I saw this on was disabled but as we were on the track doing the others, decided to check this one out. Got to GZ and could see that there has been new fencing done and GZ now on the other side of electric fence - slid under fence to GZ and made quick find of both old and new cache. Log was in new cache. Signed and replaced. Tftc.
Back out Mangawhai way, so wanted to make sure of at least a cache or two for the day. Headed off along the track late afternoon and soon reached the GZ area. With the good hint, the cache was soon located in the correct spot, but surprise, surprise, there were actually two neat caches, so I signed the log in both, just to be sure. TFTC
Seems this one was muggled, mint tin with log in the open, other containers lying in the opening to the cave but all seemed intact. All returned. TFTC.
I had to leap the electric fence to get to GZ. Nice caches but which was the right log to sign? Could do with a sort out. Tftc

A really good route. I loved overhanging trees. Sitting on their huge tribe over the sea waves is a nice experience. And here is beautiful stones look like as The Pancake Rocks . Plus that's a nice coffer. I send favorite point due to such a good place.
Thanks for the cache. In: - / Out: -

I've been meaning to do this walk since these caches were published, and even have a family bach nearby in Lang's Beach, so I don't really have an excuse why I haven't done these yet. Having no plans for this trail looked like just the ticket. Was quite surprised by how many people where doing this walk, though in hind-sight half of Auckland is up this way, however I didn't have any issues with muggles, apart from a few short breaks in the searching to let them past.
Headed to the far end to this cache as I'd find the others on the way back. A pretty neat hiding place and a well themed hide. Looks like a few muggles have found the bounty as well. Thanks for the hide.

LOVED this cache! Love it! Love it! Love it! plus the track is really interesting which is a bonus. Log is sodden and unfortunately I didn't have a spare log with me- i think its because were it was has an open crack above it allowing water to travel down and into the cache so i placed it more under the lip so it could dry. Like some of the others i signed a rock inside the cache.
Fav point from me

Nice quick find once we were at GZ. Great cache container. Well done! Log duly signed and replaced as found. TFTC.
What an excellent cache! We walked along the path from Waipo Cove Views cache. Beautiful scenery. TFTC
Last one along here for the day, back into the car and headed north. Ryan and Ally loved the camo on this one. Thanks for all these caches.
What an awesome cave & treasure! Luckily R5 had the coords as my phone & GPS weren't cooperating ( I now realise it was because my premium memberhsip had lapsed [:/] ) TFTC!
We planned a relaxing day, but finding caches was stronger!
It became a great walk, we loved every minute of it
The cork of the little bottle was too far in the bottle. We had to move it out. Maybe new cork in it?
Tftc, greets, Gio en China, the Netherlands

I think I left my walking pole leaning against a rock a few metres down hill from this cache. If the next visitor could have a look for me I'd be very grateful! Cheers

A bit further along the track and we came to this little spot, and where we would turn around and head back to the car parked at the other end of the walkway. A few walkers went past us here before we dived in and uncovered the smuggler's treasure. I was so blinded by the gold and trinkets that I think I left behind my walking pole here, so if anyone finds it (I think a few metres downhill from the smuggler's cave) it would be awesome if they could let me know! Anyway, another spot and cache that deserves a fave point. Joint {FTF} with slieschke. FTF #1710 TFTC!!!
