This year me and RobLigtenberg were lucky enough to spend almost 2 months in New-Zealand on a great holiday. We explored both islands and just like everyone else we loved it. Apart from all the major attractions (roturua, tongariro, abel tasman, the glaciers, the fjords and so much more) we also tried to do some caches in order to discover even more of the country.
After a few days in Auckland we picked up our campervan and headed north to explore ninety mile beach and cape Reigna. This cache was close to our camping and a perfect excuse for an evening stroll. Easy find.

During our nearly two month holiday in New Zealand we spend time on both the northern and southern island. Both islands happened to be very beautiful, each in its own way. Together with Ninagustein we searched for many caches, as we think it is a great way of discovering the country. Numerous caches get you to places you otherwise wouldn't have visited and it is also fun to find caches at touristic places. On this day we travelled northwards to the village op Apihara. After a visit of 90 Mile Beach we walked from the campsite through the village towards the bridge. The cache was easily found.

I guess this was supposed to be easy, but I was unable to find the cache today.
Another DNF in Ahipara. This should have been easy........ Maybe we are in desperate need of food after a surf session. Headed over to North Drift for lunch.
Spent three lovely nights in Ahipara enjoying the beach and the sea as well as driving up to Cape Reinga. This was a quick find just as I was leaving. Tftc
Field Log. Ausführliches Log folgt ein paar Wochen später.

Mein 13. Cache in Neuseeland!
Mein 10.

The first cache in New Zealand. I must login at home in Switzerland. It was great, TFTC
#10970. We had a decent drive ahead of us, but were keen to have a quick look at Ahipara (and a coffee) and it was just a short side trip to get there. TFTC.
Today we left Doubtless Bay after spending 6 enjoyable days here and took the scenic route to Whangarei - via Apihara, the Rawene ferry, Opononi, Kai Iwi lakes then Dargaville. A big day, so had to drive past caches, but a most interesting trip.
The cache was a quick find then we headed to the beach to have our first view of 90 Mile Beach. Lots of sand! After a quick walk on the beach, we had a good coffee at the local cafe. TFTC.

First cache of the day before taking advantage of the early morning low tide and heading up the beach to Cape Reinga. A quick find - signed log, TFTC
Was a little hard but found it. ..... left some money for the next person. .. don't spend it all at once xxxx
On our way to Cape Reinga we found this little one and met 2 other geocachers from the Netherlands.
There was a large makeshift campground on farmland, probably with permission, which overlooked GZ. There was also a van parked not too far away. I made my way to GZ and grabbed the cache as carefully as possible. As I left, the van was driving away and they waved to me, so I presume that was ClaiRob who also logged this cache today. TFTC.
Found on this Beatifull day together with Keeszoekt of the netherlands

Found it Cool cache didn't take long. Didn't have a pen, but took a photo on my iPod Touch, unfortunately that broke so I can't upload a photo. I did find it though, I promise. TFTC
On our day trip to Cape Reinga we did sand boarding and a few caches. Thank you very much. Best regards from Germany.

Walking along the beach there are only a few caches to find. Indeed this was the only one today. Thanks.
We spent one night in Ahipara. Before we continued our trip we found this cache! TFTC
Haven't been geocaching for a while so took the opportunity while staying at the Motor Camp at Ahipara for 3 nights. tftc
We had stayed at the Kiwi Holiday Park up the road for 2 nights (he is doing a good job of doing the place up so worth staying there). So we decided to find this cache this morning as before heading down to Auckland to drop off the Big RV and head home to South Australia after our 5 week holiday in New Zealand. Easy Find. TFTC
Was in the area for work...first time in this part of NZ.
Weather wasn't the best, but had some time to kill.
Picked up a path tag from the cache.

Found it during my trip from south of South Island to north of South Island.

Thankyou for bringing us to Ahipara, the best view of 90 mile Beach by far, tried them all the day before coming back from Cape Reinga, none were as good and rattled us badly on unsealed roads. The local cemetery was also of interest, we are used in UK to east west burials here its N/S to ease the travel of the spirit, thank Google for that! TFTC and have a favourite for bringing us to Ahipara.
