A nice tidy cache on a surprisingly busy road. Heading into Glenside 'burn to facilitate a play date (Mama Taxi, at your service, ma'am!). Had to time my in and out and also 'took a call' or two in the interim. Left collector cards for the littlies. Cache in great, tidy condition. TFTC taybee

Out and about with Flowerydaze on a lovely Sunday afternoon, simple hide and Flowerydaze was soon onto it. A very busy road here and I was thankful to find a parking spot in someone's driveway fortunately we were not there long. TFTC taybee

What better activity for a lovely sunny Autumn day than to do a bit of geocaching. Talla64 and I came down from Kapiti with a list, and this was on the list. The traffic was manic, and with double yellow lines and a car right on Talla's tail, we decided to drive on and come back later. Fortunately Talla had noticed a little area to pull in a short distance away. It turned out to be someone's driveway! However, we were there a very short time as I dashed off to grab the cache. A quick find.An interesting history - thanks for bringing us here and telling us about the area taybee (and for the cache of course).

This evening I had agreed to meet up with a mate for a chat over a beer in Johnsonville. It's something we like to do every so often and I look forward to them even if it means braving the rush hour traffic to get there from Upper Hutt. I was expecting to have to drive down SH2 to Ngauranga Gorge, but surprisingly (for me) Google Maps was telling me that going over the Haywards and down SH1 was 2 minutes quicker. Even better than that was the opportunity to stop off to grab a cache or three along the way. This would be my last caching stop, having just grabbed a nearby challenge cache. Parking was not immediately available, but I improvised about 100m away and walked back to make my search. A very quick find here as the previous finder (from today) had left the cache exposed and upside down. I cannot say if they had found it in a similar state, but leaving it like this was not good. No issues with signing the log, and then I replaced it as it should be before heading off to meet my mate. Thank you for setting this one up, and encouraging me to explore.

Out for a jaunt to collect a few caches along SH1, or near to.

I think it took me longer to cross the road than it took to find a park, walk up the hill, sign the log , walk down the hill (realise I'd left my trusty water bottle at gz), return, collect water bottle, then make my way back to the carpark.
Felt like I should be signing the log twice after all that palava. TFTC

Today's an other dot-day so I have been scouting the map the last few days, deciding on what cache to get. Decided on this one. So I hopped on the train with my bike at Petone after work and got a ride to Wellington. Hopped off, then on to the Johnsonville train. Within 30 seconds of me sitting down it took off - nicely timed I thought. To Petone. Bugger! I thought. Actually, that was out loud. Back to Petone, catch another train, back to Wellington then make sure I got the right one and out to Johnsonville. I had bought a day pass ticket as it was about $5 cheaper than individual tickets. A lot cheaper, given the extra trips I made!!
Anyway, got to Petone and cycled out to here. Surprised I didn't get stopped by drivers to tell me that this bit of road only goes to the motorway so why was I cycling up it. Nice easy find. Seems familiar, too... Hello - I have already signed the log! Been here before but forgot to log it on line! So I signed the book again. Headed back via Churton Park to pick up a micro cache there. Holy Heck has Churton Park grown! Last time I was here - 30 years ago - it didn't have this many houses. It didn't have this many streets - it didn't have this many supermarkets!
Nice to see I am just as fit now as I was back then - cycling up the hill back into Johnsonville was easy. Then back on the train to Wellington and then out to Lower Hutt.

Haven driven past hundreds of times I finally walked to the cache. I knew exactly where it would be having found Glenside quite a while back. Log dry and in good condition. Yes crossing the road is for the quick or the dead, but the chip seal means you can hear the cars coming. TFTC

I decided the park and grab option wasn't for me so I found a safe place to leave my car and walk up from there. No hint had been offered but no hint was needed. All is good with the container and contents.

20-Sep-20
Struggled to find a safe parking nearby, so took a little walk with the geokids here. Luckily not very busy and cache was an easy find. Thanks for the walk and cache...

20-Sep-20
Found it but we didnt have a pen.

27-Feb-20
After getting the nearby challenge cache I realised I could pop up here and grab the cache before the next bus to johnsonville was due. Traffic wasn't too bad for crossing the road and the cache was quickly located. I covered it to protect it somewhat from any future rain.

30-Jul-19
In the early hours of this morning I went for a stroll... a great way to start the day. After being careful to avoid traffic I made my way to GZ on foot. Once there I made a nice quick find and also took a trackable. I will transfer it to me later today once I get back to my computer. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in it's spot all ready for the next hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so.

This is geo streak day #1075 in a row for me today. TFTC

27-Jul-19
Thankfully a nice quick find as there was a fair bit of traffic this evening. TFTC

23-Jul-19
A quick easy find
Until now I hadn't read the cache description or looked at it on the map so didn't realise about how it referred to something designating the area and wasn't on Glenside Road or Middleton Rd. This despite the fact that one of my own caches isn't far away though just in Churton Park but the same road as this cache!
Out of curiosity I had recently taken a brief wander along Glenside Rd which is a dead end, I guess originally it was the main road?

No problem with the cache other than the fact the Council doesn't seem to expect pedestrians here (there were a couple of them I passed) and I walked up from the nearest bus stop, fortunately it was possible to walk on the (damp) grass on the other side and cross over at GZ where it was safe enough.
No problem finding the cache.

Got me one of two items needed for the Mystery at the Museum though I am not particularly pursuing them!
TFTC.

Passed by this one many times. Today was the day to take a hike up the hill and once we rounded the corner there could only be one place for the cache and there it was. TFTC

On our way home and managed to pull over to grab this one. Popped a trackable in for a bit of fun.

Needed to find one cache today and this was it. Decided this was enough room to park off the road right at GZ, but only just! As others have said, the coords seemed a little out. Fortunately there wasn’t much searching to be done! A quick find. #2332. TFTC.

23-Sep-18
Like others, I parked down at the bottom of the hill and trekked up alongside the road. The hiding place was obvious as I got close, but it was a busy Sunday afternoon with lots of traffic, so to retrieve the container I had to crouch down behind the nearby bush and wait for gaps in the traffic. All good here, cache in excellent condition. TFTC.

10-Jul-18
Its the school holidays and I am heading home from work early to look after the kids while my wife goes to work in the afternoon. I started at 7am this morning and knocked off at midday.

I was looking for an easy cache to pick up on my way home from work. I didn't want to spend too much time searching. I had a look at the previous logs and saw that this one might be suitable. I parked nearby and took a short walk to GZ.

There were plenty of cars going past and I felt a bit exposed. However, I think I managed to extract the cache without attracting too much attention to myself.

The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry. I took the TB that was there and headed on my way.

Thank you

Cherrys Rule

Sometimes, all you have time for is a quick and easy cache - so thanks Taybee for one that was just that today! Dropped A TB to encourage the next visitor - cache in excellent condition today. TFTC

06-May-18
I'd driven past this cache before and considered my options for how to get here. Although it would be possible to stop on the grass verge (I guess) or in a driveway I elected for the non-lazy option and parked down the bottom. Although there's no footpath up the road there's a definiate trail where people obviously walk up and down here regularly. Indeed I passed a jogger who was coming down. The coords are a fair way off (maybe 8m?) but common sense took me to the right place first as I correctly chose not to believe the GPS. I was pleased to find that I wasn't in direct sight of the traffic - light as it was - at GZ so I found and signed the cache without any problem. Despite my initial trepidations this isn't a bad place for a cache (provided you're sensible about how you get here) so thanks for placing here.

#5377. Decided I would help Ross Taylor - NZ batting star to celebrate his birthday after that stunning batting display yesterday in the One Day International victory over England. So time to go grab a cache from the taybees. Managed to park very adjacent and had the cache in hand in seconds. So many cars coming past even at dusk. Signed the log as quickly as I could and had it all back in place within a few minutes. Thanks for the cache taybee.

22-Feb-18
Thanks for the nice easy cache. Was very short on time today and really needed to get a find, so this easy cache was perfect. Cache in good order, items were a bit soggy but log was dry.

Cache # 4,167 - found at 12:11 am this morning, as the weather forecast for everything after 1:00 am sounds dreadful. Fortunately staying nearby tonight, so it was a quick drive to the GZ, park in a nearby business driveway, and walk through the light drizzle to the cache. Easy find, grabbed the TB inside. LNSL. Took nothing, signed log.

FTF at 10.51am.

Luckily I was just finishing up some work in Granada North when the notification came through, so I threw my tools in the car and zoomed down to Glenside to investigate this new cache.

Arriving at the co-ordinates it was clear where the cache would be, and sure enough it was an instant find, and pleasingly a blank logbook.

Thanks very much indeed for the cache.

06-Feb-18
Easily found after the email notification came in. Came from lower hutt meet up with 3 others that were there before me.tftc

06-Feb-18
Not sure if I can claim a joint FTF on this one - I headed out the door as soon as I got the notification and headed straight for the area. When I arrived I saw that Mr-Mcgoo and Ethnz were already there but Ethnz was already holding the cache. Joined in on the signing and I replaced where I assumed it was (thinking it was the same as the similar cache near Tawa). bobcat105 turned up while we were having a mini-event (even had Yeetrees on the phone), and he went off to find it himself. After a while we broke up the party and went our separate ways. TFTC
