18-Jul-20
I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February. Red Face
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat. Twisted
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again. Wink

Today I need a multi-cache to fill a calendar spot. Cool A newish multi in Mannum was my choice as Sal wanted to go for a drive and I like the Mannum Bakery!. Multi-cache done I saw I only have one cache left to do in Mannum and that involved a small levee walk. Perfect to work up an appetite before lunch. So off we set from the campsite. Only saw one other walker during our stroll but plenty of ducks and could hear plenty of frogs. Bit too cold for snakes though as i wandered through the scrub the last 10 metres or so to the cache. It was of course in the first obvious place I looked. Smile Dropped off a TB.

***Thanks Uncle Hagrid for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Big Grin

Camping near by and went for a walk on a cold windy day. After building up courage made a quick find. We hate long grass. T.F.TC

30-May-20
Still a bit fresh this morning as we made our way down to GZ Razz.
No wasps, flies, snakes or water to deal with today [8].

12-Oct-19
Wandered down from our camp site and took one look at the long grass and thought better of it. Too many snake encounters near river for us. May attempt another time when they are less active. Another fun adventure though, lots of bird life and a lovely walk. many thanks for placing this cache.

Went for a morning walk to finally find this one after all these years of going past in it!
A nice walk before getting too hot.
Has been wet and pages stuck together. Alas my supplies were back at the car, sorry. If next to come can bring a new logbook and baggie, I am sure it would be appreciated by the CO.
TNLNSL
Thanks

After my run in with the wasps here a couple years ago I finally came back today. Thankfully no wasps today. Instead there were hundreds of flies. At least I found the cache this time...

That was extremely cobwebby! Quite challenging, that one. The cache was half-filled with water so we emptied it but the contents are still wet. The Tough Paper is holding up well. Tftc.

Looks like the water is low enough.

01-Apr-17
Found by Mary & David at 1630. Water birds everywhere. Continued along the levee and happy to find that this one is now accessible and no wet feet. However, had to empty a fair bit of water from the container. The contents are wet; The log, being of special paper, is still useable but it feels slimy to the touch. Able to make our mark, but the ink spreads a bit. Could do with some drying out. Our thanks to Uncle Hagrid.

26-Mar-17
The water is a little lower. Ill visit it soon and check.

04-Dec-16
The water is still high.

10-Oct-16

The water is too high to get to this one. Ill keep an eye on it and check when the level drops.

Had just been for a drive grabbing a few close caches and decided I would do the levee walk before coming back to the caravan park. Big Grin
Continued my walk to this one and the further along I walked the more water there was. Surprised
Arrived close to GZ and walked as far as I could go which was to within 5 metres. [?]
You certainly would need waders here as the water is quite high and surrounding GZ. I imagine if this cache is hidden down low it may possibly be gone, but I couldn't get near it today. Sad
Thanks for the nice walk though Uncle Hagrid. Smile

Found the second time around. It was an interesting walk along the levee today as we sidestepped the many branches that had come down in yesterdays wind storm. Cache is in good condition with no sign of wasps today. SL TFTC

Found the area but too many wasps

25-Feb-16
A nice walk on the levee. Saw a few carps frolicking in the billabongs next to the river. No snakes seen at GZ and wasps didn't SEEM to be around, UNTIL I had the cache in my hand. Then it was PAIN... Dropped the cache and ran away. Collected my thoughts on top of the levee. Needed to go back, retrieve my walking stick, sign and replace the cache which I manged to do in great haste. Felt three places where I had been stung. Later at home it turned out to be 8 according to geowife. 24 hours later still irritable areas. There are definitely wasps close to the cache even if you can't see any so TAKE CARE. Thanks Uncle Hagrid.

**Watch out for Wasps!!!!**

After a nice little walk to GZ I picked up a bit of bark. Under that bit of bark there happened to be several hundred wasps. Needless to say, I quickly ran away! Somehow I only got stung once - after a trip to the hospital all was ok with just a bit of swelling. The annoying part of the whole saga though was that I didn't get to find the cache!

Having read the hint before I left the camp, I had decided to carry gloves for this one. Deciding and doing are two different things and I was a little concerned about spiders. As I approached the GZ they were the least of my worries. There?! Snakes?! Luckily there were none around this evening, maybe it had been too hot for them today. Once at GZ it was an easy find, and once signing duties were completed and cache returned to its hidey hole, I scampered away as fast as I could. Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches which add so much more interest to our travels. TNLN SL

It was a lovely peaceful walk with geodog, Mandy along the levee. Lots of bird life. The Murray Princess paddled by. The cache is a good size. The logbook was getting a little damp (still ok though) so placed it in a plastic bag. If the water rises too much more it could be in a bit of trouble. TFTC

Furrangel and myself were in the area and noticed there was a cache in the area we had not done..

We did this walk not long after some rain... it was quite amusing falling in to little quick sand holes along the walk... we came back with more mud on our shoes than on the ground...

Wonderful walk though....

Thanks Uncle Hagrid for the walk and the cache Very Happy

FTF!!!! Wahoo
So do one last check of the emails before bed last night and what to do? A new cache has been published! Geo kids in bed, geo hubby is still awake...but who gets to go??
Decided to wait till morning.
In the morning I jump out of bed pop shoes on organize the geo hubby and kids and off we go....1.5kms to GZ. Geo hubby and I are trying to beat each other to the elusive FTF
Geo kids are strolling ahead slightly, geo hubby is concentrating for two secs on kids when I see the likely spot. Step off the path and sink slightly in the softer ground, losing my balance and landing flat on the ground. Hubby wakes up to what is going on and makes a lunge for the cache but wahoo I reach it first.
After all the excitement of an early morning stroll before breakfast look down and realize I was caching in my pyjamas!!! Oh well home for breakfast now with my FTF under my belt
