Had to stop the search because we got scared of the guy watching us from the kitchen window..hi from SWISS guy..anyway can I Log it ?
Took a bit of a hunt but eventually we spotted it. I could see how the neighbors could become a problem (what with their chairs directly facing the area from their conservatory). Thankfully it was near dinner time so hopefully they were busy at the table discussing the matters of the day over some sausages and mash.
Found with some drama a Male came over and chastised me for wrecking the garden. He was very vocal. Warning warning. Looking at the front of the adjacent sign. The property on the left hànd corner. I of course want damaging the garden. He was also quite aggressive in his manner.
On the road to Hobbiton today. We are visiting from Toronto ON Canada to spend 25 days with our daughter who lives in Wellington NZ. We have planned a driving tour of both the north island and the south island. Quick stop at GZ. Found at 2:59 PM. Thank you KirsTim for placing and maintaining this cache.
Wasn't feeling optimistic but can confirm the find of the cache all warm, high and dry. 2browndogs
hier haben wir die suche abgebrochen. es ist nicht in unserem sinne den busch zu zerstören. d&tr
We were driving from Taupo to Paeroa today and wanted to have a break and a bit of a walk. Saw these caches in Matamata and thought they fit the bill. We parked the motor home at Founders Park and walked a loop though Centennial Drive to collect 6 caches along the way. The walk took us just over an hour and was thoroughly enjoyable. What great foresight the early developers had to create this lovely green space.
Matamata is the most attractive town we have visited during our holiday in NZ. Congratulations to the council and the residents.

Found this on a trip to Matamata the day was good and the log has been replaced no one around today maybe it was to cold TFTC
A reminder to ourselves that geocaches that would be very easy and straightforward in normal weather become quite a bit more challenging when it is bucketing with rain. Parked up near gz and gleaned what we could from the listing and hint and then went for it. No use dodging rain drops but fortunately cache was more or less where expected and were able to retrieve the log, get signed and replaced and put the cache back and only look moderately drowned rat-like. All good here, and thanks for the cache.
Wahooo - tricky made more by swinging GPS Coord. Log strip very fragile & needs maintenance. TFC
I am off to Matamata for my sister's wedding, so took the late night ferry and got as far as QEII Park near Paraparaumu on Wednesday night. This morning I was up and heading into the park at about 5 am for an early cache, one of my missing hidden months. The plan was to arrive at the cache at about dawn but in the end I found five caches along this road and got back to the car, all before dawn had arrived.
And I am also pursuing the planets, but I have 1000 points already, so not only am I past Pluto, I am also past Eris (larger than Pluto, almost twice as far out). Hoping to get 2000 points by the end of the promotion. What is that? The Oort cloud?
I get to Matamata at long last. Sign in to the backpackers, and a little time up my sleeve, so a bit of caching is in order.
Nice easy find, and I love how applicable the cache name is, as here, at this cache, I went bison hunting. So a favourite just for the awesome title!
Cheers,
Tom (the Seagnoid)

Another gorgeous location. VERY nosey muggle in the house next door so we had to be super patient but eventually we were able to retrieve and sign the log without being noticed. TFTC
Took longer than it should have done to find.
Signed the log and replaced as found

Nicely hidden, almost missed it, but it is hard to fool me these days (hayleyfcy and I seem to have a knack for finding lots of hard-to-find ones, especially ones with dnfs before us - though this one didn't have that, so it wasn't really going to be too difficult!) Thanks!
(Sorry for the copy and paste logs - I am logging this retrospectively as my 4G wasn't working when we found these this afternoon.) Really enjoyed these ones in Matamata as they had easy parking, and were straightforward yet still good fun. We've done all the caches in Matamata now. We did these all in less than half an hour, what do geocachers in Matamata get up to? Will have to come back next time if new ones pops up. Thanks for the cache!
Passing through matamata after the Morrinsville fun run, ran into georunnermatt and a borrowed geohound, so took a geowander. Caching is easier with a dog! Log half full now
Over in Matamata for the day to visit mum. Caught up with livee_nz who had been in Morrisville for a running race, and took mums new dog for a caching walk. Found this one quite easily, but had to be careful to not get spotted by muggles. Having a dog seems to help a lot with stealth TFTC
Found while heading home after doing the Tough Guy n Gal Challenge in Rotorua yesterday. Nice green walkway.
Took Daddyo and I a bit to find it...crazy coz it's winter and everything is naked....you would think it would have been easier for us to find haha. Another Mighty Matamata cache ticked off.
Easy park and grab. In a mission today to get a tb to the LOTR film set to achieve its goal. Tftc
On holiday from the USA. Thanks for the cache. Cute little neighborhood I was able to see on this hunt.
Red Roaming as we continue our wonderful tour of NZ. another good day weather-wise. logs signed DD & RR or with our full caching names.
RR soon had this one in hand. TFTC

Yesterday we went to Hobbiton in Matamata. We enjoyed it very much. In spite of the weather, we had now and then some rain. On our way to Rotorua we found these 6 caches. TFTC
This is the first of six caches. All caches were quickly found. Yesterday we went to Hobbiton despite the rain we loved it. TFTC
Tftc...exactly where logic told us it should be...just took us blondes a bit of a look see.
Thanks
Thanks
The trickiest and most elusive on our cache trail today! We will try again another day
The bison was quite elusive tonight, evading the beam of the torch as it passed by again and again. However finally it was trapped in the light and we managed to capture the wee bison and sign the log. A tricky wee hide, in exactly the place we expected it to be - it just took us a while to spot.
We're in the Matamata area for Family Camp at Totara Springs.
Went for a drive in the evening to have a look for this one.
Cache is in good condition. All nice and dry inside.
Thank you

We really just gave this one a cursory look because of the weather and needing to head back to Pukekohe. It may be there but we didn't spend too much time. We knew what we should be looking for but just couldn't come up with it. Maybe someday we will get to return to this beautiful island and will try it again
Mmmm, not sure if I'm not experienced enough of whether the setting sun had something to do with it... Will be back...
I joined Tom in his pursuit on me lap of the towne this morning
I did think the skool age muggles might be a problem at this hour,
or the joggers and dog guided muggles,
but no !!
A few wandered or were dragged past,
but the caches had been easy retrieves once spotted
Good boy SPOT !!
Talking about spotting bison,
I soon did
Oh this one could have been hidden in a much nastier location
Thanks for being nice to us finders [^]

In Cambridge for the day with our cycle group to look at the Velodrome and do the Te Awa River ride. Very impressive. Enjoyed the opportunity to grab a few smileys afterwards on our way back to Tauranga as well. Great day out. Matamata put on some great weather for us.
Nice easy find. Cache all good. So nice to see owners maintaining their cache & to write in a new log.TFTC

Needed to do some cache maintenance near Hobbiton today, so thought I'd detour into Matamata for a wander around and hopefully to find some caches too. Parked up at the start of the heritage trail, and had a nice meander over to here; turn around spot for me & a nice little cache, thanks. TFTC
