The first official planned cache of a weekend adventure with CrystalFairy and Infoferret. Quick find, signed with our initials, thanks Schwabenpanda
28 October 2022 13:01 A 3 day expedition to the areas north of Auckland with Crystal Fairy and Barefootguru, most logs signed as BIC to save space and time. The focus of the trip was to find a number of puzzle caches solved over the last couple of years, plus other caches of interest we passed.
Nice views!
TFTC Schwabenpanda for placing this cache, number 11826 for me.

Day 1 of our three day Geocaching trip to Whangarei. This stage included the drive from Auckland Airport to Whangarei and caching the last 30 or so km's before getting there as well as some caching to the west in the late afternoon early evening. We signed the log as BIC for BFG, Infoferret and CrystalFairy.

We are travelling North for a week's holiday in the Bay of Islands but have time to spare for a few caches along the journey. Another short detour off the highway for this one. A nice easy find with great rural views. TFTC

Excellent park n grab in good condition, only some sheep, slugs and snails as witness. TFTC

Managed to pull out of the flow of traffic to head up to collect this cache (even though some drivers could use lessons in not trying to crawl up other drivers tailpipes). The cache was quickly located and the view enjoyed whilst the geomutts got a chance to stretch their legs and watch the flock of turkeys nearby. TFTC

An easy find on our way back home, great views but I'm not sure I could see Bald Rock!
A quick detour on our way home from Langs beach with S/N, Merlot58 and Nette to collect this cache. Good views from here. TFTC
Short detour for a quick find.
Travelled up from Dunedin for my first Mega event and wanting to sign off some geotour caches as well in Auckland and Northland.

Found it!! Beautiful little spot, one of the better cashes we've come across. Added a shell from Goat Island and a fluff ball seed from. The cement works. Thanks heaps for this one!
Beautiful Cache, one of the better ones we’ve found, on our way to Ruakaka, lots of lil treasures, we left a shell from Goat Island
We swung by here on our way home from a break we thought we would never get this year. Tftc.
Roadtrip time, day 6.
I have used the Easter weekend combined with taking 4 days leave this week to get in a 9-day driving tour, hoping to get as far north as 90 mile beach in order to seek the recently published PWGT caches throughout Northland, as well as catch up with 4 different sets of friends.
Having travelled down from Auckland to the Coromandel yesterday, it was time now to reverse course and head back up to Northland. By tonight I would be in Waipu, but I had a full days caching before I could rest.
I have driven right past this cache several times over the last couple of years, but today I decided to stop and look for it. This was effectively a quick park and grab for me today. No problems parking up near GZ and walking over to find the cache exactly where it was supposed to be. I encountered no issues with either the container or the log, which was swiftly signed before the whole lot was replaced exactly as found.
Thanks for setting up this cache.

Bald man goes to bald rock. Nice to get off the busy road onto some of that lovely New Zealand gravel.
A little off-route foray as we drive up to Whangarei! Overshot, as we were attracted by the higher electrical thing! TFTC
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches

Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!

The Elder Future Finder and myself are making the trip to my parents, North of Dargaville, collecting a few hides along the way. We took the opportunity to make the small detour to GZ from SH1. We parked up and I made a quick hop-skip-jump to access GZ. Found in the expected location for a super quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!

Making a road trip today from Auckland, Wellsford and Whangarei today. Thanks to all the CO'S who placed and maintain all the caches.

Popped by to find the cache (and have a roadside toilet stop!) on our drive up to Whangarei. Thanks!
We spent one night at the lovely farm and went out for geocaching. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Hamburg Germany
Homeward bound from a few days in the Far North stopping frequently along the way collecting clues for the 'Mystery at the Museum' geocaching event. Nice quick park n grab here. Diamond clue collected. We then drove to the end of the road and back hoping to figure out which hill was Bald Rock. None the wiser. Spotted some Peacocks though. TFTC
My objective today was all about the numbers - but not the usual numbers - I was after missing minutes to complete the South 36 Challenge (GC54X4E). I started the day needed 11 more and managed to get them all while dodging rain showers along the way. Second cache found today. I parked across the road and wandered over to GZ. Found the cache in the first place I checked. TFTC, Biggles.
Finally on the way home after being stuck in Auckland, why not go geocaching on the way home. R18 at it again.
A nice spot to stop. TFTC

Lovely little stop on my way to Mangawhai walking weekend. The cache was easy to find and in great shape. Tmw I’ll be walking BaldRock, knowing I already signed the cache
On our way north for a couple of days and took the opportunity to do some rare caching along the way. Had a few caches specifically planned, so we could complete a 36 degree challenge, but also enjoyed a few extra caches around the region as well. Beautiful day for a drive and we ended in Opua at a lovely B&B. Thanks to all the cache owners for their caches.
Another slight detour from out north bound journey. Quick find here. TFTC!

I parked at the entrance to the campgrounds and hoped no one would need me to move. I found the cache quickly and was gone before anyone noticed. TFTC.
After having spent my first night in New Zealand here at the Baldrock View Farm Camp, I was looking for my first cache here and could find it quickly! Thanks a lot!
#9814. A short detour off State Highway 1 onto Otioro Road in Topuni. Quite a misty view here due to the low cloud today. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Kurz vom naheliegender kleinen Zeltplatz zurückgelaufen und den Cache problemlos gefunden.

We took a slight detour off the main road, and found this cache with the help of the neighbour's friendly dog.
Been past this side road heaps of times, but never actually been up here before. Often wondered about the rest stop sign on the main road, pointing up the gravel road, but now I know why. Cache was a quick find where expected. TFTC
Quick detour on my way to Whangarei today for a quick PnG. TFTC and for another cache in my 36 Degree Challenge
Wir verbrachten die Nacht auf dem Camping und besuchten ihn am Morgen bevor wir los fuhren. Tftc grüsse aus der Schweiz
I was taking my son down for his first year at Auckland Uni today. Took the chance to grab some caches along the way. I wanted this for my 36° challenge so we did a slight detour. I couldn't work out where Bald Rock was but saw the forest across the road is being harvested. An easy find thanks
27/1/17 - Found this morning after camping overnight at Baldrock Farm, pretty basic stay but there was plenty of space and a nice evening. Saw a Coolie on the road on the way out (near GZ) - couldn't believe our luck - we needed a new coolie....then realised it was full of old fishing bait etc (euuurgh). Log signed! tftc
Quick stop as we made our way south, so many cars so it was nice to take a break. T4tc
A wee detour off the main drag for a little box. A nice quick find but for the life of me I couldn't see a bald rock. Cheers.
On the way back home now, driving, to Auckland.. Time to find a few little boxes.....
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

My afternoon excursion direction north also led me to this place, as i was taking a short detour from the normal road. Didn't take me long to find the hidden treasure and so another cache was found on my vacation in your beautiful country.
Thanks from a german guy on his New Zealand vacation for placing and maintaining this small treasure

After competing in the HCMC Hillclimb at Pritchard Road, I stopped off here in my Rallycar on the way to prize-giving at the 3 Furlongs Hotel in Kaiwaka, to pick up my 3rd in Class trophy. TFTC.
Heading back towards Auckland again after a weekend exploring northwards. A quick stop and find.
TNSL, thanks for the cache Schwabenpanda.

Time to head back down the line after my week in Whangarei. Was originally planning to stay in Hamilton, but didn't realise the All Blacks were playing there tonight, so then looked at Taupo, but all accommodation is booked out there too, so Rotorua ended up being my target for the day, caching on the way. Another quick detour of the highway and another easy grab. TFTC
Finally found a trackable, all others were already gone... We like it, it has our surname on it! TFTC
1.20pm. First on a trip south to pick up the remaining caches to Warkworth. Easy find but no view of the rock from here today.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
We have been wanting to explore up this road for some time and decided that today was the day. By chance I opened the geocaching site and was delighted to find that there was a cache here!
A very nice view from GZ, and quite a thrill to find something other than an eclipse tin or a nano!

Today we were driving between Auckland and Bay of Islands, and we did a quick detour to visit this cache.
It was an easy find.
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Portugal.
#10015, Found it with DroidCachebox!
We visited this cache during our trip through out New Zealand!
With our rental car, we explored the north island for 12 days.
NZ is a beautiful country and we really enjoyed our time here.
We hope to return one day and explore a little bit more!
Day 8 - Auckland to Bay of Islands
Today the weather was pretty bad, it rained all day.
Since we had to travel north anyway, we tried to use the short periods without rain to find some caches on the way, we managed to visit some interesting locations. The coast up north is amazing, although it should be much nicer with a better weather.
Thanks for the cache.

(1748) Heading south to collect some caches in the Port Albert area. Grab this on the way through. TFTC
Have been past this road many time. Good excuse take a peak. Dropped off a little toy. Cache in good condition.
Knowing that the cache had been replaced, we made the quick detour off the main highway to collect. Love the Bald rock B&B, although it is up for sale, so its name might change? Thanks for the hide, and we got to sign the new log
