Really happy to find today. Up in Northland finding mainly the geo tour caches. heading back south and stopped here because my muggle partner has a friend living nearby. And time on hand to find some caches. Wind is pretty annoying and also tiring. Thought I should look in the most likely spot and there it was.

1431. 3:31 pm. We loved the approach to this geocache. Over and under and through the woods to geocache GZ we go! FP. Although the picnic area has become a minor ruin. Found with eKitten, GRAkiWi and Li0nPaw. TFT(adventure and the)C.

Roadtrip time, day 7.
I have used the Easter weekend combined with taking 4 days leave this week to get in a 9-day driving tour, hoping to get as far north as 90 mile beach in order to seek the recently published PWGT caches throughout Northland, as well as catch up with 4 different sets of friends.

I had spent last night at the campground in Waipu, and today was looking to head over to the west coast of Northland and then onto 90 Mile Beach. I didn't know it as I started my day, but by tonight I will only have gotten as far as Opononi after a very full days caching.

With a few caches available along this gnarly walkway, and the sunshine inviting me to take an easy stroll along it, how could I resist? The walkway, it has to be said, is not the easiest to navigate on foot. Lots of tree roots etc to trip the unwary, but the views along it are good.

Once at GZ, I initially wondered where I was supposed to be looking, but working with a combination of the Hint and using the "where would I place it?" approach I eventually found the cache some 17m away from where my GPS said GZ was. I'm not sure if my GPS was glitching or otherwise, as I had the same issue with two other caches along this track, but not with others. Weird!

Regardless, I encountered no issues with either the container or the log, which was swiftly signed before the whole lot was replaced exactly as found.

Thanks for setting up and maintaining this cache.

Due to the government ordered Covid-19 lockdown, I will be doing my bit to #slowthespread. From 11.59pm on Wednesday 25 March 2020, I will not be accepting any Found logs on any of my geocaches, until the Level 4 Alert is lifted.

AliGle and I spent the night near Waipu and today drove back to Auckland via the coast and did a few short walks and some caching along the way. Spotted the remnants of the picnic table and made a quick find of the cache here. TFTC!

Forgot to say, came by here early in the new year for the first time in a while and where there used to be a picnic table, now there isn’t. So the cache name and description make no sense, but it is still where I hid it thankfully.

06-Jan-19
Nice quick find. Hint and GPS spot in. Nice dry log duly signed. TFTC.

Was high tide so did not go along from Ding Bay. Took the main track in then back tracked to cache along the walkway extension. Once at GZ was a relatively quick find. Nice day but track was a little muddy and slippery in places. Tftc.

14-Sep-18
The weather was just right, so I took two days to go up to Waipu to get in some Geocaching. Also, I wanted to make sure all my camping gear was in order for next month's Mega in Wellington.
I was expecting a better formed picnic table. I looked in a few places, then circled around to the other side and found the cache the hard way. TFTC.

01-Apr-18
Headed up North with Jag50 and Merlot58 to stay in Pahi for the long weekend. On the third day we headed out to the Waipu area. Lovely little spot here. Found with help from previous log.

01-Apr-18
I was staying in Pahi with the Jags and Aiden29 for Easter so plans were made to collect as many caches as we could while we were up north. We found the co-ords a little out here but it might have just been the tree cover.

25-Jan-18
Out at Mangawhai for a while, so just had to make sure of at least one cache a day.
Headed off down the walkway late in the day and didn't take too long to get to GZ. Once there, the cache was quickly found, thanks to the good hint. TFTC

01-Dec-17
Struggled to find this one,GPS 8-10m out. Previous log with hint helped. TFTC.

#5378 - #1668

The night picnic was really interesting. The forest shrouded in the dark. All its inhabitants began to show on the silver webs in the light of the headlight. First we searched for the location where navigation was shown. But due to the dense vegetation it could be confused. Then we found a table behind the fallen tree and after a moment we found a cache. A spider guarded it, and because we had nothing to snack, we continued on.

Thanks for the cache.

Strážil ji pořádný pavouk a protože jsme neměli nic ke svačině, pokračovali jsme dál.

Díky za keš.

Nice walk!

I've been meaning to do this walk since these caches were published, and even have a family bach nearby in Lang's Beach, so I don't really have an excuse why I haven't done these yet. Having no plans for this trail looked like just the ticket. Was quite surprised by how many people where doing this walk, though in hind-sight half of Auckland is up this way, however I didn't have any issues with muggles, apart from a few short breaks in the searching to let them past.

This was the first one I went for as it was on another part of the track. Got to GZ and then realised why this cache is called what it is, and a quick hunt around revealed the tell tale's of a hide. Thanks for the placement.

4.30pm. Too late in the day for a picnic but never too late for a cache. Took a while to ide the well camoed thing. It may have been quicker if it hadn't been so dark. For those coming for the picnic it is a good idea to bring your own seats rather than rely on those provided.
Thank you. David.

18-Nov-15
Ryan was on a road trip up north and stopped off here to pick up this little set of 6 caches. This area was under development but didn't stop them stopping to find the cache. Thanks
