Well that was interesting one. Not long after I started the hike in I run in to very angry red belly but I didnt let him deter me. Once at GZ I spent age looks everywhere for the cache but there was no way I was giving up especially since I knew I was going to have to deal with the red belly on the way back. Eventually I found the cache and the guardian thankfully then made the return trip with no sign of the snake. TFTC
Have replaced with a new container and logsheet. Cache is now tucked away in its little home and have placed some natural camo at its entrance.
Wandered down to GZ, which was interesting.scrambled around looking but no luck. Read a few previous logs to no avail. Pulled out due to not taking water, food, walking sticks or a good torch with me.
I joined Fitzy_1965 & MinnieK for a trip to Sydney to drop in on another Celebration Event. This time in the Hawksbury. We used up the rest of the day doing a series of Challenge caches near Penrith, including a bonus First to Find, and then some of the EG caches surrounding the event location. A long but exhiklerating day of caching.
No luck for us here today.
Thanks.

No luck for us here today.
Thanks.
Albida
No luck for the three of us here. With several layers plus leaf litter etc we spent 10 minutes looking then decided to leave it for next time.
Headed Sydney way with fitzy_1965 and albida33.
Unfortunately, no luck for us here today.

Had a fair idea what I was looking for, but nothing found in and around the obvious rocks
Only about 200m from the car. However, the first glance looked like a scratchy bushbash. Sue retreated to the car and allowed Dan to have all the fun. In fact, there were a series of faint tracks which made it quite easy to get to GZ. Dan automatically started crawling around and over and under all the rock outcrops and found nothing. Then he did it all again. Still nothing. He put on some glasses and read the description. This gave him some ideas but this proved to be a dead end as well. Then he did one last walk around and nearly stepped on the cache, making him jump. Lol. Worth a FP. TFTC and the heart attack teamMerlin

Team Merlin. Bit of a challenge for phobic cacher.
CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Streak day 60.
Below is a blurb about us.
We are trying to get a badge from Project-GC for writing found log files of 100 words or more. Once we get this badge we will stop writing this. We are also trying to
get badges for adding photos to our found logs.
We Started caching in December 2019 and by January 2020 we were hooked. As we are on the road full time (living in a caravan), caching fits in well with this lifestyle.
It is taking us to places that we would normally not have gone.
When we move to a new place we also look at what caches are in the area and how many days we will need to be there to get the caches we want.

There are so many caches around here and I enjoy grabbing just a couple and leaving some for next time. Accompanied by our grumpy secretary, who'd been here before, I found the cache soon enough but didn't feel the need for a quick grab. "Fools rush in", they say. Thanks teamMerlin.
A very clever hide which took us some time to find. Very well done. Signed and replaced. The cache is in good condition.TFTC
Made a bee-line to GZ from the entrance gate and made a surprisingly quick find.

Serious bush bashing here, took a stick just in case as I was very scared! Walked in from the point of the previous cache, took a while to get there as there’s no path to the cache. I was brave enough to hold the cache once we found it! TFTC
Enjoyed the beautiful walk to find the cache. Had to wander around a bit to locate the cache but was no to too much trouble. Pleased we found it though. TFTC.
Wow such a cool cache container, took a little bit of scratching around before we looked in the right place, getting down here was interesting as the track marked on my map was very vague and hard to follow. TFTC
Definitely not a trail to this cache as suggested on the map, but the coordinates are spot on so trust them and enjoy yourself
So I came here on the way to the Christmas Event at the winery.
Couldn't find a track so I just followed the GPS pointer in a straight line to GZ - a complete bush bash and there was lots of fallen debris after the recent storms. It was even more difficult on the way back to the geomobile, uphill was worse.
No luck so off to the event.
After the event Lucky1955 came here and showed me the track. Still very hard to see it.
Once at GZ, been here before, and armed with a CO tip, the icky cache container was found! And only about a metre from where I had scratched around in the leaf litter before a couple of hours earlier.
Log signed then that track, we had some trouble finding it again but much easier than the previous bush bash.

And thanks lucky1955, I wouldn't have come back here without your help!

Another day OCW marj01. After a very early start from the eastern subs we arrived at Ebenezer at first light to commence the day. During the course of the day we visited 69 trads, 4 multis, 2 puzzle and 2 letterbox caches. With only a handfull of dnfs it was a successfull day, with the majority of the caches being found in a reasonably short time. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and maintaining their caches and providing us with a fun day. Cheers oldmorty.
Out caching with @itsonlybarney.
Suffering from a bit of geocaching withdrawal after our geocaching holiday. We decided to take the opportunity of the good weather to grab as many caches as we could. We managed to get 25 finds for the day. TFTC.

**Total find count: 535**
After a week way from the searching for caches after our holiday, we needed to get out and about on a glorious day. With a total of 25 finds for the day, it felt good to make some finds after a week of no finds.
All caches were in excellent condition except as otherwise noted in my comments below.
------
With two DNFs I was worried this would be a challenge when I first saw it months ago, althugh as I approached GZ, I saw that the CO had made a check on the cache and confirmed it's placement. I went in for the find.
Wandered up and down the rocks, trying to work out which elevation the cache was, poked many holes and was unable to locate the cache with the wandering GPS. Was soon about to give up before taking one more look at an elevation I thought I had inspected and bingo, there was the cache guardian. Log was signed, photos taken and replaced just as found for the next finder.
It appears to be just over 8 months since it was last found (except for the CO).

With the previous two DNF logs and being in the area for an afternoon walk, dropped by for a cache check. Everything is in place as expected and all good to go.
Made it to gz, however decided to call it dnf'd after a solid 30 minutes searching, using both phone & gps device. We had a good idea of what the cache container was, however did not come up with the find
Searched around for over 20 minutes after the second CITO Event, but had no joy in locating the cache, just LOTS of potential places.
Thanks for showing me another part of Charles Kemp Reserve, but at least there was no weeds in this area.

Found on the way to Tizzana event with Trodectus. Parked on a side road and walked to GZ, after short search had CIH. Log signed and returned. Previous bushfire helped as not too much brush to get through. TFTC
Found with Coybear2000 on our way to the geo-event Celebrating Signal's Summer Vacation. We parked near the entrance to the reserve and made our way to GZ. We tried to avoid any thick undergrowth. Once at GZ we started searching and it wasn't long before we had CIH. Then we had the climb back to the car. TFTC.

Happy New Year everyone!
Heading up to Ebenezer for today's event. Grabbed a few others before (trying to grab my final preliminary EQ caches), and one after. Even ran into a fellow cacher on the way there - stopping to pick up info for a multi.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
My main issue with this one was following the so-called trail on OSM. Once there it was a pretty quick find. Got a start when I did, though - thanks **teamMerlin**.
Completed signing duties and grabbed my clue for the final. Replaced and then decided to try a more straight line approach. It all went good until I hit a dense burnt area - got my tiger stripes... Oops!
Time for the event.

Nice walk - but any tracks were very hard to find after the burn-off. One of us found the cache, but the other had to come in and handle it ... Tftc
Found with TOMBI! and The_Garbageman. Made a late start with all the traffic delays, making this the 4th cache today. We only managed to do a frction of the puzzles in this area. Looked where TOMBI! and Garbageman found it, but it has moved by about 2 metres. TFTC teamMerlin

Reserve has had its hazard reduction burn, GZ for this cache was on the edge so all good. Cache has been returned to its hide location and is ready to go.
Have been advised that sections of the Charles Kemp Reserve are been back-burned on Thursday (tomorrow) with mop up over the weekend. As such we have temporarily disabled this cache for safety reasons. Even though the physical cache is just outside the official burn-off area, we have taken the opportunity to remove it. Cache will be back online when the all clear is given.
This cache has been on my to-do list for a long time and today as Snoopy and Dave were heading there, I asked to join them. Parked and headed into the Reserve. With a hint given at the nearby Event we headed closer to GZ - I had to do some rear end sliding down a slope to get under a fallen tree!!. Even knowing what we were looking for it still took some looking around before it was spotted by Dave. Log was signed and returned as found. Then back up under the tree. Sliding backwards uphill not so easy especially with Snoopy laughing at my efforts. Finally a smile on this cache.
Headed off to this cache after the nearby event with Snoopy1976 and Thomo31, After making our way to GZ, it took a few minutes of searching but eventually spotted the cache. TFTC
Found with Mighty Minions on a trip to the area. We targeted the EG-Q series as well as a certain trackable out here. We found pretty much all the caches we tried for. Though we started to skip some as the day went on, but got all the answers needed for the final. A great day and we will return when the final is solved...
Turns out it takes a while to do all these, so one last walk (and cache) before a couple quick drive by answers before heading for home. I great area here, and nice walk. Cache spotted quite quickly and easily. Still not sure which is the right colour though. Made OK time going home, back by 6:30.
Thanks for the drive, walk, info, cache and series!

Out today with the garbageman, his two beautiful daughters and my daughter. The aim of the day to find 25 different D/T combos in a day . This was number 9 of the day and a really quick find by the oldest daughter in team garbageman , who is a total legend for doing so. it was a nice walk once we found the correct path. Thanks for the cache teamMerlin tnln sl

I'm not saying it isn't there; just that I had no luck locating the container this time around. I searched for quite a while and looked out for various things, such at a potential cache guardian, but to no avail. Perhaps next time.
The paths don't seem to be well-walked, but I did manage to find a feint track that meandered a bit but generally led in the right direction. At some point I had to make a decision where to leave the trail and head directly for GZ.
In the process I think I spotted a grey kangaroo off in the woods, but it disappeared before I could make a proper ID. I guess there aren't too many large grey things bounding around in the bush here, so for now I'm telling myself it was indeed a roo.
No luck with finding the cache, I then had insult added to injury, or was that the other way around? A nasty large red and black ant about 2 cm long nailed me on the foot. That will serve as a reminder that thongs are probably not the right footwear for a little excursion in the bush. Wow, that hurt, and it's been itching ever since. You guys certainly have a lot of nasty critters here in Australia, and I thought Africa was tough. Well, as least you don't have any large dangerous mammals prowling in the bush: no troops of baboons to chase you off a mountain, no elephants to improve your reversing skills in a car, no hippos to keep you off the river. But I'm not taking any chances with your reptiles, some of the fiercest and most venomous snakes ...
Instead, I did find some interesting mushrooms. Pity I didn't bring a proper camera with a macro lens. There are lots of other interesting things in the bush besides caches.
Ahh well, another "souvenir" to remember a fun day caching, even if I didn't manage to get a smiley today.

Not sure if we approached this one the way the CO intended, but we got there in the end! TFTC

Got to GZ by a combination of following faint trails and bush bashing. Found plenty of great places to hide a cache, but none with the price. Searched all the levels multiple times. The angle of the sun made looking into some of the dark spots quite difficult and after reading some logs and a few more laps, dripping with sweat, I was close to giving up. Then I looked down and there it was. I suspect not quite in the right spot but without knowing where it should go, I left it as found.

Out caching for the day, after having spent the night camping at Cattai National Park, we decided to take on the Ebenezer Geo-Quest.
At first we had trouble finding the right track in. After a while we found a track that winded in the general direction. Had to divert once, and then do some bush bashing the last bit down to GZ. While looking for the cache, Hagar was attacked by a bunch of sinister black ants biting very painfully. Eventually the cache was spotted, and not being too scared of its guardian we could sign the log and replace.

Still riding the high of a difficult FTF on a new GCA cache nearby I was fast losing light but as I passed only 50m from this one on the track I couldn't not give it a go. In the dusk light I made damn sure I poked the guardian with a stick before making the grab! All is well, the guardian forgave me. Cheers!
Today's in such beautiful weather I took a tour from Wilberforce to Ebenezer and took the ferry across the Hawkesbury back to Tizzana Road. I was able to look at old buildings along the tracks, taking a nice busch walk to enjoy the beautiful view of the river.
This tour was very nice and I have enjoyed myself very much
Thank you

Found this yesterday with dragoncache. Made our way towards GZ. Spotted it and had to look twice at the guardian. But sure enough there it was. TFTC
Got to gz but the Guardian worried me good thing Ria_Sil wasnt bothered!! Good cache!!
Out today to pick up a few I didn't have time to get to on a previous run around the area, a bit of a walk and not sure which path to follow but got there in the end. quick find TFTC
I headed back up to Ebenzer to try and finish TeamMerlins wonderful series and grab a few others while I could. I went via Wisemans Ferry again to grab a few around there I missed last time.
Tftc, made my way down to the cache for a nice find. Luckily there were no creatures of the eight legged variety.

This is a beautiful spot and I quite enjoyed the walk. Having had cache blindness prior to the event, I returned afterwards with Mr H in tow and spotted it immediately. It's strange what the eye doesn't see when its looking for something else.. in plain sight and I didnt see it first time round. So glad to spot this. Thanks
No luck on this one for us today. We got within 26 metres of the cache (we think? cloud cover was affecting the gps), but the path we'd taken became very treacherous, especially once the rain hit. After Mr 12 landed on his bottom, we decided it was best to abandon our search.

Boy, this one took me ages! I enjoyed the quiet walk to GZ, very serene. Once at GZ, I saw that there were plenty of possible areas, so I began my search. I went on all levels, looking in every crack. It got to about 20 minutes, I had a sweat going at this stage, but I was determined. Finally, my eyes caught it. I don't even know how I missed it. Plenty of appropriate cobwebs as well! TFTC, was fun

ANZAC Day and day number 2 for this EG-Q trail plus some nearby caches. It was a good caching session along with thereimer, karennicole and Blundo Buster Jnr.

Ebenezer trip part 2 with karennicole, blundobuster and BBJnr. Coming to the end of our caching on Friday we didn't go for this one, but now advised by CO where to park and having more time we ventured in. Nice to know too there are paths and not just bush bashing. We made our way towards the cache, had a little search, before having CIH. Nicely done. TFTC.
Found on a fun family caching adventure with thereimer, Blundo Blusters and Blundo Buster Jnr on Anzac Day. This was our second day exploring historic Ebenezer and the wonderful caches in the area. Lovely walk through the bush. Needed the compass on our apps to find GZ. Happy there were bush paths and not much bush bashing. Thereimer found this creative cache - luckily we didn't meet the real thing. Thanks for the walk and cache teamMerlin

I DNF'd this one last time I was out here, so I made bikerbuddy do the walk with me to help find it. He told me which level to look at, and pointed out the direction, then made comments about paying attention to what I was looking at rather than just looking for what I thought would be cache hide. Then I spotted it.
Thanks

#660 After meeting up with lucky1955, celtical & alnic39 in Windsor came into the Ebenezer area to find a few more of these caches. This one ended up being an adventure and a half, it was to be our last cache of the day and walking to GZ lucky1955 sat down on a rock and watched as we all hunted around. Both alnic & myself had dark sunglasses on so looking into holes was hard to see. Meanwhile lucky was making suggestions look here look there eventually celtical spotted the cache container and I grabbed it we all signed the log and I replaced as found. We all left with lucky taking up the rear, we missed our turning and went about 300 metres passed the turnoff. Back at the cars it was discovered that lucky had lost his phone so lucky and celtical went to Tizzana's we went back to the cache I took the path when we went the wrong way & Al went down to the cache. When we met back at the turnoff Al had found the phone where lucky had been sitting. He claimed FTF and I texted to say we found it. Back at the car we tried to work out how to find lucky & celtical so drove up to Tizanna, not there. Back to Orb's Lair not there either go to I Love Port. We're talking in the car wanting to know how we can contact celtical as we didn't have her number suddenly it occurred to me that the only person with all contact numbers was lucky. Grabbed hi phone at 3 different areas on the drive tried to ring & at the 3 spot the phone rang. Just as we were saying we found the phone we drove passed one another so Lucky stopped at Currency Creek and we found a spot to turn around and caught up with them. Made the exchanges and we all headed of in our various directions. Thanks for the cache teamMerlin. I don't think it was meant to be this much of an adventure
This was fun. The walk in was good, the finding was hysterical, and the walk out tuckered me out. Last one for the day and I was tired. We got back to the car find that Lucky1955 had lost his phone. He and Celtical headed back to Tizzana's while Phil and I walked back in to find the phone. I claimed FTF for thsi one!
Beautiful day for a spot of caching with Lucky1955, alnic39 & phlphotos.
I didn't find this the last time becasue the light was dropping & wanted back to the car before it got dark. Today we had more time & 4 pairs of eyes. There were webs everywhere adding to the whole experience.
There was a bit of squealing & giggling when we found it, and good deal of prodding with a stick to make sure it didn't move.
Great camo. TFTC
Got back to the car to discover that lucky1955 hadn't been so lucky & had dropped his phone somewhere.
alnic39 & phlphotos headed back to the orbs lair, while lucky & I headed back to the last place he remembered using it. On our way back, my phone rang, from the missing phone! - the boys had found it - thankfully.

alnic39 & phlphotos headed back to the orbs lair, while lucky & I headed back to the last place he remembered using it. On our way back, my phone rang, from the missing phone! - the boys had found it - thankfully.
Backburn has been postponed for now due to the weather. Cache has now been placed back and is now in play.
Have been advised that sections of the Charles Kemp Reserve are been back-burned on Friday afternoon (tomorrow) and over the weekend. As such we have temporarily disabled this cache for safety reasons. Even though the physical cache is just outside the official burn-off area, we have taken the opportunity to removed it in order to before maintenance. Cache will be back online when the all clear is given.
On the day trip with contactpete, we found this one. pretty easy to get once at GZ. Co ords spot on..... Had to get hubby to get it, knowing what the cache was (well thinking what it would be hence the name).. LOL
After spending the night back in our own bed, it seemed nice to head to Wisemans ferry to have lunch and grab a few caches in and around sackville & Ebenezer.
And what a fantastic day for it too ...
TFTC.

Decided to spend the afternoon on the Ebenezer Geo-Quest Trail, what fun this was.
Always exciting learning a bit of history as you go
Thanks TeamMerlin for a great day with some fun caches.
I am not a fan of spiders, no way I was grabbing that out, over to geo hubby lol

Bit of a hike for this one over an at times barely discernable trail. Fortunately, GPS behaved itself and the coords are very good making this a relatively painless pick up. And no, it's unlikely this will be muggled any time soon.

We came here for the 2nd time because we didn’t find it a few days ago. Found the creepy cache, Thanks TeamMerlin for leading us here.
When we came here other day but we couldn't find the cache but this was our second attempt then it was finally found the scary cache by Everlasting. Thanks teamMerlin for bringing us here on a very hot day.
Great day out for caching - enjoyed this series with Everlasting and skyejam but could not find this cache we decided to come back on this week
Search everywhere no luck for us... but enjoyed walk along to GZ... anyway Will come back this thursday. so DNF for me. . Thanks
Was doing a nearby cache and sort of half heartedly walked on down the path - it was getting late & I didn't want to be down there in the dark. Got to GZ, looked high & low, under & over. Got GZ down to 2m but couldn't find it. Then when a big ant with an orange bum (?bull ant) decided to bite my ankle (ouch!) I cut my losses and headed back to the car. That's enough caches for one day. I'll be back.
Loving this trail through Ebenezer.

We were out for a morning cache hunt with phantom cyclist and wanted to do more of this series. This one was a good walk through the bush and then it took us a while to spot the guardian. The poor thing had eaten something rather indigestible. We enjoyed finding this one and have giver it a fav point. TFTC.
Had a nice walk through the bush, after sometime searching the cache was found. Favourite point given. Found with goingplaces2.
A continuation of the previous day's Ebenezer mystery trail suggested at the the recent Camo and Constructed event by the chief wizard of teamMerlin - with its history lesson at each cache.
A park at a previous day's stop and a pleasant spring sunshine bushland walk to the GZ. A seek in up over around down and into the guardian guarded lairs ... a tubby whitemushroom expecting a namesake in the dark of a cavity if not a cache. Neither eventuated. The upshot goodness was a get out of the GeoReindeer for a walk in birds a chirp bush land. Thanks teamMerlin for the adventure.

A nice walk and an interesting cache container makes this one worthy of a Fav point. We hoped to complete what we thought was a circuit track but ended up at the back of someone's property. Two big dogs came out and the owner was VERY unfriendly as he ordered us back the way we'd come.
Find Number 3046
The Booo's found this cache, Mr Booo walked in to the bush while Mrs Booo looked for Charlie. Bashed down to a path and headed followed the trail around to GZ for an easy find
Thanks teamMerlin for placing this cache

Today we decided to tackle the Ebenezer Geo-Quest series.
24 caches in total - we found 22 of the 24 with 2 DNF's
From northern Sydney the drive via Dural took us about 1 hr 15 to get there.
It took us about 5 hrs to do the series which included a stop off in Wilberforce for lunch at the bakery.
Thanks for the series teamMerlin.

A bit of a walk and some bush bashing got us close to the location. A good spot by geodaughter.

Lovely little bushwalk in one of my companies work sites but I had never been here before. Loves the cache and all combined gets it a favourite. With a bung knee and bronchitis had a lot of trouble getting back to the road. Tftc
Out today with the geomum and today we were on our way to the Hawkesbury Meet and greet event. On the way home we grabbed a few caches with Paul the Hippy.
Had a nice walk down the small track to this gz and with alttle bit of searching we found the guardian of the cache TFTC

Having enjoyed our previous visits to the area to get a few first to finds in EG-Q series today with a bit of free time we ventured back to see if we could complete the rest of the series as the final caught our eye and also to pick up a few others along the way. It certainly is a nice area with great views to the past history and only a short distance out of the city. We managed most of the hides without too much trouble with only one DNF which we suspect the location had been muggled. The TB hotel was the high light of the EG-O series and good to see a number of different hide types. Certainly some interesting history around the area and we even went for a ferry ride. The CO caught up with us later in our circuit as we had been do field logs on line as we headed around. It was good to meet and have a geo chat. With the signing duties down, caches re hid and a pile of photo clues its time to look at the final. TFTC
