What a perfect day to search for a Geocache. The weather was spot on! No wind, no rain, temp was at a cool 19 degrees and I was visiting a place I had never been too before.I was lucky enough to be chauffeured by Mr Sims_Family who had his eyes on a couple of challenge caches that I'm WAY off from claiming.Good hint helped find this cache quick enough . Thank you
Donutholes and I planned the day at Mount Beckworth to grab everything we could around the back of the mountain. The weather for the day was magnificent and we had a ball enjoying the wonderful space. The Ginja Ninja made short work of all the trails getting us close with only short walk to most of the caches. This little section of the trail had a sign up saying management Vehicles only so it was on foot for the five caches up here. Thank you wozzle68 for the series
Arrived near GZ and then worked out where I should be and headed up that little extra couple of metres. Once there, the log was spotted, then the base of the container and finally the container itself. Certainly seems like and animal of sorts has had a look at what it was. Log was signed, cache put back together and replaced so hopefully it remains safe from any other prying eyes.
Thanks for another one wozzle68...

Another few hours mopping up most of the remaining caches on Mt Beckworth. As I wandered up the ridge the rain settled in, but with no wind was not unpleasant. Cache easily found. The cache container was home to lots of tiny ants and a lovely little ghecko. TFTC.

Found day 3 of a somewhat impromptu solo caching and camping trip to Victoria from Adelaide.
I had planned to spend a week travelling, caching and camping along the Great Ocean Road, but my travelling companion had to postpone it due to other commitments. I was still keen to go away somewhere this week as well, so decided to head to the western part of the state on my own.
I created a bit of a 'menu' of specific caches of interest in the broad area that I might be in before I left home and just pottered along fairly casually, taking in the sights and grabbing what I could along the way.
I wasn't actually planning to visit this area, but I somehow managed to end up here and it was a good place to camp with what looked like some interesting walks and caches to find.
This morning I walked up to the summit and back from Manna Gums, finding this cache along the way.
Thanks wozzle68 for the cache.

TFTC. Quick find with Algae today and a day exploring the Mount Beckworth area. Nice day to be out and about not too hot and not too cold. A great day with a couple of hikes and driving around the area.
This one had Algae climbing up a huge rock, but he was way off.
I could sit on a rock and rest while logging by this one.

A great day with Shumba7 enjoying all the Beckworth Beckons series has to offer. Lots of smiles collected and enjoyed. Thanks Wozzle68 for more fun times.
A bit of fun in the rocks to be had.

Find #4488
Traditional Find #2804**
I headed out with Steve on our first caching run since before the second lockdown. Ballarat, Mount Beckworth, Clunes and Creswick were our targets for today. Two 4WD's were attempting to scale this hill but seemingly neither had bothered to drop their tyre pressures so they got stuck. Ultimately, they gave up because they were no where to be seen when we returned.
**Thank-you to wozzle68 for placing this geocache**

*Cache find # 11078.*
Well the name says it all for this one, the cache was quickly found and the log signed as we watch a bit of 4X4 action very close by, well really there wasn’t much action at all, one had got past this point but the other wasn’t going very far at all so we walked on by and left them to contemplate there situation.
Finally we are able to get out and about so we headed for Mt.Beckworth, Clunes and Creswick.
I have been to Mount Beckworth a number of times now to try to find them all and after today it was nearly done but there are still 4 remaining, maybe one day.
**Thanks to wozzle68 for placing this cache.**

I can't believe we drove up that track!! I was glad to stop and breathe. But it's all worth it!!
I am disabling this cache during this public health crisis.

Found on our midweek getaway to Clunes. Didn’t expect that we were going to be doing such hard core 4WDing today as we followed the map around Mount Beckworth Reserve. TFTC
A visit to Mt Beckworth has consistently been on the cards since I was last here back in 2016. I still had the series to finish, plus there are some tempting new challenging challenges to be found. Today the planets finally lined up and together with Jacko, A and Anikano we made a day of it enjoying this great bushland.
1970s - Rock on, Dude!
1990s - Party on, said that other Wayne.
2000s - Cache on!
After 5 minutes of me searching for the 'wrong' thing Anikano came up trumps here.
Thanks Wozzle68.

Well this one confused us a bit as the cache is no longer a film canister. Eventually made the obvious find though! Glorious winter day. Sun just warm enough, cold enough for snakes not to be an issue and no rain in sight. Thanks for placing this series
Funny I didn't see any gates. So not sure how they close them, unless i just missed them.
Would suck if you only had a 2WD. Lots more walking. However may be easier to drink and eat at the same time as doing as opposed to bouncing all over the place.

We had arrived in this very beautiful area yesterday evening, and by the end of a thoroughly enjoyable late afternoon/early evening geocaching hike we had found 11 of the caches in the area. We then spent last night at Manna Gums campsite. This morning we set off on foot for what our GPS recorded as having been a 7 hour, 13 kilometre geocaching hike, with a total ascent of 585 meters and a total descent of 561 meters. After returning to our waiting hired cache-mobile we then drove on to find the rest of the caches in the area. We then spent a second night at Manna Gums campsite before leaving the Reserve, by which time the Mount Beckworth Scenic Reserve had become one of our all time favourite places we have visited in Australia - plus of course we left this geocaching playground with a full house of smilies! - not to mention the thrill of a gorgeous little Echidna who late in the day walked right up to me and then sat down between my feet - I felt so privileged! This was the next cache for us to search for during our hike in this lovely Scenic Reserve, where the clue helped ensure a speedy find once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the nicely camouflaged cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Having a great time on this track. So pleased that we were invited to spend New Years up here with lovely friends. Thanks for the cache.
Starting to think that we have the wrong tyres on for this track - but there's always just one more cache to be had.

Found at 11:51 AM GAFF5 in the company of perpetuallylost and xambo4u.
Now there was a difficult find for just a D of 1.5! We knew exactly what sort of camo wee were looking for and Ray (previous finder) knew exactly where it was located - but do you think we could find anything in that small area? We just about to give up when Ray has a much closer look under a crack and there was the cache
Now why do cachers insist on replacing a camoed cache with more camo or in tight spots?
Thanks wozzle68.

While camping at the dam with pprass and pertpetuallylost joined us for a day of caching. With 4 x 4 driving and quite a bit of walking we soon got to a vista to behold. Scoured the area and Ray was sure where it was when he came before but he even had trouble. A very well hidden camo The view was worth it. Thanks for the journey wossle68.
Number 3 on my hike up the hill today, with just the birds for company. I'm finding lots of footprints from previous cachers who gathered here over the Easter break. Tftc
I wasn't attending the mega this weekend, so I thought the "Easter Escape" event at Mount Worth sounded like a nice day trip, so I planned to attend, and just see whatever happened thereafter. The ride we caught finished back at the last cache (thanks P.L.) so we had to walk up to here. I enjoyed the walk and, once again, the cache was found without any trouble.
Thanks to wozzle68 for the cache.
Thanks to wozzle68 for the cache.
After attending Wozzle 68's event today i still had time to find a few more caches before i needed to head home to take the family to Bendigo for the Easter Lantern Parade tonight. After being reassured that my 4wd geomobile would have no problems on the lower part of the Northern Ridge Track i offered to take a team with me to tackle the area. So with Au Fait, Mrs 2y'stassies and Muzza taking up the spare seats off we went.
With the hiking a little more rugged, Muzza and myself found ourselves slightly ahead on the track from the ladies. But just as Muzza found this cache they had rejoined us and were happy for us to sign the log to save them scrambling up on the rock. Tftc wozzle68, great view from up here on a great Autumn morning!

Whilst at wozzles68's Easter Escape event perpetuallylost offered a seat in his geomobile to go on a track to look for another four caches in the area. Mrs 2y'stassies joined two others and perpetuallylost and headed off. After parking nearby, the group headed off on foot to the cache. Accurate coordinates, the hint and a group effort resulted in the well hidden cache being in hand rather quickly. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks wozzle68 for this cache and others in the area, and to perpetuallylost for providing the transport.
Out with perpetually lost driving, muzza and just1YsTassie to find a few caches. A bit of uphill to gain this cache. Thanks wozzle68

After leaving the van t the oval a wise choice considering the way the track had further degraded, I continued on mountain bike and enjoyed a well earned rest here (I'm very unfit), after a lap of the giant boulder the GPS settled and I soon having a drink to celebrate my find.
Thanks Woozle for this excellent series

Out for a walk today to find the last few caches remaining for us on my beckworth. TFTC.
Love the hide Found whilst on the 2017 #gnomehome adventure around the Australian continent. thanks for the cache and thanks for bringing us here.
I've not ventured too far up this road but today on the way to footy at Waubra we came here to nab these two last caches. A lovely walk up (so rough - don't think our 4WD would make it). Such stunning views too. Cache took me way too long to find but eventually after a PAF I got there. So many amazing rock formations around! Many thanks for the cache.
TFTC - Out with Crackers from team Crack'n'LeeLee exploring the area and collecting caches in this series.
Out and about today with Ed from 2beez to check out the camping possibilities here and grab a few of this series as well.
After dumping the Prado at the oval we walked to this one and found the well camoed hide. Blended in well. Thanks for this series.

Found with becca85, boo09 & muggle uncle in his 4x4. Lots of fun!TFTC, sorry for late log.
With a fresh bout of rain that has encouraged some green grass growth, this one was well hidden. I was actually in the process of PAF when I spotted a glint of something familiar. Only now as I am logging have I finally understood the hint. #Natural Blonde
The road here was dicey and some bushwalkers were lovely enough to warn us that it gets worse ahead. Yikes!
Mt Beckworth has been the location of my closest un-found caches for quite some time now (minus the occasional newbie that pops up which is of course converted quick smart)...
I had found all of the caches along one road a couple of years ago in my super low XR6 and that was not ideal.
Last week my brother in law bought himself a 4WD but no-one was interested in going 4WD'ing with him. No-one except me anyway!
I promised to take him to a good location to test out his new rig if he promised not to whinge about stopping for some caches.
We set off after lunch with boo09 & neisha07 in tow and while they had a wonderful time, I discovered I may have a little bit of anxiety.
We made our way from Gnarly dude to up several hundred metres past Marbles before I chickened out and convinced brother in law it was best we turn back.
Hopefully his first adventure geocaching was not too horrible and we can convince him to take us out again to finish off some more.
I think we will access Hanging around from the opposite direction next time!
Although I still have many more to go, it was great to knock off a chunk of the Beckworth caches. TFTC!

A cool spot for a cache find with friends, including the CO himself!
2/5/17 - A great spot that now has a smiley on the map This is one of many caches we targeted and found today.
Oh my goodness, yet another day out with the hilarious boys - Wozzle68 and Snap Happy, once again the giggles were non-stop. [^] I think we all got an education . We cached in Mt Beckworth where Pete got to show off his spectacular 4WD skills, and also cached in various spots all the way to Maryborough where we attended a dinner event.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've had a big, but generally a relaxing couple of weeks away in Victoria from SA.
Ballarat, Border track, Pinnaroo, Bendigo, Wedderburn, Swan Hill, Maryborough, Mt Beckworth and Mt Gambier are just a few of the spots I have visited during my caching trip. There was an emergency room visit, loads of driving, stacks of laughter, amazing food, lots of new learnings (oh my goodness!!), and a wonderful mix of fabulous people.
I am loving this country and getting out and about in it!
Thanks for the cache wozzle68!

Continuing on from the oval the track got rougher and seems to get little use. Once in teh right position the hide was soon spotted. Good views. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Found the cache nicely tucked away, thanks wozzle68. Stunning area and a great series.
Now at home reading the logs, I am glad that I didn't proceed round the bend from the Oval, as even those with more serious 4x4s didn't attempt! Thanks Mrs Plow, your judgement was spot on. Some nasty rocks on the way to this one. Well it is a mountain covered in granite boulders!
Will now fully recovered from his Bull ant bite, hopped rocks with me and spotted the cache. He really has his eye in now!
This was our **second** (edited) last for the day. We have collected some clues along the way and we will definitely be back. The thrill of the chase is very addictive, especially when some challenge and great views are thrown in.
Thanks so much for his series wozzle68, it is full of variety and certainly is not boring! I will be recommending this series to others (who have at least an AWD or who don't mind walking up hills!)

Today was planned with a cache trip to Ballarat and the Mt. Beckworth area for another geocaching adventure. DAB, Ausfox and myself met early, packed the geo vehicle with plenty of drinks as we knew today was going to be a hot day and we were on our way. We made it to our destination for the day and were greeted with a very hot Mt. Beckworth. Plenty of tall, dry grass which would have been a snakes paradise but thankfully none were seen. This area saw us definitely push the terrain rating, I would not recommend a small car for this section. Even in the 4WD, it was interesting at times, but fun. The views were nice but were were struggling in the heat at this stage. We had to ditch the 4WD as the road was undriveable at this point. This one found quickly and one to go in this section. Stamped and replaced as found.
**Thanks for placing this trad cache and series wozzle68**
**Cache container and log in good order**
**Took nothing, Left nothing**

Joined up with Na'wal and DAB to spend the day caching around Ballarat and Mt Beckworth. I'm glad we stocked up with fluids as as the temperature soared. With the long dry grass we were weary of snakes.
We left the car just above The Oval as the roads had become more suitable high clearance vehicles such as rock hoppers. With the day at its hottest we carried only what was required which basically was water and a pen. Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache wozzle68

Today I was in the company of Ausfox; and Na'wal. There had been a bit of chatter about Mt.Beckworth recently, so we decide to give this series a crack. I had never been here before, so I was really looking forward to it. We knew it was going to be warm and even though our phones said it was 31 degrees, it felt a lot warmer than that by early afternoon. Apart from a couple of walkers around the back of the mountain, we had the whole area to ourselves. Ditched the car and walked, seeing as I couldn't select 4wd. The heat was energy sapping here. TFTC wozzle68
Love the area out here at Mt Beckworth and throughly enjoying the caches on offer this morning. Thanks wozzle68 for the cache.
Well this was going to be a big day for Suscoe.
Up early and off with long shadows stretching across the ground in the early morning.
A sunny day with the temperature around 30 degrees during the afternoon was going to be warm but thankfully a breeze sprung up during the morning and kept going all day and so it cooled Suscoe down at times when it was most needed.
This was the 18th find of the day.
Parked at the end of the track up the middle and walked to these five caches.
Just one more and then I can turn downhill.
Thanks wozzle68, a lovely view.

Spent the day out with Yogster, Jageredwings and families. Had 5 Retrivers with us and the all had a ball. Thanks for the hides Wozzle.
TFTC. Out for the day with the GeoFamily and half of Clan McStormy to conquer the Beckworth Beckons Series, cache number 20.
Well, walked in from Oval as the Geobus refused to go any further. Soon had the cache in hand as the coordinates were spot on.

Catching up on some late, very late and extremely late logs (400 in all)
I would like to thank wozzle68 for placing this cache. I always enjoy getting out and about to view this great country of ours and caching allows me to do that. Once at GZ, I sometimes find the cache quickly but sometimes it takes awhile to sus out the well camouflaged hide. Once found, log is signed and the cache is rehidden as found.
Once again thanks wozzle68.

We were here with micaparamedic to help Highrod and The morris celibate their 10 years of caching but also hoping to grab a few more of this fantastic series.
We were making our way up this track that was getting more fun with every turn and we actually drove past this one and had to walk back but the views on the way made it well worth while.
micaparamedic went high and I went low and between us we located the nicely hidden cache and happily added our name to the log.
Our thanks once more wozzle68 for another nice hide.

We are on a road trip to attend "The Melbourne Event" Mega, taking our time to get there and on the return journey. Fortunately, there were lots of caches along the way to tempt us to stop for a while to smell the roses. This was one of those caches.
We had made our way to Ballarat to attend the GIFF Event and having been told about another event to be held at Mount Beckworth, we decided we would attend that one to and find the nearby caches. After spending time with everyone at the Mount Beckworth event, we headed off on our cache hunt, but we soon caught up with others along the way.
Thank you wozzle68 for having placed the cache for everyone to enjoy

found after a nereby event and what a grate view The Morrises as the 4x4 driver and many thank to Chad from The Morrises for your servies as driver
Found by Mary & David with Alansee at 1500. Drove on up the hill after The Oval, but our geoPrado only has standard suspension, and after a couple of hundred metres the track got too rough and we found a spot to park then walked on to the last two caches. This one was easy to spot from the right angle. Our thanks to wozzle68.
Maccamob had decided to park the 4WD short of this one and went for a walk on this lovely day. He found the cache in a spot that I had already looked, although not from a good angle.

A very rocky day on which we inspected boulders and other rocks and enjoyed some 4 wheel driving where we normally would have walked. The vulture made the find here. While he signed the log, we admired another terrific view.
Thanks for bringing us here!
Thanks for bringing us here!
After a nearby event, the offer was made by 1/2 of HighRod (the taller version) for a little 4wding adventure with Suss_Vulture tagging along.
Saw some great views, some awesome locations, some awesome 4wding and of course some caches along the way.
Thanks for bringing us here Wozzle68.

I sooooo had my eyes closed for part of the drive here!! Omg!! Worth it though cos there's caches up here. Epic views once I opened my eyes again!! Tftc
This was an awesome drive up to this one!! Great job mippy05 for finding this one!! Tftc
Rock on wozzle68, great job and what an awesome view. A fantastic 4x4 track up to GZ. Cache in good condition.Happy 15 years of geocaching
Found by The Empire @ 2:15pm
Find number 27 of 40, around Mount Beckworth today. Track looked to need a 4WD with at least a lift kit, I ditched the Jeep and headed off on foot. It was a nice walk to the next two caches. Left my pencil in the Jeep so I had to etch my name in this log, luckily there was a pen in the next one! Thanks for the cache, and the series wozzle68.

Started driving the geo-truck towards this cache, but the rocks just started getting too big for this vehicle to scale. So we parked carefully off the track and walked out way to this and the next cache. The views from up here are spectacular, to say the least. TFTC Wozzle68
Things are pretty busy at home at the moment as we start to pack up prior to our big move. There are lots of things to do....and I really don't feel like doing any of them. Therefore it seemed a lot more sensible to load up the ute and go caching.
I have been wanting to give the Mt. Beckworth caches a crack for a while now, so it seemed like no time like the present. With the cloud cover, the GPS was all over the shop (talking to someone else who was caching elsewhere at the same time they were having the same issues), however a bit of geosense soon got me over the line.
I looked at the track here and thought it would be a bit of fun to drive up it. However, the further I walked the rougher the track got...yeah, not a good idea for a 2WD. Glad I used shank's pony instead.
Mt. Beckworth, until today I had only seen from the road at 100 km/hr. However there seems to be a number of little ecosystems linked together. I was hitting the rocky country, and what a great piece of the Earth it was too. Lovely place for a wander, and the rain that was intermittently spitting down on me was just awesome.
I soon found the cache's hiding spot and signed the log. I sat there for a few moments just taking into my surrounds and enjoying the silence, only interrupted by the laugh of a far off kookaburra.

Located this one straight away but didn't see it 'til some time later. Misread the description and was looking for the wrong sort of container. Once I reread it, after an initial lack of success, it was quickly in hand. Many thanks Wozzle68.
We travelled over to spend the weekend camping at Mt Beckworth and complete the well regarded series. We picked a great weekend weather wise - I wouldn't want to be here when it is too hot. A quick find luckily - this could have been a long look.

This had me thinking for a while until I tried one last spot. Happy is the person who has a lollipop even at the top of Mt Beckworth.

I came to Mt Beckworth to do this series of caches on a cool Sunday as I thought a cooler day would suit me in this type of terrain. All in all it took me 4 and a half hours to do this series plus the 2 caches up on the summit. Luckily I found everything which can sometimes be tricky when there is just one of you!
Lots of prep work last night to read logs and make sure I missed nothing including solving the puzzles.
I was now on foot heading all the way to the summit with a couple more caches in this series on the way. A great hide, almost gave me some serious grief too.
Thanks wozzle68 for a terrific series of caches!

Wow what an outstanding collection of caches – variety, surprise, fun and ingenuity all around Mt Beckworth! We had a great day working our way around the series with our caching pals Ian & Penny.
Good co'ords had us in the right place, it just took a few moments to realise what to do.
Thanks to wozzle68 for the hunt.

Hi there wozzle68. We found your cache "Rock On - Beckworth Beckons" at 11:43:00 AM today in the company of phetlern. This cache makes our find count 10233.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cache run today, it took us to some wild and wonderful places - and the scenic views from some spots were absolutely stunning despite the rain. We definitely wouldn't have found all these wonderful places if it weren't for our obsession.
(Please excuse our cut 'n' paste logs today.)[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2 metres from where the GPS said we should be looking. [:(!]
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Found this series with Sully1 and Tessie the geodog on a warm day here in Central Vic.
A great series with a variety of clever and tricky hides that is definitely not a walk in the park.
This was a tough one to find, such a tiny little fella.
Thanks again Wozzle68

Bogonghazy and I packed a Picnic Lunch and headed for Mt Beckworth today. 28 degrees, no snakes, but a wonderful array of varied caches. We had a decent lunch break in the shade at the first Picnic area, and took Tess the Geodog for a bit of swim in the dam across the track for her to cool down whilst here. The series probably took us a bit longer than 5 hrs (excluding lunch), as there were a few caches we hadn't come prepared for. BH was "on top" of it pretty quickly while I was standing nearby fossicking, still gathering my energy from the walk in. And then it was time to summons more energy in the heat to head to the last of the hides up here. Thanks to wozzle68 for the leg workout, and the cache. Magnificent views from here too.
Poppa rock one big hairy dude. Found rock on cache in the best place available. TFTC wozzle68.
Worked a 12 hour night shift then picked up my chauffeur, and we drove straight to Mount Beckworth (when I say we, BettyBoo3747 did all the driving, and I did all the snoozing!)
We arived about 9am and spent about 5 hours (including lunch), travelling around doing the Beckworth Beckons series. An excellent collection of caches with quite a bit of variety.
We tromped further up the track to this cache. We were looking all over the top of the rock, turns out BB was sitting on it all the time!
Starting to get a good view back to the west from here.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 7135. Robmc and I left Williamstown at 7.00am headed for the new series at Mt Beckworth. After reading a few logs saying how long they took and the trickiness of some of the hides I was filled with dread. Especially seeing the first simple one of the series was a DNF on the way in, after a very long search.
Having gained some strength and a bit of new life after our rest and our lunch we are off to finish the last few - we hope. It proves to be the harder section of the series too. I have never done 4x4 driving before but as I am the chauffeur today I have to bite the bullet and have a go..... Not terribly keen on the going up but the coming back down again was a bit easier. We didn't venture as far as some however - by the tyre tracks we saw. We resorted to the shanks pony method of transport and parked before The Oval.
I was not looking forward to these last couple as I was getting hotter and more tired and do not like walking uphill over rocky ground. This was a funny one as we climbed to the top but could not find it. Eventually Rob made me move and there it was. I had been sitting on it all along. Grrr.
Thanks wozzle68

Find No. 754. Found with FUF009 at 3.15pm.
With FUF009 and our Geo dog Penny, we all headed off for a day's caching to do the Beckworth Beckons series which is a relatively new trail put out by Wozzle68 who we met for the first time at our events in October.
Well FUF009 says it all in his log.
On our way to this one Penny found a prickly critter (porcepine) which she was quite interested in.
At this hide Penny just had to be on top of everything - Another good hide.

Find # 1755 @ 1515 H
After making a decision to spend the day caching together, I hitched a ride with Tyred n Cranky and their Geo dog Penny down to do this relative new series of caches.
Well we knew that Tyred n Cranky's van wouldn't make it up this hill so the decision was made to park near an earlier find and leg it up the hill. plan was to get the four caches of this series and then to continue on to the top for the 2 older caches.
Long story short, To the top and back 4ks, 2h50min, 6 caches, and 3 drenched adults and one wet dog, yep we got caught in the rain on the way down. but one hell of a memory and a lot of fun.
All this climbing is was taking a toll on my legs it was Tyred n Cranky that made the find before I got to GZ but once signed it was back in its hide and we were on out way UP.
