I spent the bulk of today wandering around Mt Beckworth, getting some exercise ahead of this weekend's Australasian Rogaine Champs near Avoca. Apart from being in cloud, there was very little rain, however it was very wet underfoot. Answers submitted. TFTC.

Cat got the answers
I got the pics 12:00pm
Well, catnap777 and I colluded to obtain the required information which my partner and associate submitted for scrutinisation by the assessors, and I provided the photographic account of our proximity to the locale to identify our attendance. [^]
Together we make a great team.
From here we went on to visit a secret (baron) cave.
After a huge day on Mt Beckworth, catnap777 and I had crawled back to our camp in Clunes, freshened up and hit the town for every cache we could get our greedy mits on.
Next morning we did it all over again on the northern half of Mt Beckworth.

Visited this wonderful earthcache with dalerious .
This area is jam packed with interesting geology and the posted coordinates to this Earthcache was no exception.
Answers have been submitted to the CO, and my better half will post a photo of us .
Was a pleasure visiting here and another highlight was wondering to the top of the mountain to visit a secret cave .
Thank you wozzle68 .

I visited this earthcache on the fourth and final day of a somewhat impromptu solo caching and camping trip to Victoria from Adelaide.
I had planned to spend a week travelling, caching and camping along the Great Ocean Road, but my travelling companion had to postpone it due to other commitments. I was still keen to go away somewhere this week as well, so decided to head to the western part of the state on my own.
I created a bit of a 'menu' of specific caches of interest in the broad area that I might be in before I left home and just pottered along fairly casually, taking in the sights and grabbing what I could along the way.
I wasn't actually planning to visit this park, but I somehow managed to end up here and it was a good place to camp with what looked like some interesting walks and caches to find.
Yesterday I walked up to the summit and back from Manna Gums then took a bit of a drive around the park, including back up to the summit from the southern side, eventually ending up staying nearby at the Cork Oaks campground last night.
Thanks wozzle68 for the earthcache.

After a yummy breakfast of bacon and eggs this morning at our campsite at Manna Gums, we headed out to gather up a few more of the geocaches here. We're starting to get to know quite a bit about granite!

An interesting rock just sitting here, oh so odd!
Today I made my way from Adelaide to Ballarat via a few caches and found myself in Mount Beckworth and a few other places, also making it a goal to complete majority of Ballarat geotour.
Odd being back in Victoria after over a year but itβs good to be back.
Thanks for the cache

On a caching and camping trip with day1976, he put together the list of caches, and I worked out we could camp near Mt Beckworth.
We arrived and found a good spot away from the other noisy campers, and set up, then headed back out to do some caching before getting dinner done.
Next morning we had a hot pancake each and packed up camp, then set off on our morning hike up Mt Beckworth.
Up the track a little way, and we spotted the location that we needed to go. Luckily there was somewhat of a track trampled over the top of bushy bracken.
An amazing boulder, I liked the info given, and it was cool how there was a crack in it! Also saw some climbing points drilled into the rock! How awesome would it be to climb it!!

Found while exploring the area with Jacko83. Previously had left this one unfound as I was too panicky after Beckworth cave to really notice the rock. As someone who is claustrophobic the cave was a real stretch for me! No small spaces today meant had more attention to pay to the surrounding areas. Great to have this feature pointed out. TFTC

Day 7 St Arnaud Campground to Mount Beckworth Reserve - Cork Oaks Camp ground
The swag is up. Thought to walk to this one before dinner ( and in the daylight ). Mogni is sending the answers for us.
We left St Arnaud and heading in the general direction of Mount Beckworth Reserve to the puzzle trail. We stopped along the way to get multi's,puzzles and any local coucil areas. This was one of a small number of caches found on route to the reserve. We had to fix a staked tyre before we left, so it was a late start. quick find.
Came over to the 2019 mega in St Arnaud with Mogni. We where joined by jj52, Aussie M and M plus others at different times over the mega weekend. Many caches where found over the course of the 8 day trip. Targeting multi's on the way there and back plus the challenge trail in Mount Beckworth reserve. The creative trails around St Arnaud where the highlight of the trip.

Day 2 of my road trip from Newcastle to St Arnaud for the upcoming mega event, and couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit this beautiful part of Victoria. With a Rogaining event happening tomorrow in Daylesford, I decided to make a weekend of it and camp out somewhere nearby. I had been wanting to get back to Beckworth for some time, so decided this was the ideal opportunity, so after ParkRun near home, I packed the car and off I went. The weather while not hot, was looking OK for a walk in the forest.
Wow, what a fantastic specimen. If I wasn't so tired I may have climbed to the top. Answers submitted to the CO, hope they are OK.
Many thanks to wozzle68 for the cache. TNLN.

Found with PapaGrouch and MazzyMay. We visited this Earthcache, answers sent to CO. We decided as we walked away that the outcropping rather resembled a sheeps head. TFTC
Logged as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and SciFiRulz. We headed out today to enjoy the adventure at Mount Beckworth and were not disappointed. (SFR submitted answers to the questions.) The rock was surrounded by bracken which was a little scary with the thought of snakes but we made lots of stomping noises while bush bashing in. We were quite intrigued by the rock formation on the side of the rock. Most interesting. TFTC

We had arrived in this very beautiful area yesterday evening, and by the end of a thoroughly enjoyable late afternoon/early evening geocaching hike we had found 11 of the caches in the reserve. We then spent the night at Manna Gums campsite and this morning set off on foot for what our GPS recorded as having been a 7 hour, 13 kilometre, geocaching hike, with a total ascent of 585 meters and a total descent of 561 meters. After returning to our waiting hired cache-mobile we then drove on to find the rest of the caches in the area. We then spent a second night at Manna Gums campsite before leaving the Reserve, by which time the Mount Beckworth Scenic Reserve had become one of our all time favourite places we have visited in Australia - plus of course we left this geocaching playground with a full house of smilies! - not to mention the thrill of a gorgeous little Echidna, who late in the day walked right up to me and then sat down right between my feet - I felt so privileged! This Earthcache was next on our list of caches to find in this lovely Reserve. We made our Field Notes and have subsequently submitted our answers to the CO. Thanks so much for the Earthcache and greetings from Zimbabwe
TFTC. We had visited this cache last year , only to discover that the original sign had been removed and replaced by a new style. This was the first opportunity we have had since then to revisit. We had a mission today we wanted to get as many of the caches on Mount Beckworth as possible today to get closer to meeting the $00 with a twist challenge. There are also two caches here that will fill in a number on the D/T grid and also a month on the Ausmer challenge.
While in the Cork Oaks are we had a walk to this feature and collected the answers, which will be sent to the CO when we get back home.

We have done quite a lot of earthcaches lately and this was another great one. Such an oddity, just sitting there. Love that these sorts of caches always point out something of interest. Thanks for this one.
Loving doing earthcaches. Not something that was on our radar until recently. Thanks for this one.

While camping at the Dam for the weekend with pprass we were joined for the day by maccamob and riddell.

Having just arrived home yesterday evening after an 8 day trip away[|)], today it was time to head to Ballarat as Cybergran V had wanted to a ride to attend wozzle68's 50th birthday celebration.
Harry managed to find a tree branch while reversing and gave himself an injury: the rear window on the canopy shattered [xx(] at the 2nd cache find for the weekend and yet by the time this was discovered at Castlemaine, many kilometres later, nothing had fallen out of the gaping hole! Whew!! [^]
Cardboard and duct tape saved the day/weekend!
After attending the birthday celebration tea leafotwind, Rex and I headed out doing some caches until late in the night then after a good rest thanks to an extra room at leafotwind's accommodation (which was hugely appreciated [:X]), the next day we attended the breakfast event and then (after Cybergran V rejoined us) we headed out to claim some challenge caches accompanied for a short time by both Mrs and Mr Riddell
With the last cache of the 29 cache finds found at 6pm on the 5th, it was time for the drive back to Shepparton, having attended 2 events and only having 1 DNF and 1 Write note on a challenge cache that I do not yet meet.
As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]

It was found at the end of a long day on Mt Beckworth after attending the breakfast event at Maccas.
Travelling with Noam and locus cache we were able to reach here just before sunset.
Am enclosing photo taken in the vicinity.

The last cache for the day myself, locus cache and Cybergran V. Couldn't have ended on a better note as this was some doozy. Fantastic formation right out in the open. Thanks for bringing me here, W.
After having attended the second of the birthday events in Ballarat I had planned to tackle some Mt. Beckworth caches. I was joined by locus cache and CybergranV which proved fortuitous both from an energy/motivation standpoint after yesterday's 20km+ of walking as well as a couple of puzzle solves. A great day out. Thanks to either Wozzle68 or McLookers for putting out the caches and drawing me to the area.

With a new cache nearby that looked like some fun I had arranged a visit to the area with Ausfox; who had the day of work and Neville_devil who finished at lunch time. I on the other hand had worked all night finishing at 7am. So with only 3 and a half hours sleep we were of to Mt Beckworth.
On our way back down from finding our target cache in the caves we worked our way across to inspect the rocks for this earthcache. After a quick discussion with Neville_devil regarding the answers he and Miss14 proceeded to climb the rock for some extra fun.
Thank you wozzle68 for the work you have put into publishing this Earthcache for our enjoyment

I wasn't attending the mega this weekend, so I thought the "Easter Escape" event at Mount Worth sounded like a nice day trip, so I planned to attend, and just see whatever happened thereafter. After doing the nearby Cork Oaks cache, I headed to this one with Perpetually Lost and Fergzter. Once we'd worked out our answers, we headed back to the campsite to verbally present the answers to the CO. After being grilled about our loose answers and tightening them up, we were given the go ahead to log.
Thanks for the cache, wozzle68.
Thanks for the cache, wozzle68.
With The Fergzter and Muzza joining me for a walk we made our way to this impressive monolith after finding the nearby trad. As The Fergzter had already done this on on a previous occasion he helped Muzza and myself through the questions before we verbally gave our answers to the CO who was camped nearby who gave them his tick of approval. Thx for your EC here wozzle68, very informative!
We arrived at the Cork Oaks Picnic Ground to find wozzle68 and others already there. After spending some time discussing matters caching, we headed off to look for another couple of caches. This was one of them. It wasn't far away and after a walk through tall terns, we got to GZ. The information was collected although the weathered surface did fool us. Answers to the questions were discussed with the CO at the event and permission to log was granted. Thanks wozzle68 for an informative Earthcache and for your other caches in the area.
After camping overnight I went for a βswimβ through the bracken to GZ. Made my observations and headed back to camp. Thanks Wozzle68

If I was a better climber, er much much better climber there'd be a few good bouldering problems here, but alas being a fat old bastard hasn't helped me become the next Alex Honnold, it's a skip on the rock climbing problems and concentate on the earthcache problems of this boulder.

Back to Mount Beckworth again for the second day in a row, this time armed with a Muggle husband and a slightly tougher car (well older/rustier which means I can bush bash and puddle hop a little more).
We had visited this one with a group including the CO back in May 2015 and had permission to log but my OCD prevents me from logging an EC without a photo to add. Turns out that this photo is rather un-inspiring after all that time as of course we had to avoid spoilers in the background.
Nevertheless, I am finally logging this one with photo. Does our permission from 2 years ago still stand? We did do a quick re-discussion of the answers, I'm very interested as to whether you have an actual measurement for Q4 as my estimate and muggle husbands varied by 15 metres! Lol

Well what an unexpected wonderful adventure this week turned out to be! I was meant to be in Alice Springs, but plans needed to change, so a relaxing trip to Victoria was the go.
Wozzle68 and I buddied up, and we ended up being great travel companions [^]....OMG, so much laughter , loud music [^], off-key singing and fun was had [:o)] [^]. We also teamed up with ChooknChunk and travelled in convoy to attend Mildura for '3 States in a Day' caching and events. What a great 4-some we made [^]....certainly brilliant dynamics [^], fabulous conversations [^] and loads of giggles [^]. I then stayed in Ballarat for a few days which was great fun.

Logged with permission. Our last for the day with a great bit of exploring around Mt Beckworth. A short walk from the car park to GZ just being careful to make a bit of noise walking through the bracken just to scare off any unwanted legless lizards. TFTEC

I was out and about with Ausfox and DAB, but it was only DAB and myself that had not seen this earth cache. The walk from the car park was not far and as soon as we saw this Beckworth Granite, both of us loved the location. A very interesting site indeed. We enjoyed gathering the info needed and wondered just how this would have ended up here. Answers sent to the CO.

Thanks woozle68 for bringing us here. The Granite boulders are quite the sight and had the kids amazed. They thought the formation at GZ looked I face with two ears. I have to admit I did also.
Thanks for the geo education. We had great fun today in the area. We saw only a few other people out today, including two that seem to have set off for the summit from here. That would be a tough walk!

Today I was in the company of Ausfox; and Na'wal. There had been a bit of chatter about Mt.Beckworth recently, so we decide to give this series a crack. I had never been here before, so I was really looking forward to it. We knew it was going to be warm and even though our phones said it was 31 degrees, it felt a lot warmer than that by early afternoon. Apart from a couple of walkers around the back of the mountain, we had the whole area to ourselves. A very impressive display of geology indeed. An enjoyable earthcache to complete, answers have been sent. TFTC wozzle68
In pursuit of new challenges I made my way to Mt Beckworth for the first time. I had a great time wandering around once I found a suitable access road into the scenic reserve.
After making my way to the Cork Oaks area I had a closer look at these granites.
A fine example here, and it was interesting to note the differences between this granite and the granite formations we have closer to home out south.
Observations were made and the answers emailed to the CO.
Thanks for the earthcache, wozzle68.

Did the observations and did the photo.

Had an excellent day on the Mount today knocking out the Beckworth Beckons series with half of Clan McStormy, Jaggedwings and five GeoRetrievers. Trotted over to this Earth Cache after lunch at the nearby BBQ ground and learnt some interesting history about this local area. Thanks once again Wozzle68 for the excellent series.

Was out caching with Yoster, JaggeredWing and GeoGemy had a great day out, and really enjoyed this series. Thanks Wozzle..
"Found it" with a group as we walked over from the nearby event. Thanks for giving Azz an excuse to climb!
We are on a road trip to attend "The Melbourne Event" Mega, taking our time to get there and on the return journey. Fortunately, there were lots of caches along the way to tempt us to stop for a while to smell the roses. This was one of those caches.
We had made our way to Ballarat to attend the GIFF Event and having been told about another event to be held at Mount Beckworth, we decided we would attend that one to and find the nearby caches. We wandered along the track with a group of cachers and Louise Ann took a photo of us all at ground zero. Answers have been submitted a few days ago.
Thank you wozzle68 for having placed the cache for everyone to enjoy

While attending the nearby 10 year event, we couldnt miss visiting this earthcache, such a lovely area, Geoson had a great time exploring. After gathering the answers it was great to be able to discuss them with the CO (who was also attending the event) and gave permission to log our find. Thanks Wozzle68.
phew and I'm at 3999!!!! No more caches for me now until next weeks mega! Now back to the cache.
I was in the area for Highrod and TheMorris' 10 years of caching celebration event. We had taken the long way into the park and were a little late by the time we found the party. After catching up with people, Alansee arrived and mentioned he was going over to the near by traditional and this earthcache. Since both caches were on my list to bring me up to 3999 finds, I decided to join him. By the time we made it to the rock we had a large group including some kids and some interstate travelers. We all put our heads together and discussed the questions. I think there might even have been some learning achiveved!!
Thanks for the cache wozzle68!! I enjoyed this one

Found It!
I wandered over to GZ with a group from the nearby event. Someone insisted the rocks were 10,000 high (what unit I don't know) and coloured pink. Better answers were soon found and some photos taken. Nice place!

Found by Mary & David at 1150. An interesting rock formation, and close to the picnic ground too. Gathered our answers, made our observations, and headed back to the Event. Answers sent as requested. Our thanks to wozzle68.
Found along with a small cast while at the 10th Anniversary event. It was fun to discuss sthe possibilities with the others and come to what we thought was the correct answers, and to learn somethign along the way. Email sent.

We inspected the boulder in one of the groups that made the short trip up today from the 10 years event. After some lively discussions within our group, we arrived at our answers, which have been sent to the CO.
It's always great to admire boulders such as these in the landscape - as if the giants had played with marbles - and learn something on the way.
Thank you for the lesson.

Found after a short walk with a small group of cachers who were attending the nearby 10yrs of caching celebrations. I normally avoid earth caches because I often feel you need a science degree to do them and it makes me feel a bit dumb. This one however, was informative and enjoyable so thanks wozzle68 for teaching me something new Myself and my daughter are in the photo posted by LouiseAnn

Thanks for another opportunity to learn more in fascinating areas that I most likely would not visit if it weren't for caches. Tftc
Thanks for bringing me to this great spot that i otherwise would not have come to if it wasn`t for geocaching. Tftc
Dad told me to lookout for snakes today because it was so warm, so we followed him to the huge rocks. Tftc and the info that goes with it.
awesome day in a fantastic area. Great views and great caching....informative earth cache ttc
We tried a few different ways of getting to this one. Everyone was worried about snakes in the bracken. I really like earth caches because I get to learn about rocks. Tftc
Visited this interesting place and learnt a few things

Out with Team Crackers and Micaparamedic we arrived at the car park and the heavens opened up. We headed off arrived at the location and worked out the information, even in the poring rain it was a good place to visit. Permission to log with the others.

I was here in May and collected the information but returned today after the two events in Ararat, with Team Crackers and the Coffee's. As we arrived in the carpark the heavens opened up, on with the raincoats and off on the short stroll to GZ. Again the info was collected and discussion was had as to crystal growth in cooling granite. Answers were sent off and permission was granted to log our visit. Thanks wozzle68 for putting this earthcache together.
Travelling with The Coffee's and micaparamedic picking up some caches in this fantastic area.
We stopped here just as the rain started again but as we all really enjoy Earth caches we put on the coats and headed off to GZ.
We have to say this was quite an impressive area and we were all glad we made the effort.
The answers were collected and the CO VERY kindly gave us permission to log.
Mant thanks Wozzle68 for setting this cache up and bringing us to an area we will revisit but when the weather is a bit better. Another favorite point from us.

Caching at Mt Beckworth today with the two geokids (aged 4 & 6). Along for the ride was Shamus1. I was lucky enough to wander over here with Mr McAdie (the earthcache king) so I read the questions out and he answered them adding in all these extra facts too. One clever geo man he is! Back at the nearby event I accousted the CO and had my answers ticked off. The attached pic is of "the feral five" oops I mean "the famous five" as they helped us find some caches. Fab cache where I've learnt a little more about rocks! Thanks muchly
Found today while at event with Misschief18. Our answers are on the way. Didn't think of asking CO whilst at event.

Find number 18 of 40, around Mount Beckworth today. This is my 108th earthcache find. What a great place, very cool. My answers have been sent to the cache owner, after all the finds today I'm sure their mailbox will be very full! Thanks for the earthcache, and the series wozzle68.

Logging with kind permission of the CO. I can safely say that I have learnt something from every earthcache I have done. Geocaching is wonderful! Loved all the colours in the rocks here. TFTC
Thanks for bringing us to this very cool place Wozzle68. I liked learning about the rocks and the area. It is awesome.
After attending the nearby 15 Year Geocaching BBQ I popped over to grab a few nearby caches.
Collected the required information while having a chat with Riddel.

Came down with Alchey today to attend Beckworth event.
Great weather, great day, snagged a heap of caches, including this cache. Really needed this to tally up my EC's for the EC challenge in Geelong.
Enjoyed doing this earthcache and learnt some whilst filling in the answers as a group. Thanks for doing this and bringing me here.

Great spot, very interesting, easy to get to, very picturesque. Thanks so much wozzle68, we have learned a lot and really enjoyed the area. Caching today with ST37E, Glanville Girls, Tomstache and Trubods.
Found while attending the nearby 15 Years of Geocaching Event with McLookers, Tomstache and ST37E, We spent some time at the rock collecting information and discussing the our answers to the questions. Thanks for bringing us here.
After our first find a group of us went on to the Earthcache.
5 kids all admired the rocks, even seeing "secret passages" in the rock.
This is a great spot right in the middle of the bracken.
This is a fine example of an EarthCache done without any information boards.
A favorite point for the great spot and well executed cache.

After a fantastic night's camping (in the new canopy) overnight, enjoying good friends and good food, we woke to a cool and slightly drizzly morning. We dusted out the cobwebs by strolling to this earthcache before returning to camp to enjoy another feast for breakfast, before everyone started arriving for the birthday event. We are really starting to enjoy these earthcaches. Not just being taken to spectacular geological formations, but we are slowly absorbing the learning that goes along with them. It makes us reflect on the miracles of our earth's formation. Thank you for this earthcache Wozzle68.

I have been wanting to give the Mt. Beckworth caches a crack for a while now, so it seemed like no time like the present. With the cloud cover, the GPS was all over the shop (talking to someone else who was caching elsewhere at the same time they were having the same issues), however a bit of geosense soon got me over the line.
However, it's a bit hard to miss this Earthcache. I mean the old GPS would need to by hundreds of metres out in order to miss them.
I spent a bit of time here, considering the answers that I would give and in general just enjoying the quietness of the area. Even a couple of nearby campers were going by the old adage of being seen and not heard, mind you, I think they had other things on their mind.
TFTC Wozzle68, I do love a Earthcache.

We travelled over to spend the weekend camping at Mt Beckworth and complete the well regarded series.
This was only 200 meters from our campsite and the answers have been okayed by the CO. Have loved camping below the peak - it has looked pretty special at times over the weekend.
