What a spectacular start in 2024. We had a wonderful 5 weeks trip around New Zealand South Island - Te-Wai-Pounamu. We saw a lot of fantastic places, met a lot of so friendly, relaxed and helpful people. The nature is gorgeous beautiful for me, I love it SmileDuring our trip we also found some geocaches and saw very nice places also off the beaten tourist tracks. Here we saw no penguins, but the walk was nice and the view fantastic SmileTFTCcassandra07

Maybe someone could tie on an extra one or use a cable tie or something to ensure the cache stays tethered.Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, drawp!#10171

Find #7210
Found on March 18, 2023

We are from Abilene, Texas, USA and have come to New Zealand to visit with a friend. We have gotten ten different Cache Types and will get the 11th Type (Webcam) when we go to Christchurch on Monday. Today Bitsprayer is taking us out to find more caches around Oamaru.

Thank you, drawp for placing this cache for all to find. We sign log sheets either as Love Cachers or LCers.

Driving over 50 miles to have...
Rusty barbed wire ripping through your clothes...
Curious rattlesnakes that come out of nowhere...
Itchy mosquito bites on every inch of your body...
A 40 mph wind gust blowing sand into your ears, nose and mouth...
Cactus needles getting stuck deep in your hands, arms and legs...
Thorny Mesquite trees scratching you up from head to toe...
Some or all of these things on a hike through 101° heat...
To sign your name or trade a toy...
SOUND LIKE FUN TO YOU?

It does to us, we're geocachers in West Texas! - {Taken from a Greater Abilene Association geocoin.}

spent 6 great weeks in New Zealand with my ?? The start was a bit bumpy (Cyclone Gabrielle) but then it got better and better. We travelled to both islands and discovered a lot. We photographed and filmed many beautiful things, but most of it stayed in our hearts.Almost everywhere we stopped, a cache was already waiting for us. Most of the caches are well maintained and easy to find. With mostly very nice Cool weather, we saw a lot of this impressive island. In many places, caches were waiting for us, which were sometimes easy and sometimes difficult to find. This cache was also included and was successfully signedWe puzzled a lot in advance and the tours ?? were well prepared WinkSo this box was also well found.now I have another Smile on my personal cache card.many thanks to [^] **drawp** [^] for the effort and the cache and greetings from Germany ???? Smile Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up in Oamaru, for a couple of days, with a couple of our Grandchildren … went for a drive to Moeraki to see the both the famous ‘Moeraki Boulders’ & the Katiki Point Lighthouse … thought it would be rude not to grab a few caches whilst in the area … found with no issues, log completed & successfully returned … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... Found the cache reasonably quickly. #3394. TFTC.

During our round trip on the South Island we searched and found some caches, this one was also there.

Here we made a little hike through nature, saw seals and birds and the children were thrilled how close the seals were. On our round we also searched and found the caches.

Vacations 2019 - Road trip trough New Zealand
With Geoesposa, this was my 50th anniversary. 16 days, 4200Kms and a few hundreds smilles after, i was sure i saw nothing....

I liked everything, the friendly and civilized people, the way the country works, the roads and especially the natural beauty of New Zealand.
I fell in love....
I decided to go back in 5 years, I easily see myself living my last days somewhere lost in any stunning scenery of this wonderful country.

With the itinerary studied at home, the caches were the ones that were in the chosen places, and a few used to stretch the legs. It was decidedly not the most important on this trip. Of all the visited, only half a dozen did not appear, all being in good health except two or three.

I will use this generic log, not for disrespect of the owners, but due to the amount of caches visited. Here the majority of caches serve to show something beautiful (as it should be), not giving importance to the container.

My thanks to all the ownwers who, allied to the natural beauty of the country, have made this vacation unforgettable.
