Woke up on Sunday earlier than usual and decided to go on a ferry ride to release some stress. Which one to pick, mmhh?? Tiritiri got the go with 10 unfound geocaches .
Enjoyed a great sunny day out on the water and around the island. The walk and watching the birds took my stress level quickly down and I was able to relax. Easy find at GZ. TFTC

It was stunning weather for a weekend on Tiri to take in the wildlife and pick up all the caches along the way. My last cache of the weekend and a quick find right where the hint said it would be. The dam was nice and full after the recent rain
Hint was great so quick find. Then we just had to work out which way to go from there!
Was on Tiri celebrating my 9000th find, and had to walk and gather all the new caches since I was last here.
On route to the lighthouse, and this made for a quick find, the container reminded me of what i had in my back and that I needed to use it on my knees so spent a couple of mins sorting that out and enjoying the tranquility. TFTC

A walk around most of the island with the kids. Listening and watching the wonderful birds. Collecting the caches on the way. This was number one for the day.
We decided to visited Tiritiri Matangi during Conservation Week, it's been over 15 years since we last visited. The Island has really developed over that period. Highly recommended. We took over 200 photographs.

Arrived this morning to stay overnight in the bunkhouse. Stopped to admire the view. Knew there were caches. Had even downloaded them. Thought this would be where we would pick and checked. Yup 5 m away. NINO TFTC
Our fifth find of a day of caching on this beautiful island. The birds and their calls are amazing not to mention some of the fascinating fauna. Probably wouldn't have made the trip out here if it weren't for these caches! GPS was a little off like it says in the info but found easy enough! Tftc
Beautiful day out on the island.
Had some work to do today and went for a walk afterwards.
No problems with the find.

Gps coordinates were messing up so couldn't look at description etc. Had to look without info but found eventually. Watch for sleeping muggles!
Came here from the Arches and an interesting little dam. Cache soon located and the cache is in good condition. Carried on from here to the light house. TFTC
Spent some time searching but coords weren't being helpful. Looked at previous logs and could see someone had given alternative coords so tried this. Evevtually had to give up as we had to walk down to the boat. Sad not to find after a search but sadder, it is unlikely we will get back a second time.
Nice well placed cache, not averaged but my phone said s36 36.142 e174 53.759

Joint FTF by the Tiri Crew (4 caching teams plus 2 muggles).
We met up with Rebel98, Rustynz and Urbangypsynz on the ferry to the island, and reached an agreement to make joint finds of these new caches for a more relaxing island visit.
Tiritiri Island has changed dramatically since our first visit back in the mid 70's. At that time the island had some remnants of mature bush in the valleys, with the rest of the island covered in long rank grass, since farming the island had only recently finished. There was a central ridge 'road' from the lighthouse to the far end of the island, and on the east side there were rough tracks down to the Arches and down to the Emergency Landing. Today for the first time we walked the East Coast track, which did not exist in those days.
In the 1970's the area around the dam was mostly grass, flax and bracken, which meant that from the ridge road there was a great view down to the dam and the Emergency Landing beyond it.
On our last visit to the island in 2004 we were amazed to see the growth of the thousands of trees that had been planted on the island (some of which we helped plant in the 80's). We were also a little disappointed that the wonderful views from the main track had disappeared with the rise of the vegetation. Today we were very pleased to discover the East Coast track, and the fabulous views that are available along it.
We made an easy find of the cache at GZ with the help of the specific hint. A joint FTF with Rustynz, Rebel98 and Urbangypsynz . Many thanks for placing a cache here.
Kiwicouple's First To Find coin visited.

Joint FTF with Kiwicouple, urbangypsynz and Rustynz with Muggles, Stayed overnight on the Island with plenty of bird life and saw a Tuatara Tftc
What an adventure! we booked an overnight stay on the Island in October last year. Two new caches where published and we anxiously watched over the next 4 days, would we get a FTF?
The ferry ride was eventful, as who should come on board at Gulf Harbour was kiwicouple! what other cachers could be nearby?
It was a hot straight walk to GZ, and once the cache was opened a blank log was found. Thanks for the hide, I have walked this track many times, its just beautiful.

All set for a FTF no finds as yet and rumours of a group of usual suspects heading to Paraha Valley, what could go wrong? Kiwicouple jumping on the ferry at Gulf Harbour drat! It is very hot so negating the need to run up the hill a more civilised agreement to joint FTF and take a more relaxed civilised approach and enjoy the beauty of our surroundings. Found with Kiwicouple, Rebel98, Rustynz and our ever pateint muggle friends. My new FTF trackable paid a visit, it's first find. A lovely gift from Rustynz.
