We had found all the caches that we had set for ourselves today and found that we had plenty of daylight up our sleeves. OK time to check out the map and we noticed this small cluster of caches so off we went.
We found a suitable parking area and a pathway heading in the direction of the caches. The first cache we attempted was good, the next - Lake Connewarre 4, does need some attention We found a long 30cm clear container that is painted black, the lid is missing, we placed a card into it with our name on it. So sorry we had nothing with us to fix this cache. The next that was on the way was Lake Connewarre 5 it is also in good condition.
We saw many many swans a few other water birds, no snakes were seen and, also, no noises in the grass. The smell from the lake was yuk, we wondered if this is seasonal or is it a continual smell. After doing more caches around the lake where there is no smell it must just be this little corner.

A quick little find here in an interesting container. Time to make the gentle stroll back to the car. Thanks for breaking up my lazy weekend with some local caches ️
Marshall’s Geelong found this cache today,
Have now competed the series. Was really worried about snakes for this one! Didn’t see any about!
Thanks deshut for taking us to the lake on such a lovely day.

Found by Mary and David at 1555. Lovely to see black swans out on the lake. A pleasant strol, still listening to the sound of the waves. Found ok after a brief search. Our thanks to deshut.
Find #3658. Found @ 14:40 with The Good Lady Wife, skirrel and j-bean.
We're in Portarlington on a getaway, and getting in some caching is a part of that plan. We had to go on a purchasing mission to Leopold to get a more suitable pillow for TGLW, and as has been the case after our morning mission, an afternoon plan of grabbing a few caches as a family has been put into action.
Walking along the shore was an interesting experience, but the word interesting does not convey the added attribute of mud that was an integral part of the interesting experience. I arrived at GZ after the rest of my troop, as they tend to head off to the next one once I have hand to cache, which gives them a head start while I get the log out, sign, and replace. Never-the-less, I still often get the cache find before they do. This was the case here, when they were searching around all over, and I just picked it up.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache deshut

Had to do maintenance on this one, the lid was broken. So I have used a new container, which is tricky, because it is hard to find the actual log. No trades now.
A nice day for a walk at the lake. Its been some time since my last visit here. Not much activity happening today otjer tjan a few muggles. T could be a lot higher here, very slippery and no sand to walk on at all. Vache needs some major TLC. Lid broken, log book stuck together. Signed and replaced as found
Thanks for the cache and series deshut

With a souvenir on offer today I had to make sure I grabbed a cache sometime during the day. But the day was going to involve Multiple children pick ups and in opposite directions. So the plan was to roll one of the pick up into the cache find as well. With one pick up in Leopold this little series was my target. A call to Neville_devil and he too was also in.
With time being a factor we used the hints on all caches to make for nice quick finds.
Thank you deshut for the little series

Decided to have a wander around the edge of Lake Connewarre today. Easy first find to the sound of swans honking amongst themselves (I didn't actually realise swans honked, evidently they do).
Container has seen better days, log is a mite soggy but still serviceable.

Came to Leopold today to finish my 3rd loop and to get a few more smileys. Nice place. Cigc. Tftc
Today Freckle_ headed off to the lake to have another try at some finds. It was a successful trip and all were found, gum boots on but only near lost them in the swamp twice, saw some pretty swans, the sun was shining and was blessed by some beautiful views I walked past this cache multiple times thinking it was rubbish, boy was I a fool! TFTC
Once again we found the container wet on the inside as well as the outside! SL at 3.57pm Mrs Harrowang took a tumble here after tripping on some of the vegetation. No injuries except for her dented dignity! #4504 TFTC deshut and the walk alongside this peaceful water feature.
Taking the family out Geocaching today in exchange for going to the beach after lunch. Apart from the hungry mozzies this was a nice place. Interesting stuff on the sand at the waters edge too. Felt a bit like scrunched up carpet under your feet. This one was an easy find, TFTC.
17/12/2016 2:44:00 PM - The weather forecast for today was good and suggested ideal conditions to go exploring. That's if you like strong winds, cold chills and a speckle of rain in between sunny spells. I think we had every season and today I teamed up with Square_Pegs for a bit of caching and along the way I stopped here to find this cache with fairly decent co-ords.
Thanks deshut for the adventure.

A fun day was to be had heading down to Geelong and on to the Bellarine Peninsula with abl973. We seemed to experience different seasons in one day with beaming sunshine at times, overcast cloudy conditions at others, not to mention gusty winds and slight drizzle. There was a great variety of hides and some excellent locations. A zesty container here.
Thanks to deshut for the cache.

I thought l had done an owner maintenance log but it doesn't show up.
The floods recently disposed of this cache, so l replaced it. The description is correct.

And on the Seventh day of my geocaching holiday I reached 7000 finds! I thought today would have ben a bit more relaxing, but since I had ran out of power trail caches (only 14 of them today) I had to travel around a fair bit. Inverleigh, Teesdale, Bannockburn, Lake Conneware and the last bit of the G2Q trail to find the last 62 caches.
And the big buld up to my milestone find was a let down as I found out from a recent log that the cache was missing! So I had to make another descision on what cache it would be.
In the end I had time on my bike and lots of airconditioned car driving to make the trip easier.
Thanks for all the caches!

4 finds, 3 DNFs for me today on this series.
This was the first find, and it really messed with my OCD. I walked to the one end to start with 001 and do them in sequence, and was followed by the 5 . Fortunately an easy find here.
Thanks, deshut.

Lol after a dnf at the first cache l tried this one but l should have driven down the other road to get to this one as l was in mud up to my knees very quickly so l ended up doing all the this cache in my muddy socks lol but still able to claim the smiley

We took advantage of the break in the weather to add a few more caches to our list of finds.
This end of the adventure was much easier at high tide, with a nice grassed path to walk along. Gave the boots a chance to dry out before making the trek back to the car!
Turns out our definition of 'big bush' was slightly different initially, but after checking the coordinates again we were on the right track.
Cache quickly found, log signed and replaced with some camo- as the last logged entry was a 'found by accident'.
Sadly, no TB in here as listed.

Found with NikLibSteph during a break in the recent blustery weather.
The hide tide didn't hold us back and we were on our way.

Great series, the kids and I have a great wander and chat completing it. Thank you again for another great series.
It had rained overnight and was still lightly raining when I came here to do this series of 7 caches on the shore.
The edges of the lake were really slippery and muddy but I persevered and found all 7 caches.
A great size and time to return to the car
Thanks

I had a small window of free time available this afternoon and had had this little series on the radar for a while so I decided today was the day. A nice series with a range of different types of hides and an enjoyable walk even though you had to be a bit mindful as to your footing. Plenty of birdlife out on the lake including plenty of black swans. Thanks for the series deshut.
All in good condition here today. Enjoyed seeing a fair bit of birdlife on the way to this one. TFTC
Headed down to Queenscliff with our bikes to complete a small section of the G2Q Bellarine Rail Trail.
We grabbed a few of the Lake Coonewarre caches on our way home to Melbourne.

The tide was out so it made for a relative easy walk to this cache. Thanks for placing this cache.
Moving Day, headed to Geelong where we are camped at the showgrounds.
After a lunch break we headed out to start on the GTQ Trail. Hubby took his bike while I walked my section. A variety of caches found in all sorts of locations.

Great hide! The treasure stash at the end of the muddy trek.
And did anybody else notice all the silverbeet growing in the area?

After a DNF on the previous cache, I was eager for a smiley face here. Luckily I had the foresight to bring along a pair of waders today. While the tide was out, the terrain was terrible. Not only that, but the black sludge would have wrecked any pair of shoes I would have worn. Slowly made my way to GZ, I just waded in ankle deep water. The surface there was a lot more stable than up on the shore. Eventually I had to move in to the sand/weeds to make the find, A quick find with a great sized cache container. TFTC deshut.
Thanks to deshut for the placement of these caches although I am compelled to ask why? I really did not enjoy this location. Apart from the smell and whatever was leaking into the lake that looked like dirty fuel there was no redeeming feature here. TFTC

Managed to find time to head down to Geelong for some caching fun this afternoon generally had a great time touring around. Many thanks to deshut for the effort and placement of this cache. TNLN SL
In Geelong today to get a few more smilies towards our next milestones with bogonghazy and Tess. The last one of the series for us. Boots and pants wet and smelly, I was glad to be heading back to the car. Found a toy for Tess along the way. Thanks deshut
With a Friday off before having to work the weekend, Sorceysal, Tess the geodog and I took the opportunity to head down to Geelong to cross off just a few of the multitude of caches placed here since my last visit.
It was back past the car for the next 3, and we were glad to find a drier higher option than the shoreline that was testing our boots.
At last I got one, and nice to see a god sized container again from you guys.
Thanks again deshut

A nice easy find after a pleasant walk along the lakeside sand. Lucky that I was here at low tide. Thanks to deshut for the hunt.
Why oh why didn't I read the cache notes first.. [xx(][xx(] Stupid me decided to drive to Mollers Lane to access caches 1 and 5. Got to a point where there was a "makeshift" fence erected. Couldn't go any further because I wasn't wearing a pair of waders !! The fence seems awfully close to the water here. Seems a bit dodgy to me, but I'm not city planner..... I will return and approach from the other way !!
