Thanks. Was bit confused by one of the clues not being quite the same as we counted but put in the number you had then found the cache.
Found at expected coords with the help of a friendly, experienced geocacher. The hint object is quite overgrown so we were very pleased to find this. TFTC
Quick multi whilst at Arataki Visitors Centre and after finding the farmers hint we quickly had the cache in hand. We didn't need to leave the grass, just reached in and grabbed the cache at GZ. Lovely views nearby.
I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Tuesdays focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and Saint John's. Wednesday we ended up caching in the Waitakeries and finished up in Glen Eden, New Lynn and Waterview. Today we're going to geocache around Blockhouse Bay, Green Bay and Titirangi.Yvettetb spotted this one which hadn't been found in over a year. She was determined to get it. I hunted here, there and everywhere trying to even find the hint when Yvettetb finally said 'got it' from the grass. Glad she found it as I was about to give up. Thanks for the multi cache
Rainy day unfortunately so not the best views. Solved the multi and coordinates were spot on. SL TFTC
Found in torrential rain with codehill and philbirdboys after taking a photo in the golden frame! TFTC
Was in the area to celebrate Keylev's completion on the dot day grid. Decided to have a walk around the area to collect the caches nearby.

We answered the questions, and found the final coordinates and at the conclusion of the nearby dot dot dot event today we joined the group and headed up here to make the find of the final. Then the group headed off along the track and we headed back to find the caches and ad labs around the visitors centre.
Very much just along for the ride here and this was the first find after Keylev’s event. I generously hung back to allow others to claim the glory of both having said they’d found all the waypoints and then making the find of the final cache. What a gent I am. Loved the view from near here. Thanks for the yodellicious multi!
Attended an event held at Arataki with the plan to do the loop walk around Beveridge track and the Pipeline Rd. We ended up extending our walk along Exhibition Dr to collect the adventure lab waypoints. In total, the hike was just over 10km on a gorgeous day with keylev, B4Dawn,
@McArgister, Rafajaw, and Demi the geohound.
We figured out the final for this cache while attending the event and then the larger group all headed off towards the final before the smaller group continued on our hike. The log paper is barely holding together, and I didn't have any waterproof paper to add.

Joint effort working out the final coordinates during the "dot dot dot" event, then a mass gathering here to send somebody in to retrieve the cache. After it had been signed and the view admired, most went on the walk the track whilst some of us headed under the road to the loop track.
I found this one after doing a nice little loop walk from the visitor centre. I had found the information when I first got here, but flubbed the coords and ended up with something way too close to another cache. Later on I had another look and realised where I had gone wrong. Much better, so I took a walk up to GZ and made a very quick find of the final right where the hint (and my correct coords) said it would be.
The views from near here are amazing, and made even more amazing by a bright rainbow in the sky. I wouldn't have come here had the final not been there, so thank you very much for bringing me to this spot Now back to the visitor centre again to finish off the Ad Lab!
Almost forgot to mention - the log was very fragile. I managed to sign it but it may need a replacement soon.

We had just done the adventure lab walk and thought we would do this however it was dark and we didn't find it. Will go back at some point

On a day out with Keylev in the west. Got the required info and after doing the nearby nature trail we headed to the final location for this one. Found quickly and admired the views. TFTC!
Out for a short wander with Mrs NZ Travellers, NZ Iceman and laval exploring the area and caching of course. Found all the information needed upon arrival but went for a walk first to complete the adventure lab and find some other trads before returning to find this one. Nice quick find.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found whilst out with keylev, NZ Iceman and Mrs NZ Travellers. Thanks for the fun and the cache.
Today's plan was just for a short walk with my daughter, granddaughter and younger son but the weather where we had planned to walk turned bad. They decided to go one way and I decided to go another. Off along the Scenic Drive and beyond to find a few caches. Collected the information needed to find the cache but made one error that had me going off track a bit until I corrected it. With the right numbers in my GPS the cache was found after a short search. TFTC, Biggles.
Out for a bushwalk in the Waitakeres. Limited options with Kauri Dieback, so we opted for the Slip-Pipeline-Beveridge loop from the Arataki Visitor Centre. Thought we'd start with this one. Info easily to hand, and final in the direction we were heading. Took longer than it should to spot the hint object, but cache all good. TFTC.
While I was here I figured I might as well check out the signs etc, and work out the coords for this one. not too arduous so off I went to the final before heading home for dinner. TFTC!!!
Thanks for the cool multi, a hot day so great view to enjoy. Added a soldier to keep guard of the cache. Cheers
Gathered the details for this one before heading along the loop track walk and returned to make the find here. A nice easy Multi, and the cache was soon in hand here, thanks OneRanger.
I was keen for a trip out today, being the last day of 2020, and opted for a Waitakere ranges walk at Arataki, followed by an easy drive along some other areas of interest. Paired the normal geocaches up with an Adventure lab to yield double figures of 15 caches. Great views and nice to be out of the blazing sun for a little while. Happy New Year for tomorrow everyone!

So pleased to get this one after all the times when its been a rush or bad timing or whatever. Delightful multi thanks
A nice quick find thanks. I was surprised to see so much water in the dam!
Ms_KR and I are up in Auckland for a break. We went for a drive to Aratiki to find an ice cream and a few caches.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

We had decided to go on a morning walk along the Arataki Nature Trail but saw this multi was here and couldn't resist giving it a go.
We thought it might be a bit busier here today being Labour weekend but it was almost deserted so we were pleased to have the unexpected serenity.
We had no problems gathering the required information and then made the short walk to GZ where we made a quick find after Mr Coblet accidentally walked face first into a spider web, despite just seconds earlier pointing it out and saying he would need to be careful to avoid it.
We then enjoyed the nearby scenery in this great spot before heading off back to the nature trail.
Thanks OneRanger for bringing us to this special place we would not have otherwise visited.

Have wanted to do this multi for a long time, happy to be in the area again, doing some maintenance on some caches.
Thanks OneRanger for the hide, and bringing us to this lovely spot

Arataki was the first place other than our local neighbourhood where we went to find a cache when we started caching as clearly recalled by Mrs Tuolei. I checked and yep, one week after we started we did a trip up here but we didn't get this one - I guess then we didn't know how to do multis - checked that and it was a month before we did a multi.
So back now to get the adventure lab and bonus cache here and of course made a point to do this easy multi as well. No problems at all getting the correct coordinates and it was a nice easy walk to the final. There I had to wait a bit as a young man was with his mum doing a photography assignment right next to GZ. So I had a rest on a nearby park bench and after a while they left and I was able to go and get the cache at the obvious spot.
All good here and signed in, picked up the travel bug and dropped off a pathtag. Thanks for the cache, all good here.

After finding the nearby traditional cache, it didn't take long to collect the rest of the info needed for this quick multi while we were at the Arataki Visitor Centre area today, TFTC
didn't take too long to get the numbers needed here, an easy multi is a good multi, tftc
Quick collection of required info, easy maths, and a very quick retrieval between muggles heading up and down. Cool spot, TFTC!!
After the event in Henderson I decided to move on with some more geocaching. Enjoyed the walk. TFTC
Last day of our Southern Hemisphere Adventure. Traveling from Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA. My daughter decided she wanted to come to Piha, NZ for her last day. It did not disappoint. We hiked quite a bit, checked out some waterfalls, walked the beach, climbed some more rock formations in the water watched surfers, ate lunch and most important watched the sun set on the Taz Sea. It really was the perfect day to wrap up an awesome vacation. TFTC.
Up this way this evening and there was (just) enough light to knock off this multi without resorting to the torch. Fantastic evening to be here, great views and some great information about the history of the area. Log a little damp but otherwise cache all ok. TFTC, a favourite.
Had a great walk around the visitor centre and reacquainted ourselves with this place that we had not been to for sometime - really enjoyed looking around this wonderful place with spectacular views.
Managed to gather the info without trouble and after helping Tinytree to try and make a fire (we only managed a few puffs of smoke) at an event being held, took the short walk to the final. This is also a great spot as well that we didn't know about and enjoyed looking around.
Cache is in good condition but log is a little flimsy. TFTC.

We were vollpfosten and was expecting a tractor. Signed a damp log as it started raining. Tftc
We are visiting New Zealand for a couple of days and came to visit the tourist area nearby. We collected information required, and before setting off on the short walk to GZ, we washed our shoes well to make sure no dirt was taken in to the forest. After finding the geocache, we had a look at the beautiful view near GZ.
A favourite for this! Lovely place to visit, great GZ location and good hide.
Greetings from Australia
Thanks

Today was the day that I tried to sign off all the caches on the roadside of Scenic Drive. I was very thankful that I didn't have my snail shell in tow but then being an ex-Aucklander I knew what this road was like.
I was also thankful that today was a weekday when the traffic is a tad lighter.
A nice little multi ending with a good view.
Cheers for the cache.

Stayed the night at the visitor center, pretty much 20 meters from GZ. So solved this one during breakfast and walked to the final after. Quick find and great view point. Thanks oneRanger for the caches here.
Managed to find the required numbers with the promise of an ice cream afterwards. No problems at the final, thanks
Pulled in here to browse through the visitor centre & grabbed the info on the way. Got a reasonable set of coords so headed off. Nobody around at GZ so made a nice quick find. TFTC
Found on Easter Monday when walked to Arataki Center on Beveridge Track. Kids did Arataki Easter Egg Hunt as well. Lots of fun today. Left one TB. TFTC
Staying in Kumeu and came out this way today. Took photos of the info points and worked out the final coords over a coffee in excellent Visitor Centre. Was nice to meet the CO, a warden on the desk today.
Nice easy find at the final GZ.
Thanks for placing and greetings from the .

Did the homework for this one last time we were here (in October), so a quick find today, thanks.
We then followed the track down to the tramline (which was a fairly good estimate of Miss Four's endurance). Dropped TB.

Out with one of my goddies.... miss s. And her mum and jiwivet. Took a little while but found it. TFTC
Don't normally do multis, especially with kids in tow, but this one was just the right level of difficulty. Log is wet.
TF has a bit of an aversion to multis so when he suggested we spent a day finding them I jumped at the chance. No worries here and the cache was soon located. TFTC
A little bit of playing "so where is this plaque then" but all was fine. Thanks.
After a lovely bush walk across the road with Pazzabella I quickly found all the information required and walked to GZ where I found the cache nice and quickly though trying to avoid the gorse proved tricky!
Found on wet day after watching the Duke of Edinburgh Hillary trampers leave on their expedition. Not very good views from lookout unless you like grey - if only the sun was out.
Very busy day at Arataki today, lots of families enjoying the holiday. No one at the final so I was able to get a quick find and return it to its hidey hole with time to spare before a family arrived. Thanks for the informative multi.
Quickly gathered information and cache was soon located. SL and replaced as found.
Found as part of our "2016 Pensioners' Road Trip"
Many thanks to OneRanger for setting this cache and greetings from the Isle of Man.
Cache number 4931
On my way back to my workplace, took time to find some geocaches while spending holidays. Good one TFTC, cheers from Polynesia

Quickly gathered the numbers after checking out the information centre. Then a short walk to the final for a smiley and great views. TFTC
That is a really great lookout point right next to this cache, and I couldn't resist pausing to enjoy the view after making the find. Definitely one of the reasons I enjoy the hobby so much! TFTC! #953
No problems calculating and finding this pleasant multi. We did have a real sense of déjà vu, though. We think we did the calcs another time but didn't search for the final due to muggle activity. Such a great spot we knew we'd welcome another chance. PINO TFTC
Another great find while holidaying in the area. A nice quick at the final and a very enjoyable multi.

After a well earned ice cream we quickly completed this multi and made our way to GZ to make the quick find. Lots of muggles about today but luckily not at GZ. Tftc
Tomorrow we leave Auckland for Mt Maunganui, so it was our last chance to head out to Piha, a first visit for me and a second after many years for StreetWalker. We thought a weekday would be a quieter option than a weekend day, and so it was. What a beautiful part of the country. Many thanks to the COs for taking us to some interesting places.
I always enjoy a good multi which has interesting WPs and a great final, and this was one. We were a bit worried the school group would be heading to the final location too, so we sprinted there to beat them. As it happened, they went elsewhere, and we had the final to ourselves. Fantastic spot, thank you for bringing me here.

Yesterday we could not find this cache, but after we met CO yesterday we drove by again today and searched again. It seemed that we had made a mistake because this time we found it in 5 seconds

A nice easy fun multi. Haven't done one of these in ages. After the find I went up to the lookout. What magnificent views from up here. I always thought the views from the Arataki Visitor Centre were good, but nothing compared to these views. Have been here a number of times but this was my first visit to the lookout. TFTC. And a favourite point from me.
Last time we came here there were no caches, so we were delighted when we saw two on the GPS this time. We found the signs without any problems and the answers to the questions were easy enough. After a short walk we were at ground zero and soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for the cache!
Had just done the mercer bay climb and was heading home. Had 4 of us, so to save space we signed the log as "SEAC" (South & East Auckland Crew)
Was a nice easy multi to do. We headed off to the gz, but there were some muggles on the grass....so we had to go look at the awesome view instead.
Muggles left, so we moved in. Cache was quickly signed.

Having just completed an event at Mercer Bay a group of us were picking up a few caches on our way home and signing the log 'Team SEAC' to save space.
We solved the coordinates for this multi pretty quickly and saw GZ was 70m away. Having just done the climb to Mercer Bay I really didn't fancy anymore walking but forced my legs to carry on.. no pain no gain

We had stopped off for refreshments so decided to have a crack at this multi..... with 4 of us gathering intel the required numbers were obtained and the final was mapped and off we went .... arrived at GZ to find a few muggles , who soon left allowing us access to the cache... quickly signed and returned before the next muggles arrived....

Heading home from the Mercer Bay climb with UncleSamNZ, dragon.griffin and Stik-a-crane. We decided that since we were out this way, in an area where none of us come to often, we may as well grab a few caches while we were here.
Made a pit-stop at the visitors centre, and did the trad, so decided to come and do this one too. Quickly performed the calculations, then headed off to the final.... but wait, another walking track??? We were just about spent after the Mercer Bay climb, but always in pursuit of another smiley, we forced our tired bodies to carry on.
Had to wait for the muggles to move at GZ, so we stopped to admire the gorgeous views. I liked how the signs pointed out the various landmarks around Auckland and beyond. After a few minutes, GZ was enpty, so we were able to quickly go and find the cache.

An enjoyable little multi. The information about the rocks origin was unexpected. Wish the trough had water in it today, whew, it is hot! TFTC!
Vistra and I headed back out after it got a bit cooler to work on the west ones again. Quickly worked it out and made the find, not a great view this evening as there was low cloud cover, had been to the bottom viewing platform but didnt know about the other, have to come back in better conditions

#291 Geodad, Geoboy and Geogirl (Geomum is in Wellington for the weekend) decided to spend this afternoon collecting some of the geocaches up near Titirangi. WHile we completed another cache nearby and the Geokids where watching the short movie on the area, I ducked out and quickly solved the Multi. After short movie I dragged kids to cache area which had many other benefits to see.

Decided to head out Scenic Drive way and ended up at Arataki. Found all the answers for this and made my way to GZ. Nobody around as it was starting to get dark which made for a quick find. Thanks for my first multi - find #12 for the day.
Out with kiwijian for a few afternoon caches today and started with this one. Did the required reading to get the numbers without any hassle and then off to GZ for the final. Had to wait for some fantail enthusiasts to finish taking their selfies so we checked out the sweet view instead.
Quick find once the others had left and a nice spot for the final. Good fun all round, TFTC

Decided to do this one while we were in the area to chase some new caches. Initially we did not find the key information but had a nice time checking out the visitor centre then got down to the serious business of getting those coordinates. Once got it was a quick easy find. Thanks OneRanger
