8009. A very rainy day, and Iris and Raewyn were busy doing craftwork so I took off in the car to Greytown to do some geocaching. Found ten caches in the pouring rain and got rather wet in doing so. This was cache number five and found very quickly, in spite of a very clever hide. . Getting quite wet at this stage. Thanks for the cache. Rodney.
Found it with my 3yo. T4TC. The dogs were a bit scary, but we got it, was nice to meet JNK here too.
Just passing through but we had to grab a cache and what a good choice we made. A fave. Thanks wascox.
A clever hide, nice place to break our journey south too.
Pity we can't stick around for the series.
Thanks wascox

We decided we would travel to WENZMEGA via the Wairarapa and return via the Akatarawas, caching along the way, but in a reasonably leisurely, pick and choose kind of way.
We had a beautiful day for our southward travels through the Wairarapa and over the Rimutakas today.
Wascox has more cunning plans than Baldrick, that’s for sure! This was another sneaky hide and it certainly helped to have read a few logs first. It’s worth a FP and TFTC wascox.
That completed our little Greytown circuit today, so it was time to get lunch, and then onward to MEGA.

On a drive up to Napier today, with plenty of time to stop for caches on the way. A quick find on a windy day. All safe and dry here. TFTC
A half day at the conference so i could nip away and travel down to greytown to locate a few more caches in this area/ a total of seven which i located 3 dnf or did not attempts once i saw what had to be done. and another half hearted attempt at one of the history multis which i did not complete. I did have added a few more caches to the souvenirs buit i am only aiming at 50 + knowing i will not get to 100.
Thank you for these caches behind greytown -to the CO who put them here.

Yay! Found with help of tall and friendly local cacher who walked past with his dogs TFTC
#5622. Today I had planned to attend the CITO event at Henley Lake. After the event got postponed for a week due to bad weather I lost access to the family car for this trip today. Luckily Ethnz was going to the event and was happy to have me keep her company on the trip. Had time to look for a couple of mystery caches and then several trads before the event. I wanted to revenge my past failure here. I was assured it wasn't in the grey phone box so I went searching again. The other one she called after just 5 seconds of peering at the wrong object. Oh that one he said. Yes how cache blind was I last time. Took it back to the car to sign. Replaced as found. Thanks for yet another creative cache wascox. Well done.
Took us a long time, there was no sign of anything until we saw the sneaky sneaky thing. Nice one.
One of 12 located in the Wairarapa on a warm Sunday, the thermometer hitting 30+. Didn’t take long to spot this one, which was fortunate with all the neighbours nearby. Nifty hide. #1647. TFTC.
I took my youngest son up to Wellington in the camper van. I dropped him off at his friend's house where he will stay. Meanwhile I get to geocache and be on standby.
I stayed in Martinburough last night and will be staying at Greytown, spending another day in the Wairarapa.
OMG where do you get such cool ideas?

Out on a day trip to the surrounds of Greytown. Picked a rather warm day when the temperature peaked at 31C. Pleased I had a lot of water with me today. A bit of a search yielded nothing then something caught my interest. This is a nicely crafted cache and worthy of a FP. Please note the log is now full. TFTC

We stood on this corner and wondered. Fiddled with the object that others have obviously checked out too. Not a cache! We were on the point of giving up when Mr E spotted what we were after - laughter at this clever hide and another favourite added. Thanks wascox.
A bit of trouble locating this one at the start - I looked at something that would fit in with the cache name, but it was most decidedly not the cache! With hand on chin in that thinking pose I spotted something - ah yes, another wascox special! I had to squeeze my name on the last page, could do with some more paper. TFTC+Fav
I expected the unexpected but it still took me a while to locate in a spot where there appeared to be nowhere to hide. TFTC.
Found this on a big day out with Infoferret and Ethnz. I really enjoyed this one - hiding in plain site! Thanks for the find.
I signed a lot of logs that day and can't remember whether I signed it RosalieNZ or IR (Infoferret and RosalieNZ)

I had tried, but failed, to locate this cache a few months ago. Before today's attempt, I read earlier logs to get some idea of what I needed to look for. That helped but it still came as a surprise when I found what I was after. I hadn't seen a cache hidden in this manner before (or maybe I have, but didn't recognise it as a cache!).
#2885 Been a while since I found a wascox special. This one reminded me how creative they are.
A quick find. Log dry, however on last page so may need attention soon. Unfortunately I didn't have spare log sheets....
Thanks for another smilie

Up bright and early for another trip to the Wairarapa to collect some more caches. Off to Greytown and Martinborough areas - I've not been to these two towns before even in pre-caching days. Really liked both of them and will have to come back to explore some more.
Back in Greytown after lunch and collecting a few caches before starting to head in the right direction of home. Clever camo here - haven't seen this type before. Giving it a FP. TFTC

If I had more time I would have loved to do the whole series. If this is the standard set it would have been an amazing series to do. Took a couple of looks. TFTC.
Home owner popped out and gave us a little heads up. Found it soon after, phew!
I'd read some of the past logs so I was expecting something unexpected. It didn't take long to find another of Wascox's unfailingly creative caches. TFTC, and FP!
A day out caching with Boxhill, Yeetrees and gonefishing picking up a few of the unfound (there are lots of them for me) caches. We arrived at GZ bundled out of the car to check the area out. Checking that, checking there, looking overthere before Boxhill said I can see it. [^][^] excellent camo [^][^]. Log signed the cache was replaced as found so the next person has the pleasure of hunting it out. "she's a goodie!!" well done. FP easily given.
The cache blends in nicely with the surroundings. Spotted it reasonably quickly. Cheers and TFTC
Out on a caching expedition around the Greytown area with SAROC, Boxhill and Yeetrees. Great day for it, and a good few laughs along the way.
Nice bit of camo here.

Navigation was all over the place today, so it was hard to know which corner to search. We guessed the most likely place it could be and it didn't take too long for one of the kids to spot something slightly out of place. Very clever! Thanks so much - we love your caches
Quick stop here as I was driving past on a big day out scooping up a heap of caches. Didn't have access to past logs so searched blindly and wildly for about 5 minutes. No joy. I have done wascox caches previously so know they can be very hard to spot. Will come back better prepared in future.
Had to resort to reading previous comments even though there were only really a couple of places it could be. As usual once found we wondered why it took so long ....
Wonder what the nearby house owners make of all these people clutching their phones and looking in nooks and crannies ......... gets a favourite from us.
Have decided to make a special trip over the hill from Wgtn at some stage shortly to do all the caches from WASCOX as we are suffering from "sistema overload" at the moment

First looked for it yesterday with DD and no luck today. Will go back for another look later this week.
Had to come back twice as we only had 5mins first time and it wasn't as easy as it looked! 2 hrs later on our return trip I found it in the only place it could be - made me laugh!! Nicely hidden, thank you!!
(I am a bit worried about the nearby fence though!)

We were aware this was going to be tricky, unfortunately it was too tricky for us. However, we will return and give it another go next time we are in Greytown.
Another cache we have had on our watch list for 12 mths since a DNF. Quickly spotted today thankfully or we may not have been able to sleep for ages after evey found it log. Thanks for your creativity.
Unfortunately we couldn't spot this one during our Greytown visit. It was one of our first and perhaps we didn't have our eye in for spotting wascox's amazing caches. Keep up the good work!
Had a quick hunt but couldn't find it straight away. Back to the car to have a think, then found it second time round. Very clever!!
The neighbouring geo-mutt was a bit awkward but he took off quickly making for a quick find. #8244
Didn't take long to get, somehow! Great hide! very sneaky!! Found on our way from ocean beach back to Palmerston North. Thanks for the hide!

Brilliant hide and it fooled us for far too long. For all that frustration, a favourite point coming your way! TFTC wascox.
Took a bit of brain power but endmosteye44 nabbed it when we checked logs snd went back for a second look tftc -good challenge
A fabulous day in the Wairapapa with TregearP. Parked the car by the Woodside Park and Ride and walked along the trail into town for a fabulous lunch, and then back out to the car via the Greytown-Woodside rail trail.
Took a few moments to find. Nicely done, and all in good order. TFTC.

Felt a little conspicuous here & wondered if the near by house knew about the cache, but tried to look casual as we hung about the street corner, looking around between cars passing. Took a while to spot this cleverly hidden cache, but got there eventually.
Thanks wascox
Thanks wascox
A super cache not too many places to look but still had us stumped for a bit. Spotted a little something and cache was soon signed. Thank you so much for your creation, fav point from us
A really clever cache after looking, thinking, more looking and more thinking! Finally we found it. What an amazing place!!! Just the place for an amazing cache. Thank you, we appreciate all the effort fav point from us. We returned because we did 3 or 4 caches on our way to Wellington a while back and loved our time here. Have recommended to everyone back in HB
Great hide. Noticed something out of place and boom the cache. Tftc fav point from us
