Up in Gympie for a couple of days and today i dropped my husband at the races and had a couple of target caches and this was one of them. I had solved this one before i arrived so it was time to turn it into a smiley. Once at GZ i soon spotted the cache but height is always my problem. So it was back to the car to get my TOTT and log book signed. What a great day to be a geocacher. Thanks for all the fun
We had the opportunity to spend some time exploring the region and were lucky to have perfect winter weather for it. We visited some wonderful sites, enjoyed some spectacular views and discovered some interesting history along the way. A set of calculations that were right up my street and I had a set of good looking numbers in no time. Off to GZ where the cache was quickly spotted and retrieved, much to the dismay of the colony of ants that had taken up residence inside. After encouraging as many as possible to leave, we signed the log and returned the cache to its home. Thanks The Dook
Glad I had a tall person with me. Had to dislodge the ants who had set up home, in order to get the logbook out. They were not happy ants especially as they were laying eggs inside the bag. TFTC
My plan for today was to find some Gympie geocaches. I needed a multi today and so this was one on my list. In preparation, I decided to see if I could do some of the work from home and as it turned out I was able to get a lot of the information I needed, however putting it in the checker, I had trouble getting the green tick. After several different attempts, I reached out to a previous finder however, as often happens, as soon as I reached out I figured out what I'd calculated incorrectly and I finally cracked the code!Today on arrival, I parked nearby and walked to Ground Zero where I discovered that I needed a tool of the trade because I'm on the short side. I went back to the car, grabbed my TOTT and returned. It was then a case of trying to grab the cache, which took me a little while but my tool of the trade assisted eventually. The cache is currently a haven for ants. I removed most of them and was able to sign the log. Then it was a process to get the cache back in place however I think I did a good job. I think I collected a few unloved points here but not too many,Thanks for the fun puzzle,The Dook. It was a good challenge to solve on a Friday night.
On the way home I decided to grab this cache. At placement I gather the information to find GZ. The cache was found and then sign. The Dooks thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for enjoyment of the caching community
Muggle65 and l headed out for a smiley or two today. Thank you for a fun cache
The Dook I found your cache CODE-BREAKER on 16/9/2023, 5:50 pm. This is my find 5994 and find # 11 today. Gathered the required information and got the green tick from geochecker. Cache was easily found, signed and returned. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
We enjoyed gathering the required information, before calculating a set of coordinates for the final hide.
A straight forward find, although some height is advantageous.
Thanks for this multi The Dook.

Thanks for this multi The Dook.
This was a nice multi which we did this morning! With all the information gathered and the ok from the checker we proceeded to GZ. We found a safe place to park near the corner and walked down to a likely hiding place where the cache was spotted. With a big stretch the pristine cache was in our hands, log signed and replaced as found. Thanks The Dook for this one and for placing the cache.
Gathered the information and headed for fGZ and made a quick find.
Log signed and all returned as found.

With mind numbing stumbling the co-ords looked good and we ventured out to find some caches this morning. This required two walks to GZ. The second was to get a TOTT to assist. If you’re vertically challenged you might struggle. With the log signed and all replaced it was another wander back to the car. This time feeling grateful we had something to assist.
Thanks for the cache and cheers and happy caching!

This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to make the trip north to Gympie, primarily to attend the Community Celebration and CITO events organised by AtTheLakeHouse. We had only driven through Gympie previously, so it was a chance to sight-see the area. Highlights included Yandina's Ginger Factory, Gympie Gold Mining and Historical Museum, and the Mary Valley Rattler train.
Today, we started out the day with a breakfast, and then proceeded south-west to a small cluster of geocaches, filling in time prior to the scheduled CITO. We made the drive to Amamoor to time with the CITO to find a very clean park already, and conveniently, the Mary Valley Rattler train rolled in, providing a great photogenic moment. We then found a few geocaches south-west with the *Amamoor Muster Trail*, and then looped back to Gympie via Kandanga. Following lunch, we then made a short drive north of Gympie finding a few geocaches, and finished out the day with the Community Celebration event, and a southerly homewards drive.
Rather than a DNF, this was more of a case of not being able to get this multi-cache to work. We arrived at the posted coordinates, and soon gathered the answers, noting that we could have easily prepared those from home. We gathered the numbers to obtain an implausible GZ from looking at the map, and to confirm it wasn't right, the GeoChecker didn't like it. We noted that many past logs indicated the "trick" that appeared to catch everyone out, and yet even after going through every question methodically, I still couldn't find any issue or mistake. I did suspect which number probably needed to move, and even tried another GZ to physically search despite another cross from the GeoChecker, but alas, we gave up and moved on. Thanks anyway The Dook for the cache placement.

We’re starting a new division of the watch. Since the risk of the clacks we’re seeing more and more crackers. Men of skill who have devised ways of sending code to break the towers. I’ve recruited Sane Alex to head up the new taskforce.
An easy find between events. Had the numbers and soon the cache too

Quick find with the group. Staying in the area for a few days and attending the event. Thanks for showing us this area.
Out caching in the area with Karicka, CaptainVimes and Little Miss Cacher. Karicka made quick work of the waypoint and the final. Thanks for the cache
In the Gympie area for today's CITO and event, grabbing a few finds along the way before and between.
This one took some figuring out but I got there in the end. A quick find by TeamARF here.

We were lucky to be with some cachers that had some inside knowledge with this cache, so with Red Paper Clip in hand we headed over to GZ and used it to open the container - came in really handy

Managed to start on this code before heading from home. With a check of a few things, had a coordinate set that seemed to work. It's great to break any code, especially as many multi's have made me feel broken. Cheers The Dook for setting up a few multis to keep me entertained.

Solving the puzzle was easy, finding the cache was easy - but accessing the cache, now that was a challenge for me. TFTC The Dook.
Went with skygoose and was also stumped on a technicality. Make sure you read those questions well.
Took us a shamefully long time to realise our mistake with the numbers, but definitely worth the time and effort.
Out for a day of caching fun with Mr Curious Quest. Another fun multi found and signed. TFTC
Today I was invited up to Gympie area with Selvagirls to do some caching so jumped at the chance. Nice quick find. TFTC
Embarrassed to admit how long it took me to put the maths together. Went around in circles until I realised the CO is singular, not plural . Once I had the numbers right, I couldn’t for the life of me get the checker to agree. I punched in several variations, just in case I’d misinterpreted, but to no avail. I told myself there was no way the numbers could be anything different to what I had and decided to just have a look at what I could was the obvious GZ. Sure enough, there was the beautiful new cache exactly where I suspected. Can’t say what was going on today, but I’ll blame the wicked storm that was looming over head, and that broke open just as I returned to the car. TFTC here - it sure was a busy road today!
Managed to solve this one last week only to discover that the cache was missing - have been in touch with the CO and I have replaced it with his permission as it would have be a shame to loose this multi. A favourite point for the adventure. TFTC The Dook
Not many will believe me, but it turns out I have the ability to do what is required for this cache. I soon had some coordinates calculated and set off to GZ. Here I made a quick find. Thank you for placing this cache for me to enjoy The Dook
Got to the listed coordinates and soon had some good numbers. Took some adjustment and a couple of attempts to get the checker to agree. TFTC
Need a few more multis to complete some challenges. This was a nice quick one. TFTC!
Did the solving from home retriving it was a task but geomobile well stocked with suitable tool of trade

Drove up from Canberra, for a much needed holiday staying with my parents in Caloundra ... Up here for a few weeks (Christmas, and most of January
My parents didn't have any plans for this weekend/NYE so I figured I would come up for the Geocaching weekend at Widgee ... glad I did - 3 days of fun!
Arrived Friday evening, went and found lots of caches with others on Saturday and Sunday, including seeing in the new year with a little Geocaching adventure by myself (the others all went to bed early) then a few hours sleep and up again for more fun ... CITO event, and then the one over the road, before packing up, and following RoddyC, and then joined by Echocage1, to find a few caches on the way to Gympie, then a few more IN Gympie, then some caching with Echocage1 while waiting for dark, when we met up with RoddyC again for a night cache before I finally headed back for a very late (reheated dinner at my parents place - lol
TFTC - Found with RoddyC ... after they drove a few minutes back up the road to pick up my phone from on top of the fence post beside the previous cache - oops
(I would have driven back, but I might not have found it again without my phone to navigate back)

We came upon your cache, The Dook, after the Geocaching for Newbies Event at Widgee. We are in the company of Aykayem.
Got all the numbers but only after a couple of mis-reads. Eventually got a checker OK and drove looking for a suitable parking spot. After a U turn we parked nearly opposite and soon found GZ.
Log signed and replaced at 11:35 am on 1 January 2018. TFTC.

Thirty years ago, New Years Eve was the highlight of the calendar - usually involving the beach, sunburn, a big party, hopefully some midnight smooching with a cute girl before seeing the sunrise on New Years day. How times have changed. Bromance wives were collectively glad to see the back of us (no midnight smooching tonight), so we set upon another road trip collecting caches north west of Brisbane.
SeffnJarah had done some homework on this cache before we left, so it wasn't long till we were at GZ. Fungus almost positioned the car for a grab. Thanks Dook.

Time for another Bromance Road Trip. Somehow we managed to all get the leave pass from family duties to get away for some New Years Eve Caching. We might as well join up with the event at Widgee, and enoy some of that wonderful hospitality from those North of Brisbane.
This one was picked up on the way to the event. Thanks for the cache. May have been signed as the Bromance for Swellerfungus, Seffnjarah and CrookedPete.
Fortunately we had our own resident codebraker for this one.

No red carpet parties rubbing shoulders with A listers. No sipping champagne in a ski chalet in the French Alps. Not even a couple of sparklers and a get together with relations you can't stand. Such is the stunted social life of the Bromance on New Years Eve. So instead Swellerfungus, Crookedpete and Seffnjarah decided to pack up the Zoomin' Shroom and head up to Widgee for a day of caching and a night of camping in 5 hollow-star luxury.
The J.E.F.F. App had been busy, drawing up a hit list of caches to collect along the way including this one. I had managed the code-breaking part of the puzzle from the comfort of my computer desk, so that today all that was required was a visit to GZ. Another almost-perfect parking manoeuvrer by Swellerfungus, although he didn't manage a perfect 10 as Crookedpete couldn't reach out of the window to retrieve the cache. A quick clamber and I had the cache to hand and after signing, Swellerfungus helpfully moved the car forward to assist with the replacement of the container. TFTC

When I pulled over in the side street to gather the required information, all the nearby horses came wandering over like I had some food. I wish the geodaughter was with me because she would have patted them all while I was taking notes. The electric fence could have given me a couple of laughs as well, if she accidentally brushed it.
I was racking through the questions, and a couple of them required a quick walk as some trees have blocked off their immediate view. If I had of known I would have packed my chainsaw for further cachers. In the end it turned out awesome as once I pushed aside the trees and did some quick calcs I didn't have far to walk.
A car passed and the morning's coffees had announced their arrival. I had to wait for another car whilst I stood at GZ looking at the cache. Finally it was clear and I couldn't hear any cars coming. Log signed and as I was walking back to the car I have to admit about having a quick pee under a tree but that would have meant the horses would have been watching me and as if I wouldn't already been intimidated enough. tftc

I embarrassed to admit it took me a while to get some numbers and he checker never agreed with me, but I figured I couldn't be too far wrong and I wasn't. Had a lovely pat of the horses at the WP.
T-Tech had to work at Gympie today so I joined him for the journey from Brisbane, then had a couple of hours to geocaching [^]
I had started the other nearby multi, but realised I could get this one done in the middle. I had no trouble finding all the info I needed, the math was easier than expected, and the checker agreed with me first go [^] At GZ I thought I'd not be able to make the grab, but where there's a will, there's a way! Rhobocacher, Echocage and I were here on the 1st and despite much math and checking and rechecking we could not get any numbers that worked. Part of our problem was that B kept coming out as a 2 digit number.
That night at the Widgee event we spoke to some locals and previous finders and they told us where we were going wrong. Using the "new" Geocaching app on an iphone B shows up as "...+32" instead of 3 squared. So my advice to future finders- use the old app or a web browser as the new app is not helpful!
On our return the cache was a quick easy find!

Out with wombles and co at the 2017 cacheup with the newbies event for a weekend of fun camping and of course caching Pretty much what Wombles has said we tried many numbers that didnt work and it was cause the app says 32 instead of 3 squared. ( Maybe the C.O. could put "3 squared" in brackets next to it) as many people would use the app when they are there to work it out. Finally when we got the heads up that it was 3 squared we reworked our numbers and checked it with the previous finders and then the next morning we attempted it again and this time we found it.
Rhobocacher, Wombles &co and i had tried to solve this one the day before but @ the time we weren't aware of a misprint in the instructions for one of the numbers so we were left scratching our heads and left empty handed. After advice from a previous finder and the answering the correctly worded question we came up with the right coordinates. A quick stop on the way home to get this one. TFTC Dook. xxx

I was heading up to Gympie this morning to race. Thanks to my idiot friend and his phone set on Sydney time I was on the road an hour early.
Well I can hunt for some caches on the way.
This one did not take as long as I expected. I was a bit worried when I started reading the description, but it was not as difficult as I was expecting.
Some numbers were acquired. Sums were done and a new set of co-ords were created.
A nice quick find at GZ thanks.
Sadly the log book was sodden and I struggled to add my name.

I had a plan for today and tomorrow. Leave home early for the hour and a quarter drive to Gympie and be down at the first of the Old Bruce lot at sunup. This plan worked.
Now I am back in Gympie to tackle the new ones up there I need smileys ( golden) for. Drove to GZ as per the cache description. Then the problems started. Do you work out everything from these co ordinates or from the corner where you can see the sign but are not at the sign as this does have a very big bearing on what co ordinates you will finish up with.
Came up with one set of Co Ordinates and straight away knew they were not correct because of where they wanted me.
Re calculated and came up with another set, probably the same as Sweet_Sour ( Keith) and knew they also would not be correct but very close.
As where I thought the hide would be between 161 and 250 meters away I went to the most obvious spot and found the container.

Having visited the site on 3 previous times, twice yesterday, sent the CO an email to confirm that the info was correct, and earlier today to confirm the info that I had collected was correct.
After arriving home after a shopping trip to Gympie, had a chance to turn on the computer to check emails, one reply from the CO, a couple of minor mistakes, with these rectified, and a confirmation of the final on Google, grrr searched there yedterday. Well what do you know, found it in a place I searched yesterday.
As always, I believe that one of the responsibilities of the FTF is to confirm the coords. The co-ords that worked for me today have been sent to the CO. I have placed the cache some 10 - 12 m out form the final co-ords.
Still a reasonable easy find with the final co-ords.
Faithful Midnight had to stay behind in the geocar, much to his disappointment. TOO much traffic on the local road.
Took the Ribbon and left a pathtag.
As it's an eclipse tin, please replace upsidedown, this allows any water that collects to drain.
