A nice easy find TFTC
A nice easy find TFTC
On the way back to Melbourne with Jascat and Mark9375. A couple of curious cows came over to observe us signing the log but moved on when I told them what we were doing. ( I don't think cow caching is going to take off in the cattle community.)
Find # 3565 @ 1625 H
Found with Tyred n Cranky
In Ballarat for the 2 Months to Mega Event.
After the event and a small amount of shopping we decided to brave the lovely Ballarat weather and go for a walk along this trail.
Managed to spot this one from the dry track. the hard part was finding a relative dry way through the
grass to it.

Find No. 1500. Found with FUF009 at 4.25pm
In Ballarat for the day to attend the 2 Months to the Surf Coast Event. Then after the event we went and done this series. Parked the car near Number One and off we walked.
No. 8 we had to skip as we could not find it so onto this one we went. Yes it's over there but look at all that water we have to walk through. Boy I wish I had bought my gumboots. Oh well we already have wet shoes and socks so we may as get wet ankles as well. Things you do to get a cache.

Looking for a walk with caches and we stumbled onto this number series. Enjoyed the walk.
Thanks

A day out caching in Ballarat, the weather looked promising so decided to do this series.TFTC.
It was at this cache that all the numbers stood out and we realised we should have been collecting them. So log signed and as we make our way back to the car we redo all the caches and collect the numbers.
Not many left in the series till the end. We even seen quite a large reflector night series not far off in the distances

TFTC!! One of my favourites in this series! Watch out for the cheeky cows lol
Our last day in Ballarat before we head back to Melbourne to catch the boat back to Tassie. We've really enjoyed our caching holiday. Thank you to all the CO's for taking the trouble to hide the caches that make such a holiday possible
2:19:00 PM. Being a cold day we decided to tackle this series. Nearly there. Found and signed. Thanks Shamus1 for placing this cache.
Found 16/3/16 @ 5:30 pm.
Out caching with FMS4 and TAJBentley today. With myself on a bit of a deadline, 1830 curfew, I was now at a point where I kept looking at my watch - would we get through all the caches before I had to head back? Best hurry up then...
Thanks Shamus1 for the series.

TFTC. Last one for the trail for us and we walked past it by about thirty meters. Too much talking and not enough coordinate checking. Thanks for this series Shamus1, now on to the final ....
I ended up doing this series three times today :
(i) the first time to sign the logs;
(ii) a second time when I realized there were number clues here for another puzzle;
(iii) and a third time when I realized that during the second round I had picked up the numbers from the logsheets rather than from the lids. Probably because at #1 there was an unmatched number on the logsheet (not a one) that led me to believe those were the clues.
Missed #8 due to muggle. Eight down - 2 to go. TFTC.

Heading over to Ballarat for a caching weekend and picking up a few caches on the way.
We managed to find about 230 caches in 3 days/ot bad work for 3 old guys
Out on the bikes to get this series. It didn't take too long and we only had trouble at number 3 where the dog was yapping and the kids were playing on the other side of the fence. We left it and came back and found it on our way back.
A nice series of caches and a pleasant way to stretch out after the long drive over.

Set off today with my caching buddy Slink1 to try and reach a mile stone number (9000) and I am pleased to say that we made that number and a few past (to be sure we counted correctly!). This cache was found as part of our effort to reach our milestone and my thanks go to Shamus1 for the placement and maintenance of this cache. We had a lot of fun and some laughs along the way.

With a day off from working the weekend and a leave pass granted, all that was left for me to do, was pack up the geo vehicle with supplies including the 2 wheel manual vehicle and I was off at the crack of dawn. My day started at 5:30am and finished 225+ kilometres later at 5:30pm. 60+ caches found for the day and a few DNF's.
I had finished my mission along the Rail Trail and now it was time to make my way into Ballarat. I had done one of this series previously and now it was time to do the rest. I wish I did them In order after I read the details for the final. A quick find on this one today after almost coming off my bike in a rabbit hole. It's very bumpy along here. Stamped returned as found.
[blue]Thanks for this trad cache and series, Shamus 1. [^]
Log and container in good condition.

As the weather cleared for a bit we set off down the old rail trail. We skipped 1 so started with 2. No really issues with any of the hides except as others noted 8 is out by about 10m. A few dog walking muggles about. A pleasant little walk. All logs signed and re hid. TFTC.
Started this series on Melbourne Cup Day but ran out of time. Staying in the area for 3 days this time so sent hubby to playground with the kids and set off from the southern end in the reverse direction from last time. The sun as hot but I had plenty of water. Remembered to get clues from caches this time. Nice quick find. Thanks to this challenge I have now done the Jasmer (Alphanumeric cache name) Challenger.

Time to go for a walk. I headed out on the walk solo, but would soon be joined by cachers who would really help me finish the series. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you! Thanks for the cache, Shamus1.

Found It...Found this one while up here in the company of Robynonthego The_Tritonz and Wozzle68. After arriving at GZ a short search soon had the log in hand and with it signed we continued down the trail . Thanks Shamus1 for the cache
Completed the number series with H3, The_Tritonz and Wozzle68. Celebrated 400th smiley with this one.
Our second attempt here after a failed mission previously. Thanks Shamus1 for the series.
Attempted to complete this series on a sultry evening, although we could not find the first cache. either our eyes were failing or it is become lost within the blackberries. Thanks for the cache and the series.
A simple series to stretch the cycling legs before commencing the 550km Great Victorian Bike Ride.
Thanks for the cache Shamus1.
Thanks for the cache Shamus1.
Our 4th day camped at Creswick, and today we decided to go to Ballarat to do a few trails.
This was our last series for the day, and we hoped to get them all, but it was not to be.
Most were found quickly, and the clue jotted down.
Number one took us the longest to find, and we did not find a clue in it.
The barking dog at number 3, cut our search short and we settled for a DNF.
An excellent location and the walk was pleasant, for this small series of well placed hides.
Many thanks for placing this series of caches, Shamus1, for us and others to find.

I was glad to find this after being muggled away from No.7 & a DNF on No.8. Accurate coords lead me straight to the cache. As I was walking along this stretch, I wondered how much of the surrounding land will be housing developments in years to come. TFTC Shamus1.
This was a trail that I have visited before but not along this section so it was good to explore more of it. Parking at the start I enjoyed a wander along the track. This one was a quick and easy find and I was soon on my way to reach the end.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Today we had some time to spare before meeting up with #GeoHulk to attack some of the BSRT series
We found all in the series OK except for No 1, although the coordinates for some caused us to broaden our search area somewhat. We found it an interesting trail in that much of it is so exposed to muggle view - it is a wonder to us that the caches have survived muggling.
For this part of the series we parked at the end of Wensleydale Road and did caches numbers 0 to 7.
Found at 8.35 am on 25th September 2015. TFTC.

Out for a walk with geo son JJ1 and dog and have been eyeing this series off for quite a while.
We had completed part of this series earlier with geokidI guides group but had never finished the series. When we saw it was back and the weather is perfect for a stroll we made our way down the path. TFTC Shamus1
Had a bit of time to kill this morning, before attending the Black Hill CITO. Seeing as these caches had been recently re-enabled, this was the perfect opportunity to do so. Parked the car and headed out on foot. A very still morning, with a nice blanket of fog greeted me. Had a very pleasant walk here, thanks for the exercise. TFTC Shamus1
Whoa! 12degrees and sunshine we just had to head out on the GeoBikes. A long hard day which ultimately ended up very cold.
We had a great day along the trails and really enjoyed the peaceful surrounds. Not a great fan of the wind chill factor riding back to the car though. lol.
Mr Felix on his own here and just before placing the cache back spied something! Oh my.... what .....
Thanks Shamus1 for feeding our GeoAddiction!

Found as Nicnax with SciFiRulz, PapaGrouch and Mazzymay. We had a nice walk down here in the sun when it finally came out. An easy series and we found everything we looked for today. TFTC
Another quickie. On this series we've been taken from older suburbia though a newer subdivision, past houses still under construction, then alongside some industrial spots (we found what we called the "pallet tip" quite interesting) & out into rural countryside where the cows admired us & we did likewise. What a wonderful little stroll through some of the less-seen areas of Ballarat, at least by tourists.
Met up with Darth Briji and #GeoHulk for an assault on Ballarat. With 3 layers of clothing and a wind chill factor of about minus 3, we managed some great walks, lots of smilies and enough bison's in trees to last me a long time. A really great time with the boys and geodog Tess for company, Do you have a share in the company that makes bisons. LOL. Thanks Shamus1
Up in Ballarat for the day with #GeoHulk & sorceysal converting some more caches into smiley faces.
Quickly spotted and clue noted.

An adventurous day around Ballarat with Suscoe, Bushfire, Buckleysbabe and OzBob included the subterranean depths of Ballarat, the mire of Winter Swamp and paddling on Lake Wendouree. With some daylight remaining, it was onto the trusty treadlies to follow, catch and match all these numbers!
Our thanks to Shamus1 for bringing us here.

Had to drop someone off at Ballarat Base Hospital this morning and then found myself with a few hours to spare so what better way to spend it than go caching. I'm not normally out this way so had lots of choice from the plentiful local supply so I decided to have a go at a couple of short series starting with the numbers series. You are certainly out in the open for most of these finds and need to keep an eye out for dog walkers, builders and bike riders.
A nice quick find after spending quite a bit of time at number 8.

Second find of the day along this trail. Nobody in sight at this end which was nice so I could go about the geocachers business in peace. TFTC Shamus!
Found with several others so we called ourselves an acronym which from memory was MACC. Fortunately the rain held off, unlike yesterday.
Found with Micaparamedic, Alansee, Team Crackers, Gonefishen07, Zobo04, Sully1, and ourselves today. The weather played havoc at times and the cold weather rolled in but in a group we soldiered on and had some fun along the way.
The caches were found one by one and we say thank to Shamus1 for this series.

Catching up on some late logs.
We were in Ballarat for the Events this weekend and also to grab a few local caches.
We were working our way through this series with micaparamedic. Alansee and The Coffee’s on a much nicer day than yesterday.
Walking the track at times we wished we had the bikes but all in all we did enjoy the walk as well.
Part way through we met up with Gonefishin07, Zobo04 and Sully1 and continued with them to get the last ones and also getting the clue we forgot to get from Number 1.
To save room we signed the log MACC, Micaparamedic, Alansee, The Coffee’s and Team Crackers.
Many thanks Shamus1 for setting up this series.
