Logs
During our roadtrip through New Zealand I found this cache "Lee's trees. 1. Walnut (Nelson/Marlborough)" from capperz on 3 maart 2020 16:51.
Logbook is almost full but not fuller because I forgot a pen. I also notice the rubber ring to seal the container is broken.
Groetjes/Greetings and TFTC from a Dutchman (a long way from home, but home is here the heart is, on the bus).

I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Although the GPS indicated about 10m out, there was no doubt, with the hint, as to where the cache was. And, it was. Some more log paper will be needed soon. Got some info nearby for a multi another day.
Logbook is very nearly full, still a little room on it, although not the best paper (sorry didn't have some replacement paper with me but did bring the tweezers). And although the GPS I had sent me 10m out (it was a cloudy day), with the hint, there is no doubt where it is.
Once the day had cleared a little (it didn't last [xx(]) I set out for a spot of cyclocaching.
First stop was Ching Park. I wouldn't say it was a quick find as the rain had resumed. TFTC

Quick find this afternoon with eltee291. Nice park with some very impressive trees. Signed the log and replaced as found. Visiting from Victoria, BC, Canada. Thanks for the cache, capperz!
Found today with hingis20, crman1, and coastalmartinis. Have come frome Victoria, BC, Canada to visit with my daughter and her family in Blenheimand, of course take in some of the great geocaching here. Really great to be enjoying summer in January. TFTC
An impressive tree. We have a Walnut tree at our place in Golden Bay. Very tasty with Blue Cheese and Pears. TFTC
Not far from where GK was working, so we just had to find it. Found using the hint. We gathered and ate a few walnuts from underneath those magnificent trees while we were there. Thanks for showing us this area and for the smilie
Searched for 45 minutes before giving in and reading the hint. Total giveaway. TFTC though
We are keen geocachers on holiday from Tauranga gathering a few smileys as we go. Really enjoying our stroll around here. Cache is all good. TFTC
Searched around and it wasn't long before the cache was in our hands.

Jo and I hadn't done any caches for a couple of weeks, and just had half a dozen on the plan for today. And despite some pretty bad weather we got them. Thanks all COs for the caches.

After some planning Shannonp1 and I got sorted for a mission into areas we hadn't been. Up to Hanmer through the Molesworth to Blenheim, down the Wairau valley to St Arnaud down the Shannandoa to Murchison and then home via the Lewis. 209 caches for the weekend and a pretty high success rate. Thanks to all the cache owners especially Bum and Worker and sorry for the cut and paste.
So a few weeks in the planning phase, me and Surveybase finally got out and about for a mission. Through Hanmer, up the Molesworth to Blenheim, across through St Arnaud, Murchison and then home. 209 caches for the weekend and a pretty high success rate. Thanks to all the cache owners and sorry for the cut and paste. Cheers.
Out and about with Kiwimykl adding to my tally of local caches. Todays trip was through to Picton via the Port underwood Road, we had mixed success, getting 26 caches and recording 4 DNF/DNLs... it was probably not a good idea to do this on a long weekend as a few caches were located in highly populated holiday spots.
On the way back home now and this was one of the few of todays caches that Kiwimykl already had which could have been helpful to me but I didn't need his assistance for a QEF at GZ, although I thought it strange the tree that the cache was found by was not one of those fine specimens that this cache is all about.

A quick and easy find in the dark. Just arrived and had to stretch the legs / so just a few night caches. TFTC
#1541 Full log sheet will be passed to CO. EFTPOS receipt placed in cache.
Thanks for another South Island New Years Day smilie. All good at GZ.

We found this one in the last few hours of 2015. Easy to find with the hint. Thanks for the cache.
There are a lot of olde, imported trees scattered around Blenheim
All magnificent specimens too !!
It could be a bit dangerous standing under this tree without an umbrella when the nuts ripen

Making our way North towards home after the Christchurch Mega with tmann421.
A nice quick find for us here. Some pretty big trees around here!

[blue] We accidentally went on private property. It smelled bad down by the river. The GPS wouldn't stop playing up. Sorry for late log. Tftc.
[Purple] Another day in a row and another nice Marlborough evening. We had a look over at the river and there was a bad smell over there. I signed the last log space (although there is still a little space there), I didn't have a spare to replace for you sorry. I knew this park was here, I think I have been here once in the last 23 years I have lived here. Tftc
We decided another trip to Marlborough was warranted to "do" some multi's which we had been ignoring. In the end though we still ignored them and opted for mainly Traditionals with a few Mystery ones as well.
We thought we were going to have to DNF this one when we didn't find it in the expected spot, then we actually looked rather than just felt around. Thank you capperz.

The GPS was determined to lead us astray. We resorted to the hint and Holymu spotted the treasure. Thank you Capperz
I arrived at the park at the same time as a couple of muggles with a very yappy little dog which seemed determined to follow me so I went up over the bank and sat down to enjoy the lovely river and sunshine until they wandered off. Found with the help of the hint. TFTC

Had time to do a few around Blenheim before we head back home in the morning. Thought our plans were going to be rained on but it didn't come to much. Took a while to find this one, we weren't looking for the right sort of container but Mr S with his sharp eyes finally spotted it. Then the log fell out as we were trying to replace. took a bit of fiddling to get it together, but got there in the end. Difficult wee spot.
Thanks capperz. First smilie in Blenheim and one of the last on our SI mission.

Had to come down Budge street to pick up a few things from a nearby house - so good opportunity to continue the streak.... Had a look for this a while ago but the co-ords were out a bit and then I was rudely interrupted by muggles.
This time no one around - except maybe the muggles watching me from nearby windows.
Following the hint found the cache quickly - all signed and replaced quickly.

Over for the event followed by an afternoon of caching.
I seem to have made a find in this park before.

I think I've been to this park before but have I found this cache before? Nup. Cool. I can claim another smilie. Thanks!
Like several of the others before me I've been through here for caches in the past. Found in the first place we looked but not the first time! TFTC #6917
Over in the region for a day of caching around Marlborough. I had a great day over here. Weather was perfect. A big walk in the Wither Hills was on the cards today. After I finished my walk I had time for a few more caches before I had to head for home. This took a little time to find. Eventually found in the logical spot. TFTC, Biggles.
At last...found him. With confusing coords we had tried a couple of times to find this cache but completed the homework more diligently before setting off today. Paid off! tftc
Another Blenheim spot that seemed a bit familiar, I suspect there was an earlier cache here at some stage, but always great to re-visit such spots.

#918. Another park, another night, another of Lee's trees. Felt a bit weird wandering in here at night. No-one around luckily or you might get suspected of being a peeping tom with so many houses backing onto the park. I checked out several hint objects before spying the cache. Nicely placed. All dry inside. Signed and away. TFTC
Nice trees - we have an elderly friend living nearby who harvests walnuts here every year and sells them at a charity stall.
Waypoint a bit off, ours added here.

A fairly quick find, after which we gathered about 2 dozen walnuts, with a couple of other people doing the same. TFTC
After taking my truck for a WOF this afternoon, I decided to convert a couple of caches in the area of the testing station into smiley faces. This was the second of two after previously getting Opawa River Bridge.
This is another little park in Blenheim that I wasn't aware of, not that I frequent this part of town... wrong side of the tracks you know old chap, but like others have mentioned before me, what impressive Walnut trees.
As I have said in the past, I like the way this CO gives out good clues so that we don't need to look dodgy searching around for elusive caches. This was the same this time and the cache was in the first place I looked. The log was soon out, signed and replaced as found.
On the walk out I noticed a sign on the first Walnut tree (as you enter the park) saying it was a 'Tree of Significance'.

Time to remove my prior DNF from the caching map. Coordinates appear to have moved a bit from my last search area. The new cache and location was much better. They always are when I actually find them.
Thanks capperz for the cache.

Having a rest in town after 6 days on the trail through the Rianbow and Molsworth Roads.TFTC.
a double take as GPS lead to different spot.....checked coords, then hint, signed log. I now see the coord change.
Thanks for the fix, and find.

Out for a childless, husbandless cache hunt with Mrs PricelessNZ. WE GOT IT! Had made 2 previous attempts - Mr W had hunted while Mrs W sat with the kids in the car. Turns out it just needed 'girls eyes'! A quick find. TFTC.
We first found this park when caching - and Mrs Sobad was back today for the same reason - of course. She didn't find any nuts but was happy anyway as she did find a cache.
Thanks.
Thanks.
[green] Study has moved on to a heavy theory section, so it's time to cycle back into town for more flash cards, a study method that works very well for me. Today is also the start of a rash of dot days, so I picked out a couple of caches out this part of town. Zooming in - hey, I know these two! Yep, both by the same CO.
I was with the CO when he put in the replacement cache so I knew where to find it. Ker-Ching! Found it! Love these walnut trees!

Much better! So glad you came and replaced this one, capperz.....was happy to mark this one off. Found with coastalmartinis. TFTC
So glad this has a new placement and I could come back to log it. Found with crman1. Signed log as CM & CR1. TFTC
Had a good ol' look around - a Muggle-free spot today. Sadly not a cache to be found. As I submitted this log I noticed the CO had moved and replaced cache, I had old co-ords in GPS ... That explains it, we'll be back.

Have replaced and moved to a less mugglesome place. Should be all safe now. Hint updated.
Enjoy the trees, GO NUTS (in season of course)

Could not find this no matter what we did. 3 of us looking while the other two entertained the dog and kept a lookout for Muggles. Maybe it has gone walkabout?
