Easy find. Careful parking in the nearest available spot. One of the locals warned us about a tree branch that is about to fall down.
Trouve ! / Found it ! 4170me cache trouve.Merci Nic-jay pour la cache 4170th cache found.Thank you Nic-jay for the cache
I stayed in Upper Hutt last night for a birthday party. Despite having lived here for six years, I don’t think I ever made it to Whiteman’s Valley.
It took me a few minutes to find the cache, as I was looking for the wrong cache type. It turned out to be an easy find once I worked out what was out of place.
I added a path tag to the container, which a subsequent finder is free to take if wanted.
Thanks to the CO for the cache and for bringing me out here

While heading out towards a challenge cache we are stopping for a few trads along the way. As promised, this was a quick park and grab. Thanks.
TwigNZ is desperate to get just a few more caches before the mega, and I am always keen to help, so we headed up Whitemans Valley.
Twig and I gave this a very thorough search. Odd... Why can't we find it? All the logs say it's easy - oh, and they say it is obvious. Which means it was right... there! We performed some proxy maintenance for the CO and installed a new cache, double containered with waterproof log. Enjoy!

Tomorrow after work I will start my journey north to attend the Auckland MEGA, which will be my 5,000th cache if I can engineer my caching before Saturday to make it so. Knowing that the weather forecast for tomorrow is less than favourable, I really wanted to find some caches tonight to release some of the pressure, so the Seagnoid and I headed out to Whitemans Valley to see what we could find.
WE parked up right by this cache, and I was expecting us to be back on our way again shortly, but no. We searched the wall for 10-15m beyond where we both reckoned it should be, but drew a blank. Reading previous logs, we knew it ought to have been straightforward, and even knew what we were looking for. We felt confident enough that it's gone, so decided to leave a replacement cache. No one should have any issues finding it.
Thanks for creating this cache.

Well done on the cache hide. Not difficult but you have to think about it. Everything looks the same. TFTC.

# 1677 A nice saturday drive over to Whitemans Valley. Havent been around here for a while, since I used to live in the area. I dont normally get more than one cache per day, but as I am nearing the end of the Mystery at the Museum Challenge, i actually needed a couple to finish it off. This might be my last or second to last... yay. I continued on from Stumped, just up the road, for another easy find in the obvious place. Happy that no one drove by while I was doing the business as it is rather exposed. Cheers Nic Jay, all good here.
I scored some cheap flights to Wellington for the weekend! I had a great time exploring and finding caches!! First place I checked! TFTC!
Down for the MEGA in Upper Hutt, Wellington, with NZTravellers, caching around the area.
Logs individually signed as "stik-a-crane" or "SAC" if space/time was short .
Time for the official photo celebrating the MEGA..
..thought the events were well managed considering a good sized turn out to the MEGA.
Thanks to all the CO"s for maintaining their caches ready for the onslaught...…

Day 4 of the Wellington Mega. By the end of this day we had done over 20000 steps the most walking the whole time we are here. So after the prize giving KJR and Natalie247 and I went off into the night to find and couple of challenge caches and some other. This was a quick park and and in to the next one. TFTC
Day two of our MEGA wellington adventure! The weekend was great and the Wellington caching community did a fantastic job of hosting the event and maintaining some great caches and the weather was perfect for caching! We started in Johnsonville and ended the day in Upper Hutt and the back and beyond caching to all hours of the night. TFTC!
A quick and easy find. A new area for me to cache in. Thanks
Found on a day spent driving up and down the Hutt Valley, finding a cache or two.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

WENZ Mega Weekend is finally here... After experiencing broken sleep at our accommodation, it was time to pull it together and get out there... With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and NZFlossy...
Saturday: We had some caching business somewhere out in the valley... So we climbed above Upper Hutt and cached our way onto the ridge and down into the valley beyond. We were pleased to make a very quick find, given the potential hiding spots. TFTC.

Day 1 of Wellington Mega
Today's mission was to register, collect lab caches, other events and hopefully 11 different cache types in 1 day.
Tall order but we made it with a few minutes to spare.
We also collected other caches that we had solved prior to coming.
Turned into a bit of a day so sorry for the copy and paste of logs.
Thanks to the cache owners for the placement of these caches.
Looking at the greater picture of the Wellington area we have only scratched the surface so will be back at some stage. SLTFTC

All 3 of the caches down this side road were all good, bonus. Replaced as found and on I go.
With my current visit to the area winding down into the last few evenings, and still having a car at my disposal, I decided to take advantage of the (unusually) ambient weather to head out and grab a few caches. I did a loop from the back of Upper Hutt along Whitemans Valley and back into Silverstream via Blue Mountain Road. A dirty dozen finds for the evening but quite a lot of DNFs too which I see is the norm with some of those caches on that route. All in all a good side trip and just the thing to log them over a cold beer.
T F T C to all the COs for their placements.

A nice easy find which was very much appreciated after a couple of DNFs! Thank you.

Took me longer to walk to this one than it did to sign the log, thanks for the placement and the smiley

On our way to Martinborough and doing some caching on the way. another one for me to find. No problems here. MTFTC

Travelling around the world with Dartmoor Deliverer to help her celebrate taking early retirement!
NB Dont forget our Devon UK Mega 2017 GC6JZNY this August in the beautiful East Devon area of our county. UK Megas are over one week full of events and geocaching - a wonderful way to enjoy our county!

I parked a little along the road from this in a convenient spot fully off the road and walk back to this. Very few cars so could search almost uninterrupted. This took me slightly longer than it should have in hindsight because it was pretty much hidden as expected. I think it was just hard to see. TFTC.
Yeah, found the author names out here incongruent too. Fast find on way back from 142 challenge. TFTC
#2564 The weather was too nice just to go home and be inside so I decided instead to go for a little adventure to collect some caches. Found a safe parking spot then walked back to the cache. Nice easy cache and no traffic at this stage- I let the school bus pass me to get that out of the way. TFTC!
Had to collect a TradeMe purchase up this road so decided it would be rude to pass by some of the local caches! *TFTC Nic-jay, #9213*
The weather is grim today, so a car-based trip around Blue Mountains and Whiteman's Valley until I run out of time. Quick, easy find. TFTC
Found during a car based cache mission due to the cruddy weather. Found within a few minutes - was beginning to get worried about how long the wall was.
Headed up to Whiteman's Valley today to pick up the challenge cache final and looking for other unfound caches on the way. This was a quick park and grab. The container was sitting fairly exposed so signed the logsheet and replaced the cache with a bit more cover around it. I find it really hard to locate cache hiding spots in these lifestyle block areas so well done for locating a place where you are not too easily noticed by the locals.
On trip around Whiteman's Valley, but only the cellphone so missed a few with no reception.
Quick and easy stop.
This was the sixth success.

Searched back and forth along the retainer, rummaging through rocks and then suddenly spotted it sitting right in front of me!
Find # 2526. A third day of cycle caching from Petone to Maymorn and back using the Masterton train to get to Maymorn. Cycled back via Whiteman's Valley and the Hutt River Trail - 50km of cycling. Only a 100m rise in elevation from Maymorn to the top of Blue Mountains Road but a 200m descent to Silverstream - the train did all the work!

Drove straight past GZ. Back tracked on foot and had to pretend the GPS was a cell phone as a group of walkers made their way past. TFTC
Find No 4 for today, Lovely Sunday morning, after putting my caching eyes on it was a easy find. TFTC
I seem to have forgotton to log this find. I found it immediately after "Page number 356502 (Upper Hutt, Wellington) which has a log entry dated 1/2/15.
After a quick look around I spotted something out of place and soon had the cache in my hand.
