Was quite a hard search as old trees seem to be stacked in GZ. Will return to locate.??
Sadly archiving this one as although it is still here...the area has severely deteriorated since I placed it 6 years ago.
There is all manner of rusty broken metal parts of machinery...chopped trees ...a pile of whiskey bottles...sad to see.
Have removed the container from it's cave .??

A bit of caching in West Auckland today. No problems at GZ. Good spot for a hide. T4TC
Nice and easy find, the whole place looks like it’s been used by a garbage dump by the neighbours though.
All good here, thanks!
All good here, thanks!
Didn't find this one. So much broken glass and rubbish around wasn't safe to look in all the cracks
Managed to find it after having a second look its in a snack container and not as far from the path than we thought
We made our way down here - and it was a quick find.
Nice one.
Many thanks SN

Found it with few problems though it wasn't in the first cave we saw. Lots of treasues but no log.
Thanks...sounds a bit grim...when I come back from Wellington I'll go round with a rubbish sack...
Or is it larger items?

Found! And wow yes a lot of rubbish! We went right past this at the start and ventured off into the dump unfortunately (not sure if my phone gps isnvery good!) not neccesary, after some backtracking we found the treasure! Very cool container. We picked up a couple of the travel bugs - tftc
Cool treasure. Shame about the rubbish in such a lovely spot. Think Ill phone the councill
A rare day that we had to ourselves and reasonably sunny as well, so we set out nice and early on a Sunday to enjoy some caching in the west. Was a bit of rubbish around GZ and almost overshot the hide, but noticed the cache quickly. Left a TB in for its onwards journey. TFTC!
After a morning of housework and grocery shopping we headed out with the goal in mind to reach our 2500th cache by the end of the day (we needed 17 and we achieved it). There was a lot of rubbish near GZ, and we almost walked past but when we headed in the correct direction Mr NZT soon found the treasure in the cave. TB dropped here. Found with NZTravellers, darthcacher1 and purply.
Nice quick find today in the beautiful sunshine. Great hide, thought I'd hit paydirt with all that treasure....cheers V.
Found two treasure chests here both with a log in maybe an old one & a new one?
All good here!
Container a little mouldy inside the lid.
I am always on lookout for a more durable treasure chest!
The damp won't stop you signing the log paper which is inside a blue bison !!!!

I think I found the cache, but it doesn't seem to match any of the previous pictures. It must be one of those caches that changes every time someone finds it. TFTC.
Out and about enjoying the warm and sunny weather by collecting smilies. I parked up at the top and walked down to GZ. The GPSr wanted me to go bush, but I didn't think I would find a cave there, so concentrated on more likely terrain. But a search of the few likely spots did not yield the treasure. I had a look at the logs, which seemed to confirm my approach. With the mozzies descending on me it was time to call the CO. This pretty much confirmed to me that it was missing, though I searched a bit longer. But when some muggles decided to take a rest it was time for me to depart.
The CO has since visited GZ and confirmed that the cache was missing. Not only that, but a replacement is already in place. Talk about service! Logged with the CO's kind permission. Cheers for the cache placement and the cache maintenance efforts!

Came here before it gets dark. Parked up on Helena St, and walked down to GZ. Having read some of the comments, I had no difficulty checking the easy to reach places and easy find here. Log is a little wet, but managed to sign. TFTC
We made this a bit harder than D1.5 as our GPSr sent us to one wrong spot after another. Quite a bit of trash here - we thought possibly it was a landfill once? As it was, there was no need to sifting through garbage and the cache was closer to the path than we thought. Geowife made the grab here, just as I PAFed the CO - not needed in the end. Thanks for placing this here, nice little container.
Not too hard a find, but the replacement chest was a great deal smaller than the cache info/previous pics portrayed.
Managed to leave a TB though.
TFTC!

My gps was a little off, but kiwimarble was there with an assist. A nice little path through the trees, but watch out for broken glass around the gz. TFTC.
Almost forgot to log this one.
Had helped to pick up the rubbish around rest of Helena Reserve, for the CITO. So when the 3 of us clambered up the steps for this cache, we only took one rubbish bag with us, pulled out any rubbish we saw on the way up and left on steps to pick up on way down (no use lugging the extra weight.
However when we got to the top by the cache, their was soooooo much rubbish, we wished we had brought our bags.
Thankfully just as we returned the cache to it hiding place, other cachers arrived, with bags - they had also picked up our piles on their way. TFTC

At today's CITO event was a nice walk despite the weather, barking dogs and rubbish, thank you for another cool placement (:
Tftc. Out doing a CITO tidy up along the river bank. The stuff some people think is ok to dump is amazing.
As planned, after the CITO event today, Miss Three and I drove around to the other park entrance to find this treasure chest. Good to meet you this morning - tftc!
Wandered up through the park with geodogs Jack n Ted, after the CITO this morning. GZ was quite wet & muddy, but I found the secret cave and the treasure, without much ado. Left some swag. Cool cache Supernanny, thanx
I had to go and visit my daughter's house today and did this one on the way.
Swapped TBs.
Cheers for the cache.

I am still trying to find another nice wooden treasure chest..but in the meantime I have put a waterproof container and fresh log inside it !
Entered from Helena Street. I searched a bit too far past GZ and am appalled by the amount of rubbish. Was this a landfill? Not sure if it is sanitary...
Headed back to the path and found the treasure chest. A great idea for a container!! Log book is a little damp so that it is difficult to write on. Bag may need to be replaced with a sealable one.

The treasure chest has become quite mouldy.
Anyway, wasn't an easy find in the dark, we came up from Sunline Ave, then jumped into the bush but jumped too far in, that resulting in us looking in all the wrong places at the start.
Thanks for the cache!

Out with Hughie_ for some cachin' while the Mrs and little one were resting.
Made out way up to GZ from the carpark on Sunline Road. Very nice cache container, log is wet but signable. It could do with a resealable bag, sorry didn't have any on me.

Spent 20 mins trying to find it with mum. Hard to know what you're looking for with all that rubbish. Enter through the walkway on Helena or you will have to walk up the hill. I was about to give up until I saw the placement of other objects surrounding it and straight away knew the cache would be in there.
Seeing that Supernanny had confirmed this was still there I went back for another look, and took urbangypsynz with me as a 2nd pair of eyes. My gps took me back to where I had found the 'other' cave so was expanding my search when I heard ugnz say 'found it'. My gps had me about 9 metres away so I'm using that excuse for being blind the first time! And a nice treasure chest it was too, I took TB
This has been on my to do list for a while so was happy to be the back up eyes. GPS had me do the geocache dance but then I looked over and thought that looks odd. Very cool cache.
Went there today and it is still there !!! Added a toy....saw a tb there.....thanks all for making sure cave entrance is discrete !
I found a cave but didn't find any treasure, will watch this to see if I found the wrong cave, but it was where co-ords said the cache should be.
Further to our find the other day - mobile version of the GC app didn't seem to allow for logging trackables.
The GPS took us deeper in than we needed to go. It did deliver a likely hint object ,which we came away from empty handed but with a cut to Scotties forehead from a sharp piece of metal- thankfully tetanus jabs current!!
Leaving the site presented one more option and cache was duly found. Glad to get a smiley. TFTC.

After walking 100m or so past it, then hiking back up through some step, slippery bush, we found the treasure! Swapped with another trinket
Was nearby picking up a trademe item and decided to find this treasure! Much easier to come from the top, we had walked previously from Woodside road, weaving along the stream reserve and roads. Thought I would be signing next to rebel98, but the log has already been signed (tmann421). Thanks for the hide, a cold but dry visit to ground zone
Nice quick find lots of rubbish around gz nice park below got this between the rain
tftc left a loom braclet. took nothing. met a lovely caching family at this cache which made it a nice easy find for me!
Our GPS started out a few metres off, resulting in me closely examining some tetanus-inducing trash, while Miss 4yo stood off at a safe distance, but then it jumped and took us right to it. We were surprised by the arrival of witchygirl (sp?) just as we were about to put it away again. Talk about being caught in the act.
Took a loomband and left a goat. TFTC.

Pretty neat cache! Don't wander to far off the path though.. The rubbish pile smell might knock you over
Step walk, unfit I was lol kids were fitter than me !! shocked to see smell a sight so discusting, half vomitting haha finally found it, nice surprise, cute find
So many caves to search for treasure. The area could use some serious CITO, though I doubt it will get it.
Up in Auckland for a birthday party, and spent my downtime caching. So many people, cars and humidity.
Thanks for the hide.

One mans trash is another mans treasure and so much of it. Interesting how we also found multiple caves.
Such a cool find! Came alone at night (would not recommend) took me ages, almost fell down the bank, about to give up then had one last search. Tftc! Was so satisfying!!
Went out this evening with yorkshirekiwi83 for a couple of hours caching out West. Made a quick find of this neat container - pity about all the trash around here! TFTC!
