On the way to Cape Reinga we took a short break here and visited this place .We found the Tradie without any problems .MPLC and greetings from us from Germany.
We continue on our road trip through New Zealand. First up north, then as far as Stewart Island. Old caches in particular are on our radar, but of course we don't waste any that just happen to be there. This was one of them. Thank you very much for storing and caring for it!
Hallo nalawod, adopted by thedbees,On the fourth day of travelling through Aotearoa our goal was visiting Cape Reinga. When we drove up in northern direction it was still raining and stoping for a few Caches was more like a do it fast and log them inside the car before fingers getting to wet.But when we reached the top, the rain stopped and even the fog started to dissapear. Therefore it was Easy for us to collect all the informations for the Earthcaches and Do the lab while visiting Cape Reinga. On our way back to the South we managed to visit a few more Caches before within the last Light but with a small glimpse of sunlight we reached our place for the night. Liebe Gre und vielen Dank fr die Hege und Pflege deines Traditional Cache! -moge-#############Der Cache "Bless this place (Far North)" von "nalawod, adopted by thedbees" war fr mich Cache 6608. Gefunden am 11 November 2024.Zu diesem Zeitpunkt hat der Cache die Wertung 1.0 / 1.5 (d/t)
Nice and quick find once we found the right place! Thank you for making us aware of the church we would have passed without really noticing! TFTC
Have passed here a few times and each time there has been muggles , but finally got it.
I have just recently found the geocache craze and was shocked to see this geocache was right under my nose! For years I have been attending this church on Sundays and never knew so today my kids and I went to our Sunday service a little earlier to find our first geocache it was so exciting and to think this has been here for 10 years!! Thanks for the placement at special place in my heart
On a caching journey up to the north with Supernannny and Net61 to find some caches. Many kilometres were driven over a few days and many caches were found. Thanks to all the cache owners for the placements. A quick stop here and we had this largish cache in hand. TFTC
On our way back from Cape Reinga. This was a quick find with good hint. Thanks for pointing out the history here.
On a sightseeing visit to the Far North with non-caching Mrs T so I have to be a bit selective with how many geocaches I try for. This one just happened to be close to our ice cream stop - biggest and cheapest single scoop of ice cream I've ever had Very well cared for little place of worship.Cache quickly foundTFTC

Was driving towards another cache of the coast when I realized that the road towards that one was private and not for public use. To make myself feel a little bit better I visited this cache near the (not)accees road to the beach TFTC. My find no. 8.130. The cache is dry and in good condition. I left a TB here. FP for showing me this place and share the history behind it.
Fantastic geo pulling us to something we may have sadly missed otherwise! Tftc!
Beautiful church! It’s incredibly well looked after!
Thanks for bringing us here.
Thanks for bringing us here.
Stopped because I'm trying to photograph all the Ratana Churches. Then saw the geocache!! Tftc
Good find Pity the serenity was destroyed by the neighbors ghetto blaster!!
Great history! We have driven past so many times and never noticed this colorful gem! TFTC
Stopped here on our trip to Cape Reinga. Gathering up remote caches for a challenge. Picked up a TB which was lucky as I had forgotten to log the cache. TB is now down south.
Took my awhile to find as it was further south than I had reckoned.

Out on a maintenance run checking all the Nalawod caches I have adopted. Today was north of Awanui to the top. All is good with this one.
My friend was heading up this way on a maintenance run having just taken over the nalawood caches. I enthusiasticly joined in as I have been meaning to come back up this way for ages. My last visit was in 2018 and there have been quite a lot of caches placed since then.
Oops I think we got this on the way up and I'm logging it on the way back down. Oh well, no milestones in sight so it won't affect my statistics. We checked a few places before the new CO found it at a place I'd already checked. Oops! Thanks again for adopting these caches

#11,562. Stayed the night in Kaitaia and now heading up to the Cape. Will pick up various geocaches on the way. Stopped to admire the church. Its certainly a distinctive building. The cache itself took a bit of effort to find. Wasn't in the first area checked so widened the search and found it a bit further away to the the south. Signed the logbook and returned the cache where found. Thanks nalawod for the cache.
An interesting church, the first one I think I've seen (not so popular in the middle of Canterbury). Cheers
Weather cleared up for us this morning so we are out and about on the hunt! Tftc
After staying the night at Tapotupotu Bay (near the “very top”) we were starting to head south again. This was one of a few caches located during the course of the day. Picturesque little church! The cache was a reasonably quick find. #4677. TFTC.
Being Waitangi Day and Sunday there was beautiful singing coming from across the road.
Nice easy park and grab, watch for the electric fence. TFTC found with Yvettetb and Travelbugtribe

Today I decided to travel up to Cape Reinga to locate and sign off a few caches.
Like one of the previous cachers I also searched three possible locations before hitting the jackpot on my fourth try.
Cheers for the cache.

The weather was pretty rubbish, but since we had planned to go to Cape Reinga today and our future plans had been altered somewhat because of the sudden lock down, we figured we might as well head that way anyway and just hope the worst of the weather had passed.
As it happened, the weather improved more and more as we returned so we did a slow crawl back, caching as we went.
We hadn't read the log when we pulled up here and Mr rattll's first comment was that it looked like the style of the Ratana church that's not far from our farm near Ratana, and what do you know.... a little taste of home.
Thanks for setting this up here

A quick find on the way back from visiting the Cape. What a cool little place! It was timely as I rescued a little dog wandering down the road after picking up this cache. Might not have seen him otherwise. Very friendly and managed to locate owners within half an hour. Phew . TFTC <3
Introduced the Ngataki School kids to geocaching yesterday so you may get a few locals finding your caches!!
Day 3 of our trip. Group of Team Seac came up for the weekend. Really enjoyed our day out seeing our beautiful country.
Sorry for the generic logs, but thank you for taking time to put the cache out, and for bringing us here. All logs signed as “SEAC”.

With the mega being postponed a plan was hatched for some of the Team SEAC crew to head north for some fun. Today was day 3 and was a BIG day for a lot of reasons...we set off at 7.30am and got back to our accommodation at 9.00pm but more importantly NZTravellers were going to celebrate their 6000th cache, I was going to hit my 3500th cache and it was 6 years to the day since most of us first met on a caching day out to Rangitoto Island!
Found whilst heading 'home'. Didn't take too long to locate.
Thanks for the cache.

With the Mega being postponed we decided to head North with the team SEAC members and see what we could find in the way of caches. We based ourselves at Cable Bay making day trips to the various spots around Northland.
Our ultimate destination today was Spirits Bay and Cape Reinga.
All Logs signed SEAC to save log paper.

Out with Team SEAC on a long weekend raid of the upper north island. This was day 3 caching in which we cached around the very top of the North Island. This was a quick find following the hint. Signed Team SEAC to save space. TFTC.
Day three of our caching adventure to the far north.....with a group from Auckland, venturing up as the Mega Event was postponed due to Covid - 19 and we just had to get caching.
Headed over to this cache, signed in and onto the next....Thanks for bringing us here, a place we might not have otherwise have visited.
Signed in as team 'SEAC' in order to save logbook space.
Thanks for bringing us here to somewhere we might otherwise not have visited.

Another lovely stop on the way catching a break between the clouds. having done a presentation on Ratana last year I really appreciated finding out about this church!! TFTC!!
I am using the excuse of friends of mine getting married in Northland this weekend to finally get to do what I have wanted to do for over 30 years now, visit 90 Mile Beach and Cape Reinga.
And of course whilst doing that I'm also making the most of a rare opportunity to grab a whole bunch of caches that either help me with my Jasmer grid, my Hidden Dates grid, or else are part of the TMGT, or lastly because they are an Earthcache or a Virtual which I like doing.
Cape Reinga roadtrip day 5 - the drive back from Cape Reinga to Auckland.
It was going to be a very busy day, trying to get as much caching done as I made the long winding way from Cape Reinga back to the hustle and bustle of Auckland to catch my breath before tomorrows final push back home to the lower North Island to finish what would end up being a 2300km round trip.
There was no other traffic around as I parked near GZ and I was able to conduct my search in peace. It took me a minute or two of rummaging around before I spotted the container, but all was fine with it and its contents so I took care of the usual logbook administration and then replaced it all exactly as found before returning to the car to crack on with the rest of my day.
Thanks for the cache.

Definitely worth the stop, a very well maintained wee church, such a peaceful atmosphere. Interesting to read a bit of the history. TFTC
Grabbed this one on the way back down from the cape. Kids were hungry so I said we’ll stop at the next geocache. All good here. TFTC
On our way to the far north of NZ we passed this place and I happened to spot the cache on the GPS in time. So we pulled over and with only few cars passing by, grabbing the cache was no problem. We took a look at the church and then continued northwards. TFTC!
Nothing required from maintenance team - all in good order. (Thanks to the cacher who replaced the container!)
Found with a sister during our expedition to NZ (from CZ), where we explored part of the North Island and could visit our classmates and friends that we have not seen for several years, as it is here, in Auckland and Napier live ... Thank you for cache ...
8.5m away from the GZ for me today, but a great spot. Cache in good shape. Tftc
During our vacation in New Zealand we did some geocaching. We saw a lots of amazing places and say thank you to everyone who shared his geocache with us.

Day eight of our 11 day binge trip we are signing as NNES. We are up North visiting our friend Gracie's GPS fun. Ethness and I are having a wee road trip to St Paul's Rock and Cape Reinga today. We completed the St Paul's Rock walk and caches that I needed for a DT gap. Up to the Cape and back we go.
Yay school holidays! Time for a road trip with my friend Ethness. I flew from Christchurch to Wellington. The idea is to drive up to the top of the North Island and back. We planned the trip ages ago.
Thanks nalawod for placing this geocache 7830 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Thanks for the information about the meanings of the words and decorations (not sure if you would call them that but I can’t think of a better word) on the church. New learning.
The school holidays are here and NosyNel and I are on a road trip north - to the far north. TFTC. Signed NNES.
