I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Disabling for now - it looks like the cache has been muggled. I'll replace it soon.
No luck for us here today, searched around lots of possible places in the area to make sure but nothing found.
Found it! The cache was a bit exposed here. I put it back where I found it, but covered it a little in fallen leaves. TFTC!
Quick find only a few hundred metres from home. Thanks and cheers from Grandalf(2590)
On a weekend caching mission to qualify for another GLSC licence.
Heading towards Avonhead Park so I found these in reverse order.

Team G0LD: Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ are down from Whangarei for a few days. We've all solved the 4 big geoarts so they are the main target for the trip. Of course there were many other puzzles solved as well which filled in the 24th. The 25th was the Smurfs and Fresh Breath. 26th was Rattle and Horses. We certainly made a great dent in my solved puzzle list but I'll still have enough for another trip.
As Pete said we weren't going to pass up any trads along our route and these four all looked very close to the road and seemed like potentially easy finds. It was indeed another quick find at gz. Thanks for this little trail of caches on this old Christchurch Road

Team G0LD ( 0B80B8, Lis's crew & DaffyNZ ) on a caching mission to Christchurch. We had travelled down from Whangarei yesterday, so today was our first full day to get into it.
Solved puzzles were going to be the main focus of our trip. We had spent a lot of 2020 and 2021 solving over 400 puzzles, so we had a lot on our list. Thankfully the weather looked like it was going to play ball today, as caching in the rain is always just that bit harder.
We weren't going to pass up any trads as well though if they were handy on our route and these four fitted that bill. A nice quick find by Lis with the good hint. Just as well as my phone had died and the powerbank wasn't working for some reason. TFTC

We were in the area grabbing a couple of solved puzzles and decided to do this nice wee trail of caches on our way home.
This first cache was rather busy today with nearby home construction there were contractor vehicles everywhere going back and forth as well as several older muggles out for an early afternoon walk.
One old lady spied me as I was about to replace the cache
"That's a funny place to hide" she remarked
("Not if you're a Geocache" I thought to myself)
Before actually replying "I'm doing a scavenger hunt thing" pointing at the power pylon with my phone.
Though not entirely correct, it's pretty close to the truth and she seemed to buy it
"Good luck" she called, disappearing from sight.
A quick return then back round the corner to the car and off to #2
Container & log in great condition

Made it back in the daylight to complete this one in the series. Nice and quick so I tucked it in a bit more on replacement tftc!
Maintenance performed a few weeks ago, just forgot to update the hint and description back then. Moved the cache a few meters away from the original coordinates, but the hint should be sufficient to locate it.
Reread thru a dozen logs as seemed like this one was definitely still here but can not seem to find it
Out with busy paws getting a few caches in the area. Started at the other end and collected all of this series. Thanks for the cache silverfern7.
We recall visiting Hawthornden Road for these caches some years ago, but were unable to look for them because either the road was closed, or work was being done on it. Today the area has totally changed. Although the updated coordinates are spot on, and the hint in the owner's log of 20th August provided useful extra information, we still took a while to find the cache, as we were looking for the 200ml snap-lock container described, but the cache is actually a micro. With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap). Logging all finds as Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa - Our hometowns)... During Covid-19 lockdown, we solved a truck load of puzzles around Christchurch - Canterbury region. No use thrashing the old grey matter for no cause - We decided we should make good on this handiwork...
There are lots of interesting trails and geoart surrounding Christchurch. What you aren’t told is how far flung some of these caches actually are. Some beforehand advice would have been great, so here are some of my notes... You’re welcome!
1. Mobile coverage is patchy, especially in those quiet, rural areas where it was most needed. Saving caches to offline might show that you are prepared and organised...
2. There are many dusty metal roads on the trails. The car will get messy, and your hair will feel like cardboard at the end of the day...
3. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential. You will climb in and out of hedges, gorse, and other rough stuff. You might get scratched, cut to shreds, and bleed a lot. It’s not advised to wear your brand new jacket on the day...
4. Take lots of food and drink. You’ll probably be head down, tail up and not realise you haven’t eaten until late afternoon. There are very few shops or gas stations out there...
5. Make sure that you secure keys and wallet and know where these are placed for easy retrieval. A full box of pens might be useful too, especially if you’re inclined to free some into the wild...
6. Know the difference between left and right, and north, south, east, and west. Turning right and heading north will not get you to South Christchurch quickly.
7. Look with girl’s eyes rather than boys eyes... Some caches haven’t been found in a while and you might have to get down on your knees to pray.
8. Always be prepared for misleading hints. This is what turns simple caches into D5/T5 hides... “Head height” could mean the cache is positioned at your toes.
9. Have a sense of humour and like the people you go caching with. It’s going to be a very long day, and you might want to hurt someone during the journey...
10. Make sure you can operate your phone/device and it doesn’t crash when you most need it...
11. Learn to cut and paste logs because you’re going to repeat this function so often when logging all of your finds.
12. Above all else, have fun and be kind...
Tired, tired, tired! Four days of early morning and late night caching can knock the stuffing out of you... We decided to take it easy today and focus on some city caches - And maybe finish with some Adventure Labs for good measure. It's Sunday - a day of rest... No problem with this hide - Found exactly as hinted. Thanks silverfern7 and TFTC.

After puzzle solving in the Canterbury region along with EyeSpyBen we were invited to join Fap (from Fap & Gap) and Squirrel Nutcase to a week long caching adventure in the Canterbury area. With flights and accommodation booked were off, all met up in ChCh. and many hard dusty Kms travelled and many caches found, I think the Squirrel has said it all in his brief. Many thanks for the placements and Cos for bringin us to the very pleasant areas we travelled in to your region
Down in Christchurch with the Squirrel, ABCDF4 and eyespyben. During Covid lockdown, we solved a load of puzzles and decided that this would be a good time to visit. We've enjoyed a few days of good weather and seeing the Canterbury countryside. The caches have been in varying states - some good, some not so much. Our time here has been a blast, and we'd like to thank all COs who have made this adventure possible. Thank you and TFTC.

We were on a roll but that came to a sudden stop here. Either the cache has disappeared or we've lost the knack .
This cache is disabled due to the COVID-19 situation and alert level 4 in NZ to avoid the cross-contamination and to encourage people not to travel.

Absolutely guttered couldn’t find this last one in the series , had the whole team looking for a good 15 ish mins, gps was no help and unfortunately we just couldn’t seem to find it, will try again another time
GPS absolutely no help on this one, but managed to find it after a little look. Tftc!
Had a little bit of spare time after work today before needing to be at the airport so what better thing to do than find a couple of caches. Cache was a quick find today. Thanks for the cache.
We did the available Hawthornden Trail numbers #4, #2, #1 from north to south. Once again a quick find. A muggle out for a walk passing us just after we had signed #4 and #2. With #1 she came around the corner while we were in the process of signing the log. Our antics of starting and stopping while driving down the road must have seemed a bit odd to her! TFTC
1st signature in the new logbook. Thanks for the rehide. Visiting from Hamilton. Tftc

The area is being developed - hopefully will be back in action once the construction works are finished.
The whole area is in development. There is temporary fencing up and the original fence is gone.
Despite the road closure and detour signs, we continued towards this cache, but concluded it would be behind the temporary fencing, and thus not accessible at present.
In the area so thought a good cache to get, lovely residents across the road pointed me in which direction lol I asked how do u know the fella said we have seen alot stopping. Nice dry cache but feet a little wet via photo but that’s all part of geocacheing
Found obvious location with two stones but no cache. Suspect subdivision works have disrupted it
Nice easy find. There is alot of work going on the other side of the fence, CO might have to keep an eye. TFTH
A quick find and enjoyed being out in part of the city that still has a bit of a rural feel to it. Tftc
Out with Ruru_nz while she had extra time in Chch. At first we thought it might have been guarded by the cat on a post but no
Safe and sound elsewhere but exposed
Safe and sound elsewhere but exposed
Spending the day with KCN on the was back up to Taranaki. What else to do but go caching...
Thought the cat might have been cache watching, but found the box further along.
This area looks like it's been recently weed whacked as it was sitting in the open, only camo I could find was a clump of grass roots.
Thanks for the smilie silverfern7.

Last of the series. A quick find here as cache is pretty exposed and no cover material available to hide it with. Tftc! Nice wee series.
Out for a walk after sitting in class at a Lions Training weekend. Had to wait while a learner driver tried to do a three point turn but did a seven point turn instead
Yes, there were a few locals pounding the footpath, but managed to sneak in and out. Quickly spotted the cache and watched the traffic speeding by. Tftc
My wife and I were over in New Zealand, tramping and touring around the South Island. We had a great time but sadly this was our last day, and we had to kill a few hours while we waited for our return flight back to Australia. To add to the sadness, it was also raining. Still - that's why they invented Geocaching!
We walked a big loop around the streets near our motel. Found them all and had a great time.
Nice little series.
Thanks for the cache, silverfern7

Finally after suggesting three other likely spots the GPS decided it would be here - and so it was. TFTC # 12,057
I was targeting the caches around avonhead today as there was a few of them including two with dates placed I didn't have. But I must remember that I am used to geocaching by car and today I have to walk everywhere, needless to say I'm tired!
Like plenty of others before us, we were heading out to the airport today and had time for a few caches, so we stopped here. Great little trail, TFTC
Heading out to the airport ahead of schedule. With my geocaching sister, we managed to locate five caches on the way, four of them being along this ‘trail’. Took a couple of minutes to find this one. #1674. TFTC.
Found with Dirtyhelmut on our last day in new zealand. On the way to the airport we stopped for some Geocaches. TFTC
Before leaving New Zealand Mel180 and me stopped on our way to the Airport for some quick Caches ! Thanks for them !
Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 6: Time to head home but of course we are going the long way to visit the church at Mt. Peel and the Canturbury CANZ cache before heading off to catch the plane.
Grabbing a final few caches before heading to the airport, thanks for the hide. Last hide of the trip!!
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.
This turned out to be the last find in our epic journey.

Quickly finishing the trail with #1.
This one seems a bit exposed but I guess if it's held on for three years, it's in a good place after all.
