Find Number 2120 found at 13:57. Today we had 2 finds and 0 DNFs. This was the 1st find of the day.
I've been working towards my son's 50 forgotten years challenge and the other day I spotted 2 caches in the Currumbene State Forest with 6 months or more unfound time. Today I set out to try to find them both and get the souvenir as well.
I tackled this from Butterfly Road and East Stump Road as Pipeline Road was closed last time I was here. The new GeoRAV4 behaved itself nicely on East Stump Road but the last 100 metres or so were impassable, at least for someone with my limited skill. I found somewhere to pull off the road and bush-bashed to GZ. Coordinates were spot on and I had no difficulty making the find.
The cache was in good condition. We took nothing, left nothing, signed the log and replaced the container as found
Thanks RiverRuners for the cache.

We did few cache in the Currambene State Forest on that morning. At GZ it was easy to find it, but the worth was the track to get to GZ. Some parts were muddy and gave us a lot of fun.

Found with Muppet95 on a trip to Currambene State Forest, Orient Point, Culburra and Greenwell Point for a day of caching. TFTC
Another day clearing out a chunk on the map. Today we hit the Currambene State Forest, Crookhaven, Orient Point, Culburra, Mayfield, Greenwell Point and Worrigee, before heading to Wollongong for dinner and the new caches near Lake Illawarra. It was unreal - 30 finds in 6.5hrs, with 0 DNF's - an awesome effort to clear a significant section of the map! Thanks to the Cache Owners for maintaining the caches that I visited today.
I managed to drive to this one to make it a nice park and grab. TFTC

We continued our cycle trip up to this one and despite our pedantic etrex we soon found the cache. This made 9 out of 10 in this group. Dan is still crying over that one DNF. TFTC and all that fun exercise.
T4tc. My first find for the day. Tje bag the log was in wont seal properley. Dont have a replacment with me.
We are really enjoying yet another area of our home turf that we hadn't seen. Cache in good condition. TFTC JenneG and Budgy
Found with Kagers17 and Larrykin1, logging under my own username, back dating logs
Found with Kagers17. however I have only just created my own username. I am starting to log old finds
Found it -- SL TNLN TFTH. Cache in good condition. Attending an International Geocaching Day event today and as I had time afterwards, “Yay,” I figured I should return this afternoon to complete a find on the remaining four caches in this series that I had not found a few weeks ago due to a time constraint. We were about to find our 600th cache so what better time than now to knock two birds off their perches with the one stone. . . complete this series and complete 600. Finding this cache was easy enough and the dirt road wasn't too bad, so far, in our 2WD. Signed log and quickly moved onto our next cache find. Thanks for the cache.
I found this cache as a joint part of “Team” Throsbyonchurch and in which name the log book was signed. I now have my own account as I’m old enough to cache myself, so I am claiming a fair share of my earlier finds. As I had no caching name at the time there's no log in the book for me but I’m claiming the find under team ToC. Thank you for the hide.
In the little car today and by now I am wondering is this a mistake
A fun day.

Continuing on from The Trig we ventured further into uncharted territory. Found the cache easily enough. So far so good.
Found at 12:27 PM GAFF5 in the company of DiMorgan at a distance of about 8 metres.
We didn't have all of these tracks on our maps, but with some good guesses we made it right to GZ.
Thanks RiverRuners.

We're on the third day of our stay. It's going to be really hot today. The GeoSchnauzers and I are loaded for geocaches. Car, GPSr and sundry kit, ice water, and a sense of fun and adventure. It's going to be a park and grab day today, at least until the sea breeze kicks in.
We're picking up a couple on the way up to Jervis Bay, then the CSF series, then Callala Beach.
Thanks, RiverRuners. Last one. Having fun dodging ruts. Thanks for the series.

Justjessie and I were spending the weekend in the area caching and this series looked like fun. managed a clean sweep of them. TFTC.
Dive weekend at Jarvis Bay and Bawley Point October 2015. After a great morning diving at Bawley point it was time to head to near Huskisson for tomorrows diving on Jarvis Bay. I managed three before calling it a night. I found this one while scoping out somewhere to stay the night. Plenty of good spots in this forest.
Thanks.

Ironbarks 4WD came in very handy today.
I wouldn't have attempted this in a 2WD after the rain.
Thanks for the cache RiverRunners.

Couldn't find this one. Lots of new trees cut down not sure if the log is covered in debris or I'm just not looking hard enough. Lots of logs.
Found on a trip to Nowra and surrounds with Steeba and The Rats. When The Rats suggested a day trip to the area, none of us could say no, there are quite a few caches that have popped up around here of late. We had a great day driving around collecting some fantastic caches.
There were a number of fallen trees in the area, but eventually a find was made.
Cheers

I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate 15 years caching than with a few friends enjoying the game I love. Today I headed south with steeba and Hoojar as we endeavoured to find some caches in the Nowra district.
We had a lot of fun in this area except for the masses of mosquitos that seemed to try and carry us away at each location.
Thanks

Having been altogether too long since I last found a cache, and finally with some free time and no other plans, I managed to entice the teenage team members into the Urban Assault Vehicle, and we headed off to the Forest. With the recent rain and some local knowledge, I knew we would have a little fun while on the hunt. Another quick find in the series, after some fun in the mud getting here. Thanks RiverRuners for the cache

At last having an attempt at these caches. Son is driving his new four wheel drive!!! TFTC
I’m not sure what made me decide to come in here today… I think I was bored of all the urban trash, and decided on an adventure in the bush! Well, an adventure I got alright! After all that rain last night, and recently – this whole place was a quagmire! My poor little SUV didn’t know what hit it! No chunky tires, and more mud than you could poke a stick at meant that I was going sideways more often than forwardways! Even the slightest incline was very dramatic! On many occasions it was just too dire, and I had to try to find another way! I got totally lost in that place! Oh, and the trail bike riders screaming about like lunatics did not help! But – in the end, I managed to get all but one of them! (By that stage my nerves were shot, and I just wanted out of there)! – You should have heard my shout of glee once I found bitumen again! Now I just need to remove 200+ kg of mud from the car! Thanks for the adventure RR - Currambene State Forest caches will not be forgotten quickly – not like the urban ones I found this morning, that I have already forgotten!
Those huge horseflies were menacing! But luckily I was covered in fly spray!

#3 - Bush bashed unnecessarily ... again ... perfectly good track to use, but found easily and seen from a few mtrs away. SL TFTC RiverRuners
A bit more challenging to get to for two reasons. Firstly the track were getting a bit more technical, but dry not a problem with my 2WD, secondly the roads on my map were not matching the ones in real life?, so it turned a bit into a search and a few narrrow turns on dirttracks.

Wow, what a great spot to explore! I started here at Chestnut, thinking "this will be a breeze", but the roads deteriorated after this!
TFTC RiverRuners, I've never explored out here before!

Cycled to most of the series with family. Fun finds, great bush sounds and smells, challenging, tracks (for those not so fit) and persistent mozzies that ignored all protection.
Even found another cachers!! Not surprising as it was a great collection of caches that made us discover a little more of our backyard.
Thanks RiverRuner

Seen these pop up and this was the first time we were able to grab these, lucky we were able to do the lot with the geo vehicle, as I had recently had knee surgery, the car is not 4WD but has good clearance which came in very handy.
There were couple of hairy moments but Mr J had full conference of the cars ability. ( I heard it all before, now I have great hairs)
We seen lots of Butterflies, picked up a red tailed black Cockatoo tail feather, mozzies and sounds of many birds, wallabies jumping around, a regular safari. What an eventful afternoon. TFTC

Butterfly Rd wasn't kind to me as it ends in a gate so spent most of my time on rough 4WD tracks. Whatever this one was it had piles of dirt as though someone was going to fix it. Eventually got to another track & started the search taking my usual time to find it. Then out via a track that had long pieces of rubber across it, presumably to slow the water down. I tell you I was lost - some of these tracks were eroded severely with long sections of muddy holes. Pleased I had 4WD. Having a great time, thanks.
In a bit of a rush now, with the deadline for getting home and meeting the kids' schoolbus looming. I could have parked a bit closer to this one but it was an easy enough find. This is a great series and a perfect area for exploring via caching. I haven't seen anyone else out here but there's two earlier logs from today and the FTF from yesterday, making me 4TF this time. Find #8 for today - TFTC!
