Trapper4ever was here this morning while on his way to Picton to catch his ferry tomorrow , homeward bound Northland.
Driving from Christchurch to Wellington today to attend the epic geocaching trip to Mana Island on Sunday. It would be silly to not grab a few random caches on the way up the island. A quick easy find. Have attached a photo of Loves hanging out in a cute wee play area near GZ.Thanks for the cache.
Walked to the beach from the tree houses and grabbed this one along the way. Easy find, thanks.
Not a bad day down here, sea is looking alright too, wonder if dad snuck away from work like he was talking of and went fishing out further South. Thanks for the placement.
TFTC bumandworker, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 5 find(s) of 6 today, making this find #4264

Having a milestone birthday this weekend, my aim was 50 caches. That was too much for one day so the 50 finds were spread over the celebratory weekend, 1/2 on my way South and 1/2 on my way North.
This was find number 45. An easy one too, sheltering from the fierce wind. I was certain that I should have been able to get from the nearby Marlborough rail one but not.

Found our way to GZ and after a short hunt had the cache in hand - log signed as SONO to save room thanks for the cache
Quick spotting but extracting took longer. It had a root wrapped about it. Great spot was a shame it was raining. TFTC
Parked up and had to check under the car as some odd noise from drying off road earlier. I suspect a long weed thing. By the time we were back in kaikoura the noise had gone away.
Interesting project here, felt eyes watching so drove up and waved then came back. All good here, cute log signed. Thanks for this cache bumandworker.
Well we thought we might be able to get to this cache from the previous one but we couldn't so came the long way round. No one around so a nice quick find and sign. tftc
Soon found but the tiny strip of log paper was sodden and unusable. Added a strip of waterproof paper. Thanks for bringing us here b&w.
After parking the snail shell up in Kaikoura it was time to visit all those caches I saw on the way south and couldn't stop at.
When I was at the railmcache earlier I thought there might be a direct way to this cache but alas no.
Cheers for the cache.

Exploring the backblocks. A few people around but such a lovely big area that there was no problem. Cache is all good. TFTC
Found while caching on the way to and around Kaikoura with Kiwimykl, refer to his log for details.

Found with NZDi. The weather in Blenheim was supposed to be unbearable today, so NZDi told me to prepare some targets in a cooler part of the country. Kaikoura was supposed to be 10 to 12 degrees cooler but not unbearably cold, so we headed that way for the day. I sorted out a couple of pocket queries for around Kaikoura and the route there and came up with 101 targets. We manage to get 23 (24 actually, I just discovered I didn't write a previous find down in my note book) of them plus five if you count the lab cache we got to. Not our best day out, but nothing to be sneezed at either. Some logs were dated and signed in full, but to preserve space most were dated and signed KM & ND.
This was our sixth find of the day and was another one of those QEF PnGs that you pick up for the numbers.

Out with spacenarwhale for an unplanned library visit, we decided to find a few caches on the way. This one was a fairly quick find (and an unexpected container) before a short beach walk on a day with quite a bit of surf.
Thank you for the cache.
Thank you for the cache.
Caching my way to Kaikoura today.
I replaced the cache for the CO. Unfortunately my only container left was embarrassingly on the small side of micro. It will do until his next foray to Kaikoura.

I am on a bit of a getaway this week. Having a domestic holiday and road trip in lieu of some international travel plans that were cancelled due to the strange time we find ourselves in. Today I am heading from Nelson to Kaikoura via Blenheim, finding a few caches along the way. I parked across the road and walked over to the cache. As per previous logger, the container is damaged. It's become very brittle and fragile. I managed to make my mark on the log and replaced as found. TFTC, Biggles.
#7758. I have a meeting in Blenheim next week so decided to add a few extra days to the trip and rent a car so I can pick up the Marlborough TMGT caches. So flew over early on Saturday morning and heading south today to do the Kaikoura section of the tour. Its a nice day but lots of fog and haze around. Finally approaching the Kaikoura area and pulled in here for the first of the TMGT caches in this region. Then carried on down the road to this one. Parked nearby and wandered over to the GZ for an instant find. No poos near the cache luckily. Signed the logbook and returned the cache as found. Thanks bumandworker for the cache.
#9 Today. Caching with Sidewaze on our way home after a family Christmas in Christchurch. Glad the loo is where it is! I think it is the first time I have come across an area that has had to be closed off because of human waste contamination. TFTC
Also noticed that a large area has been fenced off because of the undesirable behaviour of some freedom campers. They can be a bit of a mixed blessing.
Another nice quick find here with boneybruce while in the area for TMGT caches. TFTC!!!

* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Unbelievable number of freedom campers out here this weekend (many have stickers claiming that their vehicles are self-contained, when they clearly aren't - grrr...).
Thanks for this cache, b&w.

TCTC. A quick trip north to Kaikoura with KSI. Talked about for too long - now we are here enjoying the area.
Thanks for the cache.

All good here, coords were good. Could not write on the log so added some RITR. Quiet as well. TFTC Bum, good little spot around here, first time here for me.
Another Friday afternoon drive to ChCh for the weekend, I have a new vehicle to pick up and my niece’s 18th. A few caches found on the left hand side on the way down, as you do, before the darkness hit just north of ChCh. Maybe a few more tomorrow. Thanks to all COs.

Meanwhile this is my third geocaching-trip to Middle-Earth . And I love it! [:X]
Still there are routes and places in this beautiful country that are on the 'discover-me' list and want to be visited and explored. .
Starting from Kaikoura, this day (#21) was dedicated to drive up north to Blenheim along the beautiful, scenic route #1 at the coastline [^] - a new experience .
The weather was again blessed with blue skies
Was happy to visit quite a few geo-treasures that seamed the route - just like this one:
A cache with the best waves on the planet!
The log is very dump and almost full .
Thanks to the owner [:X] for placing and maintaining this cache and best regards from Germany!

I was up at the top of the South Island competing in the South Island Orienteering Champs. This gave me some time to grab some caches on the way there and back. It was great fun to explore a new part of the coutntry.

We came along here to check out potential camping areas and when we looked at the number of campers along here we decided that at this time of the year it is not somewhere we would choose to be. We went for a walk to find another cache that is nearby and as we were returning I read the cache page for this one. That is when we realised we might be able to get it even though there were people camping nearby. Sure enough that is exactly what happened.
Thank you for placing the cache here and thank you for the smiley

I stopped looking at my GPSr too early and went to where I thought the cache would be. Found what looks like a homeless camp! Then chocochunk called out he'd found the cache. Oops.
Quick find with Mporokosa. My turn to find first while Mporokosa was admiring a little camp-site and smouldering fire over the road. TFTC
I have taken my son and his girlfriend to Kaikoura for a few days. Their mission is My Fyffe. My mission is geocaching a bit of a walk but nothing as strenuous as My Fyffe.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au

Lots of campers here this morning, Most still asleep. Had a friendly doggo help me look for the cache. TFTC
Came to Kaikoura for the weekend to watch some squash and have a few refreshments. Today is finals day but I'm heading back early - time for a handful of finds before hitting the road.
Checking this place out for future caravan stopovers... seems to have the potential...but could be very busy on a nice day. Only a couple of vehicles around - so an easy find for me.

Visiting New Zealand for three weeks. After hanging around Auckland for a few days it was time to head south! Early morning flight to Nelson, a walk in Abel Tasman National Park with camping in Torrent Bay, then back to Marahau and a ride to Kaikoura. A short ride to Christchurch, then two rainy days in Dunedin and Invercargill, before beautiful hiking in Queenstown, Wanaka and Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park. West Coast was tricky as expected but not too wet, then a rush to Picton to explore the North Island for a few days.

This was the last cache of the day after we settled here for the night. Beautiful spot and fun to watch all the surfers. TFTC
#15339. A nice location (good views) that is certainly popular with freedom campers. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker as we head home from Blenheim to Christchurch after an enjoyable long weekend.
We made the detour to this cache, thinking we could go back to SH1 via the Marlborough rail, only to find that we couldn't and had to return the way we came. A busy spot here with lots of camper vans. TFTC.

Finally made it to Kaikoura after being delayed by an enforced overnight at Parnassus due to a recent slip closing the road just north of Parnassus. After checking in at Donegal House's caravan park it was time to begin some geocaching. This was the first stop as we headed north to check out the surfing spots and geocaches north of Kaikoura. Nice surf today. TFTC.
Kaikoura
What an experience it has been caching in Kaikoura, every way you turned it was either mountain or sea scenery. We learnt so much abour the earthquake you had here last year,

Spent 3 nights for Waitangi weekend camping close by. Beautiful weather, no swell. Tftc
Stayed the night in Kaikoura to help then out. Went to see how far up the road we could go. You can go about 2km past the surfers beach
On way tocatch ferrybut onwrong day so finding a few caches on way. Had the area to myself so I could enjoy the natural beuty of the area. Dipping tb's
An interesting back road with so much to hear (the sea) and to see!!! Found quickly and just parked in the middle of the road!!! Thanks.
Grabbed this one while taking a wee tour around the area. Managed to find it quickly, it's in good order. Tftc.
It's my birthday this weekend, so TaybeeDragon decides to celebrate with a caching trip. We left work lunchtime Friday, and although this is the first cache we found, we still didn't make it to Kaikoura. Although I only claimed 5 caches today, we kept passing caches TaybeeDragon hadn't yet found, so we kept stopping.
Which brings us here. Turned Zara around, narrowly missing the sky antenna in the trees. Not that we ever watch TV anyway. The sign mentioned in the cache description has gone. Or was hidden somewhere we weren't. The cache was an easy find, however.

Its the Seagnoids Birthday this weekend so Zara, the Seagnoid & I are off discovering Kaikoura. We get an early start with the Seagnoid getting off work early at lunch time. Late notice means we are not quite ready, so its shopping before we hit the road south. Thankfully the rain has stopped. Great trip down and we start caching around Hapuku.
Zara did us proud getting here. Great place to visit or stay awhile right by the sea. Cheers

A short detour with Kiwi Grandad on our way down to Kaikoura today. Blowing it's ______ off here today so fortunately a quick find and we could jump back in the warm car.
Thanks bumandworker for the cache.

After an impromptu night stay in Kaikoura, I spent today finding as many caches as I could and doing a bit of exploring, before continuing on to Christchurch. I used coords from W.E.K.A.'s log... and I can only assume the sign being referred to is no longer there, as all I could see on the tree at the cache, was a lonely bolt... TFTC (3055)
Went on a big adventure with Wafflekitties and geo pups, had a blast thanks for the memories! TFTC.
Found while on holiday in the South Island with LCBuilder and our two geodogs. We spent 3 weeks travelling down the east coast and then up the west coast, moving to a different campsite each night. We got a few geocaches along our way; our best day was 41 and our worst was 6 we saw a lot of awesome sights and will definitely have to come back one day! TFTC!
With a few more days of holidays left we decided to head south again and find some caches we didn't have time to look for last week, plus some more off the beaten track. This was one of 51 found today.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.
Thank you to all CO's who made this possible.
Our recent multi day Canterbury cache raid was so successful we decided to have another one before the holidays finished. Again we got stabbed, prodded, pricked and scraped by the variety of hedges the region is so famous for. And of course we can now hold our breath a lot longer. A skill well worth developing to avoid breathing in part of the road surface every time a vehicle passes. Just over 200 finds were logged this time and a great time was had finding the caches with a variety of shapes, sizes and placements. A big thank you to all COs who made this possible.
We were surprised at how many campers were parked up along the road to GZ. Luckily there was a good block between my hunt and the camper across the road!! Cheers.
ANZAC weekend time for a wee road trip. Saturday to Nelson.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

A beautiful autumn day, lot's of surfer's in the water and time for a coffee! No-one near gz so a QEF. Thanks B&W
This morning we went out to swim with the dolphins, that was so cool. Going back to our cottage we felt like walking a bit and find the cache nearby: Hapuka Surf. We could not grab it because two campers had made this place their temperary property and even placed lines so bypassers were not supposed to cross the "border". So we went on to find the next one and yes, in a beautiful spot. We grabbed this cache and turning around we had this wonderful view.
This was one of the caches we found on our South Island homeward journey from Picton after 3 weeks touring around the North Island in our camper van. Our thanks to the many CO's for the many great caches and placements which diverted us to many great locations. Sorry for the generic log, but so many caches to log. Lots of campers here today. TFTC
