The nearby muffler has been riddled with bullet holes.
Question?
Is shooting a muffler a quiet or noisy process?
Only the shooter knows the answer. Is it like trees falling in the forest when nobody is around? Does it make a sound?
The hide was a little harder to find as there were no hides positions matching the hint. Sometimes this game can be so hard. The bananas relentlessly searched everywhere.
And what did you know?
Within a moment the treasure was found. Luckily, it is made to be found.
And
The appropriate hint was found right next to it. On the ground.
Once recorded and returned the maintenance was carried out and left in pristine condition. Just like the good old days.
And about those riddles at the start.
We won't be looking for the guys or gal's who know the answer.
Why not?
Seriously. They have got a gun.
And guns trump smooth talking inquisitive bananas.

The gate at the end of the track was locked this morning !! [:o]
And I would have walked in to find the cache,
except for the Road Works signs adorning the gate,
and the fresh dozer tracks
So I though it best I stay out

Last year I wrote a note about this cache (see 19/1/2018 below) and vowed to come back here on my third annual family holiday at the nearby Eildon Riverside Holiday Park (aka Bluegums) in Jan 2019.
So here I finally am on a total fire ban day with a forecast top of 42 but got out in the morning before the heat really took hold. Brought Ceba the wonder dog for company (as it's state forest on this side of Eildon-Jamison Rd) as the usual geokids were too buggered from the heat of the previous day. Temperature was about 32C at this point but was a fairly nice walk due to the good forest canopy providing dappled shade the whole way. Watch out for the march flies (which I first met on my "Avro" walk not far back down the road last year), and be prepared for footwear and socks to be covered in bindis - the big ones.
After an approx. 1.3km walk we came to the clearing and within a minute or so the well preserved cache was in hand in good condition. Last found in June 2018 by team Red Killa who I've seen on several other cache logs in the Eildon area.
So finally I can say I've found this cache. Next one on my wish list for another day (geodog is pooped for today) is at the summit of nearby Mt Torbreck. TFTC Clever Monkey. Twiggy&Co(and dog).

It's the last day of our second annual family holiday in Eildon and the sun is starting to sting on another hot summer's day so what better to do than jump in the air conditioned geocruiser with the geokids and find some more caches. We did part of the Eildon-Jamison Rd run up to Jim tk a little under a week ago and in the meantime I did the walk in to the Avro Anson Memorial crash site for another three caches. We headed back up Eildon-Jamison Rd to find numbers #21-#28.
After success re above and seeing as we were in the area I thought we'd deviate up Barnes Plains Rd. After I did the Avro walk I drove past the Barnes Plains Spur Track and later recognised it as the probable location of the Dead End cache. We got there and peered down as far as we could see. We edged the geocruiser slowly along but after having to get out twice to saw off some overgrown branches we realised it was too difficult and reversed the 75mtrs or so we had travelled. It was then my daughter read the previous post about vehicle access!
So this cache is now on my list to come back to during next year's annual vacation here. Next time I'll walk in!

Having visited the nearby Avro Anson Memorial and found the cache located there, I turned my attention to this cache...my other objective while in the area. From the Memorial Track parking I continued along Barnewall Plains Road...carefully...it was passable in a car but there were places where you needed to be careful. I arrived at the junction with Barnewall Spur Road and looked down it...not suited to a car by the look of it.
As it was going to be either a 1.2km walk or a DNF, it was out of the car and start walking. I hadn't gone very far when it became obvious that even with a 4WD it would still be a walk...even if you went around the rock supposedly blocking the track, you wouldn't have got much further without a lot of chain sawing. After a pleasant stroll I arrived at the "dead end".
Hunting for the cache took a while...over 2 years since the previous visit meant that all sorts of possibilities need extra poking and prodding...eventually I did find it close to where my GPS was pointing...just not hidden quite as I expected so I had spent a lot of time looking in the wrong sort of places. Given the length of time it has been since the last visit, the cache was in very good condition.
Thanks Clever Monkey for this cache...and excuse for a walk in the bush.

After finding a couple of caches in Rubicon yesterday, manzie and I thought we'd head out out for a bit of 4wding in the other direction today. We parked at the junction of the roads and walked the 1.25km in as the track looked a little overgrown and manzie didn't want the paintwork on his new car getting scratched. Fair enough, it was a lovely day for a walk anyway. Turns out we probably could have driven the whole way—the track wasn't as bad as it first appeared. Found the cache after a short search and headed back to the car for the next phase of the adventure. TFTC!
Today we explored Eildon Lake and surrounds using geocaching as a guide.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
