Very good lots of treasures including a lesson on shunting for our homeschoolers.
We are on a trip in New Zealand. A wonderful country with a lot of (old )caches. There are too many caches so we limit ourselves to the (old) gems or where we happen to make a stop. We found and signed this cache in good condition. doandhopers, thank you for this cache, regards xizat-NL. Take care, this hobby can develop to an addiction.
I had no idea such a plant is in here and I'm very happy this cash bring me to check it out.
I had to come to NZ steel for work reasons and couldnt leave without taking the opportunity to find a cache. TFTC
Out on an afternoon excursion with matagouri to check out this area. The clue didn't exactly line up but commonsense prevailed and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks for putting this here
This afternoon, rattll and I came for a drive up to Glenbrook Beach. Stopped here, paid too much attention to the hint, which turned out to be a little misleading. As a consequence, we spent quite some time hunting in the wrong spot, rather than trusting caching instincts. I finally spotted the cache container almost by chance, about six or seven metres away. All good in the container. Tftc!
Realised we had forgot to log a couple of caches. On our way back from doing the adventure lab in Waiuku we spotted some signs for a steal mill decided to come and have a look and grab a couple more caches whilst we were here. Parked up nearby wondered over to GZ and although not the easiest cache to find we managed to spot it.
Meandering over to Waiuku for the evening and with time for some caching en route I stopped here for a look.
Looked high and low, but went off the rails and left with a DNF
Thanks doandhopers

Quick find. Noticed the fence posts near by, the place i work sends all their plastic there to be made into posts. Tftc
NZ MEGA 2020 (in 2022) road trip - Day 7
Having had a fantastic day on Browns Island on Sunday, another member of Team Done by 1 (RustyNZ) and I arranged to go looking for the Crayola 64 series. Having completed it by mid-afternoon, we decided that neither of us fancied battling peak hour traffic so would do some more caching around this area.
We were lucky enough to have timed our visit perfectly. Having parked up nearby, the cache was a quick find and was soon sporting our names in the log. Then we took a look from the bridge and saw that a train was about to depart, fully laded with Steel Ingots, so watched as it slowly lumbered underneath us. I can only imagine how much each of those wagons must weigh!
Then we were back off on what would end up being a really long, but worthwhile day. I had my best single day ever with over 100 finds
Thanks for placing this cache.

With TwigNZ on our way to Waiuku to get something to eat for dinner
Took the detour to come and find this cache, timed it perfectly as the train was getting ready to leave. Must be pulling some weight, those steel bars look heavy.
Thanks for the hide and for bringing us here doandhopers

It's my Mega weekend road trip! This is day two, a bulk find day, attempting to complete the Crayola 64. Will expand on my logs, post photos, qualifying caches for challenges, etc. When I get home. TFTC

B4Dawn and I had made plans to adventure in the general Awhitu area to walk and clear out some caches but then the rain set in....ah we don't mind that lets go anyway...just pack the waterproof clothes and jackets!! There were periods it was quite clear and others with really bad wind and rain that made us question what the hell we were doing out but as always it was an adventure and of course some smiley faces to be had.
Parked up safely here and took a few minutes to find as we took the first part of the hint too literally. Expanded the search and soon had it in hand.
Thanks for the cache.

Spent an excellent day with Keylev. Super wet day, soggy hiking boots but a boat load of caches to show for it!
This one was a little tricky but Keylev wided her search, grabbed something she thought was the cache. I came in from the other side and confirmed it was and signed. TFTC

Making the most of Auckland Level 3 lockdown allowing movement within the region. Therer was a lot of traffic from the adjacent Steel Mill at GZ. Thanks doandhopers.
Stopped off here to collect this cache and have a bit of a look at the operations
out with agazo and alunb today, signed log as ana, gates are locked so had to go in the hard way, still found the cache though, tftc
Cutest little trinkets in box love that the original person has named an item and its still there tftc
Good to be back in this area. Worked at the mill site a long time ago building the water cooling towers. TFTC
Day 1 on my little weekend Pukekohe escapade - no real plan, just chipping away at the area.
This cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to a straight forward placement, accurate coords and a good hint. In and out - cheers doandhopers, TFTC

Heading to the Leap year event at Awhitu with Merlot58, we detoured to collect this one on our way - a quick park and grab with not too much traffic on a Saturday morning.
Happened to be in the area today with no plan for caching in place so just stopped at a few in the hour or two I had available. This was a quick find nd most difficult was trying to be inconspicuous. THink I managed. Thanks for placing doandhopers.
Headed out this way to find some of the new Crayola puzzle caches, claiming FTF on 5 of them before continuing further afield. Pretty quiet on the road today, but parked further down the road and walked to GZ. A quick find before continuing on.
Yay nice hide easy hide. We forgot our pen however there was one but no ink lol so we imprinted our name on log sheet. Cheers
Nice spot. Cache all good. Watch out for the traffic it is a very busy road. Dont forget to go to the Mill lookout to see the steel mill. Trees block some of it now but worth a look.

Found together with Greenkiwikids and Piratenschatzsucher!. Signed as team Piraten. TFTC
Out and about taking advantage of a free afternoon to find hides around rural south west Auckland. It's nice to blow the cobwebs away with a drive in the countryside. Not the best weather for it as there is cold wind blowing. The sun has now set for the evening and I am ready to head for home. But not before I grab two last hides by twighlight. I parked up just along from GZ and made the short walk back. Tried a few spots before getting the correct one. Cheers for the cache placement!
Making our way home after a successful FTF hunt out near South Head. We stopped nearby and one of us quickly spotted the items mentioned in the hint. The cache was in hand very soon after. Thanks.
First stop here this morning and a nice quick find. Lots of people going to work but paid no attention to me. TFTC
There were a few cars passing when we parked but no more came past at all while we made the find. There was a pen nearby, probably left by a previous finder.
Nice view from the bridge. TFTC.

Out and about today picking up local caches. What a great place to stop and watch the shunting if your lucky to see it. Very busy road.TFTC would have never stopped here.
Parked up a ways and then walked back...few cars came whizzing through but no drama, quick search and there it was. No sign of activities on the tracks today. Thanks for the cache.
