Cache found. Log is complety underwater. Container needs new seals as water is getting inside
Cache log is no good as its water damaged and needs replacing unless another cacher can replace as I didn't have any paper on hand
We came to this area to find the challenge caches and found ourselves side tracked with these. SL TFTC
Our last day in Ballarat we decided to try to finish up this Symbol series. But unfortunately that was not to be.

With a target to finish the Symbol Series (or what remains of it), we were hoping for a full set of smilies. Unfortunately it wasn't to be.
Stopped just down the road, wandered through the scrub until we spotted something cache-like. Made the grab and found a wet, mushy log. Have added a new log for ongoing finding.

On our way home from an event in Ballarat this morning. We were looking for a way that wasn't along the main highway and this was our choice. Nice little series that would have been better approached from the opposite direction. Found all we looked for except one. Thanks for the placing of this series and bringing us to an area that we hadn't, until now, visited.
Grabbed this whilst out on a trip today with SnapHappy and Woz for the drive. Caching today on the #roadto100

Found today as we were enjoying the winter sunshine finding a few caches around Buninyong and Mt Helen. All but one were soon found and signed. Thank you for the series along this path, which has been beckoning for a long time and, as of today, will be a line of smiles!
We spent plenty of time looking on the wrong side of the path today - the large object was just too tempting! Once we realised where we should be looking it was quickly found. TFTC
Due to the last couple of DNF logs, I was a little sceptical. But perseverance paid off, and I soon had cache in hand. TFTC
Unfortunately we couldn't find this one. GPS was jumping around everywhere.
Found with Claybol and jtnsilo as our last cache on an excellent day's caching. Took a little while and Claybol had alreadxy been here once looking for it so it was good that he made the find...... logged by all of us and then we were on our way.
Find #1742 for me. Found at 3:40 pm with jtnsilo and virbull while visiting Ballarat from Bendigo. After logging a DNF here several months ago I noticed that quite a few cachers had since found it since then, some of them logging a quick, easy find. OK - time for another visit! This time I had two companions with me so we had 3 pairs of eyes looking for it, not just one - essentially tripling our chances of success. And so it was that today we found it after a short search of about 3 minutes. Very happy to turn a DNF into a find! Unfortunately we didn't have time to look for any more in the series this afternoon but happy to leave them for another day. Thanks for the series and the cache BallaratGeocachers!
Find #3386. Found @ 15:42 with The Good Lady Wife.
We're in Ballarat to help the in-law's out on a holiday. The bribery to get me on board with this plan was some caching.
Leaving the kids at the accommodation, The Good Lady Wife and I went for a combination of caching and getting steps. Parking nearby and the doing every other cache on the way out, and the remainder on the way back. This one had us stumped for way too long. The Good Lady Wife doesn't really enjoy the searching, but is fine with the walking, she kept at this one for much longer than I figured she would.
In the end, I abandoned the structure that appeared most promising and went back to my original location, that had better match to the coordinates and made the find. I'm sure that I'd already looked there, but must not have seen it.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache BallaratGeocachers

A day in Ballarat, attending a CITO at Warrenheip Creek and afternoon tea at Eureka. With caches being archived rapidly along the 'Symbol' Series, we took this good opportunity to head down and pick up the caches that are left. Snap parked whilst I jumped and grabbed the caches I could along the trail. Thanks for the cache, and the series BallaratGeocachers.

I dropped by here at 3:40 pm today but gave up after 15 minutes as I needed to get back to Mum's place where I'd left the kids and grab a quick coffee before heading back to Bendigo. Lots of possible hiding places for a micro here! I'll be back for a second try some time. It's good to have a few trickier ones (tricky for me at least!) in a series like this to keep us on our toes - thanks for the hunt so far BallaratGeocachers!
A DNF for this cache after we searched around and about and widened the search area as well but to no avail this am. A cacher was walking past on the path, and she guessed what we were doing and so we had a good chat together.

Found at 10:53 AM GAFF1 on a "get our Terrain average up to 1.8 weekend". Which means no Terrain caches below 2.0 for a while
A much abused little fellow - sometimes it is placed in a totally inappropriate spot - like after an "and"
I went straight to the cache location and missed it. Went all around as you do and of course found nothing. c-pprass comes out of the car, goes to the very first place I looked at and says "what's this?". Umm - if I am not mistaken it is the cache - hehehe.
Thanks BallaratGeocachers.

My phone had a really bad hair day here. It was zeroing in on both sides of the track and a distance of about 12m along it. I searched within that area to no avail. Need to come back with a GPS
Nice easy find, I think this one might be in need of a new log. Popped a strip of paper in for the meantime. TFTC
Found by Mary & David at 1440. Our last for the day, and the last of the Symbol Series for us. A pity that the Series Final is no longer available. We give this a FP on behalf of the series, which has taken more than two years for us to finish. The log here is wet and fragile. Our thanks to BallaratGeocachers.
Dnf, this was a little tricky and had problems locking onto position as it kept changing.
A beautiful afternoon caching thought I'd make a start on the symbol series. Nice hide TFTC

Found with Beaker on a camping and caching trip in and around Ballarat. Thanks
TFTC Ballarat Geocachers. Walked straight up to the cache container. Found the log absolutely soaking and not able to log our find. So put a new bit of paper in the log container and wrapped the sodden log in a clean tissue and put it in the post nearby in a plastic bag in case the cache owner wants to do some maintenance. Jimmytherat with Noelle04.
Thanks again Ballarat GC's nice placement found with Jimmytherat. Unfortunately the log is saturated so have replaced with some dry paper. See Jimmytherat's log for details...,needs some TLC
With a 10.30pm start in Geelong we started this series just after midnight. We parked the car and made the quick walk to the 2 caches in this area. quick finds which was luckly for us!
were looking in the wrong spot for awhile but they are the perks of caching with phones sometimes lol

I'm trying to do a "100 caches in a day" challenge. This was find #36. Gotta say - pretty locations! Thanks heaps, BallaratGeocachers!
Out on the bike just needed 2 more to fill the gaps of smileys on this trail

One of our targets for this visit to the Ballarat area was the Symbol Series. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks BallaratGeocachers for the cache and the series.
Found on a caching trip to Ballarat with Freddo and Team Waldron, after finishing the BSRT trail we decided to drive around and grab a few more caches, there is a commer van, different spelling and ugly as hell. TFTC
Heading over to Ballarat for a caching weekend and picking up a few caches on the way.
We managed to find about 230 caches in 3 days not bad work for 3 old guys
Another series of caches in Ballarat that boosted the numbers.
We weren't sure how we would be able to get to these but we mangaged most by car with just a couple of shortish walks.
Thanks for an excellent series.

Set off today with my caching buddy Slink1 to try and reach a mile stone number (9000) and I am pleased to say that we made that number and a few past (to be sure we counted correctly!). This cache was found as part of our effort to reach our milestone and my thanks go to BallaratGeocachers for the placement and maintenance of this cache. We had a lot of fun and some laughs along the way.

We were in Ballarat this morning as my sister and I competed in a triathlon. Afterwards we did some shopping then ditched Dad and eldest sister at the movies while becca85/Mum, boo09 and I did some caching including part of the Symbol series. Back for the rest another day. TFTC

In Ballarat for a Triathlon for the kids, husband decided he wanted t check out the new Zoolander. I had no interest but was very happy to drop him off and do some caching!
Dumped him and the eldest Geo-child off and neisha07, boo09 and I headed out to Buninyong to get some of this series. We started at Buninyong and did as many as we could before we got the call to pick up from the cinema. Will be back for the rest sometime soon. TFTC

We made the drive over to Ballarat with the main purpose of completing the Symbol Series of caches. To make it easier logistically, we were advised to start at Buninyong so we kept all the caches on the left of the road in case we decided to stop with the car at any close ones.
There was parking at these first few and we took advantage of it when we could.

Find No. 1226. Found with FUF009 at 2.26pm.
Headed down to Ballarat to do two main things for the day - (1) the walk underneath Ballarat organised by Doug that attracted 27 cachers, and (2) head to Buninyong to see the Road Nationals Men's Cycle Race. Walking around the course we noticed a few cache hides we thought of getting in between laps and this was one of them. So many muggles along this track we thought we'd leave the others up the hill for another day.
Quickly done this one, then back down the hill we went.

Found with Tyred n Cranky.
We had heard about the walk underneath Ballarat being organised to grab the Letterbox cache and the others along the way.
Tyred n Cranky and I all decided that we could join in the Caching Walk and then in the arvo go and catch the Road Cycling Nationals in Buninyong, Elite Men race.
After watching a few laps of the race we decided to go for a walk along the race circuit and grab a few caches close by.
With muggles aplenty we decided to leave the ones further up the hill for next time.

Found during a stop-over in Ballarat on our way to Melbourne for the week. Thanks for the cache BallaratGeocachers!
We started this series back on Anzac day when we were up here for the event but unfortunately the heavy rainfall that day chased us inside. Today we joined forces with Alansee and The Drovers to try again. Fortunately a conversation with a local team the day before had us going mostly downhill which made for a nice easy ride.
All the caches we looked for were found fairly quickly except for Equals which we couldn't locate so we returned after lunch and it was then found in the first place we checked.
It's funny how many times that happens.
We apologise for the generic log but we were having that much fun riding and finding we can't really remember which one was which but we did enjoy the whole series.
Many thanks Shamus for putting this trail out, it was a great way to find some cache whilst having an enjoyable ride.

Day 2 camped at Creswick with Alansee and Team Crackers, we headed out to grab some caches.
We found a mixture of bike trails, walks and drive by's, which made a fun day.
Most caches were found after a short search, some a little trickier.
Many thanks for placing this series of caches, BallaratGeocachers, for us and others to find.

We are on a road trip to attend "The Melbourne Event" Mega, taking our time to get there and on the return journey. Fortunately, there were lots of caches along the way to tempt us to stop for a while to smell the roses. This was one of those caches.
We had made our way to Ballarat to attend the GIFF Event and to spend a few days in the area before heading off to Melbourne. We decided we would complete this series of caches while in the area. All were found with little difficulty and we managed to collect all the clues required for the final puzzle.
Thank you BallaratGeocachers for having placed the cache for everyone to enjoy

After travelling here from other side of Melbourne with Vanessa&Aodh (for an overnight visit nearby and dedicated caching time), we excited to be doing this Symbol Series. The weather was drizzly so we used the car to jump between some on the caches as we have 3 kids between 5-7yo. People don't use commas enough. TFTC
