
This was my first stop, after eating a lovely sandwich from the bakery, in the park.
I dropped off two trackables and picked up one.

Yey first find in Eildon whilst visiting our caravan . Nice easy one to start . Tftc .

thanks to Lake Eildon GeoTour for putting this cache out for us to find
Found with simplicityisgreen and wild202. Finally got around to doing this cache after all this time. Didn't seen the owner today. TFTC
supa snooppa spotted this from the distance and had fun with the swaps inside it. He has learnt how to open these containers now.
As we were leaving we met the sponsor from the real estate and chatted for a while. We all decided this series is really great for the township. It was lovely here and the rain had stopped for the afternoon.

I spotted the cache as we walked up to GZ. I made some swaps and then talked to a man before we went for the next one.

Geotour weekend with atsmug and james, catching up on some old logs I forgot about
We did the caches on the tour in a funny order, making Eildon our last stop rather than "first and last". So this cache ended up being one of the last to find, looked past it a few times before spotting the box. Thanks for the cache and the tour.
Came out from New Zealand (via Melbourne) to collect this one for the special Geotour attribute. Had a pleasant chat with the guy at GZ, and this is a lovely part of the country- TFTC !
The one thing this cache highlighted to us, was the community support that has gone into this geotour. It's really great to see this happening.

In Eildon to finish off the LEG series with joegleeson_25 and we had to grab this one. Initially we were very glad it was late on the Sunday afternoon and the streets were deserted as grabbing this one would have been difficult without being in plain sight....but then we realised where we were and it would make for an easy find most times I think TFTC
A lovely helpful local suggested that we took so long finding it. Love the Eildon locals.
