Reperio 07:12Day 3 of my little escapade down to Albury, and it was up early this morning to tackle some caches along Nail Can before the sunand the snakes were up. They have certainly improved the trails since I last lived here which is great to see. After waiting for a couple of muggle walkers to go by, this one was quickly snapped up.Gratias Thewins5As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
The youngest Ez boy wanted to do some MTB riding today so we decided to have a wander around Nail Can, a wander that turned into 6km and 6 caches later.
After a brief sit at the seat and a couple of snaps we decided to keep continuing on….uphill. Now this is fun.
After a brief search the cache was found no problems. The threat of rain was keeping people away, think we only saw 3 or 4 others.
Thanks for also taking over this cache from Khanman, TheWins! Cheers.

Log a little damp so hopefully turning cache around will solve the issue

Out visiting family from the UK and doing some caching with big brother Pprime. Today was our Nail Can Hill day. We had done some puzzle solving so had a few to collect although sadly a couple we could not crack. We had convinced the geomum to get up before the birds and drop us the other side of the hill with the plan being to come down Range Rd when we were done which leads us right to home. I am not a fan of up and very slow so we set off on the hike while still dark to get to the top then walked north to the Isolation cache where we started the hunt with the early morning light and then moved south and to the east.
Enjoying the walk along the ridge, spotted what looked like a great gnome home area and went up to it, just a matter of looking in all the wee spots and there he was. Said hello to the cute fella and popped him back in his home.
All in good order, log signed and replaced as found. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find!!

We are out today to find some caches in the Nail Can Hill the area with the geopooch. Bit warm and the pooch hid under the tree while we went gnome searching. Found it! Enjoyed the view together and off we went again. TFTC
Found 16:47 11/12/21 on a warmish day. Great views from up here. A great container. Thank you Thewins5 for the cache and bringing me to this location.
A beautiful sunny day and a walk with the boys and here we are again finding this little man! TFTC!
Enjoying a walk in the bush after work and grabbing a few caches along the way. Never starting to get the sweats happening now! Tftc
I had been notified that the gnome may not be in home (and may be a bit obvious). Found him up a tree rather than his rocky home (and definitely a spot where he could get spotted).
Replaced in his hole and hopefully he stays there - please be careful with any rocks when are moved.
Thanks

The start of a hike finding caches on a section of Nail Can that l needed to turn to yellow. Couldn't have picked a better day to take on this section of the hill. The wild flowers were out in force and there was green grass abound. Birds and bees were busy doing their thing. But something is missing. What could it be? Something tall dark and handsome perhaps? No such luck! I am talking about my partner, who let me log these caches under my single profile. But don't worry, l will drag him up this glorious range soon, because life is better when you are out and about caching with your partner. Please accept this as a generic log. There was no issues with the caches, bar one, and l contacted the CO's about the issue. So thanks to: zachboris, Thewins5, hamfamily, dani_bee and team mvb. To "P" from Thewins5, l got to meet 2 of your colleagues along the way. The only sad part of my journey is there was very little water flowing down the falls.
#4171 Had the blinkers on trying to find this one. At one stage we thought that maybe Don Burke had muggled it! But as we were leaving gz Mr BGF turned around one last time and spotted the cheeky Gnome. The little guy does love gumtrees! TFTC Thewins5.
Car in getting a service so what better way to spend the time than a bush walk and a few caches. TFTC Thewins5
Found while out on a walk with the family during lockdown COVID19 time. TFTC
Spent a delightful sunny afternoon on 'the Hill' mainly observing flowers and insects but decided to chase a couple of hides along the way (for International Geocaching Day, perhaps?). Funny how a few steps off the trail reveals yet more to see.
Stopped here for a snack and to compare notes with the Gnome. I told him I'd already had a top time, spotting alate (winged) coconut ants, the beautiful Ploughshare wattle, purple highlights of Hardenbergia - in several cases with early native bees (Trichocolletes) visiting, Grevilleas, Hovea, Guinea flowers, Early Nancies, Sundews ... the list goes on.
By the way, the song is now stuck in my head! But I did appreciate the trivia that Bob Brown was one of the co-authors.
Thanks khanman47 for yet another gnome on the range. And to Thewins5 for keeping the gnome fires burning (oh dear, sorry!!).

This was the last cache of the day for us on our first day out since we got back from Nepal, and we were quite puffed by now as we were only going on fumes before we even started up the hill.
So we rocked up to GZ (see what I did there......) and after a very short search, we uncovered the amusing cache, and signed our lives away.
Now, thankfully it is mostly downhill back to the car....yay.
Thanks for the cool cache.

The first time geocaching for while, the geo-dog and I headed up Nail Can Hill - the new local haunt. One of a few we planned to hit up on a delightful early spring day. Geo-dog was super handy in finding this one. Thanks for the hide!
Great gnome in the corks. tftc while we cycled around Albury instead of skiing today.
Continuing my walk in the area today and this was my next. Quick and easy and another cool container TFTC
Great little spot for a rest during a Saturday hike with the geopups. What a gorgeous little hide. Very neatly done. TFTC!
So happy to find this little guy amoung the gum trees. A lovely sit down while I write this log. All down hill from here
All quiet on the hill after the Nailcan run this morning. Out find a few more local caches with geodog Milo.
Down to Albury for a mere 48 hours, but managed to sneak out this afternoon for two of them. I'm an hour into the arvo leg stretch, but still happy on the trails (I am always happy in places like this). Lovely container, awesome spot.
Thanks for placing this cache, khanman47. Found in good condition.

Another gnome one! Should have started off earlier, it really warms up quickly. Was a bit worried about snakes again but saw none We in Finland celebrate Christmas eve more than Christmas day, so Merry Christmas and thank you for the cache! Was fitting that the cache was a gnome, reminds me of Santa's elves

2675 11 of 25 for day 5 of the Mega weekend with Tankengine & mtrax.
Day 5 of the Surfcoast Mega road-trip to Anglesea. This was the home stretch from Albury to Canberra. We spent about 1/2 a day caching in Albury before hitting the road at 14:30. Fortunately the weather was much improved over the previous day. Occasional showers held us up at times. We found some interesting spots, some that stand out include the old railway station with it's Victorian era covered platform as well as the 'wetlands'. The journey home was marred by occasional showers that seemed to coincide with our scheduled cache stops.
In in all a great road trip. Thanks to my company: mtrax & Tankengine for guiding me though my first Mega trip.
We can't come to Albury without visiting Nail Can Hill. We spent a good while here today grabbing a few caches.
TFTC khanman47.

Came down from Canberra with Mtrax and Strangetrousers (and half the other Canberra cachers it seems ) for the Anglesea mega event, and naturally did a whole lot of caches around here as well! Today, on our trip out, it was wet and rainy... But we still managed to find a fair few, and see some interesting places! Have now climbed the hill many times for caching - love it! Thanks KM47.
Called in to check on Gnome. Gave him a clean up and dried out. New logbook. Please make sure the container is placed right way up to lmprove weatherproofing.
Decided to go from the water tank near Range Road in a straight line to GZ. During our off-track walk we came across fields of Early Nancies, and some rather special orchids: white fingers, pink fingers and blue fingers. The cache was easily found, but it contained a lot of water: somehow it was hidden upside down.
Unable to write in the log book we replaced the plastic bag with a dry one and inserted a piece of dry paper with our log. TNLeft our trademark tumbled stone and a tb. Hid the cache the right way up! The way we came was definitely more interesting than following normal track, but we are the Murray Valley Bushwalkers.

Found with container full of water. Log book soaked. Needs drying out or replacement.
Out for a morning caching in Albury. Completed Nail Can, the CP river run and Wonga Wetlands. Nice cache container, glad I came up this steep slope early in the day, as the muggles were low as well as the temperature. TFTC.
At first I thought it would be in a gum tree but I was wrong! After looking around I found it pretty easily
Tough walk but any walk on Nail Can is always worth the effort. Geo-dog loved it too. Thanks khanman.
Second cache of the day on a day when I got 28 in a day.
I marched up the hill as the sun was rising. I needed the early start to give myself the best chance of reaching a mini challenge in a game where the challenges are extremely numerous. I like to challenge myself, and I really enjoyed this day. The weather was great and I had the best support from JLT and AG27. In fact AG27 leant me her car for the first part of the day.
Tks khanman47!

One of things I like to amuse myself whilst out caching is guessing where Gz is on approach, I checked the pointy box before climbing the hill and pulled it out for a look once I thought I was near GZ and found I was only 10mt out
Have ridden past many times but always too fast going the downhill way or concentrating on going up when riding.
Managed to avoid detection from passing muggle by staying quiet and still whilst they walked and rode up past me.
With log signed and cache nicely tucked away it was on to the further caches along the range.
TFTC, Cheers.

What a cute little fella, I'm sure he must have a great time out here among the gum trees. TFTC
The poodle finally broke the drought with the Samwyzer. Boogoose was forced to hold back and wait on the track. Good team poozelbear effort! Tftc. We have taken the trackable Z thong and will help it on its journey.
Well, I'm still alive at this point, although on one of those hills i thought my heart was going to beat itself out of my chest. So, again i was glad to have another excuse for a quick cache rest.
This one wasn't so obvious as i got closer to it. Thankfully, though, good coordinates made the find good and easy. Again, i found another cool container.

After grabbing the other further down the track we had to grab this one as well. We walked along the ridge until we were close to GZ. We waited while two cyclists struggling to get up the hill went past us, before Mrs V headed inwards to GZ. With great co-ords it didn't take long for the familiar cache to be found nicely hidden and in good conditions. Thanks for another fun cache.
Another Gnome on the Hill. Soon found the cache. Dropped off a trackable. Worth a favourite from me. TFTC khanman47
Another great container and a nice spot. Getting tired with NacSpaceman on our caching journey. Thanks, khanman47.
Sorry for my delayed and boring log but I REALLY need to catch up on old finds.
No#1 for the day.
Found on my roadtrip to Mega.
Appreciate you bringing me here and breaking up the drive.
Cheers & T.F.T.C!

Love it! I usually sing the Burkes Backyard version, and when I see a Gnome I sing that popular 90s song "If you don't Gnomie by now...". Nicely done and well hidden. Had a chat to a muggle bike rider about geocaching when I got back to the track. Swapped a my little pony figure for a set of earphones. Thanks for the cache.
Curly and I needed a good solid walking workout today so we decided that this one would be a great one to attack this morning.
We alighted our vehicle at the terminus of Range Rd. and proceeded our way up the track toward the Ridge Trail. It was warmer out then we expected as so it didn't take long before we had a sweat up in the climb up the ascent. While Curly was busy spraying every tree along the walk, he missed seeing the striking black wallaby that crossed the track just ahead of us...something I was grateful for as he would of likely dragged me into the scrub after it.
At the top of the trail we decided to enter the co-ords into the Etrex and pursue the cache from there. It was roughly a couple of hundred metres on from that location and after a steady trek upwards we soon reached GZ.
Curly retired to let me make the find, and after exploring a couple of probable spots the cheeky little devil was soon found.
SL at 11.30am. All good with the hide.
We enjoyed our journey out today to a site fairly familiar to us, and we appreciated the exercise and fresh air that ensued with our trip. We love these type of hides. TFTC khanman47.

Picked the wrong day for a walk up nail can only managed four finds to hot, Bit of huffing and puffing going to this one, the heat getting to me, another well hidden prize sat on the rock for awhile before going to the next. TFTC
[:(!] Went for a caching walk for several hours and this was one of them.

I've never been up to here but I'll be back for sure.
Thanks for the cache it was heaps of fun.
I enjoyed signing the log book sitting under the gum.

Quick find with geokids & pooches as a welcome shower of misty rain passes through. We love these bush hides. Thanks for bringing us back up here, gorgeous spot to wander after the 50+mm of rain we've had.
I rode the 29er to work this morning as was planning to go for a ride up nail can hill after work, this was just a bit more incentive to head up even though it was looking like a huge storm was brewing. .
I didn't have the Garmin with me today so I was relying on the HTC not so smart phone.
With rain on the screen is was hard to see how close I was to GZ, when I was approx 25 meters' away I ditched the Epic 29er & walked to GZ, the Coords are spot on, which made it a quick find just before the heavens opened up.
Thanks Tom for the neat cache and a reminder of a pretty cool tune.
