A drive from Bega to Jindabyne today. Lots of country roads with great views and nice little towns. Also a cracker of a day with sun and blue skies. Love some crafty work

on our way from the mountains to the coast. Beautiful little spot on a sunny day
Came back for round two now that this cache is restored. The camo is certainly deceiving but it was a nice, quick find. TFTC
Looks like the fires claimed another victim found the remnants. Will craft another shortly.
Fourth DNF now for this cache. It’s either stolen by muggles or lost in the recent bushfires.
Had a good search but no luck. As this is the third dnf in a row, I think it’s likely been muggled. Too bad
First time caching and we had so much fun and it was in a place you “wooodn’t” expect
My first find in the area after driving up from Bambola. A good hide but no matter how much effort a CO goes to you can't stop water from finding and this was no different. the container is enclosed the lid was on tight and still there was some moister in it. the log was dampish but OK to sign. TFTC.
Great cache, great location, gave this one our first favourite! Even indulged my passion for haunted buildings!
Trouvé après avoir découvert un bel endroit en forêt ! Geocache bien cachée, belle astuce !
Great hiding spot, very clever! Notebook is getting a little damp, so might need some maintenance. Thanks for the cache! Adam & Kahlia.
What a lovely spot! Stayed here a while. Should have brought my tent. Found cache. Excellent camo. A big fat lizard thought the same. Had to gently evict him so I could replace it all without squashing him. TFTC.
Great camping spot secluded from the world.
We have this a fav tick for the clever hide and location.
Many thanks for the challenge.

When Darksidedan suggested a 5 Event haul over the New Year’s Eve -Day period, the challenge was on and the idea hatched for a 7 Event haul instead. What a crazy world we live in. So with 2 co-drivers, Darksidedan and Joolay we set out from Canberra at 8:30 to travel to Bermagui for the CITO.
My humble apologies to ZimbaW for our untimely arrival and departure at that Event as we became distracted by all the caches in Nimmitabel and Bemboka. Some were very easy and quick to find but others caused more anxt as they took up what we later realised was precious time that we didn’t really have if we were to be back in Canberra for AngelG27’s bbq Event.
What fun it was to catch up with so many friends there – many of whom had travelled long distances . Great to see you Wazza9 and Nana Nel! After bidding them all farewell, we headed north, stopping along the way to fuel up - both the car and ourselves.
It wasn’t long before we were in Moss Vale ready for Throsbyonchurch’s event. We were, for a change, slightly early. We decided to grab 2 more traditional caches – Whytes Tailoring Department and Henderson where we encountered a juvenile fox who wasn’t very happy with our intrusion. At the event there was a good turn up of friendly faces and we had a chance to relax and chat here for the first time as our next commitment was only 15 minutes up the road.
So it was that we arrived in Bowral. We wanted to do the Earth cache, but numerous muggles made that impossible. We met up with the contingent of fellow cachers who had also travelled from Moss Vale but our numbers had now increased to include some from the coast. To our delight many of us were able to claim a multi here despite the muggles, thanks to a fair bit of help.
The 3 of us were starting to fade by now, but it’s not far on to Mittagong. Once in the town I decided that Alice, aka my car Nuivi, must have been rather weary too, as she wanted to keep taking us where there were no roads! We eventually found our way in to the GZ which was quite close to a Puzzle cache I had solved in preparation for this excursion. After signing its log we wandered across to our final event for the evening but our first of 2018. What a great time we had! After lighting up numerous sparklers to welcome in the New Year, we again had time to chat before heading off to our motel for a very welcome sleep.
Many thanks to all the COs for placing these caches which helped us to enjoy the most remarkable trip. And to my 2 co-drivers a huge thank you for all the fun, laughs and adventures along the way. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring!
Apologies for my generic log.

We encountered the Guardian of the Gate but he was satisfied with our password & let us through to find the cache. This one really is a favourite of ours & happily give it Fav points. Pity the site isn't better maintained as it looks the perfect place to bring the Geo Grandkids. We found some moisture in the container & the log book was a bit damp so we emptied it all out & dried it as much as we could with tissues. We replaced everything in new plastic bags & hope this keeps things dry. We replaced the container so that the cache is upright so this should keep water out. Bet there aren't too many muggles finding this one. Good job DGH. Kutgw
A glorious autumn afternoon in bemboka. Bit too cool for a swim but would be an awesome spot on a hot summer day. TFTC
Nokmeister was here, and now I've been there too! Had lunch at the Pie Shop before walking round the River Reserve finding the six caches hidden there. A nice break in the journey. TFTC dghoffy
I spent the weekend camping at Mimosa Rocks National Park and sought out geocaches on the way down and the way back to Canberra. This cache was a straightforward find on the journey to the coast, but what a hiding place for a cache - imaginative and effective camouflage! Thank you dghoffy for installing and maintaining this cache.
I believe this is our very first dghoffy find! With many more to come this weekend
Good first impression, I have heard many good things about your crafty hides!
This is very close to private property and in the open, there was someone in the distance but I managed to sneakily grab it unseen
Thanks for the cache, interesting location!

The area for this looked very familiar we had obviously found the previous one too. Log very damp but container in good condition. TFTC JenneG and Budgy
On our way back to Canberra we had a bit of spare time, so thought we'd grab some caches. This one was a nice easy find, and what a great idea! Log and contents are slightly damp - have that mouldy smell. Might need a clean out and new log soon. TFTC.
Found at 3:05:00 PM
Soooo many time I have driven past here without being able to collect it because I was towing a caravan. Today I was unencumbered and so made the trip into a familiar spot. I was ere.
Thanks dghoffy

#4341 - 10:20; I was on the way to the coast with fitzy_65 and mtrax to give the SST and BFH series a run. We had stopped for a couple of caches in Nimmitabel, along with a pie and a coffee at the local bakery before hitting the road again. A quick stop at the lookout for me to collect another cache, then on to Bemboka for a couple more. A nice quick find and sign on a well constructed cache. TFTC dghoffy
10694. Found on a weekend run down the coast with mtrax and LuckyL10n to do the SST and BFH series and any other caches in between !
Left Canberra quite early for our run down to the Bega & Bermagui regions. This was the next stop for the trip. I found the previous cache back on 30 Dec 2012 and enjoyed coming back for another cache ! LL jumped out and did the honours with this one. Log signed, cache replaced, and we were on our way to the next one.
My thanks to my trip companions and all the cache owners for a great weekend !!
Thanks dghoffy !! Yes - a nice area !

Heading back home after a lightening quick trip to the coast. I'm the designated driver and in return I get to stop for a cache or two on the way. I remember looking for this one a couple of years ago when I was a green geocacher. I got spooked by a passing ute and fled last time. This time I spent a bit of time wandering round and checking out the beautiful river. It is still a bit spooky though as the various bits of furniture, BBQ etc like someone has abandoned in a hurry with echoes of the Mary Celeste. TFTC dghoffy Loved the camo, I'm sure it will be safe for a while.

Today's journey was from Jindabyne to Bermagui. There weren't many along the way until I hit the Princes Hwy (apart from in Cooma), so I tried for most of them. This place has seen better days - it looks like it needs a lot of TLC. But it is a beautiful spot and I can imagine how nice it would be on a hot day. The cache was found nice and quickly.
My thanks to dghoffy for the cache.

Yep, have found a cache here before, and yep - a lovely spot! Nice hide, so favourite from me! Thanks DGH!
Heading towards Bega, we have made an overnight stop at Bemboka grounds.
Amongst todays caches we thought we would reach our 17,000 find.
A great day of driving with a wonderful chane of scenery.
A great cache here, I was attacked by the barbe wire while getting it.
Thanks for placing this cache dghoffy

With the warm weather still around a plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to head off again on another adventure. We got an early mark from work and headed off on Friday afternoon and made Bega our base for the couple of days. Thanks RW for another fun weekend away.
Apologies for the generic log, we had a cracker of a time around this area. On our drive down we collected many different caches and a storm kept us company as we approached Cooma. It was a bit hair raising for a couple of collections due to the light and sound show. But we all came away unscathed.

Plans were put into place to spend the Canberra Day long weekend down at Bega collecting some caches with FurfacesLL. We cached along the way and picked up a fair few across the whole weekend.
We set off on the Friday afternoon and checked into Bega that evening, where we then continued our caching weekend. We found a variety of cache hides which made the weekend great some were quick to locate, others took a litte more time. Great scenery and awesome company definately makes the weekend adventures heaps of fun.
We both got a bit of a fright on this one as it seems 2 large huntsmen have moved in. YUCK!! [:(!][xx(][:(!] not a fan of them at all..... Log was eventually signed and FFLL was having a nice laugh at me freaking out trying to replace the cache.
Thanks dghoffy for the placement of this cache, we had a great weekend [^] Thanks for the company FFLL, had a great time as always

TNLN - but I did replace plastic bag for log, although a larger bag it's better to have a "dry log!" Thanks for your efforts once again on this cache
Beware of spiders!!
Beware of spiders!!
Not sure who Noikmeister is, but he had left a very well constructed cache. We drove down the track, while the rain was drizzling, then found the cache, signed the log and returned back to the bitumen.
With WIckedfysh and grandaughter. Clever camo. Flies were very bad but nice swimming hole nearby. TFTC
Geo partner spotted it straight away and said to me go look at it !!!so i pushed it over and said narr thats not it !! She checked her phone went back to where i looked rolled it over and said it is the cache i just didn't look hard enough LOL
Out on a long adventure with Team Boeing737, mtrax and StrangeTrousers. Sorry for the generic and late logs. It was a spectacular day geocaching, finding a total of 46 caches, stretching all the way from Bredbo to Tathra (and back home to Canberra again), with B737 doing ALL the driving. This whole stretch was a part of Australia I hadn't visited before so there was definitely adventures to behold for me. Lots and lots of caches found, spotted my first giant wedge tailed eagle and was even able to wiggle my toes in the sand for a few minutes. We stopped at B737's lovely holiday home in Bega for lunch around mid day, before heading out again to find a ton more caches. I appreciated the variety of hides throughout the day, and the interesting places the caches brought us to. I definitely need to come back and explore the area some more. Thank you B737 for all the driving and organising this adventure and for the laughs and enjoyable company of Team mcBoeingStrangetrax! TFTC dghoffy!

#1507 8 of 46 today.
A long anticipated trip down to Bega and surrounds to tackle some of the SST caches that I've heard so much about. Today I was accompanied by Mtrax (happy 10,000th find Paul) mcktcj & B737. It was an early start after a busy week for me. I had a work deadline for Monday and only completed the task at 22:20 last night. So it was great to drop tools and get away for a day. It was cool & clear as we headed out of Canberra until we hit the top of Brown Mtn where the fog started to close in. This was quite a surprise for us & we wondered what it would be like lower down. Anyway, it was mostly grey with the odd patch of sunshine. We spotted quite a variety of (alive) wildlife over the course of the day including a magnificent wedge-tailed eagle just sitting on fence post as we passed. Also saw: at least 1 snake, wombat, an emu, several hawks, pelicans, ducks, echidnas, lizards, kangaroos & wallabies as well at the usual assortment of farm animals. Thanks for mcktcj for the delicious lunch enjoyed at B737's holiday house and thanks to B737 for the long drive. A very enjoyable day.
Apologies for the generic caches, I can't remember details of all the finds today & my GPSr kept crashing.
A well disguised cache somewhat out of the way.
Thanks for the cache dghoffy.

Very good. Thanks. A good little one to do with the kids in the school holidays. Good to see a nice little part of bemboka now that I've been coming here more and more over the last couple years. With gum blossom.
A quick detour on our way home, after participating in the first parkrun in Bega earlier today. Could hardly pass this one up once I saw the name! And definitely wasn't disappointed. Wandered down to the confluence which was most interesting with the unusual picnic table and swing - plus of course the water. Back at GZ we were approached by a herd of inquisitive and friendly calves, who were very impressed with the cache hide, albeit I think they were hoping for something to eat! TFTC - and a great photo op.
Out with Just a cacher for a run to the coast. We just couldn't resist a few extra caches on the way.
Black Bunny and I did a run to the coast this weekend, and we found scores of caches. My memory is poor and patchy, so individual logs are beyond me, mostly. For that, I apologise in advance. We enjoyed our weekend of caching very much, and we do appreciate all the effort and expense put in by the owners of the caches, especially those of the SST series. Thank you all!
Found on our 2015 Merimbula trip. After leaving Canberra for the weekend, we weren't expecting to find a cache that was associated with a Canberra cacher! We found the original cache here nearby a while ago, but it was nice to come back again. After driving out of town a little bit, it was a quick find at GZ. Such an awesome container that would have taken a while to construct. TNLNSL. TFTC dghoffy!
Narooma 2015 June. Today was about getting a few caches I missed last year on a trip with SDL. This is a great spot and getting both the caches has been a bit of a bonus !
Thanks.

Caused a bit of confusion as we still had the old cache on the GPS also. This one was a quick find. Clever container! No muggles about today. Thanks dghoffy
Nice easy find with jetfuselage on our lightning quick day trip to the sapphire coast. Great hide!! The loud buzz from the distant electricity pole is a worry though! TFTC dghoffy

I'd found the previous cache here with TaurusSix. We were back and found the newer cache. The 'door' was quite difficult to open and close, but otherwise the cache was good.
3967. Found with Relish64 while heading back to Canberra after a great weekend at Merimbula and with heaps of great caches. We stopped here after taking a small detour looking at some bridges. After seeing a few snakes on the road, GZ was approached with lots of caution. Nothing spotted except another well crafted hide and an echidna down near Noikmeister's old hiding spot.
