Logs
Have been planning these caches for a few weeks in conjunction with HKCB for a mad dash and effectively a 24 hour run (so that we could spend time with our respective families) for the rest of the ensuing weekend. Signed most/all caches as HKCD or some such other that we could fit in
Leaving Hamilton at 7pm Friday and getting home midnight on Saturday so that at least 6hours quality sleep was acheived, sleeping in the car is always a bonus (2 hours) and the remainder of the time caching around part of the country we hadn't previousley done a whole lot, but have left plenty for the next trip across the hill.
Starting a new day with only a drizzle outside and an early morning bike ride to boot.
This was the sixty ninth of the100+ that we acheived in that time we were over here.
Thanks to all the CO's for the effort and giving some great caches, sorry about the repetitive logs but then 100 is a few to cover off.
Continuing on around the countryside collecting caches as we go
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

We had been talking about cache bash in Napier for a while, and when Cats&Dragons mentioned a trip down here this weekend I couldn't say no. The plan was to head down Friday night (leaving Hamilton about 7pm) and then cache til we can then grab a few hours sleep and then cache through til late afternoon and then head home. The plan worked well, with about 110 caches found over the 24 hour caching period.
It was the first time we had visited Napier to do a caching mission, and we were both impressed with the genius hides (some we hadn't seen before, I'll give a special mention to those ones). A big thanks to all the CO's whose caches we found, for placing and maintaining them. A great trip and looking forward to a revisit.
Neat hide, checked a few spots before it was found.

Heading home after the weekend in the Bay. This was a cache find made as we went southward.
A straightforward search and find. Nifty wee hide this one, cleverness at play. Cache in order, log signed and then safely re-hidden, just as found.
I visited here with the caching boywonder, z that is!

All good at GZ.
Did you know that planning has started for a Mega Event in Wellington in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event's page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/)
Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

Thanks to hubby's keen eye found it very clever cache, way too public though TFTc
My first trip to the Hawkes Bay for work in 2017. Arrived in mid afternoon and achieved both my tasks and then had to drive back to Palmerston North and there was no accommodation to be found in Napier, Hastings and Havelock North due to a Kapa Haka tournament in the bay this week.
Pulled safely to the side of the road and walked back to the GZ. Quick find here. I have seen a numberr of this type of camo now. TFTC

I think I might be developing the geocacher's 'eye' ...found this without too much trouble. Great hide! Tftc.
Day 11 and our last caching day of our Mega Roadtrip. A very quick sight and sign here. We have seen a few of these now. Thanks for the smilie
After a few to many disapproving looks from passers by, we looked everywhere that seemed like it could hold a cache (without looking too dodgy). But gave up hunting before we found it...
Can't believe we didn't find this on our last visit here! Found within 3 seconds of arriving at GZ today. Tftc
Stopped on way home, took a few minutes to find. Nice hide have come across one like this in B.O.P. Cheers.
Today we are driving from Napier to Lower Hutt, a four hour journey for "normal" people but a nine hour trip for geocachers! Luckily the temperatures were a lot cooler today and we had a bit of drizzle during part of our journey, but that didn't really curtail our caching.
We noted that the parking near GZ was really good travelling south (not a usual thing for busy roundabouts like this), so pulled in to look for this cache. A quick find, and then easy to get back into the traffic flow again. TFTC.

#12043. This one wasn't on Trudy's list, but we were driving past and the parking was surprisingly good. TFTC.
Quick stop and fine on our way to Taradale for the evening. Like the hide, which I have seen before. Thanks for the cache.
Took a trip through the bushy bit, then was surprised tad at gz.
Have found similar before, so camo did not fool, however this seems of a higher quality.
Cheers

Felt very obvious here at rush hour on a Friday afternoon, so many eyes on us! Searched what we thought would be the potential hiding spots with no luck.
Quick find today. I'd searched for this once before but perhaps under estimated the sneakiness of the CO, well I know better now don;t I TFTC
doh got it on second attempt not sure how i missed it the first time as i new what i was looking for anyway alls well that ends well
Did a quick check on this one just to make sure it is all still good and in place as it should be. All is good. Thanks to everyone who has found it and put it back as it should be
Woohoo way to go me, did my own research, and with a tiny bit of help! I finally got this. Loved it. Great concept, my first like this. Gets a favourite from me
Nice hide, I have something similar in my collection! Nice spot too, went for a wander though the flax.
Found on the way home from a short HB visit and we did know where to from here, fortunately. It was a quick find as we've met this kind before. Very busy area so appreciated the good parking close by and used the old hi viz vest and clipboard trick! TFTC
Love it!!!! Jordis was the one who found it, we just about gave up and then she found it. This gets a favourite from us! Thanks guys
No luck today, tough one, don't like these scary ones, don't like to rummage around too much. Hmm, will have to think about what I missed
Nice quick find with Just-Lookin while geocaching around the area.
Very cold and wet here for us.
A good hide

Thankfully a nice quick find as we ran from car to cache and back to car in this wet weather.

To the next cache of course! which wasn't very far away thankfully. Nicely hidden, and quickly spotted.

Had a pretty good idea what to look for here so was in & out fairly quickly, which is just as well given the amount of traffic here. TFTC
Go figure, I havent seen this type of container for a couple of years, and now 2 in 2 days! Quick find with only a few cars whizzing by.
Checked out the three possible locations quite extensively although I don't really like searching these things. Not many places to look but no luck today and I certainly wasn't going to risk sticking my hand up the hole that gaped in the larger item perhaps after the recent rain.
Love it. I couldn't stop thinking about where it could be after yesterday's dnf. An easy find today. Great cache thanks !
