Hubby and I are staying at Kinbombi Falls camp grounds overnight. What a great free camp. Tftc
his Easter, Seffnjarah and I took a road trip to Maryborough and surrounds before heading west to Mt Walsh. First order of business this morning was to climb Mt Walsh. After a successful mission, we visited Biggenden, collecting a few local Biggenden caches, and then wandered south through Kilkivan, where we fueled up before continuing.
Our caching targets were rarer cache types such as higher DT caches, large containers, unusual attributes that we need for challenges and of course unloved caches.
Whilst the campers nearby were enjoying their susnset drinks, we ambled down the path to take a look at the Falls. The running water was more of a dribble today, but the rock formations were interesting. Then we battled the long grass and cobblers pegs to find this one. All in good order here.

When other family arrangement for the Easter break fell through, I was lucky to score a ride with Crookedpete for an extended weekend geocaching road trip from Brisbane to around Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Mt Walsh and surrounding areas.
After making it up to the summit of Mt Walsh and back in about 3hrs this morning, that left plenty of time in the day to continue picking up some more caches on our extensive to-do list for the weekend. But first Crookedpete decided he he needed a burger to refuel his body after the strenuous walk and we headed to Biggenden to see what we could find. Surprisingly we managed to find a take away open on Easter Sunday. With Crookedpete's hunger sated, we ventured on to find some local caches before beginning the run south towards home, passing this cache along the way.
After a visit to the lookout to view the disappointingly dry waterfall, we were able to follow a faint trail most of the way to GZ. I managed to make the find here first and signed the logbook. On the walk back to the car we found the short section of trail we had lost on the way in so could follow the trail all the way back. TFTC

We had chosen to stay here overnight in this lovely peaceful spot and it was only when we arrived and set up that we thought to look if there were any caches in the vicinity. I was most pleased to see this on the map. After setting up, we headed down to the falls, making the short detour to make the find here on the way. Thanks GeckoSpit

Muggle65, Brislions, Mama Bear, The Cubs, and I set out in the dark to collect Camping Nearby attributes today. I made the find here today and container was full of water. A new log was obviously put in recently but as the bag was not closed properly, it was saturated. We put a new container in the same spot but the magnets are in the container and not contained in any way so care is required when removing the log so the magnets don't get lost. Thank you for the fun
Out with Bris, & the M& her Cubs, our intent is to wrestle a for the September Challenge. After checked what was available to us (more so me) we made plans and today we all started once again at sparrows to commence a long day racing about like crazy cachers.
Again caching unearths great locations that I may not have come to otherwise. Slowly I am uncovering an undiscovered country and the beauty it holds outside the suburban boundaries.

Another day in Kilkivan. We were going to have an easier day but as usual, it didn't work out that way. We changed plans along the way which was a bonus and headed towards Tansey. Then we decided to drive a loop and headed off to Goomeri. Having no lunch with us we stopped in Goomeri to see what we could find. A lovely older small town with some amazing old buildings and a fantastic bakery. Great coffee, but the pies are up there with Mataranka pies. Excellent. We then headed out to Kinbombi Creek Gorge and Falls another unexpected find. We only headed out because there were caches there, but what a bonus. Well worth the diversion.
We then returned to camp a Kilkivan.
Lots of really good sized caches in good condition.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache GeckoSpit.

TFTC camping here for a few nights while on our way to Tin Can Bay. Plastic bag replaced.
Out for a drive today on the back roads.
Very cool start to the day. However no rain In sight.
After a few treats from the Goomeri Bakery yesterday some exercise
is on the list for today.
TFTC gecko spit, hint was a big help as co ords had me 10m out.

With nothing better to do today, I thought I’d go for a couple of hundred km drive looking for some target caches for a few of crazy challenge caches…
The three caches here at Kinbombi Falls all have an attribute that I need… I balked at the lookout cache, I don’t do heights… so after studying the cliff face I made my way along the geotrail arriving at the obvious GZ… it didn’t take long to find the cache…
After the recent “weather event” the falls we’re running fast and loud…
I was surprised when I discovered I didn’t have a replacement in my backpack… so after replacing the snap lock bag I returned the container as I found it…

In the area today and decided to pick up a few caches and this was one of them. I parked nearby and once at GZ the cache was soon in hand and after signing the log all was returned as found.

TFTC. Cache found but is in need of some attention. Although complete and secure the lid has come of and I was unable to repair.
We're on our way to Hervey Bay and decided that Kinbombi Falls was the perfect spot to stop for lunch. While M relaxed in the caravan I went exploring. Then after lunch, once I'd remembered to check the app, I went back to find the geocaches here. So many stairs.....

We came out here earlier in the week after we’d been told there were the falls here. We haven’t seen water flowing over sadly but I imagine it’s a beautiful sight when it does. We were here late-ish so didn’t come and look for this one. But back today and we were onto it. Co-ords settled and had us pretty close so we took a peek and there it was. We gladly signed the log before replacing. Cheers and thanks for the cache GeckoSpit.
Our 3rd trip out this way in as many weeks, another 4 days for this run.
Why do country COs place their caches so FAR APART!
After a great night's sleep at Kinbombi Falls free camping we were keen to collect a few more smilies!
Day 2 ... #2 of 20 smilies today.
A short bushbash, mostly long grass, soon had me at GZ where the cache was quickly found.
Made our mark & replaced as found.
Don't you just love all those different varieties of grass seeds that penetrate your clothing & take forever to find & remove? [?]
The cache is still in place but the means of holding it in place has come away from the container.

Easy find after a very cautious walk through very long grass. Thanks for the Cache.
On our way home from Goomeri today we detoured to the pipeline. Cache found as per the hint, log signed and replaced as found. Thanks GeckoSpit for placing it here.
Hi there GeckoSpit.
We found your cache **"Pipeline"** today. (This makes our find count 25491).
We're camped at Goomeri Showground for a while. Today the plan was to head off to Kilkivan, but our "next closest" route managed to take us somewhere completely different.
We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, and our tally today was 19 caches today & 1 DNF's. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found each cache within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking. [:(!] (We did have to look a little further afield for some though). [:(!]
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Stopped in to do some maintenance as the log was missing and container broken when checked on 5th October. Bumped into Ms Maddy, I let her have the walk to the cache and she put the new log and new container in place for me.
Needed an Earthcache and wandered down to GZ to take pics and make a few notes Now there’s a crazy person running up the steps from the base of the waterfall and it’s flipping hot out here Nice to meet you and, hey, no problems doing a container swap at the pipeline

This cache took me off the main road,
where I found another haunt of the Grey Gomads [:o]
But what a beaut spot to explore !!
The walks down to the bottom,
and over to the lookout happened first
With a good dose of exercise under me belt,
I finally traced the path of the pipe.
A pleasant stroll away from the muggles,
and the cache was soon flushed out of hiding

Goomeri for 2 nights staying at the showgrounds.
We enjoyed the many caches we did along these backroads, the countryside being a lot dryer than we expected.
The caches were generally typically roadside caches.
A great spot to have a cache & an EC close by. Not nuch water but plenty of campers here.

Up in Killivan for the New Year event. My second one. Had lots of fun last year. And how much have I learned since then.

Sorry for the generic post.

TFTC. Day 2 of our trip away from the House sit at Bundaberg, exploring the Goomeri/Kilkivan area. The plan today Wes to do a loop through Tansey to Kilkivan and then return via the Wide Bay Highway, a triangle shape. A great day 44 attempted and only 1 dnf. I suspect that we were getting tired and there were muggles camped close by. That’s our excuse. All caches were relatively straightforward finds and unless noted all in good order. Thanks to the COs for adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Found while staying in the kilkivan area for about a week before heading for the big smoke down south. Having noticed that there was a lot of new caches placed in the area I set about converting some of them to smileys. This is of of the many I have found so far. All were easy find with no maintenance issues. TFTC
An easy walk and easy find. Couldn't attempt the other cache as a Muggle family were camped nearby and facing towards where we perceived the cache to be. TFTC
As we headed home from the New Year Event in Kilkivan we stopped in here for a look at the gorge and to find this cache.

Drove up from Canberra to Caloundra, to stay with my parents for the Christmas school holidays.
While I was up here I also went to Kilkivan for the New Year Cache Up event/weekend.
This was the second day, and second long list of caches, and again - I headed out with Grannysmith1947 (and her Geodog - Millie), and we were also joined by Selvagirls in her vehicle as well ... (so we were a rather short convoy? lol)
TFTC - the others let me grab this, and do the Earthcache while we were here for the other one that they had not yet found. Interesting little spot at an interesting place

After a long morning out and about finding caches on the tracks and trails, then an afternoon helping a newbie father and son navigate, program and search using a GPSr, I dropped them back so they could set up camp before heading out again to find just a few more caches.
After completing the nearby EC, it made sense to also grab this one while in the area. A short search and it was soon located thanks to the hint.

New Years Day today - at the 2017 Newbie Event, and we are still chasing some FTFs out on a closer track today We are in the company of the entire Vennfamily again today until we parted ways at "3 Leaf", and Selva Girls has joined us for the entire day. In fact, today we are in Selva Girls 4WD Geovehicle. Nice! [8)]
Today we are better planned, as overnight I made time to work out a better plan of action - out along Upper Thornside Road to the Upper Heights cache, then back to the tougher Widgee Mountain Road, then out along the 4WD track to the Hang Gliders leap and back, then up Black Snake Road to the Mt Mia caches then on to Kilkivan and around the back and along the Wide Bay Highway and along Kinbombi Road to pick up a few, then back over the Mountain to Widgee to get as many as we can to clear the area out. If we can do it, we'll visit 32 caches today.
Just the three of us now in the Selva Girls Geovehicle. We turned off the main Highway and ventured down Kinbombi Road: there are three cache in here. And as the CO says, it took us a little way off the beaten track!
Log signed & replaced again. Found at 4.00pm on 1st January 2017. TFTC

I was out with Sweet-Sour today placing caches in readiness for his event which will be held at the Widgee Showgrounds on the 1 and 2 January 2017. Whilst placing the caches and scouting out other areas, we decided to grab a few caches whilst we were at it. This was one of those caches.
We pulled up in the parking area and was surprised to see the number of campers staying overnight and after having a chat made the way to GZ.
It was not too long before the cache was in hand.

We are heading to Nanango's first event and even though it is not till Saturday we thought we would stop along the way and the get the caches that often get missed followed by the comment we will do that one, one day. Last night and tonight we are staying at the free caravan park at Murgon. No power but toilets and showers are available plus some nice shady trees. So with a bit of driving along the back roads we managed to find some of the caches while others were found closer to town. This was one we targetted and found. Nice hide. Thanks to GeckoSpit for its placement and adding to our enjoyment of this location.

Heading out nice and early for a camping trip at Bunya Mountains, I decided to take the scenic route and what began as a 3 hour trip soon turned into a 5 1/2 hour trip picking up many caches on the way and visiting many places I didn't know where there. I've never been out in this patch of Australia before and felt truly blessed to be in this magnificent country.

Pulling over for a much needed breaking, there were only 2 other groups of people here and they were just hanging out doing there own thing. I soon came to the spot and quickly found and signed the log. I do love old structures and as simple as this one is, the serenity of the location and how peaceful it was and how undisturbed it was made this quite pretty!
Thanks for the cache GeckoSpit!! Oh and definitely thanks for bringing me to a part of the country i've never been lucky to visit before.

Nice stroll watch the wasps that have decided to make thier home near the cache

Stopped to have lunch and grab a few caches while here. Had a seat on the pipeline, very cold, place to be in summer. Thanks
Had the day off because it was Gympie show day and decided to do some geocaching out west.
Lovely spot, disappointed that there wasn't much water going over the falls today.

Found it forgot to bring a pen though. Phone reception cut out half way to find but with a bit of experience and knowledge was an easy find.
