*Cache find # 14848.*
Today I headed out to the Otway Forest Park and Paddy's Swamp area for a bit of a tour around on my bike and finding caches as I went.
After getting organised at Tanners Campground, I then headed out on the bike and started making my way towards Paddy's Swamp, trying to knock off a few from this Bambra series.
The track to this one suited my transport perfectly, I arrived at GZ and soon spotted the cache and after letting the rope free, the cache stayed exactly where it was, well this is a bit of a problem. I looked around for a tool that may help, one that was long enough was found and after a couple of friendly taps, the cache was soon heading towards me, crisis averted.
The log was signed, I sent it back to where it was and moved onto the next one.
**Thanks to The_Tritonz for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**

We are out for a Saturday drive and to pick up some smilies.
A short walk from the previous cache and a surprise cache location, nice.

Ha ha! The geokids can't deny me today! We're out for family geocaching adventures, and all the whingers have to suck it up!
The name evoked a certain style of cache, which the boys were keen to attack. It wasn't that at all, but something almost as good. I was going to leave a jibe about "bloody bisons in a tree", but... this one actually deserves a fave.
Thanks heaps, Tritonz!

Out and about with Dromaniax on this chilly Sunday night!! We decided this afternoon that we would go on an adventure to collect a handful of smiley faces and this series is on the list!!
We thought we might of been able to drive in but the giant log neatly placed along the track had other ideas. Made the short walk in and there it was in all it's glory. Great hide, that's a FP from me

Donutholes asked me if I would like to go caching tonight. The weather at the time was wet, wild and wintry, but the answer is pretty much always yes; who cares about the weather.
We had planned to cache this area a month or so back but were sidetracked by a possible FTF in Melbourne, and today was the day we chose to cache this area.
The Bambra Series was the main target for the night. It had turned out to be a pretty clear night with an almost full moon. However, we did drive through some very thick fog and had to keep an eye out for kangaroos. No kangaroos were harmed in the finding of these caches.
A very well named cache and we are nearing the end of this marvellous series.
The cache is in excellent condition.
Thank you for this cache The_Tritonz.

best find so far, a little bit of a walk but not too far. Really smart spot and really fun to get down. TFTC made our day
Is there anything not magical about walking through the wet bush with a slight breeze blowing, the trees whispering their tales and the hint of excitement that something good is about to happen? Can I just say, GZ reminds me a certain book from my childhood and I am standing here, typing this, transported back in time, imagining all the characters looking back at me. It’s an amazing feeling. I really don’t think you could have found a better spot. TFTC
This was a bit of a walk in and the little cacher legs were getting tired, but it was worth it for the design here. The CO has been known to enjoy a tree climb and this was a fun play for those who like to keep two feet on the ground! We were initially worried when it didn't move, but then it did and we had another great cache in hand. TFTC, a fav from us.
In all are travels we would not have even thought to traveled to this location.

Out today with sorceysal to clean up some caches in the area but mainly to complete this series.
Well another FP donated here. A very well constructed hide and not what I expected at all.

Out with 6hinemoa2 to finish the Bambra series and clean up a few caches along the way. A nice walk in once the track was found. Thanks Chris and Lorraine.
Sometimes reading the name of the cache helps when you can’t find it. Certainly did in this case! Loved this hide. Always nice to see something a little unique. This is why I love this game. TFTC a FP from me
What a Fantastic place for a cache. Washboard and I had difficulty opening the container until we made a group attack. A fav. For this one.

A bit further off the main track than most caches in the series,
but an easy stroll in along a timber cutters track to GZ.
They haven't cut this tree down
And the cache was soons spied
Some fun and games later,
and the cache landed safely on me head

Fave dance time !!

Found in a group after the Colac event. My favourite cache of the day. I am not saying any more.
After the first event in Colac I teamed up with Phetlern, Alansee and au.fait for the rest of the day's caching, in and around the area. Nice hide. We finally had the last number we needed for the final, so that's where we headed next.
My thanks to The_Tritonz for the cache.

HToday's work adventures called for a trip to Warrnambool, so off I set early in the morning with the goal of knocking off a few caches while I was at it. A couple in the morning, a quick mission at lunchtime and a couple more on the way home netted me a decent day's finds. Heavy, overcast conditions meant the phone GPS was a couple of meters less reliable than usual, particularly in the morning. Happy to report no DNF's as a result but a couple of times I had to pull back, assess the situation and let the geosenses take over.
Found this one today totally in the wrong place and it appears somebody has dropped it and cracked it open ....so a holiday at home will be required before this one will be active once more!
Out and about on a localish outing today exploring Winch / Bambra / Angelsea Heath.
Lots of Iron-bark woodlands and slipping and sliding around 4WD tracks!
This really was a nice walk in here, Bentley enjoyed it to stretch the legs.
I spotted the cache, which was low enough to just reach and sign. I then adjusted it so its a bit more fun for the next finder
Lovely bushlands out here, shame local parks are so strict on no caching.

While doing a maintenance run in Bambra we found this cache hanging lower than we originally placed it but the hide style is still in theme. It seems to be getting slightly damp with condensation so a wipe out was necessary. As the logbook had not been replaced into the ziplock bag it was also damp so we have double bagged it with a absorber.
Found it but it was lying on the ground out in the open. When I finally prized the lid open discovered water inside. Luckily the log was still dry. Once that was signed the next problem was how to return this to its rightful place. Some lateral ( and vertical) thinking eventually solved the problem. Also discovered a much easier way out that didn’t require my regulation bush bash approach Thanks for the challenge The Tritonz
Heading back from the coast I'd spent the afternoon in Boonah visiting my cousin.
A little further up the road I detoured past here for some smileys.
This was the first of 2 today.
I thought it would be a quick drive by but a little further along off the path it was.
When I got there I realised why!!

Noice!!! A comfy walk along the road, zero traffic, we easily found the proper way in without bush-bashing (helps when you are travelling on foot!), accurate coordinates and the not-so-surprising engineering that matches the name. This is particularly satisfying as for one us the walk would have been out of the question two weeks ago ... ["she loves her podiatrist" ).
Thanks for this cool series!

With a few days off from work, the plan was to get the geo wheels a little dirty on some tracks off the main roads. I was packed with plenty of fluids, the geo toolkit, the PLB, GPSr packed with geocaches and plenty of snacks to get me through. I really enjoyed this geo adventure, plenty of new sites found over the journey. I followed the bumpy road down til my GPSr was telling me to go left. I didn't see any tracks in so I parked carefully off to the side and made the 180 meter walk in through the bush. I spotted it as I got very close, nice one. I enjoyed doing what was needed to obtain the log. Bambra is such a beautiful spot. Stamped and replaced as found.
**Thanks for placing this trad and series The Tritonz**

**Cache container and log in good order**

Today I was out for a caching trip down the coast with Neville_devil and Ausfox;.
We started to head towards Bambra because I was in search of at least one large container. Having just found a large container just before this cache a second large container was just the icing on the cake.
A short walk to GZ where we thought we would hang around a little and sign the log book.
Thank you The_Tritonz for the cache and another large container

The serenity of the Otway Ranges was a far cry from the frantic festive season preparations going on in town! There was a carpet of flowers and the birds sang all day, as we set about converting some of the long outstanding green boxes to smiley tokens. More beautiful bushland to wander through on the way to GZ. So simple and safe - a favourite for ingenuity.
Our thanks to The_Tritonz for placing this cache.

With only half a day today before heading up to Melbourne, an adventure closer to home was the go. Checked out the map and decided to head out to Bambra and grab as many of this series as we could. We packed a picnic and headed out.
We parked up just off the road and wandered down the track towards GZ, admiring the Fringe-lillies and Pincushions that were flowering in abundance. I began to miss my real camera and macro lens, as the phone did OK, but not in the same league. We arrived at GZ, where the cache was spotted from a short distance away, retrieved and log signed and the cache sent back to its resting place.. Mrs Juc hadn't seen one like this and was impressed.
Back to the ute, with another stop or two to admire the wildflowers.
Thanks for bringing us here Tritonz !

I headed out to cache in Bambra today with the added incentive of some new publications. After finding the newer caches I continued on with the aim of completing this Bambra series.
I enjoyed the walk in to GZ and retrieving the large cache. The type of cache I enjoy in locations I enjoy, so a FP from me.
Thanks, Tritonz.

A great cache. As we were camping near by we thought that this cache was appropriately titled and thus deserved our attention. Thanks for placing this cache and putting the thought into it.
Great cache idea, coolest find ever! The condensation from the extreme weather the past few days cause the logbook to get damp but that didn't change how great the cache was. TFTC
Seems I forgot to log this one back when I found it oops : another one thanks for the cache.
Found during a day of caching in an unvisited area with Glanville Girls, nice quick find after making it to GZ

Out caching today with ST37E with the aim to complete the Bambra series and collect some caches in the Gellibrand area. We were lucky enough to have one half of The Tritonz on board with us today to keep us company. A bit of team work was involved for this one. Very clever indeed. A favourite added for your efforts here.
Wondered where on earth I was heading as I ventured down some fairly rough roads, and then headed off on foot into the bush. Arrived at GZ and thought, now where can it be. Then the penny dropped! Gets a fav. TFTC
Nice to have a bit of a hike through some remote bush... then we spotted the well-crafted cache quite quickly - the geokids had a lot of fun with this one! TFTC
An aptely named cache
Whilst this was a quick and easy find
It was difficult to return cache as it was found, but that was part of the fun
The first of this kind that I have found, hope to find more like this

Suscoe headed out for an Otways journey today and when we left home the sky was clear and sunny.
When we arrived down this way the drizzle set in during the early morning.
Then later in the day things cleared up a little but the clouds stayed for the whole trip.
Find 11 of the day and we enjoyed the trip to GZ, a nice combination of road and walking.
Spotted the cache and found the way into the log book.
The local galahs and cockies were not impressed with the intrusion into their space.

A number of factors aligned today to make for a great day's caching. In need of some photos for a forthcoming blog post, I decided to head in the Bambra direction. As it happened, Geohubby took the day off, so I had some company too.
After some success nearby, we parked at a distance and headed in. With the knee beginning to complain in earnest, the phrase "blundering in Bambra" sprang to mind, but we made it eventually. I spotted the mechanism for this hide, before I found the cache itself. We set about the job of retrieval and soon had the cache in hand and the log signed. A little more effort and everything was back as we found it and we were of for some more blundering in the bush .
I was interested to learn this afternoon how this cache was placed as it was not at all what I envisaged the CO did to place it...

Another relaxing walk to GZ. Had a look around but not in the right direction, once spotted I went about the process to retrieve the cache. Signed & replaced as found.
Also found a pair of Sun glasses at GZ.

Gee this area to my right reminds of the pics from the Tunguska event. On the way in I passed some campers, while I was almost ready to pull over a dark animal runs right in front of my car. What I first thought to be somebodies dog, was in fact a dark coloured wallaby. I'm just glad I wasn't flying down the road any faster. I don't know how I missed it, but I did. When I was within 200 metres, I parked on the side of the road and legged it the rest of the way.
Gee this tree certainly dominates the others in the area. Took me a while to spot what I was after. Found what was needed for retrieval, a nice touch. Haven't done many caches like this, a novel idea. I remember dropping my sunglasses here while looking up in the tree. Forgot all about them until I was half way home. TFTC The_Tritonz.

Found It....Found this one after driving up the road and seeing the GPS saying 185mt right and thinking have i set the coords right so after rechecking them i set off walking into the scrub. After arriving at GZ something caught my eye and after a bit of a look realized what was going on soon after the cache reveled itself and with the log signed we moved onto the next one. Thanks The_Tritons for another well thought out cache it is getting a Fav from us
Saw these caches pop up this morning but thought some of the locals would be onto these before I could organise myself but some hours later nothing was happening so set the Bushfire FTF system into gear and shortly we were on the road down to this wonderful area.
9th cache find for today but cachers using phones do be aware that sometimes coverage in this area is very flakey so a GPS is the way to go if possible.
I like H3 saw that the cache was off to one side and I spotted a bush track so down it the White Beast went and soon spied the container but how do I get it down.
Oh this is simple enough so the log was soon in hand ans signed but there is more to the story as buzzsmc was the first here and nearly came to grief by misreading what was required and could have hurt himself, but I hear that he survived.
How do I know this, well on my way out the CO was coming in to repair the damage. Now that is a quick response for maintenance. With everything sorted with this cache it was onto the next.
I had seen this container in the rear of the Triton at a CITO months ago and now I know where it ended up.
Another F.P. for the effort and thought used here.
