Heading home after doing most of the rail trail and decided to grab a few more caches while we could. Nice quick find, TFTC
TFTC. Thoroughly enjoying caching in this area and on the NRRT. Especially thankful that these caches are safe to find by having room for a car to pull over carefully.Logged as BG & SDW. A couple of cachers come to Murwillumbah for 3 days together trying to get as many smiley faces as possible in that time. Thankfully it is a very rich area of caches to pick from well done to the locals for placing and maintaining. The hiring of E-bikes start of trail was a great idea but even then we only got half way. Just means we have to come back again to finish it.Apologies for the generic postings all logs signed and replaced as found.
Family Connection - Quarry HillVisiting the Tweed LGA with chamad and geopup today to collect caches for a challenge. A quick find here, log signed, all replaced as found. TFTC Richmond Lad# 10134CheersWillis007
A lovely day in the area finding caches and this is one we found. All good here, log signed and replaced as found. Thanks Richmond Lad.
I headed out in the geo-car for a few caches today.Decided to hit a few along the wayI found your cache, Family Connection - Quarry Hill today. This is my 2481 find.Quick park and grab Richmond Lad, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
I found this cache as I headed home to Adelaide after the QOGM events around Longreach. The plan was to be away for about a month. I travelled up to Longreach via Broken Hill, Cunnamulla, Charleville and Barcaldine, camping and finding caches of interest along the way. I intend to head home via Brisbane and the NSW coast to Sydney, then across to Adelaide. However my plans are pretty loose and subject to change, often on a whim! The weather so far has been good, albeit a little warm at times. I am hoping it stays that way for the rest of the trip.I have had to be quite selective with the caches I have found as there are so many that I am passing. As a result I have mostly targeted non-traditional cache types, although I have also grabbed a few Trads opportunistically here and there. Thanks Richmond Lad for the cache, which has contributed to an interesting and enjoyable trip.
Staying in Coolie this week and today, I'm doing a geo-tour down the Tweed Valley Way and towns/villages nearby. Traffic is pretty busy on the main road so I'm only stopping for roadside caches where it's easy to pull up and park, like here where I made an easy find.
Thanks for placing this cache.

I was again on a solo mission today as my wife was hanging out with her school friends probably day drinking. Good luck to her because whilst it might be frowned upon there is an upside to day drinking. The upside is that if you can hold your nerve it turns into night drinking. tftc

Visiting from New Zealand for a family gathering in Byron Bay. Now off to Springbrook for a couple of night. Had enough time to stop for a few caches along the way. Cache all fine. Thanks for the smiley
Heading back home from having a lovely lunch in Tyalgum and grabbed these caches while they were conveniently on the same side... TFTC.
The new traffic division certainly seems to be making itself known. I’ve had no end of complaints about aggressive clamping.
Lots of traffic at this intersection so we had to time it right. Thanks for the cache

It was our last full day in the region, so we decided to further explore the Murwillumbah area after our brief trip yesterday. 25 finds and just the 1 DNF for a great day in good weather, with just a few light showers.
It was a bit of a family affair today, the whole family caching the Family Connection series.... Plenty of parking here, although the locals do scream through and onto the sideroads to the west, watch the kids.... TFTC!

Thanks for placing this series. Thoroughly enjoyed it on a Saturday out gathering.
My last cache on this detour today and I was disappointed there were no more. Thank you Richmond Lad for this string of Family Connection caches. We had a slight connection to this area as my parents lived at Mobbs Hill just close to here and we holidayed a couple of times with them and then moved in with them while we built our house on the Gold Coast. While living there our children went to the Stokers Siding School. We loved our time in this area. It's so truly beautiful. Thank you for bringing back many wonderful memories by bringing us here.
I was travelling from my parents in the Tweed Valley to Coffs Harbour for a work meeting. They had a medical appointment so after morning tea I was on the road by 11:30. I had three goals today - all of which were achieved. Get 12 caches to get me to 2000 (it is a game of numbers really); extend my caches further east; and finally get my maximum number of "counties" greater than 4 (I had calculated that I could get 6 today). Had a rough plan and got a few extra to add, so in the end got 16 caches of 3 types (plus a couple of unregistered DNFs) and got the 6 LGAs and arrived before dark. Not certain I will get any more in Coffs tomorrow, but also picked up a couple of TBS as well (always a nice bonus).
After scratching around for a long time at a mystery cache in Murwillumbah (not logged - certain it is there, just couldn't get my eye in) I started heading south. I learnt t drive on this road (see later log) when it was the Pacific Highway. However I don't reckon I have ever travelled down the Fernvale Road. Parked in the quarry, sauntered over and quickly found the cache - nice to have a few quick drive bys at the start of this day to get a milestone.

1Minniemoo, Nyssaflutterby, some munchkins and I set off on a roadtrip to Ballina for a weekend.
So funny to see a gravel pit here. NF gave it a quick visit then we located the cache.

A journey to Ballina for the weekend for NyssaFlutterby, Wombles&Co and I, with the obligatory stops along the way.
We remember our first gravel pit cache well. It was on our way back from Carnarvon Gorge last year, and ever since then we have had a bit of fun with these.
So imagine our merriment when this one sprang up along the route, especially when I had commented only about a week ago that we would be disappointed to not have any gravel pits for this road trip. Well it turns out I was wrong. And this one gets to be our first one south of the border.
A quick find made here today.
Thanks for the cache Richmond Lad.

Day Two of our caching from our base at the Murwillumbah showgrounds. Today we were impressed with the coastal scenery as well as the hinterland scenery which presented itself at every turn. We enjoyed finding this cache. After being introduced to the chocolate coated frozen banana yesterday we were on the lookout today and managed to get one at the place just up from the Fruit Platter cache. Nice. Thankyou Richmond Lad for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area
Back in Down Under for the next edition of SuCos Great Australian Roadtrip!
Heading from Sydney to Brisbane in a HippieCamper, what a great fun...
Driving north towards Gold Coast, we took a nice detour along this tourist drive to enjoy the scenery and stop for some caches. Nice drive!

Heading out for a grand tour of the Tweed Valley with joojoo57 as my chauffeur and guide. We set out from Tweed Heads, headed south to Murwillumbah, south again through Fernvale and Stokers Siding to Uki, north to Byangum and west to Tyalgum, collecting about 30 caches for me, and just 2 for joojoo
This series of caches were our main reason for the adventure today, as joojoo was keen to show me the places connected to her family. As I headed to GZ she warned me of ants, but there were none within cooee A quick find in the obvious spot. TFTC, Richmond Lad.

Another quick find on the way to the Gold Coast from Lismore. Looks like this quarry is still in use, some fresh tracks lead into the area. Thanks Richmond Lad!
On first arriving here there was a cycling event with police escorts and so I did the loop picked up the other three cachesand when I came back I was able to make a quick find. I enjoyed the family connections to the area.
