Unfortunately we couldnt find it at what was clearly the GZ. Wonder if its worth the cache owner checking in on it? Thanks
Found it 2 days ago. Offline as well, so I looked at where it was and the name and spotted it quite easily. #55
We are up to the roped-off area where logging is taking place. Cool to watch from afar and saw some other bikers here so we followed them. M knew just where to look for the cache.
Out for a walk. Sat down and thought to myself I wonder if there's a cache here. Low and behold

Nice one, can be taken discreetly even with muggles nearby, as there is a convenient rock to sit on provided. Sit down and then just casually reach for the container
A bit of an intersection of tracks here! I biked on direct to the Old Stumpy #2 from here but then returned via the bike trail, to go back to my starting point on Miners Bank Rd.
Kia ora! Paldies!
Thanks for the cache, Team_Gaters!

Took the youngest for a quick lap of the 10km circuit! We were only going to have a couple of stops but 3hrs and 11 caches later we had ended up collecting most of them.
Out for a bike ride so came here. ON the positive notes: found every cache looked for, never fell off my bike, wasn't eaten by a bear.
A dejavu cache, beautiful view of the trees, are they Poplars? Anyone know what kind? Ta
Found with NZDi. It is Waitangi Weekend and NZDi decides she wants to spend a few days in Christchurch to do some retail therapy. A couple of our grandchildren have birthdays coming up and she can't find anything suitable in the local stores in Blenheim and is hoping the big city has a better selection. The plan is to travel south on Friday caching along SH 1, do the shopping on Saturday morning and cache out at the McLeans Island MTB park in the afternoon, then head home on Sunday with a detour to cache the K2R- Passchendaele Memorial Path between Kaiapoi and Rangiora (I guess that is what K2R stands for). Throughout the weekend we dated and signed our logs in full, as KM + ND or a combination of both depending on the room available on the sheet/book.
Today is day two of the trip and a continuation of a visit we made to the area just before the country went into Level 4 Lockdown in March 2020 when we cached the horse riding area on foot. This time we came prepared with our MTBs and a plan which included getting 22 caches (18 traditionals and 4 puzzles) in and adjacent to the mountain bike tracks. I don't usually do full copy and paste logs when geocaching, but this time I am going to make an exception because all of the caches we found today were pretty much the same and when doing a power trail or similar cache run like this one cache runs into the next and it is really hard to write something special about each. As for the four puzzle caches, I was almost going to bypass them when planning todays adventure but decided to look at them anyway. 20 minutes later I had all four solved and their final coordinates altered on their respective cache pages, which is probably how things should go in a situation like this and a special thanks goes to the CO's of those caches for not making the puzzles too hard. Another thing I need to say, is that it is all fine sitting at your desk, looking at the map and deciding in what order you are going to get the caches. But as a hint to others reading this log, who are planning to do the same thing, try and find a specific map of the MTB tracks showing the direction they go as the wheels fell off our plan when we hit the first 'Wrong Way' sign about 2/3rds of the way through. It wasn't too much of a problem as the caches planned as No.s 12 to 17 were just reversed 17 to 12 and we just had to change the direction we approached No. 19 from. All-in-all I doubt if it lengthened our route by more than 100m all up.
Thank you to all the CO's for placing and maintaining your caches, I estimate all up it probably took us about four and a half hours and we achieved our aim with no DNF's needing to be logged.
This was our final find of the MTB track of the day, and was one I could have done on the ride back to the car at lunch time, but there were a family of five deciding on where to go next at the time. A similar name cache, with a similar hide and a similar result.

Mr EU was keen for a bike ride. Mrs EU thought it would be nice to take our time and stop occasionally! TFTC
Taking a spin around McLeans Island & picking up a few caches along the way. Found this exactly where I expected it to be. TFTC
A very quick find here today on a tour of a corner of McLeans Forest. TFTC!
I'm visiting from Nelson for a few weeks, this is my second ride at McLeans. Today's focus was on getting 2 laps done, 32km. So I only stopped for a few caches that were near obvious landmarks/intersections.
This was a good excuse for a drink stop and leg stretch, thanks.

Very useful information panel, especially for a first time in the park. As we checked our track and where to go, a little cacher found the cache. Both container and logbook are in good condition. Thanks for the cache !
Nice one. Easy to know where to stop and a quick find. The perfect biking cache for not frustrating your fellow riders!
Quick and easy find given very little in the way of magnetic options in the area. TFTC
18th cache in a 24 caches in 24hrs attempt.

Another simple find, all good here.
My last day in Christchurch and finally I get to take the bike for a spin!
I was out this way yesterday walking the dog, but today it is a different story.
So I made an early trip out here to do the groundwork for the Wherigo before finding these bike caches. And it was heaps of fun.
I like this track, with its long sweeping cambers and lack of tree roots it is a pleasure to ride. A few times I powered up but for the most part I kept it in check and kept an eye out for faster peddlers behind me. The tracks are well marked and all caches were grabbed with no backtracking. And there are some pretty good caches around here.
Following the bike park I did a few further down the road and mostly along the river stopbank before starting the trip home with a slight detour into Kaiapoi. Thanks all COs, no issues with any caches, all 34 today found and in good shape so thanks for maintaining and sorry for the cut and paste.

Being school holidays and a stunning sunny day me and my youngest lad decided to ride the trail and on the way past we stopped off and found your cache with good co-ordinates and condition. Thanks Team_Gaters

Nice easy find on a great day out on the mt bike. So many muggles about on this absolutely beautiful day and a Father’s Day treat for me. TFTH
Had a lovely walk through the forest today with Pagenz, our host for the weekend and her dog. Great place for a cache and a nice convenient rock to have a rest before heading off to the car. TFTC
Had been far too long since I had a full day of caching, so contacted Mr Cuddly Brick and sorted ourselves out for a day on the bikes.
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
First time on bike here. Nice tracks and no other people around at Saturday evening. TFTC.
Quick easy find on a nice Friday evening ride. Was quiet when I started but very busy by the time I was back to the car park. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining the cache.
Mias 6 had found this before i had even arrived at gz. Lovely quiet day at the park today so no one to see us qickly aign the log book. Tftc!
TFTC. Out for a wander with flobberworm!
Thanks Team_Gaters for placing the cache.

We were here. Out on a bike ride with the kids. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent aka TB (prev known as BJ25). Find # 1749
Lovely Sunday morning bike ride with 8ManAfter who suggested I find this. Well worth it, many thanks.
One of five caches whilst riding at McLeans Island this morning. Quick find. #1606. TFTC.
Should have brought my bike but the walk is still good. Many thanks for placing a cache.
Went for a nice long walk with my muggle hubby (probably his version was that he went for walk with his crazy caching other half ) and our little one who was napping happily all the way in his pram.
As we approached the GZ hubby suddenly said 'You are here' which puzzled me a bit (how did he know this was a cache name?), but then I realised the what he meant.
There was only one place where the cache could be so it was not long until it was spotted and later returned to its hiding place with the logbook signed.
Thanks for placing this cache!

Today's walk was about a 3km loop from Miners Bank Road. It feels great to finally be getting more and more caches off my "too lazy" list. Nice quick find exactly where I expected it to be. The path I chose from the last cache wasn't great to start with... a few scratches on the legs...TFTC (3431)
We were there! A bit slow in getting around to log my find ... Found with Mporokosa. TFTC
This time I did check out the map. I'm looking forward to returning with my mountain bike. Was a great day to be out here today. Sunny, warm and little wind. The place has really changed since we were last here. TFTC.
The unfit Mr Moose needed a breather about here, so this was a good excuse as any. Jeepers, a few months since I was on the bike and I can feel it! Cheers
#13451. I was a bit late realising I was there, but I soon backtracked and spotted the cache as I was approaching GZ. TFTC.
Late in the afternoon, as we had waited for the warm temperatures to drop, StreetWalker loaded up the bikes and we headed out to McLeans Island - taking the scenic route past a cache or two .
SW, who as usual was in the lead, overshot the cache. so I was first on the scene. I still didn't find as my GPSr was leading me astray, and SW found it in the obvious spot. TFTC.

#2,587: Biking Smiley!!
Out for a nice wee bike ride with GeoYoungling #3, and we stopped to pick up some unfinished business. Lots of families out for rides, so we popped in to grab the cache between passersby. All in good shape!
