Tied in a walk with geodog with some caching. Mopping up some local caches. GPS a bit bouncy here. Quick find once Id got the right bush. TFTC.
**#21,004**No such curse for us on this one, a quick find, almost didn't need to dismount the bike... although that would make signing the log a bit more difficult!TNLN TFTC
Was out today trying to decide what to do with the weather being so fickle. Decided caching close to the car was a good idea. After an initial search in the wrong place for this one, we changed locations and I spotted something immediately. Logbook has definitely seen better days, but still signable. Tftc #1704
A very apt name for the cache for me today. Cursed indeed as after the signing and replacing I missed my footing in the very long undergrowth, and stumbled, summersaulted over and landed down the bank. Luckily all was good and ATM (also hubbie} rescued me. Nothing hurt except my ego. TFTC and greetings from the UK
#589Arrived at GZ bright eyed and bushy tailed, and found the cache immediately! What a victree
Back on the caching bandwagon once again and time to release the WoW Trackable that we've had for at least a year into the wild.
After falling to find the butterfly at the previous location, I wasn't holding out much hope after bashing the flax and poking the pohutakawa, but after peering over the edge I spotted something.
Finally a cache big enough to take a Trackable, so we have dropped TBA2C61 here to begin it's journey.

Lovely scenic walk! Best place to park is El Kobar Place and cross at the lights, make the 10 min walk down here. Will have to take our bikes next time! Thanks for taking us here
Easy to see but harder to actually grab. After I found the best angle it was a quick sign. Thanks!
Found some contraband in this little container… luckily we promptly removed it. Tftc
Struggled to identify the cache at first due to its camo. Found w Teo and Scaupsh. TFTC
Really close to where the police were doing there investigations into the crash so soon beat a retreat back to the main trail across the road.
The recipe - mrs c at work? Check. Me, with a day off to go caching? Check. A decent weather forecast? Check. And so it came to pass that I headed out to Highbrook for a few hours caching having visited the area earlier in the year for some vaccination stuff, and not enough time to do the area justice. Plenty of finds this morning, but a nasty accident on Highbrook Drive early this morning meant coming in from Pakuranga way, and back the same way. All good though. Even encountered another family out caching, kylerrrr, and saw them a couple of times on the trails, nice. Thanks to all COs.

Back in Highbrook again to finish the day. A walk in the park that finished in the dark. No worries here. TFTC
Wandered around a bit and finally decided to give what I thought of as a tree a look. Maybe it is a bush because there I found the cache. Thanks for placing Trout-fly and Josie - this find has me one up over DNFs today - the worst result day I have ever had. Nice to have another smile.
Mr 11 was searching in the wrong place for this cache, I let him try and work it out and he soon found the area he should have been searching.
Great views through this trail.

Mrs HeMaLuDy has signed up for a few virtual 5 km walks, and today was the day for one of them so we headed this way to break up the walk with a few caches. A nice quick find here.
I was with another cacher back in July 18 when we found this one. I was not caching back then but have now decided to create my own account. So logging in retro and hope that is ok.
We found it!
We looked everywhere for it
We looked in the obvious places, not there!
So we found the zero coordinate and looked a few metres all ways and found something that didn’t look quite right and there it was!!!
Thanks heaps for the cache!!

Today's mission was to explore Highbrook. We just did this side of the track and will return another day to do the rest of the track. Lovely sunny day for a ride. The pohutukawa's in beautiful deep red bloom. We really enjoyed the trail ride today. Took a while to locate GZ then all good. SL. TFTC.
Met with Aiden29 as part of the Auckland Meetup group for a walk around Highbrook, took a couple of hours and was very windy, but a beautiful suny day.
Not where I expected it to be, but soon had it in hand. TFTC

Taking a walk along the river while waiting for some passengers to arrive at the airport
I was a little puzzled when I approached the cache by car and couldn't find a spot to park. I probably should have read the cache description beforehand... I stopped at the first opportunity that came up, which was the public car park at the end of the park.
On a very windy day, but without rain, I enjoyed the walk to GZ. Nicely hidden and easy to find, Took TB. Thanks for hiding an maintaining and also for bringing me here.

Nice sunny morning, although a bit of a bite in the air, so out with the bikes and headed off to explore an area not done before. Dropped off a couple of TBs. TFTC
A nice afternoon stroll along this walkway today collecting as many of the caches as we can.Gz wasn’t as we were expecting as we made our approach but quickly spotted a small geotrail and a good place for a find.A couple of trackable inside but decided to leave today as I have a few others I need to hide first.
Came over here on a work lunchtime break. Phone GPS didn’t point to anything very specific, so I tried what I thought looked obvious, not there. Other side of the path, not there. Come on, TD, can’t be that hard. Widened the search area, spotted a place that looked like it could be, and it was. Left the two TBs in the container. TFTC
A fine Holy Saturday and a chance to get out and find some of the new caches out at Highbrook. A small group comprising of Mr. Kiwi from LiverKiwi and his muggle brother, LordCacher08, AntNZ and son, met up to grab some caches while everybody would have been enjoying the Easter break.
We approached GZ along the track and started to figure out exactly where the cache was hidden. We thought it would be in one place, but it wasn't, in another place, and it wasn't. We tried a few places as we searched a rather wide area for the cache.
In the end, it took a little bit of wandering around the outside of the cache indicator on the phone and zeroing in on where co-ordinates for the cache. Once we figured out where the cache was more than likely hidden it was just a matter of finding a route to where we were meant to go. Mr. Kiwi headed on in and after a quick search at GZ, something suspicious was spotted and straight away the cache was revealed. The log was signed for all present and the cache returned to it hiding place.
Looking at the SWAG that was in the cache, Mr. Kiwi remembered that he had been dragging a TB around for quite a while and it was time that it moved on. So it got left in this cache hoping to continue it journey.

Caching today with themexikiwi and tried our luck here. Took a little bit of path crossing before we honed in on the right place to look, but didn't take too much to figure out and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC
No real plans made for today but Auckland was the place to go.
We still have in excess of 2,000 caches in area to find and log so this is going to take some time to complete.
Spur of the moment and teamed up with ABCDF4,Eyespyben & Squirrel Nutcase.
Thought we would hit one area and try to clean it up. Apart from one cache that is disabled, think we got the rest plus a few outer lying caches on way home.
All caches signed as Team HRP (Huntly,Rotorua,Papamoa) This being our home towns.
Thanks to cache owners for their placements. SLTFTC

Got up and decided to go to high brook to clean out some caches and the sign the logs as H/R/P tftc nice hide.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), ABCDF4, and eyespyben... All logs were signed Team H (Huntly) R (Rotorua) P (Papamoa).
Our original plan was to complete the Hakarimata Northern Walkway this weekend. However, the weather deteriorated and we chickened out... An alternative was suggested by our Huntly friends - Let's go up to Highbrook (Auckland). It seems that this location is getting a lot of attention at the moment, with a lot of new placements in the area.
The rain fell more steadily and didn't let up for the rest of the morning. It seemed to come at us from all directions. We were soaked through, but figured we couldn't get any wetter than we were at that moment... Another scratch around in wet foliage... TFTC.

Not what we first thought about bush but Just difficult enough to LOG as found TFTC!
Took a while searching in the wrong place. Once we realised which side it was and there were only trees it was a quick find at the base of a tree.
I apologise for the generic log, but today was all about the numbers. I am attending WENZ in 8 days time, and I want to have the Mega event as my 1000th cache, so I have only these few days to find about 70 caches.
So whilst I'm staying in Auckland for a few days, I wanted to take a look around an area I hadn't previously visited, and therefore "target-rich", which today was the industrial area to the west of East Tamaki.
I decided to follow the pound hound trail (so to speak) in the hope that the forecast showers wouldn't eventuate. But over the course of the couple of hours I was out I got rained on 4 times! But luckily for me I managed to find every cache I went for bar the last one which I took as my signal to call it a day.
Parking up anywhere near this cache was interesting to say the least, but funnily enough I found somewhere within 50m of GZ. This one was a straightforward find thanks to the excellent Hint, and I was able to quickly sign the log and walk to the next cache in the series.
Thanks for the cache, and the reason to discover a new walkway.

Came for a bike ride after work. Parked on El Kobar Dr, and did a loop around the area. After reading the last log I went straight to the right place and quickly uncovered the cache. TFTC
Checked the wrong tree to start with and thought the cache had gone as theres been a lot of tree pruning going on along the pathway. Then tried elsewhere and there it was. Gave it some more cover. TFTC
Find number 4080. This was the 2nd day of caching with new cacher onecoolhand. GPS took us to the right spot but we were not able to make the find. Widened the search to other hint objects but no luck there either. Back to GZ. Stood and searched again and it just was not there. I had actually stated that we had searched long enough and would move on when I looked lower down the bank and there it was. About 2m away. The log was damp and difficult to sign. The cache was popped back as per hint and we left satisfied. Thank you for the placement.
The bountiful experience of KayGeeDee helped uncover this one as it had run away, downhill, from it's regular home. I definitely would have given up but yet again, he made it appear just as I was certain it was gone.
Couldn't find this either. Lots of bushes have been cut down so not sure on this one.
One more time here in Highbrook reading previous logs ans spot on coordinates helps a lot. All good at GZ. TFTC
Followed the geo-trail to the right spot and hey presto, a nice dry-ish log. TFTC.
After a tough week had been needing to get the hell out of Hamilton for a bit and grab a few numbers. So leaving home at 5am with HKCB we had a route all planned and goals in mind we headed for a few caches in south Auckland along with working our way up towards Botany.
When we left home it was dark, when we arrived home it was dark, so all in all not a bad days caching with 52 caches found along the way. There were lots of laughs and solving of the worlds problems along the way, but the one thing neither of us could grasp was how can people bear to live in such a rabbit warren? still that remains a question for the universe.
Thanks to all the cache owners for putting them out and continuing with the maintenance

I was invited to head out with C&D on another caching trip, this time to Auckland to focus on the hides in the Dannemora and Flast Bush areas, plus a couple of other cache clusters a bit further South. An early start meant we got the most out of the day with over 50 finds, on a wide range of caches, which varied the day nicely. I myself had no specific plan for the day, bar there were a couple of puzzle caches in the area which I had solved and was hoping to finally claim the smilie for.
All in all another great day out caching, with the weather gods on our side (bar being very wet underfoot in a few parks), some great hides and as usual great company. A big thanks to all the CO's for the placements.
One cache that has been annoying me for a long time. I pass this cache regularly while visiting family but can never spot and search. With no family to visit today, we had time to search and find the cache.

Aiden29, Jag50 and I decided to clear the caches in Highbrook today. I think the curse with this cache is finding the right bush! Once we'd done that it was a nice quick find.
Joined up with Merlot58 and Aiden29 on a quiet public holiday so had the place to ourselves. After finding the right bush, the cache was quickly located.
Made plans with Jag50 and merlot58 to find all the caches in Highbrook. We had to wait for the muggles and their dog to pass before we could search. Took a bit to locate the right bush, but once we settled on it, it didn't take too long for merlot to have the cache in hand.
A quick find and our last during our evening walk around the area. There was no one else out walking tonight which was surprising as it was such a beautiful evening but fortunate from a caching perspective as it made the search quick and easy.
We admired the view and enjoyed the serenity before heading home.
Thanks Trout-fly for all the great caches you have placed in this fantastic area, they made what was already a lovely evening walk even more enjoyable.
