Found base, magnet and wet piece of note paper.
Doesn't look like this will be fixed as CO is inactive.

Found the remnants of the cache as only the base and magnet to be found. Needs maintenance. We have a photo should you need any evidence of whats left.
Found container but as per other posts everything is missing. Thanks for the cache. A warning for others the site has contaminated signs around so be careful
Found a magnetic key holder but unless I'm doing something wrong, it appears to need maintenance. Looks to me as if the top and contents are missing. TFTC
looks like it was once a scenic spot but not now. Signed on what remains of cache.
I didn't fancy digging around a contaminated area for the remains of a cache so gave it a miss.
Dnf w/ shahuhugrub, previous logs didn't sound too promising and rain wasn't ideal caching conditions around here.
out for the day after dropping school group in Whakatane and before picking up again later
Very confusing, GPS points one way description the other. Eventually spotted half a cache and found a log stuck between the magnet and what it was attached to. Needs some serious maintenance.

Great lil spozy even at water level still tok abit to notice. Happy seeking people
Gave up on this one, GPS was pointing to one side of the road but the description says no need to cross road if coming from Whakatane, Unfortunately this was a contradiction that I did not have the time or the heart to persue.
Found soggy paper last time I went south, date is a bit of a guess but close enough. TFTC
Nice easy find.... Explanation and hint were slightly misleading... Lid for container is no longer present and log is held between container and host. Beware if it is windy that the log doesn't go swimming
Cache no longer has a lid so needs some maintenance. Searched the bank in case lid had fallen down but couldn't find it. Replaced the log between magnet and bridge.
Little help from my little bro and we had the cache in hand quickly. Tftc
We may have looked on the wrong side of the bridge (left side as we came fom Whakatane.......no crossing road). Anyway we tried to have a good look from over near the gate (didn't fancy risking climbing down) and walked over bridge searching. Ah well, we will try again some day.
Found today, but at a price! I was in Rotorua today with a few hours to kill so I thought I would take a drive over to the Bay as I have never been over here before and I decided that this would be a great cache to grab while passing past. The first issue was that I didn't have a pen to fill in the log with so I thought I'd grab the cache, take a photo of the log with my phone and post that instead. Well..the first issue was that the creek beside me was fully in flood and while clinging onto the tree beside the bridge (which as the most revolting smelling, sticky sap all over it) to stop me from slipping into the flood waters...I dropped my phone onto the ground...which promptly slid into the creek. I managed to risk life and limb retrieving it from the dirty flood water and got covered in mud while doing so and now the phone is stuffed. I did manage to find the cache and had to laugh at myself in spite of the situation, the things we do for a smiley!!! If you're searching for this one when the creek is up in flood, BEWARE!!! Thanks for the cache, it has to get a fav point from me! [^]
On a trip over to Ohope to visit the olds, time enough to do the round of the local caches and even hide one. This one not where the GPS said it should be but in good order. Mission accomplished, this one is a wrap.TFTC! Blenheim Bear

We visited this cache during our trip through out New Zealand!
With our rental car, we explored the north island for 12 days.
NZ is a beautiful country and we really enjoyed our time here.
We hope to return one day and explore a little bit more!
Day 5 - Gisborne to Rotorua
The day started in Gisborne, where we explored a little bit of the city and looked for some caches. After that we visited many places along the route to Rotorua, mainly along road trough the Waioeka gorge and in the coast.
This one we didn't find
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Portugal.

Thought it would be a quick find from reading the clues, but doh, we were on the wrong side of the bridge. Must have interpreted the "you don't have to cross the road if coming from Whakatane" incorrectly. Great once we found it. Lots of muggles going past.

Been saving the closest to home cache for a rainy day, no rainy days left so decided to find it on the last day of 2015 instead, hopefully 2016 brings more time/enthusiasm for more cache finds/hides, 2015 was our lowest find total so it shouldn't be hard to top!!
Thanks for the hide, hopefully more locals join the game in 2016!!

In whakatane for the day so grabbed a few caches. This took us a wee while to locate as the hint was slightly inaccurate. A nice hide once we found it !! SLTFTC
Yip went down to water level n easily spotted. Just as well the grass was a bit trampled . TFTC
Today is International Earthcache Day so a plann was hatched some time ago for White Island in conjunction with Alpenmilch80. However due to weather cancellations it has now worked out (this is our fourth attempt) so now today we are finally going . Needless to say that this was going to be a very long but memorable day (left home at 3.20am, got home at 7.45pm). Our planned meet up time was 6am at the Mount for the adventure to begin.
So in the company with Sleschke we headed over for what was going to be a most memorable day out with good friends in a great and unique spot. we had the cache out and signed as SAC (our collective names).
After such a great day out at the island it was time to grab a final few on this side of Whakatane before heading back to the Mount. A quick search was extended and the cache was located not where we all expected it to be, but located none the less
thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

After spending an amazing time on White Island C&D, slieschke and I moved on to get some more geocaching done before heading home. Quick find. TFTC
Tparty found this one for us. It was not on concrete. I didn't take the money that was inside it.We had to wait for the cars to go past so we looked for eels in the dirty river. '
We talked to the troll and he quickly showed us the way. Grabbed in between traffic. TFTC
Another road trip! - unfortunately a sick call from KmanNZ meant it would only be KiwimikeBOP, my son Daniel and myself today. But it turned out to be a stunner with around 28 finds - A great day to be out and about.
This was our 12th stop and I was the spotter here After exhausting every hidey hole under the bridge the cache was soon found.
Cheers Stripes NZ

On another geocaching trip with Philip.Perry and his son Daniel, this time we hit Whakatane and Ohope. Was awesome to do a trip during the day and the weather really turned it on for us. Got to see some fantastic views and experience some really magical spots. Thank you to all the CO's of the caches we found today
Well this took longer than it should of, Having spent quite awhile looking under the bridge wasnt till I went up to have a look and I was pretty much on top of it when Philip spotted it from below.

Had a look on my way to visit family near by, but there was a lot of traffic at that time so I left it. Stopped by again on my way back & found it quite quickly this time. TFTC Stripes NZ
On our way to Gisborne for the weekend, stopping overnight in Whakatane on the way. Hoping to clean up a few caches around Whakatane while we are at it. This was another cache on our journey eastwards.
We took an interesting route to this one. Turned off the highway and Mr S said there is a road here my GPS says so. Mrs S said, I don't think so. But he was driving. So we drove along the canal track and when we reached the far end, turned left instead of right . Wrong. So we carried on and did the other cache up that way, then came back to do this one.
Mr S parked the Geomobile and went off to find the cache. Mrs S stayed and watched the horses across the road. Interesting because they were Heavy Horses. Reminded her of history lessons about the Charge of the Light Brigade, which was supposed to be the Heavy Horse Cavalry, not the Light Horse Brigade. Big difference. Did not realise Heavy Horses were still bred. AND they were BIG HEAVY HORSES. Would not like to face a big brigade of Heavy Horse thundering across the gap.
Thanks Stripes NZ. Another smilie on our Whakatane map.

We found the cache lying on some concrete/rocks ... replaced it where we think it may have fallen down from. TFTC.
Tricky to find but got there in the end. Feet got wet but didn't even need to be!!
Awesome hide! I went down and looked up for a few mins before spotting it and climbing up to sign it. TFTC.
In Whakatane for a few days visiting family, borrowed their car for a spot of caching around the place. Almost got wet, turns out I didn't even need to risk it TFTC (1772)
On a diversion on my way for baby sitting duties - Stopped for this one and started to look - yes I followed the geotrail expecting to have an easy find but no cache. Had quick read of logs and thanks to Squirrel I soon spotted it. Very busy road and bike trail TFTC
A tricky hiding spot but with 3 little sets of eyes checking every nook and cranny it didn't elude us for too long. Nice one. Thanks
4pm - Some caches are sent to try you and this one was no exception, but found it in the end. SLTFTC
New caches in Whakatane... Need those for a challenge we are working on. As it's the school holidays, a list was made of all the caches left in town... about a dozen. Next minute, five of them disappeared from the map (four archived and one disabled)... That's not good.
We tried to wing this without checking the description. After some time and a quick referral of our notes, it was spotted from below. TFTC.

On the way home from a great few days at Ohiwa, and thought I'd better keep the map clear and get these two new caches before heading home. Took a while to find this one as I missed it on the first pass. Once I exhausted all other spots came back to where I looked first and found it.
FTF and a Happy New Year
A fun social event!! We passed Freewilly who were parked at Awakeri along the way here, so on arrival we were quickly out of the car --- and had the cache in hand as they arrived. Lots of laughs and Happy New Year wishes and then we sped off to cache No 2!!
Thank you for the cache, a nice hide.

We were on our way to try out our new blow up boats and thought we would get these on the way . As dominic and aidan said we rolled up just as they found it. Always good to catch up with fellow cachers.tftc
We were on our way when we needed to stop and check our load. We hear a toot and sure enough it was D and A racing us to the cache never mind we had our turn yesterday tftc
