Decided to head up the highway for another day and to grab those caches I've been driving past on previous trips. Started here and headed south before taking a triangle direction.
Made quick work of this one and soon had the log signed.
Thanks again Tyred n Cranky...

Dromaniax needed to get their Caravan to their block in Moonambel so I offered the use of my geomobile (The Ginja Ninja, named because it is used for stealth caching attacks) to aid the project. Once the van was delivered we set up camp so the rest of the afternoon and even could be devoted to some caching.
A plan was formed with a mix of Adventure labs and caches heading to St Arnaurd for dinner.
Neither of us had cached along this road in previous trips to St Arnaud so it was a good chance for a few smileys.
It was an easy decision on which way to go after finding the cache here tonight as the sun was setting and our bellies were getting hungry.
Thank you Tyred n Cranky for the hide

Mr Sims_family and Mr Dromaniax had headed up to Moonambel to take the Dromaniax caravan to their property. It was decided that they would camp overnight at the property and do a little caching around the area.
So the caravan had been delivered at the tent and stretchers set up. As the Avoca pub was closed today it was decided we would head up to St Arnaud to check out dinner options there.
We decided to cache our way up to pick up caches neither of us had found on that trip.
Neither of us had cached up this round so it was a good choice for us to pick up a few smileys.
We arrived at Five Ways and made a nice quick find of a cache in excellent condition.
Now which way from here, so many options.
Thank you for this Traditional cache Tyred n Cranky

Hi there Tyred n Cranky.
We found your cache **"Five Ways"** at 12:16:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 24526).
We started the day off by nominating a cache near our camp site and then took a route that was mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
We found 21 caches today & DNF'd 1. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic travels around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

A quick caching session whilst leaving our muggle friends back at camp. Thanks for the cache.
We’ve been camping at teddington hut for the long weekend and ducked out for a short afternoon cache session. Completed this little side road trail before looping back to camp for dinner. All caches in good order. Thanks for the hides.
#4147 Only one muggle went past whilst we were at this location. Not bad when it is possible for muggles to come from 5 different directions!! Whilst Mr BGF kept watch, although not sure which way to look , Mrs BGF made the quick find. TFTC T n C.
After attending the Mega and then spending a day with friends at Wareek we took the back roads on our way home collecting caches along the way. Nice easy find. Kids enjoyed exploring the council block work stores across the road. TFTC
Now that the Mega was over, there was still more caching to be had so I joined up with fellow Canberra geobuddies kittykatch, Smittengranny and Joolay, AKA Capital Crunchers.
Stopped off here to make the quick find before continuing on with our caching loop.
Thanks for the hide, Tyred n Cranky

This weekend was the St. Arnaud Mega event and I was looking forward to hitting the road for a few days doing some flat out caching, visiting many new and amazing places and catching up with lots of caching friends. The event was a great success and heaps of fun. The caches provided by the local cachers were, in many cases, absolutely mind blowing (FUF009 caches most notably). All in all it was a great weekend, very warm weather and lots of caches found.

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.
FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.
Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).
On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the 2019 Victorian Mega event. The weekend was spent primarily with e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98 as we geocached around the vicinity of St Arnaud. All of the events and CITOs were attended, we completed the available adventure labs and lab caches available at the showgrounds, many of the creative trails were gasped at their construction, and interesting puzzles were solved and collected during the weekend.
We all left on Thursday in two separate cars, and met up at the evening event, before finding a camp spot for the night in a very CITO location. On Friday, we targeted the StARS (St Arnaud Ramble Series) and the higher quality, well-constructed geocaches that were famous here in St Arnaud, and got lucky with the 2019 published series that we managed to snag FTFs on. Sunday had us continuing to find the other sets of high-quality caches around the neighbouring town parks, the challenge series, before spending a few hours at geocaching HQ participating in the labs that had been published. The event was also great to see some of the South Australians honoured with geocaching life awards (in amongst everyone on the list). Our final day, Sunday, had us do a big loop finishing off our geocache collection, driving all the way out to Kooreh and around via Stuart Mill, walking the conservation park at Mount Gowar, and finishing off at the GIFF event. A massive weekend that turned out to be a great mega! Thanks to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. The variety between the local high-quality caches, the new series placed by the mega team, and those who needed to be around for the labs and main centre fielding questions was appreciated immensely.
Today with our final day in St Arnaud, we went east and south focusing on some of the *Original Road* series, and the various geocaches that were placed along these routes. This cache was one of these found as we headed towards Stuart Mill. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. The logbook was signed as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98).

Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud Mega event. On Day 1, e.gregory1, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday morning, straight after the Earlybirds event in North Adelaide. We travelled a long and circuitous route via Bordertown, Nhil and Warracknabeal to find caches in 5 additional Victorian LGAs that I had yet to visit (namely Buloke, Loddon, [Greater Bendigo - I’d previously visited], Mt Alexander, Hepburn and Central Goldfields). On Days 2-4 we met up with Freddo and Davidwazza. As a group we systematically completed each of the many series around St Arnaud and found all other caches along the way, signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, Featherwaite and gridge98), as well as attending the events and completing the Lab caches. After the Mega, e.gregory1 and I headed back to Adelaide camping out in Little Desert NP overnight. On Day 5 we had intended picking up caches around Mundulla and Mount Monster but a last minute change of plans saw us head into Ngarkat CP instead, for a solid drive and a few extra rewarding cache finds. Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the huge variety of caches around St Arnaud and to all those who organised the Mega and the fantastic weekend away. Thanks for the cache Tyred n Cranky!
We detour down south to finish off the last few caches down here, cache was found all in good order
What a big trip this was! I headed over to St Arnaud for the 2019 Victorian mega with e.gregory1, Davidwazza, Featherwaite and Freddo for the long weekend.
The weekend was filled with a lot of finds ranging in puzzles, a few events and some very well constructed hides around the area.
Day 1: I headed over with e.gregory1 and featherwaite, with the aim to collect some unfound LGAs for the guys, with only a 500km drive to the mega from home we added an extra 450km to the trip by going over to Bendigo and further south exploring some regional towns, overall we added an extra 6 LGAs with only 18 finds for the day. Was great to see some of the interesting little towns and what they had to offer for future visits.
Day 2: As a group we hit the trails in St Arnaud as a group signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, featherwaite and gridge98) to save a lot of room in the logbook. We started off with the geoart Stars and thought it would take most of the day, as we finished it in 2.5 hours we were a bit surprised so hit the well constructed caches in the south of the town in the bush throwing a CITO in the mix. All the caches were amazing and something you don’t see anywhere else. Adding in 15 FTFs along the way with: everlasting, crank1 and Pwola. The evening settled in and we headed into town for a buffet dinner and a catch up with some familiar faces.
Day 3:
After attending the GV2020 event for the morning we set off to hit the last of the trails left in town of the metal containers, followed by the challenges for the mega as well as quite a few trads around the back roads. We ended the day by having a go at the lab caches at the mega then off to the CITO. I don't think I have ever seen so mant people at a tip before. Topped off the day with an evening event.
Day 4: By today the town was almost cleaned out and only a few caches to find, so we did the last few caches within a rough 15km radius driving around finding the odd cache here and there. The GIFF was finished off the mega so we decided to head to Horsham for the evening.
Day 5: After leaving our camp site for the morning, we cached for the morning around Horsham collecting a few grads and a well earned swim. Then made the long drive back home to Adelaide.
Thanks to all the COs for their cache placements and the Geocaching Victoria crew for organising a fantastic weekend away.

Today we went looking for some of the bingo items being the far and wide letterbox and completing the social bingo we placed our entry in and went on for a great roll provided by the Rotary club and it was a wonderful meal.
Which way do we need to go? Oh its over there so park there and it should be just there and it was so after the short search it was in hand the log signed bingo sheet stamped and all returned to the resting place it was found.
Thanks again Tyred n Crank for bring us here.

Our third find for the day on the road from our accommodation in Dunolly to the Mega event and we were still excited to be on the road and collecting some nice straight forward caches to start the day. MSL dropped some travel bugs off here, the log was signed and we were back on the road to the Mega. Belatedly realised that the contents of this cache may have come in handy later in with some Mega activities... oh well! TFTC Tyred n Cranky

On our way to the MEGA, we came in this back route from Dunolly to gather a couple of caches en route. This was one of them and we realised later what the stamp was for. Oh well, we got lucky with the size of the container and dropped off two TBs that have come with me from a holiday in Canberra, home to Gippsland then up here. TFTC Tyred n Cranky

After finally getting leave approved for the 2019 St Arnaud event, it was time to get underway from Canberra on the Thursday morning, 5am departure!
Myself, DSD and ZQX teamed up for an eventful weekend filled with caching and many km’s including dozens of towns and counties I have never been through before!
We drove all the way from Canberra to St Arnaud today, grabbing a couple caches along the way including a lunch time event in Bendigo, before arriving in time for the dinner event near the mega site. We managed to grab almost every cache type today alone, targeting interesting ones along the way.

After having a very hectic time at home over the last couple of weeks we decided to get away from it all and do a bit of caching by ourselves and as we had solved all of the Stars series here and also to get a few caches out of the way before the mega to give us more time to socialize.
We have a five ways out near us as well and we have the same sayings about heading out to five ways but ours has a general store on one of the roads so you can also go shopping at 5 ways. We actually followed the cache page description, drove to five ways and veered right and then stopped and followed the GPSr needle into the bush for a nice quick find right where the needle said that it should be.
Thanks once more Tyred n Cranky for the cache.

Our third day in St Arnaud for geocaching and birding. This was another quick find on our trip along Dunolly Rd. Time for a detour along the Stuart Mill Low Road. TFTC
Day 2 of a school holiday caching getaway in St Arnaud.
Busy this morning collecting the event puzzle geoart - but the rain got too hard, so we thought we would hit the bitumen this afternoon and collect some trads and other puzzles we had solved.
No sooner had we hit the bitumen that the weather cleared up!
Little Miss Tess really liked your caches down the Stuart Mill Low Road Tyred n Cranky as they were all big containers with lots of swaps.
Thanks for the family friendly caches.

OK - so which arm are we going to go down? Let's go back to St Arnaud and do some of those BW caches that are all 500 metres off the track
Thanks Tyred n Cranky

St Arnaud Day 3 our last day here, staying at the caravan park
After lunch we decided to do a drive around the country side as a change. We enjoyed the various locations we visted, a nice way to tour the region.

The long weekend approached and as I was up here for the event in January and I noticed all of the caches up here and was told by numerous cachers that there are some high quality caches to be found so I decided to spend the weekend up this way.
Caching around the outskirts of town taking all of the back roads before hitting town.
I knew which way I was going and I stayed on the bitumen to keep finding caches.
Thanks Tyred n Cranky TFTC

I had a few days off, so what better place to head than St Arnaud for some quality cache finding, I had a great time finding caches over three days and even caught up with some good friends while in the area. I cant wait to return for the Mega, this is My second visit to the area and it certainly offers some of the best hides in the state.
Thanks Tyred n Cranky for the cache.

Here for the '10 Months to the Saint Arnaud Event', event this afternoon. We decided to get an early start and find some cool caches, after the event we were able to keep on caching long into the afternoon. I dropped some rare pathtags in some random caches today. Thanks for the cache Tyred n Cranky.

TFTC. We decided to go for a drive today before the heat got too much later in the week. First stop Redbank and then on to Stuart Mill and a small circle back along the highway to collect a few Original Road Puzzles before heading back to Maryborough. After finding the cache we made the decision to continue toward the Highway. We did return here later and headed home.
Heading home from the Parkeville Mega but had to come to St Arnaud to do this years caches. A warm day and again you have excelled yourself with the cache containers. TFTC. A lot of favourites here.
Thanks for bringing me along this road...lots to see...
On my way to the Mega at Parkville...

After returning from the early morning foray to Donald to attend the Brekky event there and to collect the local caches in that town, I had some lunch before I again joined forces with the ever delightful Bushfire for an afternoon of caching around the St Arnaud area. It was a mixed bag, collecting some for Bushfire that I had found, and some for me that he had found but mostly others that we were both seeking 5 roads meeting like this is a little uncommon TFTC Tyred and Cranky
Google is not my friend anymore due to having my email address locked last Wednesday night and not getting it back until a few days ago.
This caused me a lot of hassles during my caching trip to St Arnaud last weekend by not receiving any notifications of new caches and having to rely on my mates and some of them had problems with the Telstra coverage but we got there in the end.
Adding to my problems I am now many days behind in my logging so it will a generic log for the most part.
Also on returning home my printer decided to go to sleep.
A week later I think everything including my tablet is back to normal, so phone, tablet and computer are all finally working as you would expect them to.
It is interesting to note the number of geocaching folk who head up to St Arnaud to attend this weekend seems to increase in numbers each year and how far away they have to go for accommodation thus the reason I book ahead each year.
Today I am accompanied by my good friend au.fait as we ventured up to Donald to clean out that area and then returned back to St Arnaud for lunch. Afterwards we headed down this way as every time I am passing I have the caravan on behind so have not ventured down this section of road. My old saying "Expect the unexpected" came true along here.
On arrival Faye and I thought we would have a problem with a couple of 4x4's and a caravan which seemed to have a problem but the guys were more interested in getting their problem sorted than worry about us so it ended up an east find. Phew!!!
Thanks Tyred n Cranky for placing this cache.

Definitely a busy intersection, I bet the passer byers were wandering what we were up to. Signed the log and return the cache. TFTC
#14819. A travelling day for Robmc and me as we make our way to St Arnaud for the weekend. A nice little tally of 20 caches found before we reached town in time for a late lunch. After settling in we unloaded the bicycles and headed out to do one of the trails just out of town. A good day with a total of 40 caches found.
Rob had already done this one so he sat in the car and waited while I wandered across the road and found the nicely hidden container. Added my name and we continued on.
Thanks Tyred n Cranky
