On a 4 day tour of the island. We enjoyed this walk a lot. Amazing variety of plants and lovely invisible stream TFTC
What a great spot. Especially when you think: hey, that water is murky, to discover it is actually crystal clear with a sand reflection under it.
Loved the rainforest and the small walk.
Thanks for the cache from the Netherlands!

AustraliaA country that has fascinated me for a long time. But the distance to get there was just as great as the desire to drive there. So it was dreamed but not implemented. But then our friend nalfion moved again. And this time to Down Under. That gave the go-ahead to plan a little more firmly for the first ideas and fantasies. The bosses were asked about a longer vacation and then we went to the travel agency with our rough ideas. For such a complex thing we wanted to have support. And after a few appointments there, the basic structure was in place.During our summer holidays we went to Sydney via Singapore, where we spent 2 days. 2 days in Sydney city and then we went with a small camper van with the whole family via Katoomba to Cairns. Our friend lives in Adelaide so ended up staying there for a few more days at the hotel before heading back to Germany without any lengthy stops via Melbourne and Singapore.A wonderful holiday that at least brought us a little closer to this huge country and gave us many great memories. We spend a few days in Urangan to make a day trip to K'gari.Such an amazing island with such a beautiful lake.We even saw some Dingos, but only out of our coach. Thanks for the Cache.
Friends of mine from Germany were visiting me in Australia. While travelling through Australia, we found this cache. This cache was logged together with Bari_MS.
I was on a day trip to Fraser Island with Marcussjd9. He had booked the trip and when he sent me the itinerary I was glad to see that we had a stop off in Central Station.

The coordinates had me confused at the start but I just figured to enjoy myself and go with the flow, that soon had me in the right place, that place was Paradise… how beautiful… we had a great time, pity about the cashes up drunk bogans in the car park who wanted to blow their horns, rev their engines and just generally act obnoxious/they somewhat spout the serenity
Otherwise a fab day and location

A wonderful location hidden in the centre of Fraser Island. Take your time with this one. It's worth it. I was lucky enough to have this boardwalk to myself right up to when I was about to leave. Great location. The information boards and buildings just outside of the boardwalk are worth a visit as well, very interesting history here. Thank you for this Earthcache.

Swellerfungus Thanks for the cache and yellow dandelion.
Our huge Australian adventure is slowly coming to an end. We saw a lot and it left us with a lot of emotions that we will be happy to remember with gratitude for a long time.
We've also fished a nice line of caches here, and we haven't logged the caches that require submitting answers to questions yet. There's just no time for that. Today there is a little left, so I am logging this very interesting cache that Joodie and I visited during our visit to the island. Although we only had one day here, we managed to see the maximum that was possible to see.
Hopefully, the island will retain as much of its natural beauty as possible and continue to be admired by people from all over the world.

On a great Fraser trip with Muggle65. Loving every stop. Wish we could do so many more. Thank you for the fun
Off to catch up with some friends on Fraser Island. This is my first trip here so I’m due to find some oldies and gather some great D/T caches. We are enjoying the inland roads. We’ve found some go further than others
This was our lunch spot and there’s heaps to see and do here That includes the sound of slapping as tourists did battle with the bitey March flies
I had decided to only log Earthcaches on my first visit to K’Gari. It was a fab 11 hour day!
Lovely walk along the boardwalk and the tour guide explained everything really well. The water in the stream is so clear. I didn’t drink it ‘tho we were encouraged to. Then had time to explore this area.

Time for another Bromance adventure - this time a 65 k hike over selected portions of the Fraser Island Great Walk. Sadly, however, it is not a complete Bromance team, with the CO unable able to join us for this adventure.
Yesterday, we hiked from Kingfisher Bayt o Central Station for the night, with stops (and refreshing swims) at Lake McKenzie and Basin Lake. The weather was perfect. albeit a little warm, the walking fantastic (once we were on the trails after taking a nice shortcut down a road from Kingfisher) and the company pleasant.
Today's effort involves hiking from Central Station through the magnificent Pile Gully - a real highlight of the adventure for me - and then onto Lake Wabby, mostly following the old logging tram line routes.
With a good sleep and my pack considerably lighter today after last nights huge dinner of rump steak, grilled asparagus and mashed potato, I felt energised for the day.
Knowing I still had to collect the information for this EC, I packed up a little earlier than the others and wandered down to complete the full length of the boardwalk again - adding another kilometre to the day's considerable tally. With the answers collected, I headed to the start of the track to Pile Gully. Whilst waiting for the vertically challenged Seff and Dez, the token female of the group, to get packed up and do her make up, I sat quietly by the creek, amazed by the birdlife around me.
More than a little surprised to see that this EC is unloved as it is a magical spot, most deserving of a cache. Answers have been sent to the Co and approval to log the find received. Many thanks Fungus. Sorry you couldn't join us.

Over on the Island for a couple of days adventure ( including the storms and flooding rains). There was a little bit of drizzle as we walked along the boardwalk which seems to make the place even more magical.
I was here previously on my Fraser Fat Bike adventure and had collected the information then, seems I didn't send the info or log the cache. Well that is my excuse for having to come back here.

A few days on K'Gari - Fraser Island, and a 2 day tour of some of the beauty spots
2nd stop - Central Station
No one else around except our small group and had the creek walk to ourselves
Plenty of time to gather the answers on the walk.
Beautiful spot, loved the tall timbers and forest of elks and stags at the day use area.
Answers compiled, and message to be sent to the CO directly
Top spot

Finally catching up on all my logging from a recent trip north with geo friends chamad and TripleTurnmoil. Have always wanted to come to Fraser Island, has been on the bucket list for such a long time and to finally come here, well it lived up to all my expectations plus more.
Wanggoolba Creek was certainly a little hidden gem and was such a pleasure to visit.
Answers sent and approved by CO.

This place is special. Partially ruined by many signs warning about dingos. It is amazing how after 80 years the forest regenerates from being logged. Well worth the visit.
A three day camping road trip with Snickersallan, Triple turmoil and myself was organised to see Fraser Island, Rainbow Beach and Double island point. What a fantastic time we had; driving around enjoying the scenery, bush walks, visiting lakes, lunch and dinners on the beach, and a great camp site at Dundubara. The trip was full of laughs and great companionship, thank you.
We knew we were going to be in for a long couple of days, so it was an early start and with a couple of target caches in mind we set off to on the 6.30am barge.
This was our first earth cache of five for the trip. a very nice area and we enjoyed the drive up with no one else on the tracks it was very pleasant.
Thanks for bringing us here, great little spot.

I have never had the opportunity to visit Fraser Island. Chamad wanted an adventure. A road trip and I am super grateful that he took me along. We had a 3 day road trip, on Fraser Island, Double Island Point and Rainbow beach, plus a detour on the way home to Brisbane through Gympie, Boreen Point and Noosa. Snickersallen joined us too and it was great to meet someone new, especially someone fun to cache with. So many laughs, frustrations and more laughs. Lots achieved. Some road blocks preventing some wanted achievements, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway.
This place was beautiful. There was a tourist bus that arrived at the same time as us. Would have been nice to have the place to ourselves, but we still enjoyed the walk.

We were on a day tour from Kingfisher Bay and this was one of many highlights of the day. Not very busy here today, apart from our tour group of 15, we only saw about 6 other people in this beautiful place. Answers sent. TFTC
We have had the opportunity to visit Fraser island on our trip north.
This island has long been on our radar, and so we made the most of every minute.
Our trip down to Wangoolba Creek was a highlight.
The creek was like crystal in its clarity and cool amongst the large growth forest.
Thanks Swellerfungus for taking the time to highlight this area through your earthcache.
A FP added.
We loved this walk.

While holidaying at Hervey Bay, my family and I had a day trip to Fraser Island. We got to see a dingo casually wander up the beach, occasionally stopping to scratch itself. Had such an amazing time! A couple of months ago my Mum sent answers on my behalf. TFTC!
While holidaying at Hervey Bay I had booked a day trip for the family to Fraser Island. I was so glad to see that four of the destinations had earthcaches. It was an amazing day. It was lovely to do the rainforest walk here and to see the crystal clear creeks. My answers were sent to the CO a couple of months ago on behalf of my daughter Pinkypie05 and myself. TFTC!
Love this setting.... I try to imagine what it was like 50 years ago when it was a township with active logging. Thankfully it’s no longer being used for that purpose.

This was another stop on our 4wd tour. It was great to take the time and walk along the creek, it was made even better as we had the place to ourselves! Saw an eel in the creek and marvelled at the vegetation surrounding us. Such a beautiful place, thanks for placing this earth cache Swellerfungus.
Another beautiful stop on the 4WD bus tour. We already have been in Cape Trib and did a hike near Eungella, but the rainforest keeps on amazing us. And the purity of the water of the creek, it's hard to believe!
We made a short walk with our friendly guide.
Very interesting place.

My favourite weekend of the geocaching year!
International Earthcache Day weekend!!!
I make sure to plan something a little out of the ordinary, this year was an adventure to Fraser Island
We didn’t have much time here so made the most of it. I love this area in the cool depths of the rainforest with beautiful clear waters. I haven’t been here since I did work experience many moons ago as a park ranger.

The calendar event of the year. Every year NyssaFlutterby comes up with a fantastic weekend away for us girls (NyssaFlutterby, wombles and co, membsec, team nanabombana and I) Earthcache Weekend, and this one was no exception. And usually they are planned as soon as the previous Earthcache Weekend is over.
This year it was to be Swellerfungus Island, also known as Fraser Island to the non SEQ caching educated.
Although the forecast wasn’t necessarily for great weather, we were determined to go through with our adventure and enjoy it anyway. So, up early, and off to grab a coffee before meeting the tour bus and heading on our way.
Soon the Manta Ray was unloading and our Island journey began.
First stop...
Morning tea stop at Wanggoolba creek.
The tour guide wasn’t giving us long here at all, and told us to only walk as far as the steps and not go down them. Welllllll, who are we to be told!! So a couple of a snuck down those steps to check out that gorgeous clear creek water!
Then it was a rush back to the bus for morning tea and to continue the day. However, post lunch, our bus took us to within 80 metres of it after our tour bus driver had needed to head back for his forgotten phone, so it was swift work required for us to complete this cache!
This was our first introduction to the amazingly clear water of Fraser Island, and of course the amazing king fern here too.
Thanks for the eaethcache Swellerfungus.

Lady membsec came up from Tassie especially for Earthcache weekend which has become a tradition amongst a few of the girls! We were excited to find a tour that would take us to some Earthcaches on our way around Fraser Island.
Today this one had us scratching our heads for a short time as our morning tea area was only 1.3km from GZ but our walk only took us to some steps and we were told not to go down the steps but did that stop some of us! Nope, a quick walk down got us to the creek but not close enough to GZ. Disappointed we raced back for morning tea which was delicious. Back on the bus and a visit to another landmark area for a swim and lunch the back on the bus we started to get excited as we neared GZ......oh wow, only 80m....woohoo! What a lovely area to do a walk but a pity we had to race around trying to gather all the necessary information so we could achieved a smilie for this cache as our bus driver had left his phone behind at another location and returned to retrieve it making this a flying visit! Need to come back for a more relaxing experience. Thanks for showing this area to us, an area that I haven’t been to before.

Our answers have been sent and thanks for bringing us here.

We made a one month road trip through Australia. This was one of the Earthcaches that led us to a nice place. It was fun driving on the sandy 'roads' with the hired pink Landcruiser. This was our first stop and it was nice to walk on the boardwalk through this tropical forest.

First geocache back in Australia and first earth cache in a while. Earth caches are becoming my favorites. Fraser Island is such a unique environment. I'm glad I was able to spend a few days here and experience more of it. Highly recommend the camping at Dilli Village as it's fenced in (no dingos allowed) and very affordable. Brought along some TB's for the adventure.
Logged with permission.
Found during a recent visit to the island to do a pack walk on the "Great Walk" track.
We really did learn a lot about the geology of the Island from having done the Earthcache.
It's an amazing place.
Only had one close encounter with a dingo during the whole trip.
Thank you for the Earthcache.

This creek is nothing like the ones back home in NZ. So clear and so quiet with no stones etc to slosh over. Stunning. The whole trip with Riser5 has been great. Tftc
Found this one in the beauty spots tour yesterday.
Great day. Great sites. Very informative.

Had a walk through the forest when the bus driver dropped us off at one end and met us at the other end. Lots of large spiders spotted (and avoided) and an interesting walk ensued.
Thank you.
Thank you.
We were on a beauty spots trip today and were given a chance to walk along this part - ideal! There's an earth cache here too!!!
What a lovely walk - saw lots of bugs, spiders, crystal clear waters and pretty, scenic rain forest!
Seen a bit of everything today!!!

Today Roxyline and myself had an exiting trip on Fraser Island. This is a real paradise. Even we could only get a blimp it was a wonderful day with magic moments at Lake McKenzie, Central Station, The Pinnacles and Eli Creek. We had the chance to absolve during our guided tour some earthcaches. Also this one was part of it and the answers were sent already. Many thanks for placing and maintaining of this earthcache, Murphy.law
Today we had the pleasure of visiting this site and while there collected our answers for this cache. The boardwalk is still closed for about 15m (due to a fallen tree) but we were able to walk both ends to find our answers. We saw a few large skinks here and a large eel in the creek.
Central Station has a very interesting past - spent ages reading all the info boards.
Logging with CO’s permission.
Thanks heaps for this earthcache Swellerfungus. Such a beaut spot.

During an amazing day trip to K'Gari/Fraser Island we found this earthcache at a stunning beautiful spot. Unfortunately a fallen tree destroyed the boardwalk, so we weren't able to reach the second sign. Luckily we got the log permission nevertheless - thank you for being so kind!

Got off the barge and started our trek across the island to get to our camp near the Mahino wreck before the tide really gets high. However we still had a bit of time to explore this wonderful place once again. So peaceful - everyone speaks in hushed tones.
Thanks Swellerfungus.

In Queensland with the geo family for a holiday and today we headed to Fraser Island on a day trip tour. What a stunning place. Just like I remembered from 25 years ago from the photo on my parents wall. Magical! Answers have been sent. Many thanks for a fabulous cache.
We visited this stunning location towards the end of a great day exploring the island and its highlights. To me, this place was probably the most naturally beautiful of them all.
I have emailed to the CO.
Thanks Swellerfungus for setting up this earthcache in such a magnificent setting.

I unexpectedly found myself on Fraser Island today for work. Even better it turned out that our job was not nearly as time consuming as it might have been and we had 3 hours to fill in before the next barge back to the mainland.
Having rendered Eurong safe once more we meandered our way back over the sand towards Kingfisher Bay. Lucky for me one of my co-workers does Tag-along tours on the island and he knew the spots to visit with limited time.
We arrived at Central Station and I wondered if there were any caches here. No phone service. I was pretty sure on of the earthcaches was here and another at Lake McKenzie.
We did not have too much time to waste here, so it was a quick lap around the creek loop. I did take 4 photos on the loop and two of those have proved most useful.
I did visit Fraser a number of years ago with my Mum. I know we visited this spot then too. I have a photo of the beautiful fig tree at the start of the loop. Sadly it is no longer standing. It took a tumble a few weeks ago.
Answers sent to the CO. I can say despite being one of the longest days at work, we left Cannon Hill at 5:30 and returned at 9:30pm, it was a pretty cool day out.

Having a weekend spare we head up to Gread Sandy National Park and Fraser Island for two most rewarding caches. [double island point](https://coord.info/GCKDN6) and [Wanggoolba Creek](https://coord.info/GC5FQDK). The creek displays incredible beauty and we feel like in a different world. The boarded sidewalk takes us along it, offering splendid views at several places. With hindsight, this is perhaps more of an Eco-cache than an Earthcache but I do not mind as in any event it offers a terrific experience. This alone is definitely worth coming to Fraser Island.
