Not quite what I expected but was able to make the find sign and replace before coming across any muggles. A very fitting hide and glad this was on the mornings list to do before we had to leave gets a fav from us
A few Westies (Gorby, Jag50, RustyNZ, Rebel98 and myself headed to New Plymouth for the weekend. We were headed back to our motel after a ftf in Bell Block and decided it was a good time to look for this cache as it should be nice and quiet in town as it was getting late. Sure enough, no one around and we headed to gz to start looking and Mr Jag must have eaten his carrots at dinner as he very quickly pointed out the cache to us. We signed as Team Westies to save space
A few Westies (Gorby, Merlot58, RustyNZ, Rebel98 and ourselves had booked some time ago to come to New Plymouth for the weekend. Despite being fogged in at Auckland and our flight being cancelled we leapt on the bus made available for us and arrived some 4.5 hours later. After having done a few caches in the afternoon and attended a local event we were headed back to our Motel and decided we wanted to get this one our last for the day while few people were around. The team converged on GZ and began the hunt. Mr Jag50 was a bit slower to join the group as he had been parking the car. As he approached he looked straight at the cache and walked up to and grabbed the cache calling out to the others that he had it. They all looked stunned as he proceeded to show them the cache and log.
The last find for the night. A plan was made to find during the evening when hopefully less muggles were about. It was easy to find a parking spot, and after making our way to GZ the call went out from jag50 he had found the cache. Love it when that happens
Clever little hide, I can see why its earned so many favourite points, very sneaky, but obvious too!
Thanks for the hide, the log was signed Team Westie (Gorby, Jag50, rustynz, Rebel98 and merlot58)

A 3 day weekend had been planned a few months ago by Rebel98, we had cheap airfares organised for New Plymouth and we were supposed to be flying out of Auckland at 6am sharp. But there was deep fog, so no flying today! Instead a lovely coach ride was organised for us (myself, Jag50, merlot58, rustynz and Rebel98 too) and a bus load of muggles.
This cache was done at night, getting late, our last one for a long day. Signed in as Team Westies from West Auckland. Now the 6 of us are off to a very well deserved sleep! Thanks for the cache.

Sadly not found despite the hint, which I think I understood. Spent some time looking, pouring with rain. Will revisit on next trip to New Plymouth.
Decided a couple of weeks ago to come to New Plymouth for Queens Birthday Weekend. The only time I have spent in New Plymouth is for work, so it was about time I spent some time here for pleasure. Found me a Airbnb and planned my caching weekend.
Decided to drive directly up to Piopio this morning and spend the day caching my way back to New Plymouth. Its been a day of Giants, Hobbits and Tunnels and I've had a great time. I haven't been on this road before and it is clearly one of New Zealand's best kept secrets!
Back in New Plymouth now and there's time for just one more. Thought that I knew what I would be looking for here and was pleased to see a slightly different take on this variety. Giving it an FP. TFTC

Up from Nelson for a nearby Conference and managed to find a few minutes to grab a cache. Loved this one. Thanks Ctsniper86!! Gets a fav
Found it! With a helpful hint. Very cool! Would never have found it by ourselves.
Night caching which makes it a bit easier to make a grab like this. Walked to GZ looked around and made a very quick find. Cool idea. Tftc
Waiting to head into the movies, thought I should look for this one. As I approached I thought "surely not??" But it was!!! Awesome cache. TFTC!
Every clever hide. Took my second visit to New Plymouth to find this one. TFTC.
Awesome! Was about to give up as was feeling a little conspicuous when the penny dropped. So walked past grabbed cache and signed a little way up the road and then walked back past to replace. Thanks, from the UK
That was a good one and great hint. I like this town. Here with HennyGeo on holidays from Vancouver Island, BC, Canada in scenic New Zealand TFTC
Here on vacation with SwagHo from Canada, sight seeing, geocaching and visiting beautiful New Zealand.TFTC.

This one had a really good hint to it and needed a bit of thinking, I enjoyed the way this one was hidden and think it deserves a favourite point. Tftc
Pretty quick find this afternoon with eltee291! That is a really cool cache. Have seen similar but not quite like that one. A favorite! Visiting from Victoria, BC, Canada. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache!
Quick find today with hingis20. Only one muggle relaxing not far away but he didn't seem too interested i what we were doing. We are vacationing in NZ from Victoria, BC, Canada and are on our way to Blenheim. We are staying overnight in New Plymouth and decided to spend our time find some of this area's geocaches. TFTC
Today was day two of a four day ‘camp’ I have been fortunate enough to lead and organize for the ‘SJCgeocamp’ group. The SJCgeocamp group consisted of ten motivated fourteen-year-old boys who had chosen to join me and another adult for a trip to New Plymouth to experience Geocaching for the first time during their school camp week. I really enjoyed researching the trip which consisted of a variety of geocache types, sizes and difficulties in a variety of locations, some more challenging to get to than others. We were after quality rather than quantity and mostly visited geocaches with a high numbers of favorites and by CO’s with good reputations for providing unique hides. Thanks to all the cache owners, the boys had a great time.
We took the boys to the movies when the weather turned nasty and came by here on the way back to the van. I've seen other caches like this one before and having read the hint before reaching GZ spotted it as we walked up and plucked it from its hiding spot to the amazement of the boys. It was a neat moment. TFTC.

Glad I'm out and about in the evening when no muggles are around. This would be hard to grab during the day. A very clever and bold cache. Nicely done.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Waiting for Winz to open, thought I would try this one again, got it straight away, tftc
Lol, came out after movie - totally recommend Inferno - thought we'd have another look after a quick scout the other day. Didn't quite expect it to be what it was but glad I checked!
A good hide but a quick find. I made this an early Sunday morning visit to avoid the muggles, but alas it seems I was most likely spotted Loved the old photo on the page with the Top Town building in earlier times, complete with a Humber 80 parked outside too, or is that the CO's geo-mobile - either way a very cool car for sure!

Fortunately we found one similar to this a few weeks ago a few hours further north, so after finding GZ we quickly had the cache in hand. TFTC
Very cool. One of those times you look at it and think no that can't be it. But it was lol
Had some time to waste while my care was serviced. Poped over to grab this cache while browsing around town...quick find but nice hide! TFTC
In between my daughter's hockey games today I decided to pop out and grab this cache. I managed to find a parking spot right near GZ before heading over to start my search. After just a minute or two I picked up on where it was. Then it was just a matter of pretending to play Pokemon while I waited for the right moment to make the grab. Nice hide! TFTC!
Great cache! And got to meet some fellow cachers while hunting for it which was great. Thanks!
Been here twice looking before. Only is it now after finding 20 plus caches that I'm thinking like a geocacher. Neat hint. Defiantly beware of muggles!
TFTC.

Out for a coffee and saw there was a handy cache so went for a look see. Wandered one way then the other while GPSr sorted itself out. Got to GZ and looked around and saw what must be the cache so grabbed it and moved away to sign the log.
Returned as found - not to many muggles about, too cold for them this morning maybe?
Nice cache and history. Thanks for the placement Ctsniper86 - gets a FP.

Disabled while I track down a replacement as the cache appears to have gone missing.
Exceedingly clever idea, was able to grab on a daring daytime heist. The nasty late Autumn weather had the streets deserted despite being under constant surveillance. Gets a fave point from me, well done. TFTC.
Awesome cache. Hint helped, glue coming off a little. May need some touching up before it comes off completely. Thanks!
Definitely one of my favourites. Pretty quiet so was easy to sign log book. Hint certainly helped. Thanks for the awesome cache!
Luckily I was able to get a park close by and instantly spotted the cache. I can't believe I couldn't find it last year when I visited this location. TFTC
First cache in the Naki, visiting from Auckland for Anzac weekend. Very clever cache
Oh my gosh! This one had me completely stumped! Had to call my sister for help. Great idea, never seen one like this before. Tftc
Once gps settled down I was finally at gz. Then realized I was looking at it. Clever hide. Tftc.
(1814) Out caching with Steeveb and Skibow1 to collect some caches around New Plymouth. Thanks for taking us to some interesting spots. Love the camo.
Oh snap the muggles really are watching you! Great cache - thanks for the help ctsniper!
Such great placement! The clue helped us get it, we wouldn't have got it otherwise!
Oh, great balls of fire! How did we nearly miss this one! Getting influenced by Americana Weekend. Really enjoying Taranaki. TFTC
We knew from reading the logs that we were looking for something a little out of the ordinary. - - - A film canister under a rock is never going to attract the comments that this one is getting. - - - So we didn't waste our time looking for the ordinary. Next thing aha, gotcha. TFTC . Awesome .
Nice quick find just took time waiting for the opportunity to grab cache as plenty of muggles its a busy spot tftc nice idea
Very nice cache! Came there amd after a quick look I had only one idea of where to look, and voila, there it is! Great idea, thank you very much for the extraordinary cache!
