Logs
A morning caching around Levin. Lovely morning for a walk up here. Thanks DannyDangerously for the cache.
Really felt like doom and gloom walking down to the cache. Got a scratch or two from the gorse! Easy find but cache container is not attached to anything anymore. Thanks for placing the cache
Thanks for the cache!
Sorry for the delay in logging. I’m in the process of finally logging all my old finds.

Predicted rain this afternoon so headed out early for a walk in the reserve. Managed to find the 3 traditional caches but failed with the King of the Mountain. Good climb to the top. Didn’t take long to find the cache. A bit longer to get to the log and sign it. Thanks. For the smiley and a good stretch of the legs.
After my success at King of the Mountain I continued on up here. It was a lovely sunny day in Levin but things were pretty slippery around GZ. Took a little bit longer to find this one with a number of potential hiding spots, but was still a pretty quick find - in the end I found it within a metre of where I'd put my bag down! Didn't need my swiss army knife as someone has kindly left an opening tool attached to the cache. Logsheet nice and dry inside. TFTC
Thanks DannyDangerously for placing this cache
It was a calm sultry evening and I had just bought a new bike! Where better to test it and my aging cardiovascular system than the Trig track!
As others have said the logs are very wet and slippery, but thankfully the new geocache log is waterproof and super-dry so once I had put my tool into action it was soon extracted, signed and replaced as found.

Nice quick find but our "small to medium" screwdriver was too big for the job. Luckily there was an attached tool which did the job.
Log saturated so stuck in a replacement waterproof log in a pill container as I don't think k the CO is active any more.
Best approached from the left.

Was worth the slippery muck all over from climbing the logs - managed to dig the log. Thanks for bringing me here
Up her on a cache-hunt with Edvern. Quite a bit of scrambling over the log-pile before we unearthed the prize; which promptly fell off the log it was mounted on as the wood is very rotten. Cache was fine though, so signed it and placed it a metre or so from its original position where it is safe from further collapse and from the underlying water-level.
Found with Boogie-O on a MTB ride up here. Took three of us quite a while to locate, scrambling around on the logs. Boogie-O found it, I had a screwdriver. Another cache with a difference, thanks DD!
It had been a very wet night, but I walk trig regularly so this did not deter me. There was a large puddle nearby, so today there was a body of water (Being a common feature in Danny's caches). Cache found in good order. Tftc
Logs extremely slippery after days of rain, but found cache okay. Couldn't get into it, even with a tool. Lovely area for a bike ride. TFTC
Found it! didn't bring the screwdriver so we just took a photo of us with the cache. TFTC
A beautiful winters day for a trip up Trig, so my boy and I (who are fairly new to Geocaching) decided to try to find a few up here. Definitely worth the effort. The Cache is well hidden, and bonus points surely for the innovative use of a container. Rather stupidly, having read the clue before we set off, I still managed to forget the screwdriver, so I have taken a photo of the Cache as proof for both ThatWeirdGuy04 and myself. We will definitely come back to this one at a later date armed with the right tools to take a look at the inside. TFTC
Found with Greenslime while out for a run up and over the range. Great cache, i hope those that visit this next heed your advise about taking a tool as it looks like the cache is getting a little battered from miss use.
#693 Back this time and with the appropriate tool! Great cache, gets a fav from me!
O wow love this I add 2 ally's 2 band aids. Small star and a pen as needed stuff love the idear
Oh yes, we found it easily enough, however, the 5 P's came into play here - Poor Planning results in Piss Poor Performance, and we were caught short without the appropriate tool. Oh well, just another reason to come back. And we will be back, that hill was great fun to run up (and down).
Found after walking/running up the hill.
I had my swiss army knife, but it turned out to be inadequate. I should have brought my wifes one as it is better equipped. Instead I used the onsite tool. It worked fine for opening the first part, but the second part was much tighter and I bent the tip a little bit before it yielded.
A nice location for a cache and a walk.
Thanks.

Went for a fast hike up the hill to score this one today. Much better weather here than it was in Wellington when I left. Found the cache fairly quickly and made good use of one of the tools on my Swiss Army knife to open it. Didn't do too much damage getting in to it Signed log, thanks for the cache and the opportunity for anonther enjoyable walk up here.
#6304. 3TF. A Sunday drive to Levin and made our way up the hill for a good hike. A number of walkers and cyclists were enjoying the day too. However, GZ was all quiet when we visited. Found after a short search. The cache was in excellent condition. Mr h thought he had the tool required, but it turned out not to be suitable. Fortunately, Mrs h had something similar but simpler and fitted the job nicely. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache.
We decided this morning we'd take the opportunity to go for a run in the hills & see if this FTF was still available.
We were quite surprised at how many people there were on the track for a weekday morning.
It took about 30mins to get to GZ & the cache was quickly spotted. We were so glad we'd read WEKA's log, otherwise we'd have arrived with inadequate equipment as well (what we normally carry), but we had made sure to bring something more suitable this time.
There were no muggles around while we completed the job. In fact it was a lovely, peaceful spot.
Left a pet rock - a snake. TFTC & the {FTF}

After our frustratingly so near but so far experience yesterday, we decided the cache was worthy of a second visit today. We decided to go in from Gladstone Rd as it looked slightly shorter, with less climb, however we had to go slightly further than anticipated, as the track between S40 38.465 E175 21.813 and the cache doesn't exist. Even so, it took us just over an hour. When we reached the cache, it was obvious someone else had been to it, and on opening we discovered rattll had beaten us today. So 2TF at 12.05 p.m. This clever cache is worthy of a favourite. TFTC
First to visit. We had not planned to visit this cache, as it looked to be too far for our elderly bodies, even for a possible FTF, but after having gone considerably further than anticipated to reach King of the Mountain, we decided we might as well carry on and have a look at this one, even although we didn't have the required equipment, although we did have some items we thought might suffice instead. After we reached the obvious location, it took quite a while before we eventually spotted the interesting cache container, at which stage it rapidly became apparent that nothing short of the specified equipment would gain entry.
