Find Number 2113 found at 14:20. Today we had 4 finds and 0 DNFs. This was the 4th find of the day.
I've been working towards my son's 50 forgotten years challenge and the other day I spotted 4 caches around Forest Road with 10 months or more unfound time. Today I set out to try to find all four.
The GeoPrius isn't a great car for dirt road travel, but a cautious drive gou me to within a couple of hundred metres of GZ. A short walk led to a quick and easy find, thanks to the hint.
The cache was in good condition. We signed the log and replaced the container as found
Thanks RiverRuners for the cache.

We did few cache in the Currambene State Forest on that morning. At GZ it was easy to find it, but the worth was the track to get to GZ. Some parts were muddy and gave us a lot of fun.

Back out along the trails to find a few more. Not to wet nor too many obstacles in the way, except those blasted mosquitoes. TNLNSL TFTC
Found with Muppet95 on a trip to Currambene State Forest, Orient Point, Culburra and Greenwell Point for a day of caching. TFTC
Another day clearing out a chunk on the map. Today we hit the Currambene State Forest, Crookhaven, Orient Point, Culburra, Mayfield, Greenwell Point and Worrigee, before heading to Wollongong for dinner and the new caches near Lake Illawarra. It was unreal - 30 finds in 6.5hrs, with 0 DNF's - an awesome effort to clear a significant section of the map! Thanks to the Cache Owners for maintaining the caches that I visited today.
As one of the last ones for this trail, I was feeling more risky and managed to drive to within 50m of this one. This made for a quick find. TFTC

The track down to this one get a bit too bumpy for Sue, so it was up to Dan as he bounced his mountain bike down the trail. Fortunately, he didn't fall off his bike, and soon found the cache. He replaced the torn snaplock bag. TFTC
I found this cache as a joint part of “Team” Throsbyonchurch and in which name the log book was signed. I now have my own account as I’m old enough to cache myself, so I am claiming a fair share of my earlier finds. As I had no caching name at the time there's no log in the book for me but I’m claiming the find under team ToC. Thank you for the hide.

The weekend had arrived so fitzy_1965 and I decided to head off on a coastal geomission to nab a whole bunch of caches-the drawcard being going for the wander to nab the Abrahams Bosom Reserve series and whatever else we could grab!
Well this one should have been named "The Bog" for us The track was a little rough for the 2WD so we needed to turn round-ooopppps! One of the back tyres became bogged in the soft earth. Tried a couple of things and then deployed the jack with some sticks for traction-worked a treat! Fitzy got us in, I got us out![:o)] Found the cache though!
Thanks for the hide, RiverRuners

11081. Found during a weekend run down to the coast with specimenX.
I have been planning on doing a coast run for a while, and in particular the "Abrahams Bosom" Reserve looked like a fantastic walk waiting to be done. So with a plan hatched with specimenX we headed off early this morning down the Kings Hwy and Nerriga Rd towards Jervis Bay. This was the next stop for the day. I also thought it would be 'fun' to try for these 10 caches as well. Driving down this road I decided it was a bit too wet ahead and didn't want to risk getting bogged. So I turned around. At least I tried to ! One back tyre sitting on sand refused to grip and we weren't going anywhere ! Oops ! And so a classic case of getting out the jack, places heaps of sticks under the tyres, and after a few attempts we managed to get back on 'safe' gound. An epic cache to remember for all the wrong reasons ! Lol. Oh - and we also found the cache ! A quick search at GZ and we came up with the find ! Log signed, cache returned, and we were off to the next one very happy were weren't camping there for the night !
Thanks again RiverRuners !!

Found at 1:03 PM GAFF1 in the company of DiMorgan.
Last of the CSF for us - we left a couple behind due to a mistake that I made with the distance when loading the caches onto my GPSr. When we got out of the car to look for this one it started raining, so just as well it was the last. These tracks probably get really sticky in the wet.
Thanks RiverRuners.

We're on the third day of our stay. It's going to be really hot today. The GeoSchnauzers and I are loaded for geocaches. Car, GPSr and sundry kit, ice water, and a sense of fun and adventure. It's going to be a park and grab day today, at least until the sea breeze kicks in.
We're picking up a couple on the way up to Jervis Bay, then the CSF series, then Callala Beach.
Thanks, RiverRuners. More nice driving fun. The dogs have declined to get out of the car. Does that make them smarter than me? Hope not.

Well that was certainly interesting in the Geowifes pajero with highway tires fitted as the swamp lived up to its name. Has convinced me that maybe I should trade the GeoHSV for a patrol. Log signed TFTC
Justjessie and I were spending the weekend in the area caching and this series looked like fun. managed a clean sweep of them. TFTC.
Ironbarks 4WD came in very handy today.
I wouldn't have attempted this in a 2WD after the rain.
Thanks for the cache RiverRunners.

Found on a trip to Nowra and surrounds with Steeba and The Rats. When The Rats suggested a day trip to the area, none of us could say no, there are quite a few caches that have popped up around here of late. We had a great day driving around collecting some fantastic caches.
A nice quick find down here, turning the car around proved more difficult!
Cheers

I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate 15 years caching than with a few friends enjoying the game I love. Today I headed south with steeba and Hoojar as we endeavoured to find some caches in the Nowra district.
We had a lot of fun in this area except for the masses of mosquitos that seemed to try and carry us away at each location.
Thanks

We managed to find all in this series over an hour or so and were able to drive where we needed to with a 2WD. Thanks for the series.

Having been altogether too long since I last found a cache, and finally with some free time and no other plans, I managed to entice the teenage team members into the Urban Assault Vehicle, and we headed off to the Forest. With the recent rain and some local knowledge, I knew we would have a little fun while on the hunt. A quick find after arriving at GZ. Thanks RiverRuners for the cache

Great cache again thanks! Found all 10 in this series today! What a great day out!
I’m not sure what made me decide to come in here today… I think I was bored of all the urban trash, and decided on an adventure in the bush! Well, an adventure I got alright! After all that rain last night, and recently – this whole place was a quagmire! My poor little SUV didn’t know what hit it! No chunky tires, and more mud than you could poke a stick at meant that I was going sideways more often than forwardways! Even the slightest incline was very dramatic! On many occasions it was just too dire, and I had to try to find another way! I got totally lost in that place! Oh, and the trail bike riders screaming about like lunatics did not help! But – in the end, I managed to get all but one of them! (By that stage my nerves were shot, and I just wanted out of there)! – You should have heard my shout of glee once I found bitumen again! Now I just need to remove 200+ kg of mud from the car! Thanks for the adventure RR - Currambene State Forest caches will not be forgotten quickly – not like the urban ones I found this morning, that I have already forgotten!
Did someone say "swamp" - this whole place is a swamp!

Finally the time to complete this series after last times disaster. Again the car in service, so this time I took the mountainbike for a ride. Great terrain for the bike, especially after the rain. I doubt any 2WD would have gotten through today! Even a 4WD wouls struggle on the slippery mud.

heh took to the wrong road to this, was within 500 metres of the cache, but not getting any closer until the track i was on finally linked up with the track i should have been on. fun afternoon drive. thanks
Hmmm.. The Swamp?.. maybe that's why it's so muddy. Not sure if this was the one, but there are a couple of tracks that are waterlogged, and I backtracked to the main firetrail.
Cycled to most of the series with family. Fun finds, great bush sounds and smells, challenging, tracks (for those not so fit) and persistent mozzies that ignored all protection.
Even found another cachers!! Not surprising as it was a great collection of caches that made us discover a little more of our backyard.
Thanks RiverRuner

Seen these pop up and this was the first time we were able to grab these, lucky we were able to do the lot with the geo vehicle, as I had recently had knee surgery, the car is not 4WD but has good clearance which came in very handy.
There were couple of hairy moments but Mr J had full confidence of the cars ability. ( I heard it all before, now I have great hairs)
We seen lots of Butterflies, picked up a red tailed black Cockatoo tail feather, mozzies and sounds of many birds, wallabies jumping around, a regular safari. What an eventful afternoon. TFTC

Came down to check out this new series on a blank calendar day. Didn't manage to grab any FTFs but still had a great time in the GeoForester. Wasn't sure how I'd go but in the end I found all 10 in the series and the trig, and made it back home despite torrential rain and hail going back up the mountain. Third of the day, quite a lovely spot despite the mozzies. Some huge old fallen trees here. 2TF again - TFTC!

Venturing home on the MTB after work down the usual trails. Surprised and happy to see some new caches pop up on my gps. Also passed a wandering cacher in their small 4WD (had a GC sticker on the back). Don't usually stop to scrummage around in the scrub so never noticed how bad the mozzies are here!!! Had a fun time anyway. Many thanks for this series of caches RiverRuners
