Stopped briefly on the way out to Karekare for the Anzac service but found nothing.
Last time I came this way, there was a lady with three boys at this spot, so I didn't stop. Today the area was empty, so I found it without any problem. TFTC.
Tomorrow we leave Auckland for Mt Maunganui, so it was our last chance to head out to Piha, a first visit for me and a second after many years for StreetWalker. We thought a weekday would be a quieter option than a weekend day, and so it was. What a beautiful part of the country. Many thanks to the COs for taking us to some interesting places.
The rock had black paint on it so whatever was on it has now been covered up and we will never know!!! But we did find the cache, so all good. TFTC.

#11724. Certainly a rock, but not so sure about the ribbitt ribbitt (post paint job). TFTC.
Had just done the mercer bay climb and was heading home. Had 4 of us, so to save space we signed the log as "SEAC" (South & East Auckland Crew)
Yeap, this one was easy to find, which is what we were wanting.

Having just completed an event at Mercer Bay a group of us were picking up a few caches on our way home and signing the log 'Team SEAC' to save space.
Now the cache title makes sense having found GZ and the cache

On our way home from completing the Mercey Bay cache a few of us decided to grab a few caches near the road side, and this fit the bill nicely.
GZ located and a safe pull off found, it was only a matter of time before the cache revealed itself with four of us looking....

Heading home from the Mercer Bay climb with UncleSamNZ, dragon.griffin and Stik-a-crane. We decided that since we were out this way, in an area where none of us come to often, we may as well grab a few caches while we were here.
Yup, it was a bit dodgy, but we made the u-turn in order to find this on our way back from Piha. Cache found within seconds, tucked in nicely.

Had arranged to met up with Trout-fly today to pick up as many drive by caches as we could. Had a great time finding 35/35 for the day, What a strange thing to put on a rock, cache located after first searching the obvious spot and then the lesser obvious spot. TFTC
My last cache for today. I found a safe spot to pull over and walked across to the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
Heading out to Piha picking up some smiley faces on the way out. Looks like gz is well maintained but the cache keeps itself well hidden. Love to why these rocks have received this name. Merlot made a quick find so we could continue on our journey.
We were on our way to Piha and stopped to pick up some caches along the route. Pretty obvious where this one would be and sure enough it was tucked away nice and safe from the weedeater which must have passed by recently
Dang was hoping for a larger container for a travel bug. Hem, cach looking good though. Certainly looking a tad damp but otherwise sweet.
Out here to tramp with other cachers, our 14k walk scared everyone else off. Tired and buggered they left promptly. So I'm left to wonder the wood for more cachs. Ribbit's definitely the word.

Freshly strimmed grass around the rocks had me worried, but spotted it on the second pass.

Hmm gee I wonder which rock. A figure of 8 around the rock and soon had the goods in hand.
Vistra and I were heading out to Piha, this was on route so was worth a quick stop.
Yucky, everytime I put my hands where the cache could possibly be there was a big muddy puddle, anyway, Vistra soon came up with it.

Joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 to pick up a few caches out at Piha and stopped for this one en route. It took a couple of circuits of the rocks till we spotted it. TFTC!

Another quick park and grab on our way to Piha for some winter sun and a stretch of the legs, Piha was lovely today, its been years since we were out this way! MrNZT found the cache quickly while MrsNZT kept the motor running! TFTC
Good location for a cache on the way to Piha.
A car was stopped nearby and he was talking on his phone for a long, long time!

En-route to start the Huia Dam track, saw Vamber stopped on the side of the road..must be a cache here, yup. Vamber signed and we doubled back to leave our car at the 'end'. tftc
Found this one with KirsTim before we parked up at the start of the Upper Huia Dam Track to start a big day of geocaching. Thanks for the cache!
A quick find at this famous local landmark. Its been here for many years that I can remember but have never heard why it so called???Tftc
After grabbing a FTF over at Karekare, I figured I'd stop here on the way back (no time to spare on the way in). Busy road today so played it safe and turned around at the dam carpark and made my way back up to GZ.
I've driven past the offending item a few times so I knew exactly where to go, though have no idea why it's there in the first place.
Quick find, nice stop - TFTC

Had to stop off here after finding the Cutty Grass cache just up the road. A passing police car slowed down while I was on all fours looking. Fortunately they didn't stop or call for the men in white coats. TFTC.
I had been caching for some time today, was about to head home and got the usual bleep bleep, ohhh e-mail! Pulled over at Titirangi village, I see 3 new caches!!! OK one can stay there 70 odd km's away, the north one will probably go but the 3rd one out along Piha Rd is very do-able, Glyn's new cache. But it is peak hour traffic thru the village, do you think I can do a u-turn!! Well, off course I did but it took forever.... so off I shot to Piha Rd, just arrived in time when I see a very familiar figure just about to sign the log, so I just managed to share the FTF with this very familiar figure, one more minute later it would have been hidden back from whence it came and gone. So I was happy with a joint FTF with a very familiar figure (he shall reveal himself in due course)

Just about to leave work when this new cache was published so decided to take the scenic route home. Got stuck in some roadworks traffic on the way but got there pretty quickly. Interesting - had never noticed these rocks before, with their cryptic message for the world. Anyway, made an immediate find, opened up the cache to find no log. Scratched around in the car to find some paper to make a log and had just finished signing it, about to put it back when I noticed Gorby had just arrived - in the nick of time for a joint {FTF}. FTF #1762 TFTC!!!
