Logs
26/10/2024Replaced damaged & waterlogged container with heavier duty 90mm PVCTubing with screw cap
It was time for a morning explore and walk on the other side of the mountains. We enjoyed our time here in the valley. All caches were easy to find and the roads and tracks were clear of everyone - just how we like it. Thanks for the fun and adventure.
On holiday from Adelaide, SA. Falls looked great considering summer time. Added a pen to the cache. TFTC.
Found it with my 4 year old, there was no pen and I didn't have one to sign the log. Took trackable.
Quick find with Kellmik while in the area on an Easter caching trip. Nice stroll down to the falls... unfortunately they were dry. This would be a great spot to be after a rain storm.

What a great spot to spend some time, there is still a small amount of water running over the falls at the moment. We found the cache and saw that an animal or two had decided to make the container their food source. We placed a small sistema inside the existing container and took away a scented candle that may have been what had drawn them to the container. SL TFTC
Wow, WOw, WOW!! What a location. We were out and about today, looking around Halls Gap, getting out of the house.
There were tourists everywhere, the place was packed, however, out towards Burrong Falls we may as well been the only ones here on Earth, it was so quiet.
The recent rain has ensured that even in summer the falls had water going over them. A great little piece of Earth here. Quite honestly, we could have stayed here for hours.
Alas there was a cache to seek. My 10 year old daughter and my wife were the first to make the find. The container does need a bit of work (as noted by a previous cacher), but my goodness, the location.

I'd hunted for this last Sunday evening with no luck, but revisited today with my sister who was interested in locating some Prostanthera Spinosa (Spiny Mintbush), which I'd found there. After finding a bunch of Spiny Mintbush (it is everywhere here, and I'd battled quite a bit of it while hunting for the cache) and climbing down to the falls, I hunted around for the cache again. Turned out it was far closer to the path than I had been looking, and nowhere near as adventurous as quite a few places I'd checked.
Container is damaged - hole in side of container, hole in bag around log book and log book is quite damp.
Thanks for the cache, it's a nice place to visit. Even though lots of tourists in Halls Gap, no other visitors there both times. Would be interesting to see when it's flowing strongly.

Tftc found with PeteBev & TonCin. Container damaged & log damp. Great spot, definitely a favourite
#285! A really well hidden cache! Sadly it has been damaged and the container needs replacing! TFTC! Really nice walk and great falls!
No luck! Had a decent search, found what I was pretty certain was the formation mentioned, been a while since it had been logged so unsure, but looks everywhere close by!
Lovely view, nice hiding spot - needs a new container as animals seem to have broken in ️ TFTC
An awesome view and nice quick walk to GZ to start the cache day. Nice to see the fall flowing and grab some quick photos. Thanks for the cache!
A blue dnf face in Grampians really stands out for me given I only have about 20 left in the area. I remember searching and searching for this last time.
But seems we looked in the wrong spot! After a few minutes searching I checked behind, as opposed to under, and bingo, cache! Fantastic location. A FP from me.

Checked cache today still well hidden, just a few more teeth marks from the rodents
Searched for a while but couldn't find anything. Nice falls though, first time I've visited them.
Found today on an afternoon cruise from our house sit.
Made the short walk to GZ, where Mrs Juc made the find. We took the cache to sit and look at the waterfall while we signed and then we enjoyed the hidden gem for a while, before the dogs at home meant we needed to head off.
Thanks for the cache and for bringing us to this spot.

Find #351 @ 2:48:00 PM
With Sunday looking like the better of the 2 this weekend, a plan was made to head into the Black Ranges to try to finally find an unmapped cave that the locals have eluded to. Turned out my wingman was sick, so instead we headed over to the Gramps to check out the falls, and of course a couple caches. We made our way to Zummies and turned off, about 100m down the track a 100 series Landcruiser was coming in the opposite direction. Lo and behold, it was a mate of mine. His plans were to check out a couple tracks but hopes were dashed when he found the track closed. Luckily the track to Burrong Falls were all open. The drizzly rain subsided just as we parked the car. We made the short walk to the falls, and oh my was it flowing today! Made a quick find of the cache, signed the log and returned it to it's spot. Cache found dry and in good condition. Took some snaps and headed home. Track in from Zumsteins is easy, would have been doable in a 2WD with some ground clearance even in the drizzle.
TFTC & a great afternoon out, Hall of Fame

Found with DazzPete.
Day three of our Grampians stay, and we were heading off for another day in the 4wds. We all made the short stroll to the falls , which was still trickling over, where the cache was found after a short search and we all signed our lives away, then we went down to look at the falls a bit more closely for a fair while.
Thanks to Hall of Fame for another cool cache.

Another day in the Grampians and another location we've never been to before. Not much water flowing this late in the year but still a lovely place to visit.

Headed out with the 4WD Club to take in some of the tracks and grab some caches along the way. TFTC.
We were heading home today after a few days camping near Lake Hindmarsh and more recently at Rocklands Reservoir. Rather than head directly to Dunkeld (south) or Halls Gap before joining the rat race on the highways I wanted to poke around a couple of the less popular (for tourists) areas in the Grampians. First stop was Moora Moora Reservoir (and cache!) before heading to Boreang camping area. The Glenelg River road is still closed at this point (as it was when we last visited back in March) so we backtracked to Lodge Road before heading up Rose Creek Road and to this cache. I'm glad we did because it was a lovely location with plenty of water pouring down the waterfalls.

If Jamin & Jacko can't find it then I figured it's probably not to be found. Came anyway for a look & what a pretty waterfall this is.
Had a good search around however unfortunately a DNF. Given the amount of 'accidental finds' I'd say this one has been muggled.
If that's where the cache was placed it's not there now....
We had a good search around GZ but couldn't spot the container today.

Found during our more-than-three-years-long travels with no problem, very nice surroundings. First in Australia, one of our favourite countries!
Thank you for the cache and greetings from two Czechs!

found this cache by accident. Out for the day with team tomlins and stumbled accross this cache. Great spot off the beaten track.
Found this morning after a bit of dirt-road driving from Buandik campground. The falls were beautiful. GZ was very conspicuous, but I tucked everything away well when I was done. Cheers for this one!

Quick easy find. Didn't even need the gps as could see it straight from the track. tb dropped off
Like one or two other previous logs, I found this one totally by accident. I didn't even know there was a cache here. Me and Geo-wife were just out having a nice relaxing day visiting a few nice spots around the Grampians and on our way down to Burrong Falls, I just happened to notice this spot (GZ) and said to Geo-wife "that looks like it would be a good spot for a cache and low and behold...there was a cache hiding there!!! No GPS or IPhone! It just looked like a typical cache hiding spot.
I thought it may have belonged to my caching mate - Duntulum - but I see he had just re-visted it before me and that he was the first 'offical' entry to find it.
Thanks for the 'unexpected' cache!

Revisted on tour of local water falls after the good rains, good amount of water over Burrong Falls. Cache & log in excellent condition.
Finished our day's caching here at 4:25pm. Unfortunately no water going over the falls, but it's a nice spot nevertheless. Fortunately the walk in didn't strain our tired legs too much!

I can't believe I finally go caching in my absolute favouritist area and it has taken me this long to sit down and log them! Here's hoping scrappy field notes and an even scrappier memory are up to the job Been to these lovely falls many times and have probably darn near sat on top of the cache without having a clue it was there - but not this time - gotcha!!!!
AUSTRALIA DAY , 300th find at a lovely spot , little or no water going over the falls. TFTC
Stumbled across this one by accident when sight seeing. Was quiet confused when I looged on and couldn't find the cache on the website.
