Logs
Was last in ParaWirra back in early 2020 (before COVID was a boy) on a rainy February day. Today we returned and took the geopoodles for an 11km loop through Parawirra, and even though there had been recent rains a few days ago, the place was as dry as a wooden god.Great weather today - sunny, still, but as cold as a witch's bum on a brass bench (it was 7 degrees at 5pm while walking out of the bush today)Wandered along this ridge track, which had stunning views either side, culminating in brilliant views at Devils Nose. Can highly recommend this walk. Then went down the hill and back up the main track to the carpark.Did the observations here at GZ. Answers have been submitted to the CO.
Answers have been sent via the message centre. This is an Earthcache that Ive been meaning to get to one of these days, but things suddenly moved quickly today when a new cache was published nearby and I tried for a FTF. Once that had been attended to, I continued along the track to here. Observations were made and some photos taken. Because of the time of day, I have approached this one from across the South Para. It would be nice to complete the track from the other direction. Great views from this ridge. Thanks for this Earthcache McKee Clan.
Great day out at Para Wirra, such a lovely park. Took a picnic and sat beside the lake, where we were visited by the locals.
Out for another Tuesday Trek, picked up the Rat then headed to Para Wirra to meet the Starfish. Into the park we went with quite a variety on the To Do Today list. A few hours later, after trekking up hill and down dale, all on the list in the interior of the park had been found. Then it was time for a nice lunch at the helipad. Not being worn out enough and with time in hand, it was off for more trekking to find the rest on the list. Finished an enjoyable day's caching with all on the To Do Today list having been found.
Have not done a lot of Earthcaches but this one was almost a necessity. Answers have been sent, and approved, maybe I'm not that bad at Earthcaches after all. I had thought that this was the last cache I had left to find in the Para Wirra Conservation Park but have just realised that it extends further north than I thought which will mean there's a virtual that I still need to complete for the full set. Sometime, hopefully soon.
Thanks to McKee Clan for putting out this cache for us to find.
Cache #13524 for me.

Today I joined S.A. Sewer Rats and Ttrogg for a Trekking through Para Wirra on a beautiful winter day with clear skies and temperature in the low twenties. There was a helluva lot of up and down along the tracks as well as some serious off track navigation as well We managed to find everyone we tried before stopping for lunch at the helipad. Once the legs had stopped aching what did we do - more trekking up hill and down dale to grab even more caches. More than 10 km walked today but it was worth it.
Another walk in the sunshine and answers sent to the CO. I am pretty useless at Earth caches and never score a bullseye with my answers. I hope my answers are somewhere around the mark, or at least on the same dart board.

A nice stroll up from the bottom and out at devils nose. Lichen galore.
Today I headed to para wirra for a walk to do the remains of the caches in the park. A nice walk in amongst the strong winds and overcast weather.
Thanks for the cache

A nice walk into this one. Although it was a surprisingly busy walking trail today. Had a close look at the rocks and answered the questions. I must be getting close to having found all the remaining McKee caches now...

Today with COVID-19 social isolation requirements in effect, jesswrigley and I headed out to Para Wirra Conservation Park for some walking and hiking. There were a fair few people making use of the outdoors, and the last time that we were here, I think we only saw one other vehicle around. We had a walk around the lake, followed by a walk up the MacBeth Track. We then took a short drive, and hiked along the Devils Nose Track to Devils Nose, where there was some great sandstone outcropping. It was then a walk back to the car via a small detour past *The Merchant's War*, which was a great cache. All up, a great day to be outside in the state's national parks!
I was expecting some great features at this EarthCache, given the number of awesome geological outcrops around the place that we had hiked past around here, and so perhaps due to those higher expectations, we were perhaps a little surprised to see it was just the usual rocks that were before us at GZ. It was another perspective of these I guess, that allowed us to stop, and study the rock surfaces. Once we collected the answers, they were messaged to the CO. Thanks for the EarthCache organisation here McKee Clan. Some great views along this ridge section!

Answers sent to CO and waiting reply. What a hiked area... Oh and the views.... So pleased this was not done in peak of summer... And REALLY glad I didn't take geopup... I often wonder how people find these places then in the next thought I ask why don't we find more places like this! TYFTC
Gathered my info whilst I was In the area.
Never tire of the views.

A great walk although damn cold. So good to get this one off the hit list - simply wonderful area I always love coming back to. My thanks to Hurtle for forcing me to come when it was so cold!
Interesting facts as always at this Earth cache. I did not lick the lichen.
Thanks to McKee Clan and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
The closest to home EC, and an enjoyable saunter across the ridgeline from Devils Nose to get here too. Felt like on top of the world the whole way!
Answers on their way.
Grabbed the Starman to come out here early today for a walk in the bush, to find some long published cache.

I would like to say it was a beautiful day for a walk and an earth cache. Wind, rain and no hail. Any day is a good day for a find. Answers sent. TFTC
Nice walk in the park with Jack.
Missed this last time I was in Para Wirra, so it was good to come back, the short way this time.
After some walking, arrived at some rocks.
There was lichen. I didn't lick it.
Made some notes on the pretty colours, and sent them in
Thanks for bringing us here McKee Clan , and thanks for another educational smiley

It's been a couple of years since we've been for a walk along here , so it was nice to be strolling along on a cool, clear day - enjoying the diversions around all the puddles .
Would not have noticed the lichen here, usually walking straight past - if not for caching . . . . .
Even gained some education along the way [^].
Thanks McKee Clan.

Great hike through the recreation area. Found GZ with ease and continued on to find a few more caches. Great theme and questions with this Earth Cache. Email sent Tftc!
I needed an earth cache for the souvenir, so I decided we would go for a walk to grab this one.
We have walked this track many times with the scouts.
Cheers and thanks for the Earth cache

I have been watching this earthcache for 15 days now.
15 days and it hasn't been loved!
Today was such a gorgeous day that I couldn;t just go hoem from work...I had to come out, pay my entry fee and literally go for a walk in the park [^]
What a fantastic walk! While the last couple of hundred metres were tricky for a klutz like me, I made it without falling over and what wonderul sights I saw all the way.
Kangaroos, emu tracks in the mud puddles from last night's rain, a marbled Gecko, currawongs and the views..oh the views [^]
All up, an easy 3km round trip and a lovely hike in the setting afternoon sun.
Made it out about 5 minutes before sunset, when the park gates get locked, apparently.
Thanks for a wonderful evening stroll, an information session on lichen and a *FTF* too
